Acura Automobile Model 2020 Acura ILX
I highly recommend this brand for many different reasons. They have wide selection of models as well as colors and has a lot of wonderful features from DVD to CD player to choose from. The styles are one of a kind. There are many wonderful exterior colors and the interior comes in leather or your basic interior. You can upgrade your vehicle but it will cost. If you dont like the features on the inside of the car you can have it changed to fit your personal needs and style. This brand of car has plenty of room for family and friends. I know that is definitely a plus.
DO NOT BUY AN ACURA. I have a 5-year-old Acura with 55,000 - Garage kept. All of the so called leather is coming off the doors and has torn on the side of the drivers seat. I called Acura/Honda goodwill department and received a callback today saying it would cost $3600.00 but they will give me a discount and I can pay only $750.00. I have had Lexus, BMW, and a Nissan which were much older and never had a problem with the leather.
BUYER BEWARE! I bought the 2019 RDX about 5 months ago and just brought it back to the dealer for the 3rd time for the same electrical problem. Apparently I found out today that Acura was well aware of the situation however, let the dealers sell the cars with this defect. The dealer and Acura, who dealing with is a nightmare (Acura) stated a patch to the software had to be created to stop the problem. So why would they sell a car that they knew had a defect? So have a case open with Acura. I dont even want the IT anymore and will be bringing this to the attention of the WFSB - Channel 3 Eyewitness News so that we can make this misrepresentation known to the public (in Connecticut) anyways. There were 7 other RDXs in the lot waiting to get repaired - I dont know if it is for the same reason but what does that tell you when you see 7 2019 cars needing to be repaired. Dont say you have not been warned. This is totally unacceptable and the customer service is horrible from Acura. My case manager does not return calls and when I spoke with a so called supervisor at Acura she states, Well you need to deal with your case manager, I dont do that. So what exactly does a supervisor do? This is a nightmare!
My car is a 2016. I bought it used. It was in excellent condition. The acceleration is lacking somewhat. It has a hesitation problem. But its a nice looking SUV. Its smaller than the car I sold when I bought this. That was a Hyundai Santa Fe. The Acura has some convenient things. It has a moon roof. It doesnt use a key to start the car. Its a push button. Mine has fully adjustable front heated seats. They are leather. Id like to have cooled seat because I live in southern Arizona. Overall its a good car thats a little hard on gas, however.
I purchased Acura Care for my Acura MDX. The engine failed and it took 76 days to replace. Acura Care attempted to put a 60,000 mile engine back in my vehicle but I prevented it. They finally had the Walser Acura dealership install factory parts, but they delayed the process for two months. I am extremely dissatisfied with the level of customer service, care, and professionalism offered throughout this experience. IF I would have signed a forever discharge release, they would have made my car payment while it was in the shop. Since I would not sign, they withdrew their goodwill gesture. Acura, American Honda, Acura Care and the Walser Acura dealership left me very disappointed that a luxury automobile company would treat their customer in such a manner. If I could rate them lower than 1 star I would. I would not recommend purchasing Acura Care for your next purchase if you choose to take your chances with an Acura.
I bought my Acura 1 year this past November. My front tires look like this!! I have been through 2 oil changes (One this past November) and tire rotation, only for Acura of Memphis not to mention anything about an alignment. I asked to speak with a service manager and the rep sent me to Doris ** (I knew she wasnt a manager), who made me feel really bad. She said its my fault that I didnt get an alignment. Im suppose to get it twice a year (who does that? Who knows that?) She also asked if I read the manual for the service codes??? NO! When service due comes up, I go to Acura of Memphis. I thought this was a one stop shop, but it looks like I have to turn into a mechanic! When I bought the car, I was told oh yeah, oil changes and tire rotations 2x a year. Well according to Doris, its suppose to be 2 oil changes, 2 alignments, air filters, etc. Sounds like $1000 for maintenance 2x a year. Im stuck after 1 year, 30k miles, buying two tires ($244 ea and alignment $99).After writing the post above on Facebook, the General Manager, Clifton **, called me very upset. He stated that I post incorrect information. He also stated that Doris was indeed a manager, in which the website stated that she was a service advisor. Per Mr. **, she was promoted 2 weeks or 2 months ago. Mr. ** clearly wasnt trying to resolve my problem, but was very argumentative. I told him multiple times that my problem clearly isnt a tire problem, but an alignment problem. He totally ignored me and started reading some script talking about what Acura does for their customers. His tone was very negative and I dont ever care to speak with him again. I am not sure why a General Manager would call a customer irate. I have replaced the two tires and got an alignment. No help to Acura of Memphis or the General Manager.
Seems that I have purchased a vehicle with a bad history of torque converters and I am now one of those victims. Dissatisfied that I did not do homework on this brand and model. Me bad. Just have to say that when after a year not one service place knew what I was talking about, I should have gotten online. Went to an Acura dealer and got a clean bill of health one month. The under body vibrates and grinds a noise at certain speeds which has not been consistent, now the engine does not want to go as if transmission is not getting power and that is not consistent yet. Here I bragged about this car and seems that Acura needs to make a count on how many MDXes have this problem. Husband bought this for me and I wanted to get my own in the summer, now I will find the heated seats in another brand!
I left my Canadian 2001 Acura 3.2TL at AutoWest Acura of Stevens Creek for a recall check up on the automatic transmission overheating problem on 1/30/2012. I communicated with Sarah from Canada Acura client services and she said that AutoWest Acura of Stevens Creek just needs to give her a call and shell provide the procedures necessary to perform the recall. Jaime from AutoWest Stevens Creek, on the other hand, left me a voicemail yesterday at 6:42 pm saying that his service manager needs to do more research on my car before working on it and that the last Canadian car that was brought in about a year ago sat there for 3-4 months, almost 5 months, and he implied that I might not want to wait that long to get the required service from them.Quoting their recall letter, What is the problem? Certain operating conditions can result in heat build-up in the transmission second gear set on certain 2000-2003 vehicles. This could result in gear tooth chipping or, in very rare cases, gear breakage. Gear failure could result in transmission lock-up and a crash could occur without warning. In most cases, abnormal transmission noise will indicate a problem.I refuse to accept the fact that they are showing absolutely no urgency in having this defect remedied. It is ridiculously that a dealership who sells Acura cars could not locate the necessary documents to prove that this recall exists. I literally had to make all the calls and walk the service advisor through their own company website as if it was their first time seeing recalls. Even then, Jaime insisted that the recall letter on Acuras website was not enough information.Who dares buy an Acura now?
I bought my 2005 Acura MDX 1 month ago and the transmission went out while I was driving down the road. The car only has 123,000 miles on it!
There are sedans, that is what I have. Acura also has sports cars and SUVs. They are all similar but they each are sleek and attractive cars. They look sleek and modern. The colors are great, especially white pearl. The leather seats and wood on the dashboard are beautiful. The wheels are unique too. There are engine upgrades as well as stereo, heating/air conditioning, lighting, GPS and display upgrades. They offer satellite radio and cameras and parking sensors. Ive had some engine issues, I love the smooth ride though. The standard amount of people can fit in the vehicles. My car is roomy, no one has ever complained. There is good leg room as well. I fit 2 in the front and 3 in the back seat, even with a car seat back there.
I cannot believe I paid almost $50k for an RLX, a luxury car, apparently designed by an idiot. I dont like anything about the car except perhaps the acceleration. The navigation, graphics, handling, convenient features, cup holder, radio controls, speech recognition, etc...unbelievably poor and stupid design. The safety electronics feature beeps AFTER the danger is either cleared or encountered. Slowest microprocessor that money could buy on a luxury car. Worse car of the year for the money. Acura, shame on you. You have ruined the Acura brand.
When I met my husband, he was driving an Acura TL. We used that car for a long time. It was gorgeous outside. The inside was spacious and comfortable and fit two childrens car seats comfortably. We decided we wanted more room in the trunk area because we have to take a lot of kid gear and suitcases when we travel. We got the Acura MDX. I drive it. Its an SUV, but its boxy squared off looking. Its more rounded and soft looking like a car. I have mine in a burgundy red. Inside is like a camel tan color leather seats. It has very tinted windows. The built in navigation is really nice. The navigation screen and radio screen is huge and very easy to operate. I like that I can control the radio with the buttons on the steering wheel. There is a third row that folds down. I keep it permanently folded down because we only have two kids. It is easy to fit in two car seats in the second row and would be easy to fit three. On the rare occasion that we do have the third row up it has sat three full sized adults in the third row comfortably. There is also a ton of room in the trunk. When I had to have my car serviced last month we got a loaner car. They gave us the Acura RDX. Its nice, but not quite as nice as the MDX and feels really cramped in comparison inside.
I had purchased my $55,000 Acura RL from King just a couple of years before the high-end GPS unit went belly-up. It just quit working! I took it to Kings service department and was told: You must have bumped the unit when you were putting something in the trunk. (Say Whaaat?!?) Thats customer damage and not covered by the warranty. Its going to cost you NINE HUNDRED BUCKS and take about six weeks to get a replacement from California. Please know, the unit showed NO SIGN of being bumped while I was ...putting something in the trunk but King Acura would not budge. Need I say, my RL will be remembered as my first and last foray into the sordid world of Acura.
I purchased my MDX slightly used off dealer lot, it had about 6,000 miles. I have loved many things about the vehicle, however recently (once I had paid it off and warranty expired) my battery has died 4 times. Had alternator replaced around $700 min. Had new battery installed, but still died again. Now my navigation system says it is reconfiguring and if it isnt working in 10 minutes to take to dealer. Well, I cant afford to just run down to Acura every time there is an issue! The last time I brought it in, when I went to p/u my car wouldnt start! The side board was hanging off and remote key wouldnt work! They never offer loaner vehicles and overcharge everything. Now I have no navi. My check oil light is constantly coming on (oil is fine) and my key gets stuck in ignition!
I have had a great experience with my Acura. I got it for a good deal and it has been reliable for over 5 years. I did have to get a new transmission, but if you take care of this car, it will run forever. I love my car and am so thankful I had such a great first car experience. I also like the heated seats and wonderful heat and AC. The car accelerates quickly and well, too. The transmission problems are really the only problem I have really had with this vehicle. But the car is otherwise very reliable and safe to drive. I have never felt in danger or like I did not get my moneys worth.
I got the MDX 2016 and I have about 12000 miles and the suspension is so bad I went to the dealer to look at it, they fix the system on 2017 models so I have to stick with it or buy the new one 0.
There are different type of brands, small, medium, big and a variety of colors and options. Everyone can find what they are looking for for a decent price. The car was white with a lot of features like ac, automatic, tinting on the window, leather seats, huge mirrors, reclinable seats. It was really easy to use and the manual helped with any issues. Its a very good car for a modest family with kids. The car seat were really comfortable, even for a long drive, lots of legroom for passengers and easy access with the 4 doors.
The dealership had multiple cars available in their inventory ranging from the different models, colors, years, and new and used vehicles available. I really enjoy the upgrades that come standard in all Acura Vehicles which led me to the purchase of my new vehicle as well. Each model comes basic with navigation, leather seats, and sunroof. Overall I feel like there could be more leg room added to the back seats of the vehicles. However they are comfortable and provide a sense of security and luxury.
Acura provides a number of different vehicles to choose from, from sport sedans to luxury SUVs. They offer mid to high range vehicles that are tightly tuned and a blast to drive. Acura vehicles all look very sharp, with trim features youd expect to see on a luxury car. The trim lines are sleek and the headlamps make the front end look stylish. However, they dont give a lot of options to upgrade, but most features already come standard. A technology package is usually available which usually gives navigation and a few extra bells and whistles. Depending on the model, you can expect ample interior space for passengers and cargo. Some of the smaller sport sedans may sacrifice rear leg room, but this is expected in this type of model. The SUVs are spacious.
Acura RLX - DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!!!!!!! I bought the car because it says it gets 20/24/30. I get 15/19/25. Acura Relations - LOSERS - says sorry there are many factors in what your car gets. I put premium in it; drive the speed limit, have an empty car yet it gets 5 mpg less. I will NEVER buy an Acura again. Unfortunately I am in a three-year lease or I would get rid of it. ACURA HAS LOUSY CUSTOMER RELATIONS - dont buy this car or any Acura for that matter.
Acura has a lot of options depending on the size of the car that you are looking for. I would recommend that you try different ones. They also have a lot more of high tech options that are necessary in this age. Sports car SUV sedan has great stereo equipment and easy to learn how to work things. As with technology there are many options that you can gauge which ones are more important and fix those ones and personalize as to your comfort. Plus their cars are very roomy have plenty of room in the back of the car space for cargo and really good amount of leg room in front and back. Even with car seats can fit 3 in the back.
I purchased two CPO Acuras. A 2014 RDX with 8000 miles on it and a 2015 TLX with 5,000 miles. Since then have performed all maintenance as specified through a dealer. I have had issues with both vehicles as described below. With under 50,000 miles on the RDX a check emissions light came on and I replaced a front rocker arm oil sensor switch. One month later the light came back on and I was told the the vehicle needed to have a software upgrade for the engine and transmission for $200. 3 days later the light came back on and now the Im told the rear oil sensor switch needs to be replaced for another $300.With TLX I experienced something I had never seen. Approximately 3 or 4 months after replacing the battery at the dealer the car shut down completely at an intersection with no power on to anything not even the emergency flashers. I was forced to call the police and a tow truck to get me to the dealer $400 later the dealer informed me that the replacement battery had failed. Of course they replaced the battery at no charge but no compensation for the cost of the tow or my time (I was on my way to a client). I would seriously advise anyone looking at spending the money on an luxury brand to be advised to careful consider not only the vehicle but how youll be treated afterwards.
It serves the purpose and really is all that is needed. It is stylish and yet passes safety tests. The car steers well and is smooth on the road. It has a lot of extras on the body and inside. I feel proud to drive it. Sometimes I just get in it and drive just for the pleasure it provides. It is leather on the inside and has a stylish sunroof. Also there are a lot of ways it can be personalized from top to bottom. It can come in several colors and personal choices. The tires can be upgraded along with the stereo system. There are lots of room with a total of five people. The belts and the seats are comfortable. It sits well and has lots of room upfront as well as in the rear.
I bought brand new Acura MDX in 2007. Since I bought I have had issues related to either Accelerator noise, Air conditioning leakage, or low brakes and cracks and scratches in seat leather. I have been taking my MDX to fix these issues at Bloomington Acura dealership where I bought it. I am very much disappointed with Acura manufacturer as these issues have arisen at baby miles. I am also very upset and disappointed with Bloomington Acura Service Dept. as far as finding the source and fixing issues at the first place. I always have to bring my Acura MDX twice or three times before they are able to diagnose the exact symptoms. In the past, I had to take my Acura MDX three times to the service dept to figure out the source of Air-conditioning leakage.Currently, I am having issues with low brakes. Few months ago, the brake pedal is almost to floor before I am able to stop the car, I took my Acura MDX to Bloomington Acura service dept. I was told initially that they will try to find any brake fluid leakage, if not then they will have to change the Master Cylinder part to fix the issue. I agreed, eventually they had to change Master Cylinder but when I drove the car I still didnt see much difference because the brake pedal was still almost to the floor when pressing the brake pedal. So, I took my Acura MDX again to the service dept and they said everything is fine and up to the coding standards. There is nothing else is remaining to be done by them. They suggested to drive the MDX for couple more months and see if it comes back. Within three weeks the issue came back and again the brake pedal is almost to the floor. I have taken an appointment with the service dept again and will find out if they come up with some different stories. I am really disappointed first of all with the quality of Acura MDX because I have not driven my car much and it has only around 43K miles and yet I have brake issues. Also, what drives me crazy is that the service dept cant fix the issue although they are so called Acura Specialist which they charge tons of money. I wish they have experienced and certified people to fix cars in the first visit.
Transmission problem at 101,*** miles - bought the car (2002 Acura MDX) used with 55k. Car was reliable until I saw my temp sensor trigger while driving on the freeway. I live in the desert so extremely hot temperatures are common. From what Ive read from former Acura mdx buyers is that transmission failures are common and inevitable. I made sure that the scheduled maintenance was performed to prevent the transmission failure. Im disappointed that even though my transmission had the oil jet kit that supposed to help lubricate gears inside I still have the transmission problem. Acura quoted me 4k dollars to fix it and my transmission specialist wants 3k. I feel like Acura should have these transmission replaced for free especially if you do your scheduled maintenance with them. Im going back to Toyota/Lexus.
I bought the Acura 3.5. It drove well, never had any problems. I gave the car to my daughter and shes still driving it 100000 mi later. The tires are great and interior is beautiful. It has a nice easy functions. Its a four-door 3.5 TL with brown interior and is fabulous looking. The car has a hands-free dialing, moonroof that’s just beautiful at night, cassette deck, CD player and great sound system that just blast on my latest tunes. Nice and roomy for door on the truck app for the size of the car is absolutely big as a tire that goes underneath that fits in that room better replacement for any flat tires that you might get. Great car. I would recommend to anyone.
I love this car, new or used, they are great cars to own and enjoy. The Acura TSX Navi is a great family car. It has enough room for two car seats and another person in the back. It also has spacious legroom all around and expansive trunk space with enough room to haul two strollers and an army of baby items. Excellent gas mileage and beautiful colors make the Acura the perfect car for anyone. Heated seats and mirrors are fantastic in cold weather. The car was also upgraded to a moonroof. Sirius radio was also an added bonus along with navigation. From family models to sports models, Acura cars are fun to drive and luxurious enough to satisfy the pickiest person!
I have a 2010 Acura TL, 6 weeks ago while making a turn the driver side CV Axle cracked and broke disabling the car. I had it towed, $150 30 miles to my mechanic. It took 4 weeks to find a replacement CV Axle. Dealers couldnt get them. Apparently there were only 500 of these Axle setups made for this model - there were 12 available in the entire USA. I was lucky to get one I am told. Now just a week later, my passenger side did the same thing. CV Axle broke. These cars are garbage!!! I am told it could be as long as 8 months, by the dealer mind you, to locate and get a part from Honda!! I am out of a car. Piece of garbage!!! Sell yours and get a well made car, Tonka, Hyundai or Toyota, Ford, Chevrolet!! Anything but this crap!
We bought a certified pre-owned 2019 MDX hyrbid in June 2021, and it is a lemon. Weve had four breakdowns in less than 2,000 miles worth of driving time, all involving components of the car that should not break down in a vehicle that has less than 30,000 miles on it. The car has been in the shop over 40% of the time weve owned it, and we cannot use it for the thing we bought it for - long family road trips - because it breaks down once every couple of weeks. On top of that, Acuras customer service has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. They do not respond to any written communications and make it as difficult as possible to try to resolve your issue. We still have not been compensated for the substantial out of pocket expenses we suffered from the first breakdown in July, which was a life-threatening incident that stranded my family away from home for a day.I bought this car because Acura supposedly has a reputation for great cars and great service. This experience has exposed both of those ideas as lies. Stay far, far away.
Well built: roomy-comfortable interior yet look small from outside. Fun to drive, very responsive. But needs premium gas. After 12 years and 132000 miles, needed new alternator/driver-visor keeps falling down, several lights on dashboard need to be replaced-electrical problems. Acura dealer cant determine whether seatbelt and airbags are good because car computer is not responding!
I have several complaints about Acura and to be more specific, both Acura of Bay Shore and Acura Company. I leased a RDX in 2015. They deceived me in every possible way. Before I went to Acura I had a lease through Nissan and I had 5 months left on that lease. Allison, the sales rep, repeatedly told me that they would pay the 5 months I had on my previous lease as part of the deal. Needless to say, they added the amount of those 5 months to the new lease. The day I sign the contract I was in a hurry and I did not want to go through the whole process and I took responsibility and I am paying for what they told me they would do.One of the selling points was, or is, that Every time you bring your vehicle for service we will wash it for you. Well give you a free car wash every time. When I brought the truck for the first service, I dropped it in the morning around 8am. I did not hear from them until I called around 3:00pm. They said it would be ready in 45 min. When I received the truck it had noticeably some drops of water and all the dirt that it came with when I drop it. So I called the service person. When I showed to him the quality of the job done, he offered to take it back to wash it. Once again, they did not deliver on their promise and deceive me again. And the most recent complaint, which is no fault of Acura of Bay Shore but Acura as a Company, is that due to the recall on the Takata airbag used on my Acura RDX, I have been trying to reach Acura to work with me. My RDX has been parked for a month now and will be until the dealership receives the parts to replace which could be 3 month or a year, according to service manager. In the meantime, they provided me with a rental, a Kia Sedona. I have tried to get a different car, something comparable to what I am paying for. It hurts to pay $475.00 a month and drive a $200.00 dollar a month truck. After one month the car rental place contracted by Acura claims that, they dont have any SUVs available. I have called the Acura Relations Department to negotiate my monthly payments, to lower or stop for the time I am not using the car. They told me they cannot do anything for me and I am to fulfill the contract by paying my monthly lease of $475.00 for something I cant use. I have not been late with any payments since I entered into this contract with Acura. I have fulfill my obligation but ACURA HAS FAIL TO PROVIDE ME WITH A SAFE CAR. I dont expect to resolve this issues in my favor at this point. I just hope that whoever is reading this THINKS TWICE before dealing with Acura Company.
I have owed 8 Hondas/Acuras in the last 30 years. This time my 2011 MDX is burning oil so I called Acura. They said I was under the mileage needed to have to rings and engine rebuilt but my time had expired so TOO BAD. I asked how they contacted me about this problem as they knew about the other 7 cars I owned. They said, Oh we contacted you. I asked how since they had my email, phone number and home address. They could not verify they sent anything. They could not even tell me how they contacted me. So Im going to put on a sandwich board above my car saying I got screwed by Honda/Acura. Ask me how. If this is customer service I wouldnt recommend this company to anyone.
I bought my 2018 RDX and its just less than 2 years. The battery died and I replaced it with Autozone which is less than 300 yards from my stop. Now Acura manager at Torrance told me they do not reimburse me. The manager named Steve at Torrance location (he denied to provide me further info about him) said I should have taken my car to an Acura dealer for a battery replacement. I asked him how and he told me to tow the car there (15 miles away). And I have 2 important customers to meet in about 45 minutes.I explained to him about my situation that I can not cancel my customers. I can not use Uber to leave my car at that neighborhood. The manager named Steve is very impolite. He sounded like I dont care, whatever you say, I am not gonna pay you. At some point, hes kind of sound like he just won over some battle. This is just a battery and I had to go to this rough road. What if some other important part fail? What kind of drama will I (possibly you) have to go thru? I am glad that I was able to make meet my customers. But this Acura client service really irritates me. Acura Manager: Steve (not sure its real or fake, doesnt care much about my situation). His phone: **
Very luxurious ride without the highest costs. Has all the “bells and whistles“ you’d like in a luxury vehicle. Only downside is the cost to upgrade to a tech package that includes built in navigation pkg as opposed to CarPlay where you have to have a good cellphone service.
I have had Acuras since 1987. Most reliable car ever had. And, when there was a problem, both dealer and Acura resolved issue to my complete satisfaction without any hesitation or reservation.
I took my Acura MDX 2011 for its 1st service in Bellevue dealership. They checked and took the car into the service area. When they gave me the car back after service, there was a big windshield crack. When I asked, they said this commonly happens many times and my service manager will have to see and approve for the replacement. After 2 days, the service manager said that it happened before leaving the car for service. The guys said they did not notice it when leaving the car and noticed it after the car wash. This service manager is very rude - I cant replace it; it’s all your fault, he was asking me to claim insurance for this and saying thats what insurance is there for. When I said I will complain to the Acura Company, he said, Nothing is going to happen, do whatever you want. When I asked him to see the cameras, how it was before, he said, I dont have the time for all of this, and hung up the phone. I am thinking of going to a lawyer to handle this with that rude guy.
Absolutely terrible experience at Mission Viejo Acura. I was told that I can do all the paperwork for a lease online/remotely and only after they ran my credit did they tell me and my co-signer (who lives 400 miles away) that we would have to come into the dealership to sign the paperwork and take delivery. This during a pandemic where every dealership delivers cars to peoples homes. I dont understand the ridiculousness of this experience. How is this okay???
I had the four door base model with few features other than the standard package but it felt luxurious to me. The stereo system sounded great. The car felt well put together by the manufacturer. The heating unit was quick to respond after startup. I had the black and when it was polished up would look great at night against the street lights. The all wheel drive made it great for cruising around. I really liked the radio interface. The backseat was also very roomy. I once had three friends in the back for a four hour trip and they were able to survive. There was enough room to make it comfortable.
Car was quality. Ranges from sporty to luxury with nearly unmatched quality. Acura is a dependable brand that offers great styles. I believe it is owned by Honda and has great motors that hold up well. You still see a lot of older models still on the road which validates that Acura is quality and very dependable. I like the integration, NSX and RSX models especially for their unique style and quality. The TL model is nice as well giving you the same look almost as a Lexus but I believe the Acura models are more appealing than Lexus personally. Acuras are easier to personalize or upgrade than most other cars. Almost all brands make parts for Acura which also helps with pricing because parts are so readily available. If you are into showing cars there are endless possibilities. Normal to average, models seat anywhere from 2 to 5 people. The RSX seats 4, the integration seats 4 and the NSX seats 2.
We purchased our Mdx new knowing it was considered a luxury car and expecting it to last a long time without having any major problems. This car has been garage kept and only has 51 K miles on it! Three years ago the AC quit working - that cost several hundred dollars to get repaired. A few days ago the power steering quit. Luckily my husband was driving because he said I would never have been able to steer it safely off the road. He added the correct Honda fluid 3 times in order to make it home. Now we are being told it needs a whole new rack & pinion! How can a luxury car with only 51 K mile need a rack and pinion! We have owned many cars in the last 40 years and have never had to replace this part. The under side of the car is also all rusty. What else will go bad? Poor reliability for what is supposed to be a luxury car. Will not buy another one.
I purchase an Acura RDX 2017 in Dec. 2016. There is a whining sound when I drive around 60 km/hr. This is quite annoying especially since this the average speed when driving in residential areas. No one seems to know the cause of this sound. Has anyone else experienced this annoying sound. Acura will not give me a replacement vehicle and I only have 588 km on this car.
I bought this car new in 2005. Having owned 5 Hondas over the previous 25 years I was sure I was buying a quality vehicle. I could not have been more wrong. The car engine is sound and runs well. But, the car is falling apart around me! *. 2 years in the silver metal covering on the driver door handle began to bubble.*. 2 years in the black trim that surrounds the outside windows began to peel. I took a hairdryer to it and peeled it all off revealing a nice shiny silver edge. So those were easily fixed by me and everything was well. Then year 5 happened and it has been all downhill since. *. Leather seats began to crack and tear. *. Seat warmer on drivers side no longer works. *. Navigation system went down. *. Battery consistently dies if not driven for 2 or more days. Batteries have been checked and rechecked by 3 different companies. *. Dash computer is dead. I cannot set the clock. Every time the battery dies the clock resets to a different time. Bluetooth gone. *. And then we are driving down the road and Im in the passenger seat and I see something move on the dash. I look closer... ITS CRACKING!!! It split from the window all the way down to just above the glove box in about 30 minutes. It has since split on the drivers side.*. Poor quality paint. We are two women in our 50s. We have had this car detailed every year since we bought it. It does not sit out in the sun very often. We own a 1998 Subaru Forrester with leather seats that it showing very little wear and tear and has 80,000 more miles then the Acura. Both cars have been well maintained and cared for. The Acura cost $20,000 more than the Subaru. Our nephew still drives our 86 Honda Accord, it has had an engine and transmission replaced and has over 300,000 miles on it. The interior looks better than the Acura. We thought we were buying a luxury sedan. I am embarrassed by this car and very disappointed in its quality. Too bad because we were loyal Honda owners for many years, NO MORE! Im buying a Subaru Outback next time.
Please be accurate with my statement? Absolutely. I purchased a 2005 Acura Rl, 4 recalls, the FAKE leather after 3 years had peeled and separated on the seats, arm rests on a $45,000 vehicle! The plastic door handles have broken causing for the whole door rest to be required to be replaced just to fix the handles. The cd radio hasnt worked since 2006. I also have a 2009 Acura rdx which also the radio doesnt work, just laughable $35,000 vehicle. You hear everything going on inside and outside of it, from screws to air. You hear it all. Im so done with Acura. My feelings were already hurt when they took the Legend name plate away in the USA. I am so, so disappointed and Lexus will be my new friend.
Whether youre looking for a car with speed and lots of power or a family car, Acura has what you are looking for. They have any variety you could think of - minivans, compact cars, coupes, SUV. They include navigation systems, internal and outer cameras so you know you have a safe distance from others. You can personalize and add more options to your car such as style, color, extras included. They also have a lot of options for the right car for you. Whether you need lots of space or just a little, they have it all. I have 3 kids so I needed something with lots of space and I found exactly what I was looking for. Love these cars. Very stylish and safe family cars. Very minimal to no problems. Would highly recommend.
This is my first time owning an Acura. My experience with it is a positive one. I love the all the features of the Acura, I enjoy driving my newly purchased vehicle. This vehicle is a luxury suv. It has navigation, XM radio activation, a sunroof, an awesome back up camera, and other amazing features that cater to the drivers need. But I would love for my suv to have a hatch that is motion sensored on the bottom of the car though, so that I can open to back hands free.
I leased a new 2018 Acura ILX, with 20 miles on the car. Drove home, and fitting and finish is below average at best. No spare tires, very cheap. After 2 weeks. the fuel gauge is still at full level, added a tank full of gas, well, it still shows full :-), contacted Acura client service, they suggest to tow the car to dealer for repair, called dealer, told to local Honda dealer for help? Dont lease Acura ILX like me, because I have to drive around to dealer, waste all the miles and plus the time to get a new car fixed. The car is louder, rough at low speed and they want 30000 dollars for it. Is this what Acura has become?
2016 Acura TLX only 69000 miles noise coming from timing belt, after taking to dealership the dealer came back that they don’t know what happened but the noise of coming from one of bully’s rubbing on the cover /camshaft so they will be installing a SHIM, what kind of repair is this? A 2016 acura cover under till 70K warranty. The dealer come back and said this will not be covered even though they will be taking the timing belt off and installing their SHIM. Called Acura. 3 hours on the phone and all they did and will do is give me the run around. Very disappointing with Acura.
The transmission broke on my Acura TLX and the cost of replacement is $8400! This car has a long history of transmissions problems and recalls. The dealer so called fixed the issue of the transmission with very minimal work under warranty then 10000 miles later, new problems came up after warranty expired and now the dealer is saying it needs complete replacement. Now I am stuck with a $8400 bill. I will never buy any Acura car again. Acura does not stand by their product or do the right thing by the customer! The top people making decisions at this organization are ruthless and have no loyalty to their customers.
My Acura TL 2014 model was purchased new and I never had a black vehicle but always seen black cars and they looked great. The vehicle has a V6 engine and plenty of power and the style is sleek, aerodynamic curves and it a great vehicle. The only issue I have are the tire sensors fail consistently and these are a nuisance as I have my own pressure gauge to measure the tire pressure. The vehicle rides so smoothly on various roads while steering is very comfortable and ease to control the vehicle. Overall I recommend this vehicle but my taste has changed in terms of car type. I would like to pursue a mid sized SUV in the future.
2012 Acura TL Power steering fails. From the airbag recall to the transmission recall I can handle. Now the fact that my power steering suddenly seizes and leaves me in the middle of an intersection with a non functional vehicle I cannot handle. The answer? Pay to have the EPS replaced. Now, going on blogs this is a COMMON issue and should be a recall warranty issue! Not self pay. Someone is going to die until Acura/Honda notices. Its not right. I have been a Honda or Acura owner for years. I will tell you, this will be my last. It is dangerous and someone will die then they might listen.
2004 MDX - Around 100,000, the radiator broke. Around 110,000, the auto transmission was toasted. $4,600 to fix. Just last week, power steering pump leaked. Who could ask more, anything more?
Hoping someone might have some insight on this... I bought a TLX October 2015 and babied it. A few weeks ago my husband asked me what I hit, because he noticed spidering of the paint to the front bumper. I know that I didnt hit anything, but I figured sure, theres a chance someone hit my car. But the more I looked at it, it appears that theres a bubble in the paint, and then the spidering is stemming from that. The bizarre part is that the clear coat is flawless; not an imperfection or scratch. Wouldnt one think if something hit it enough to cause a bubble and spidering, then the clear coat (which took the impact) would be affected? I took it to the Bedford Acura where I purchased it. The mechanic looked at it and said it was probably from impact, its $275 to repaint that half of the bumper. The manager then looked at it and said I agree with you (myself), thats odd, if there was impact there should be damage to the clear coat. He took a picture and sent it to the regional sales rep and today I received a phone call back that they believe its from stress impact and its not covered in warranty. I know Im not paint or car specialist, but Im truly having a hard time accepting this, so hoped others might have insight... but Im very unhappy with the mixed opinions Ive had, and the instant rejection by the company. I will certainly be pursuing this further! Not sure if this factors in (I mentioned it at my most recent visit but they said it was totally unrelated), but December 2016 I came out to my car and noticed a silver plastic accent piece on that same side had just popped out from the bumper; the clips holding it in place were broken. Again, there was no surrounding damage, and no damage to the piece itself other than the inner clips having broken off. I took it in and they replaced that piece. Im now starting to wonder if theres something wrong with the whole bumper itself and thats whats causing all of these non-impact problems! And Im rather address it before it is out of warranty. Ugh.
Even knowing what you are looking for, looking at the various models at the Acura dealership is helpful and exciting. Knowing what features are included in which models is a must going forward. The sleek lines and smooth new-car finish is just the beginning in your hunt for decisions and choices. The backing camera and individual temperature controls are a must. Color, features, accouterments, specifications - the wonderful decisions you get to make are just part of the incredible journey. Decisions like these are always fun! Passenger capacity is always something to be considered when choosing a vehicle. I would always expect at least a 5-passenger vehicle. This was easily accomplished. The best part of my year.
The Acura CL is the most reliable car I have ever owned. The only thing that goes wrong is the normal wearing of parts. Its a 1997 car and was totaled once, but I had it towed so a new transmission could be installed and it runs perfectly. For a 1997 vehicle it has automatic door locks so I can lock and unlock the doors from a distance. It also enables you to open your trunk as you approach the car, especially helpful when your arms are full of items. It has a sunroof which is always nice to have. The things that would improve the car are things available in todays cars, like a Bluetooth connection for your cell phone or a GPS that will give you directions. Heated seats would be nice and better speakers for the radio and CD player.
The Acura has a variety of different cars and usually all fuel efficient. When I purchased my car I looked at a variety of Nissans and chose the Acura due to the fuel efficiency of the product. I have a black model and love it. It is shiny and always stays shiny. I like the red color in this car. I did not do any upgrades on my Acura since I was trying to keep the cost down, but many are available. The best one in my opinion is the navigation system. The passenger capacity is also good and sits 5 including the driver. I dont think you can get better than that but I am completely satisfied with it. I am very happy with my Acura.
Acura is a really nice car, has good quality and it drives great. It also looks great on the outside and inside. It has one of a kind color, has great features and no other cars have classy looking. You can choose from up to date technology and it has great choices for your lifestyle. In addition, it has plenty of room for passengers. I have SUV so I can fit my whole family. Theres a lot of room when I go to the grocery shop or store. Overall, its a great car inside and out. I love this car and I would buy it again. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an awesome car.
My name is Paul **. I am one of the many owners of 3rd generation (2004-2008) Acura TLs who are experiencing significant cracks in the passenger side dashboard, and resulting SRS indicator lights suggesting a potentially dangerous airbag problem. Most of us have contacted dealers and Acura corporate headquarters for assistance and have uniformly been told the parts are not defective and the damage results from normal wear and tear. We know this to be a lie and believe Acura knows it also.A small number of us have received partial payment as compensation, the majority have been rudely dismissed without any offer of help. Acura steadfastly refuses to admit the parts were defective at installation and, for years, has refused to make the needed replacement or repairs. This must end. I think Acura has been successful at denying our claims because they have been too fragmented to gain public attention. It seems that in the absence of popular and media pressure, the company has been able to conceal its bad faith and behavior. Its time to expose them.I suggest creating a common website or forum where those already and yet to be affected can post their complaints and condemn Acuras dishonorable conduct. Then we can gain wider and more focused access to a larger influential audience. It may not persuade Acura to act honestly and responsibly but it certainly can influence consideration of all Honda products. Our intent would not be to further injure the companys reputation; instead we will attempt to return it to responsive customer service. Please join me in getting this started by suggesting ways to establish direct contact with one another.
I use this car mostly in the city so for its purpose it is solid. However when I do hit the highway there is no question I am secure in this vehicle. Performance: not the best off the mark but it handles well. Put some snow tires on and your good all winter. ACURA is part of the HONDA family and I am a Honda fan so I felt confident in this purchase. This car is a mid level SUV which stands up very well. It drives not as smoothly as some higher end makes but certainly delivers a quality comfortable ride. The Nav system needs work and maybe theyve fixed it since my 2014 but for now I dont get to use it. I drive off my phone instead. I cant really speak to gas consumption as I drive very little but so far, is reasonable.
In two years we have never had an issue with the Acura. Other than a little road noise it has been very dependable with more than adequate power and performance. This is a 2017 model AWD with the 6 cyl engine.
I own a 2006 Honda Pilot and 2009 Honda Accord with over 260,000 miles and no major issues. I decided to upgrade to an Acura considered their luxury brand and I am living to regret it. I have owned a 2012 Acura TSX for 4 years - kept up with routine maintenance and lucky me I have had issue after issue costing me thousands. I have had to replace the CV joints, converter, power steering control module and the transmission. Overall costs to date - $9500 and not done yet. My Hondas are still working and my Acura TSX - is constantly breaking down. Such a nightmare. Will never purchase another Acura. Buyer beware!!
Acura has comfortable luxury cars ranging from small sedans to SUV. I own the TL which is a luxury sedan with a V6 engine. They also have an Acura RL which is even more luxurious and the Acura MDX which is a luxury SUV. Acura has very good looking cars that are very comfortable, along with many luxury features. Seat warmers, air conditioning, hands free link, customizable seat adjustment, a huge trunk, leather seats. In the Acura TL you can customize your temperature, your seat position, and the side mirrors. The Acura MDX you can get leather interior and automatic locks. The Acura TL has a ton of space in the backseat and also has a ton of space in the front seat and also has a giant trunk. You can seat 5 people very comfortably. The Acura MDX seats 5 people with even more space in the front and in the back.
Paint is falling off rear bumper. What once appeared to be a little scratch has spread to become an ugly scar. I would assume that the paint would be more durable than this.
Upon purchasing my 2015 Acura TLX, I was not told that Acura and Apple iPhones do not play nice with each other. At the time I had an iPhone 5S and now have an iPhone 8 and neither work with my cars hands-free dialing. I have carefully entered contact names and voice tags into my speed dial list but when I speak the name John **, up comes a list of names starting with Mary **. Acura offers no fix. Quite the deal from a so-called luxury care.
The Cars for Credit lot is a great place to go for any type of consumer. They are very easy to deal with even without much of a down payment. The design of teh car is much more stylish than past years but maintains the durability and functionality. A great brand for anyone interested in a quality automobile. You can get a lot of additional great features for customized personalization. They do everything possible to maintain quality. There is plenty of leg and head room for all the passengers to ride comfortably. A great overall ride.
I have just recently purchased a new 2016 MDX and currently have 3100 miles on the vehicle. I have some major concerns in which I am very worried about. I just went to the local supermarket for a few minutes went back to my car and tried to start it up. The transmission seemed to be locked into place the brake was very hard and the car would not start. I tried to start the vehicle up three times and it would not move. Eventually I called my husband and he came down, got into the vehicle and it started. Yet when I reached my home the event started again. Also the transmission seems to be jolting as if it is going in and out of gear. Another concern is that when it is cold sometimes when I turn the wheel to the left, it is as if there is not enough fluid where it is very rough. I had a CRV before this vehicle with 90 000 miles and I never had an ounce of a problem. Yet I have owned Mercedes vehicles and Audis and I thought they were problems. I hope this MDX does not top the German cars.
I bought a new 1991 Acura Integra LS on 7 Dec. 1991. With the purchase, I received several warranties. One of the warranties included the free replacement of a 2nd muffler. I have been a loyal customer of McConnell Acura for 20+ years. I took my car in for service on 17 July and asked the advisor to check the engine because the car was difficult to start. I also asked the advisor to check the AC and muffler. The technician found faulty spark plugs and a clogged PVC hose and valve. They also wanted to retrofit my AC from R12 to R134A. The car is in good shape, so I agreed. The advisor did not mention anything about the muffler. When I picked my vehicle up and paid the invoice, I asked the advisor if there was a replacement warranty on a 2nd muffler. She stated that she had asked her management and there was a replacement warranty on the older vehicles. I called McConnell Acura on 24 July 2012 to schedule an appointment to have my muffler checked. I spoke with another advisor. She scheduled my appointment for 27 July 2012 at 10am. When I arrived on 27 July, the Acura service advisor called the Honda service advisor and based on their conversation, she told me that the muffler replacement warranty covered rust and leaks in the muffler. I gave her the key and went to the waiting area. After about 30 minutes, the advisor came and told me that I did not need a muffler. There were no leaks or rust. I asked again when I reached the counter and she confirmed that there were no rust or leaks. I asked for a printout and left.I was skeptical of McConnell Acuras determination because I felt I was being ignored and dismissed. So, the afternoon of 27 July 2012, I went to another auto shop and took pictures of my muffler that shows rust, deterioration and a hole. I am only asking McConnell Acura to honor a warranty agreement that was made almost 21 years ago when I bought the vehicle.
Acura has many different styles of which I chose one that was underrated and I was correct about the style being underrated. I was luckily judging by the quality. This car has a great design on the steering wheel as well as fast working brakes which lead to a safe drive and this makes me feel safer at night or plain daylight. The upgrade is as amazing as rescuing a cow from a trapped low quality fence. It is always an amazing thing to look forward towards when it comes to cars. Plus this vehicle can hold up to 5 people at once. It can hold more if squeezed in or even if little children were to be put in.
Gunn Acura sends emails to customers saying No Appointment Needed, Service for 1 hour or less. This is false. According to Gunn Service Mgr. it takes 1.5 hours or more. Staff not friendly. Over promise their commitments. Overpriced. Not buying another Acura again.
I purchased a new 2021 Acura TLX on Dec 6th, 2020. Around 7500 miles the car steering rack started to make a noise. I recorded the video and sent it to my local Acura dealership (Vandergriff Acura). They said other Acura had the same issues and I need to get the steering rack assembly changed. The part was back ordered and it couldnt be fixed right away. After 4-5 months of wait the part was back in stock and Vandergriff installed the whole new steering rack assembly. The car at that point only had 14,000 miles. I took the car back to Vandergriff 3 times because the car wasnt going straight. The first time it was pulling to the left and the next two times pulling to the right. Ithen took it to another dealer in my area, Goodson Acura. They performed an alignment for free and said the issue is fixed. I drove the car right after and again the issue was there. The car keeps going to the left. The sensors in the car has be reset and still the car doesnt go straight. I contacted Acura Client Relations and Sue from CA called me back. She called me 3 weeks ago. She mentioned she will call me back and let me know if I can bring the car into the dealership. Three weeks in and reaching out to her three times already, she hasnt called me back. I am getting frustrated I have a new car and it drives worst than my 2021Mazda 3. I will never buy a car from Acura again. I will stick with Audi and/or BMW. The contact number for the Acura Clients relationship person is 1-800-999-1009 ext **.
Luxury, comfort, power, economy and best dealerships! Its fun to drive and handles well, also looks classy and stylish. The main thing its made by HONDA, that says volumes. My wife and I took a long car trip and she said this is the first time on a car trip her back didnt get sore. Total Reliability, also MADE IN AMERICA.
I was driving on the freeway at about 60 MPH, keeping up with morning traffic on US101N, when my ACURA MDX 2011 suddenly stalled. I was pressing my foot on the accelerator but it would not go faster; in fact, it started slowing down. I was able to coast off to an exit, luckily, and then the car completely stalled, and would not start back up again. The dealership, Acura of Marin happened to be right there, and I had bought the car from them, Certified used, just 5 months prior. Although the service department was really great, and my car was under warranty, I sold the car back to them at a loss. Turned out it was a faulty/defective fuel pump. They called it bad; I call it defective. I was lucky that neither my children and I who were in the car, nor anyone else got hurt at the time of incident. No warning lights ever came on. Would not buy another Acura again.
My 2010 MDX 3.7L Engine has been consuming 1 quarts of oil for every 800 miles driven. At 125,000 miles the number 2 cylinder is reading 58 PSIs. The other cylinders are reading 205 with a pressure gauge. The engine is now ruined and I have to replace the engine at 125,000 miles. Honda is aware of the problem and has done nothing. Never a Honda/Acura product again.
2007 Acura MDX Elite - I have had battery issues also, kept boosting drained battery; then took to dealer for testing. The problem was a parasitic drain caused by the phone link component in steering wheel, this is a $741 part. I choose to disconnect the device instead without any further issue. In response to some of you who have had shock and strut problems, I replaced the with after market products, cost $185 + labour per unit (dealer cost $740 per for rear, $1000 for front struts). So yes, after market works just dandy and by the way, this is the first shock/strut replacement after 248,000km, all hard cdn driving.
I purchased an Acura Care certified extended warranty when I purchased my MDX from the Acura dealership. However, just before my warranty was set to expire, my car broke down due to a seized motor. I had the vehicle towed to Acuras service center, Pleasanton Automotive, because the vehicle was still under warranty. They dismantled the entire motor, called Acura Care who sent an inspector, and the inspector determined that Acura Care would not cover the repairs because the vehicle was damaged due to negligence. At this point, I would like to note that I have kept up with the preventive maintenance on the MDX - regular Mobil 1 synthetic oil changes and vehicle inspections done at Walmart, and regular tune-ups and inspections done at my ex-husbands automotive service shop. The Acura Care inspector said he determined that my car had been run without oil which caused the motor to become extremely overheated and seize. However, not once did my car show any indication of overheating, nor was it ever run without oil. When questioned, the Acura service advisor confirmed that the oil was full, there were no metal shavings found in the oil, and the vehicle did not have any leaks. The Acura representatives have verbally blamed Walmart for the damage, but they refuse to put the accusations in writing. Now, Acura is saying that I have to pay almost $9000 for a new motor and labor, but I still believe all costs should be covered under the extended warranty.
My exterior door panels have warped 3 separate times and now the 4th time. Acura (2015 Acura RDX) has a defective material and now fails to stand behind their product. This has also happened to my 2016 Honda Accord. I know numerous people that own the same products and they too have warped panels. Acura will not stand behind their product. I am so finished with this company. I own 3 Acura’s and a Honda! I’m finished with them.
I purchased my 2006 Acura TL on 7/13/12. When I purchased my vehicle, I was told some issues were fixed with it regarding brakes and computer. I was told everything was fixed. I was also told by Rich that the salesperson would show me how to use my navigation and pair my phone to my car via bluetooth. As far as the bluetooth issue, the salesperson tried to help me pair it to the car. But the bluetooth asked for a code that the original owner setup and no one knew it. They said they would try to contact the original owner. I have been waiting since I purchased the vehicle. Today, I spoke to Rich in person about my issue (who has not returned any of my phone calls) who is the sales manager and he told me in a rude way, I am not fixing it. I spent over $2,000 in that car to get the lights off and that is your problem, not mine. And he said this after I told him the vehicle was advertised that it has bluetooth and I wanted it fixed. I told him I was going to make a complaint and he said that isnt going to do anything. As far as the check engine light issue, that car has been to Acura three times within the past three weeks. The last time, I dropped it off which was the 3rd time on approximately around 6/28/12 to fix the engine light issue and to do an alignment. I was then told the light has something to do with the computer and the brakes which I was promised was fixed before I bought the car. They gave me a loaner and I was told it should only take about 2 or 3 days. Then, I was promised that car would be done on 7/5/12 and it still wasnt. And when I picked it up today on 7/9/12, I have different lights on and my VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) lights are on and are not working. The salesperson apologized and said he would get with the service manager Carl who I spoke to multiple times and made promise when my car would be finished and was not. Right now, I am very disappointed on how a luxury dealer treats their customers and not take ownership of their issues. I want my car fixed without waiting a week and my bluetooth unlocked.
I am a huge fan of Acura as well as Samsung and anything about cars and electronics intrigues me. I own a TSX ACURA year of 2010, I am greatly in love with it. Acura has a nice sleek look that make it different from other cars on the road today in 2016. The best part about it that it is luxury but not too expensive, great running car and very dependable. Plus you can fit one person in your front seat and 3 in the back with enough seat belts for everyone. I like factory items on an Acura to keep it classy, however, I did spice up my TSX up with some custom wheels, black and chrome. They go great with the car and makes it look like a combination of sport and luxury. However, I have had an issue with the navigation system draining too much battery causing my battery to go dead frequently.
Very displeased for how Acura does not stand by their product and does not value a repeating customer. I have purchased 4 Acuras in the last 10 years and am sad to say I will not purchase another. In 2010 I bought a 2009 Acura TL and here recently in the past year I have had issues with the rubber seals around all the windows, windshield and around all moldings on the outside of the car. I have explained to the dealership and a customer care manager at Acura Care services what my issues are and that my car is garage kept away from all natural elements. The window moldings have completely melted away leaving an inch gap between the door frame and window on all doors which allows water to fall freely within the door. Also cold/hot air flows into the car due to this so having the air turned on high in either condition is a must. When Acura Care was contacted and a case was opened I was advised due to the cars age they will not help at all. I asked if the pictures that were taken at the dealership were looked at. They replied that no pictures were seen or sent by dealership but the decision has been made. They will not be able to do anything for me. I again said that it isnt like I have been tampering with the seals or weather stripping but it is literally melting away to the touch and flying off the car as I am driving, again no concern was shown by the Acura Care Case Manager. Again I have purchased 4 Acura cars but WILL NOT BE DOING SO AGAIN EVER. VERY DISSATISFIED AND SAD TO KNOW THAT ACURA DOES NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT! I have a 98 Ford F-150 that stays in the TEXAS heat 365 days of the year and have never experienced this or anything near this on it. Yes it is a 09 but just barely has over 100k miles on it and is garage kept. Product is faulty and ACURA knows that is why they dont stand by their product or value true customers.
I own a 2013 Acura RDX AWD tech everything about is perfect. Great power, great gas mileage, comfort and reliability. All the technology it has is endless. Anybody I’ve talked to who owns this car loves it. I look forward to getting in every time. The leather and fit and finish is as good as it gets.
For a first time buyer I find it reliable and luxurious compared to other I tested drive. At first I must admit I was a bit hesitant on purchases because, originally my first two choices were BMW or a Chrysler. I test drive them both, the BMW was M3. Was enjoyable but it was missing something and Chrysler I thought would eat up a lot more gas and less comfortable. So when my last option I was hesitant but when I tested it. I felt right there this was it the one I would buy. Beautiful interior design but it could be a bit more glamorous. Its not as nice as a BMW but its great for a first time buyer. Somewhat roomy depending on size and weight of individual. I do unfortunately have a friend is a bit heavyset who seats in the passenger seat to have more room but even pushing back seat is not enough, so it would be nice to have more legroom for heavyset people. The stereo is wonderful and car floats as if I am flying. Very spacious whether going shopping or traveling out of town. Its very roomy for luggage or my purchases. Im also have many envious friends who want my car because of the comfort it has compare to theirs. The air conditioner and heater are wonderful. Not to mention the stereo to plug in your phone or MP3 are topnotch compared to other models. But one of the best would be GPS which is one best feature in the car.
We purchased a new Bellanova White 2015 Acura TLX in June. We noticed that there were runs and pits or dimples in the paint in several areas of the car. After contacting the dealer, they took the car in to repair the paint run. The service manager took pictures and sent them to the Regional Rep who approved repainting the runs, but since a camera could not pick up the pits, the Rep said that he would have to personally inspect the vehicle. The service manager told us that his staff would inspect the entire vehicle and he sent it out to have the runs and pits repainted. After having our car for about 2 months, the pits in the paint are still not fixed by the dealer. The regional rep, who was scheduled to personally inspect our car on Oct 20, 2015 cancelled the viewing and to our knowledge has never seen the vehicle. We have contacted the Acura corporate office and they notified us that Acura will not take any responsibility for the pitting/dimples in the paint and they dont consider it a defect. BUYER BEWARE!!! Our only option at this time is to report this matter to the State Attorney General and apply for a solution through the states Lemon Law. My wife and I have owned 8 Hondas/Acuras since the 80s including 1 new RSX and 3 new TLs/TLX. This is the most disappointing new car, or used car purchase either of us have ever experienced. As I said earlier, BUYER BEWARE!
I got RDX 2018 model. I mainly tells what this lacks compare to other non-suv models. I expected decent options when I say word Acura or luxurious model. Rear passenger leg room is so small, my old Toyota Camry got much larger leg space. Acura provided two 12 v chargers. Guess what, they are cigarette lighting chargers. If any passenger want to charge their phone, they need to buy compatible charger. What a life! No power windows for passengers. No telescopic steering wheel, means no adjustments. Now, good things about this one, smooth transmission ride, power steering control, vehicle stability, and its sleek look and design suggestion, compare option from similar vehicle class and buy!
I had the experience of buying two cars from Paragon. The prices were good and the service when Kevin was there was great. I recently had a problem with another car of which I called Acura client relation and treated so bad by Katrina. Acura instead of moving forward had moved backed. Katrina was very rude and UN-professional. She stated that since I did not buy the Acura she would have not spoken to me, but when the owner was on the same call with all of us she stated she still will not speak to me. I remembered when a family members buys a car, it doesnt matter who calls. We as customers should be treated with respect just as how they would like to be treated. Acura has declined both with service and their cars. Katrina assumes she does favor for Acura customers but in reality if Acura customer never bought cars there will be no purpose for Katrina having a job. Treat customers with respect and yes, Katrina your call is monitored, but just to let you know you are the one that was very rude and UN-professional. It’s a shame that you carry the Acura name.
I have a 2016 RDX. Great car. Drives well. Nice features. But really awful tech that reminds me almost every day that Acura has not been able to fix the multiple IT problems in over a year. Bluetooth will not connect correctly. Car will attempt to make calls (to my phone) intermittently. Goes to mute when all screens and audio become non-functional... Overall, I would choose a different brand as IT is so integral to the function of a car now, and Acura has completely failed in my case.
I recently purchased a new 2019 Acura RDX a-spec and have been experiencing continuous issues and malfunctions with the infotainment system. Issues include system freezing, Calls not ending, unable to access navigation or apple car play, System remains on (sometimes all day) when car is shut off. System will shut off while driving and lock out of all functions. Loud screeching over speakers at random. Unable to adjust volume with steering wheel controls, etc. Several of these things I was able to document on video. I was instructed by the service manager to disconnect the battery and allow car to sit for 10-15 min before reconnecting. This sometimes resolves for a short period before the issues resurface again. Not to mention, a step that no owner of a brand new luxury brand vehicle should have to do. I recently took my car into Acura for service and they ended up keeping the car for 2 days to try and troubleshoot the issues. This is what the Service Rep sent me: Hey Tony, I got word back from my area rep that he has to cross reference the data with the field engineer to see if they feel like changing the infotainment system will address the concern or not. Some of the symptoms are known issues but have not had a fix developed yet, but we want to be sure we exhaust all options. After all that, they were unable to fix or replace anything. I was told that Acura is working on future software updates that they can push out to everyone, but for the time being, there is nothing that I can do. I feel like I bought a lemon that is probably dropping tremendously in value due to these ongoing issues. I would strongly avoid purchasing an Acura RDX and any other Acura with the same Infotainment platform. Acura RDX Owner Tony **
I know it’s a huge review but please read it before you make a decision to buy Acura ILX! Maybe it will help you to change your mind! Since the moment I bought a brand new Acura ILX 2020 as a pleasure car in July 2020, I have already visited Prime Acura Dealership 10 times. The main issue – is a loud clunking noise that coming from the front side of the vehicle so you can feel it in the floor when tapping the gas while cruising and also from the passenger’s side and also hesitation while driving. All these problems occurred when the mileage on the car was about 3500 miles. To solve the issues, the dealership made a decision to replace the right axel (twice) and the intermediate shaft. They unsuccessfully tried to resolve the issue with the noise two times. When I came back to the dealership with the same problem the 3rd time, they told me that the noise is actually a normal characteristic of the vehicle. When I asked them why it was considered abnormal before and now it became normal, the mechanic told me that he didn’t know this particular model very well at that point. When I tried to look for a help in the other dealerships, I had received the same answer – the noise is the normal characteristic and the car is acting as designed. When I came back to the dealership with the same problem (it was my 6th time) the mechanic with more than 20 years of experience at Acura, who did a test drive, told me that the main reason of the noise could be transmission defect and that, possibly, there is a transmission replacement required. But after couple days of working with my car, the manager of the dealership got back to me with the answer that the car is acting normal. I have a camera in my car that recording 24/7, and the moment where the mechanic mentioned the transmission defect was recorded. But when I came home and check my recordings, I found out that that particular piece is missing. I have never had any issues with my camera before! Unfortunately, nobody from the dealership was able to explain me how that happened. To my great luck, I forgot to switch my clock to winter time, and because of that I have all the videos that I thought have been deleted. I decided not to give up and made an appointment with the engineer at Prime Acura. I requested a joint test drive with him, but at the dealership they told me that this is impossible because of the COVID-19. It was weird to me, because they allowed joint test drives with the mechanics but no with the engineers. When I realized that nobody at Prime Acura wants to help me, I went to the independent licensed mechanics who confirmed that the problem exists –“ there are hesitation during acceleration and thumping noise during up shifts, problem is indicated as internal transmission or TCM programming issue”. It was exactly the same words that the mechanic at Acura said to me before they changed their minds. One day I couldn’t start my car, because the battery died (Brand new car!). I had to ask my husband to jump the car and rafter that I went to the Prime Acura right away. The mechanic performed the test and told me that the battery died because it was defective. They replaced the battery, but 3 weeks later I found out that my camera was not recording in the parking mode, although it was before the battery was replaced. The mechanics who installed the camera told me that the battery voltage falls below 12 volts and the camera stops the recording. I came back to Prime Acura to ask what battery they installed, because before the replacement there were no issues with the camera whatsoever. The answer that I received was the power capacity of the battery is small and the camera is too heavy for it. When I asked them why it never happened to my old battery they just tried to avoid to answer the question and only repeated that the battery is too small.I tried to look up the problem and found a few articles about the camera, stating that the camera can’t kill the battery. I sent those to the Prime Acura rep. I just wanted to get answers on my questions but instead I received very rude email from him where he says that he doesn’t want to continue the conversation. Bottom line, I haven’t seen worse customer service that was provided by Prime Acura. They haven’t fixed my problem, they haven’t shown any desire to help or at least sympathy and respect towards me as the client. I DO NOT RECOMMEND to buy Acura ILX! This 26k purchase only gave me a huge headache and a lot of stress, humiliation and prejudice of my customer and human rights. Acura doesn’t stand by their product or does the right thing by the customer! The actual quality doesn’t comply with stated, car warranty is nothing but a joke and the “premium class” is just a dial tone.
Bought a 2017 RDX Advance only to find out that 1/2 the features will not work without purchasing Acura link. Has been almost a week trying to set it up because they put in a wrong email address. It still doesnt work! I have found them to be unhelpful, and incompetent! Hands down my worst car buying experience! Like the RDX. Hate the customer care.
As an owner of an Acura MDX I must express my sincere disappointment with the companys customer service (or lack thereof). The dealer from whom I bought my car lost its contract with Acura. (This can happen.) Acura has never contacted me to advise as to where I should take the vehicle for warranty work. The nearest Acura dealer is a 2 hour (one way) drive for me, but an certified Honda dealer is only 10 minutes away.Acura now sends me a recall notice informing me a bolt needs to be replaced. The Honda dealer tells me they can do the work, but it will be covered by Acura only with prior authorization. Acura denies authorization and will require me to undertake a 4 hour trip to effect this recall. Oh and it took Acura 4 weeks and multiple calls on my part to decide my request to deal with the Honda dealer would be denied. Never once did Acura return my call. Oh. Acura did send me a letter to wish me a Happy Anniversary in recognition of my Acura Ownership. Based upon their lack of caring, and lack of responsiveness, I would never purchase another Acura!
My family has been a loyal Honda customer for 30+ years and 6+ Honda cars. Weve loved their reliability and dependability. That being said, it is unfortunate that I have had a negative experience with most my recent vehicle. I drive a certified pre-owned 2012 Acura TL Tech Package, which I purchased in 2014. Since the purchase, the car has driven very well, showing no indication of any issues. Though I purchased this vehicle in a metroplex, I live in a rural area. I drive 60 miles round-trip to and from work. Last Wednesday, while driving on a rural highway between offices, the car lost all power without any warning traveling at 75mph. The RPM dial went crazy, and then the check engine lights flickered (check charge system, check ABS, check VSA). Luckily, I was able to pull over to the shoulder. I let it run, hoping it would stay on until I could get assistance. After about 5 minutes, it shut down completely. I was stranded in between 2 small towns on a rural highway with spotty cell phone coverage plus the inconvenience of missing work. I could not restart the car—absolutely no lights came on. Thankfully, I was able to contact a tow service to tow the car back to my house (28 miles away). I assumed the battery was the issue and replaced it, which worked for 5 minutes before it was completely drained. I live 350 miles from the nearest Acura dealer, so I had to tow it there. When I got it to Acura on Saturday, they ran diagnostics on the car and determined it was a faulty alternator, covered by my extended warranty and fixed the problem. My main concern with this situation is that there was no warning whatsoever to alert me of a problem. Had I been alerted, I would have acted proactively to prevent this from occurring, especially since I live so far from a dealer. I can only imagine how much worse this could have been had it happened in the middle of the night in this rural area, or if this happened on a 5-lane highway in a big city during the morning or evening commute. When I mentioned the lack of warning to the Acura service guy, he said, “Sometimes there is no warning on these things.” That is a problem. There should always be some form of warning before a relatively new vehicle is malfunctioning. Acura needs to determine why their vehicles are not warning the drivers of potential repairs for the safety of its drivers and all other drivers.
Acura continues to advertise that the ILX has more headroom than the TSX, and many competitors. I have been to Acura Headquarters and they refuse to discuss this. I wonder what else they are lying about?
When driving on a highway in a snow storm my dash lights up like crazy telling me that the Collision Mitigation and adaptive cruise control has stopped working. The voice on the warning said to turn off the engine and restart it. If this didnt help see the dealer. When I went to Pauly Acura to find out about the problem I was told that was normal. When I called Acura directly I was told to check the owners manual and basically this is normal. We bought the car for its safety features. Wouldnt you want all features to work in bad weather? I asked what Acura was doing to correct the problem and was told nothing. I asked to talk to a supervisor and the lady I talked to would not connect me. My other car has the same type of system and works perfect in bad snow storms. This TLX 2015 with 3000 miles on it is not as good as our old 2001 or 2006. If I knew that this safety system had a problem I would of bought a different car. Who reads the owners manual before they buy a new car?
I started my 2012 TSX and got intermittent flashing of my check power steering system, total loss of power steering physically. I asked Acura for concession and they declined. I havent been able to drive my car cause of unsafe amount of force to turn steering wheel at low speeds. Also, the estimate was outrageous. $740 just for the new EPS control module. I find other failures of 2012 TSX EPS, one of them is here on this site, Victoria of Millstone Township NJ. Another failure on Acurazine blog site, found it through google search of electronic power steering failure 2012 TSX.
Bought the Acura TL as a CPO. Good value. No real issues except for a couple of minor computer parts that needed to be replaced. Now have 127k miles on it and have owned it for 9 years. 2005 model year. Best body style... Do not like the newer ones, style wise.
Acura almost put the highest quality in their vehicles. They have models such as Acura MDX, RDX, and many more. The appearance is very stylish and the features are great. They come with the latest technology and everything to make your drive comfortable and safe. The upgrades are always top notch and I never have to worry about the quality. The personalization options are the best I have seen. I love being able to customize it the way I want. The passenger capacity is definitely the best. Always enough room for my passengers to have a comfortable ride. I dont have to worry about leg room. Im very satisfied with the look, performance, price, safety and much more.
We purchased a new Acura TLX from Acura of Tempe. We took delivery of the first car and it had factory damaged paint. They exchanged it for a second TLX and it also had factory damaged paint. The dealer has been a nightmare. They took the car back to have it repaired! A brand new car. We purchased it a month ago and have still not taken possession of it. Acura Client Relations is a misnomer. We have purchased several Acuras over the years and many Hondas. I thought Acura was a quality vehicle, but I cannot say that any more. Their quality control appears to be non-existent. This has been the worse car purchase we have ever made.
We have an 03 MDX with 130,000 miles. We have already had trans replaced a little over a yr ago and last night it went out again. No warning signs, nothing. Driving 35 mph and the tachometer went to 4500rpm and we coasted to a stop. I did see the D5 light on dash, that tells us which gear car is in, was flashing. We simply can not afford to fix this again. We will never buy Acura again, and will tell all our friends to stay away from them. Even if I do find the means to fix it, it will go up for sale immediately, and I will be looking at Chevrolet for replacement vehicle.
Looking at all of the reviews that preceded the one I am writing, I think the problem is that Honda Corp. has allowed itself to become Americanized. The service culture of North America has increasingly taken over the company and it is behaving more like a GM, FORD or Chrysler. The pedantic, customer-oriented style of Japan has slowly been wrung out of Honda North America. My Acura 2008 MDX which I purchased as a certified model in late 2011 has been a basket of problems. Poor shocks (which they wont acknowledge), tire replacement after just 25,000 miles, a GPS system that needed to be replaced, battery that failed quite conveniently after its warranty expired, a power tailgate that didnt operate properly, a failure of a relay that affected the Air Conditioning are just a few of the problems. The ride on my MDX is very rough and I cant figure out why. Most have been taken cover under the warranty - but its a pain to keep going into the shop. I thought the whole idea buying a premium SUV was that as long as you did the regular maintenance, this type of thing wasnt supposed to happen. This is certainly the case with Mercedes E350 that I own and my previous Lexus RX 350 (which was a fantastic vehicle). The service culture at the dealerships is okay but it feels more like a Ford dealership than a Lexus or Mercedes dealership. The other day, their shuttle driver forgot that my son had been waiting for 45 minutes for a lift home and he ended up having to get home on his own. It was an innocent mistake but the problem was indicative of some structural problems. Again, this is okay for a middle value car but for a company that is holding itself out as a premium company, its not acceptable. Its unlikely Ill buy an Acura again. Ill go back to Lexus where frankly the product and after market service was just a league above. To put in airline terms, Acura feels like premium economy not business class. I dont know if anyone at Acura reads these reviews, but someone should start paying attention. There is a lot of competition out there. Finally, the weird thing is that whenever I send my car in for servicing, I get assailed for customer feedback. Yet when I sent an email on this, there was still no response. Hopefully, our reviews are taken seriously by someone who has some influence within Acura.
Apparently someone tried to steal my 2014 Acura MDX and thus it was immobilized by the anti-theft. They stole my sunglasses and apparently tried to use a crowbar to get in the window DENTING the window frame even though the car was unlocked! Therefore, I could not start my car as it was immobilized and was told to get the other key fob that was 30 minutes away at home. I could only get to that the later in the evening after the Acura service dept was closed. So the next day, today, beginning at 8 am, after TENS of calls with Acura Roadside Assistance and then with several non-English speaking tow truck drivers, the first tow truck could not get the car into neutral so they left. Hours pass, the second truck was not the right kind to pick it up after specific instructions were relayed that it had to be the special tow truck. Hours pass, the third truck had a flat tire so ultimately could not make it but failed to call. Hours pass and the fourth tow truck arrived 3 hours later than expected and then delivered the car to the WRONG DEALERSHIP ACROSS TOWN. I was then told that the car is nowhere to be found by that dealership and that the driver had driven away with it on his truck!!! Two hours later I was told it was found and being delivered to the right Acura service. Then I was told the car was LOST and could not be located at the new dealership! One hour later, after I called the last of five tow truck drivers and the dealership and connected the dots for them, the car was found again. Moral of the story, beware of Acura Roadside Assistance promises and next time plan to spend TWELVE HOURS OF YOUR OWN TIME TO RECEIVE ACURA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE.
Acura has SUVs, sedans and different varieties of them and they are pretty well laid out. Pound for pound it is one of the best luxury values in the market hands down, and I am overall very satisfied with my purchase. There are a lot of personalization options for the average buyer but the price points are the main issues. Since it is luxury the options are priced accordingly and if you are on a budget, can break or exceed it. The car has a gorgeous interior and is a pretty car. It is very modern with a lot of technological innovation. You have options for leather or less luxurious interiors but it is all well done and nice. The car is generally pretty roomy and comfortable. It is not a bed or your favorite chair but as far as driving from place to place it is a good seat, and certainly more comfortable than lower end brands and things like airplane seats.
I bought a 2008 MDX new and have had battery problems since the first year. It has died on us so many times that Ive bought a charger that we keep in the back to jump it since it happens so often at any place such as the airport, work, or at home. Ive taken it to Acura twice. They say it checks out fine and wouldnt replace the battery for me so I bought a new one. It did slightly better for a short time - two weeks. Then it started dying again. We always leave the dome lights off but if you dont drive it for a few days, or listen to the radio for an hour with the car not running the battery will die. Something is draining the system but the Acura service department while nice seems to be in denial of a problem that is rather common with their vehicles. The nearest dealer to us is 45 minutes away so dropping it off all the time is an inconvenience.Weve had problems with the stereo. We are on our third new head unit, and several different memory setting problems that were covered under the warranty. I was ready to get rid of it after the second year. It is my wifes first new vehicle and she wanted to keep it for at least 10 but I’m hoping to talk her into getting rid of it this next week. The MDX has a nice quiet smooth ride but everything else weve dealt with leaves me to advise you to buy a Lexus, Audi, Volvo, etc. We were going to give this MDX to my father-in-law when we got a new vehicle but I wouldnt want him to be stranded with a dead battery or deal with more issues Ive been reading about in the forums. Our MDX only has 59,000 miles.
