9 Cars You Forgot Are Still On Sale
Posted On: June 4, 2022
Recently, while driving past a Mitsubishi dealership here in California, my wife expressed surprise. "I thought Mitsubishi was gone," she said, "What cars do they sell?" Then I, someone who writes about cars for a living, needed a bit of a think to come up with the Outlander, which is just one of five vehicles the brand still sells in the US. That brought up the question: What else is on sale that people have largely forgotten about? The list is surprisingly long, and not necessarily because they're bad cars. Some don't have a large market here in the US but sell well in other countries. Some, of course, have been ruined by outdated models that ruined the nameplate to the point that a new generation struggles to compete in its class even if it's good, like the Mitsubishi Outlander. Others are simply let down by lackluster marketing, and some have simply been done dirty by brand loyalty blinding potential customers. Mitsubishi MiragernThe problem with being one of the cheapest and most economical cars in America is that nobody wants to be seen watching the pennies like that. That's a sociological issue this country needs to get over, but it's only part of the reason you can go weeks without seeing a Mirage on the road. Its 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine is meager to the point of absurdity with its 76 horsepower and 74 lb-ft of torque. We're not power snobs, but there's a point where safety has to be considered, and the Mirage even has trouble getting out of its own way, let alone keeping up with modern traffic. That's before you even consider the subpar materials and iffy handling. Let's just say there's a reason the Mirage isn't a hot topic on everyone's tongue. Buick EnclavernThe Buick Envision is seen on the road just enough to remind people that Buick is still a thing. The Enclave is a rarer bird, though, despite being a more upmarket take on the Chevrolet Traverse. The problem for the seven-seater crossover is that the Buick badge doesn't mean much anymore in the US, even if it's a solid performer. The Enclave does fall short against the competition, but Buick's value as a brand is in China, where it's gained a lot of success. China loves that Buick badge, and the brand has done a great job of marketing there. The Enclave is all-new for 2022, so Buick will be hoping it can become a popular marque again, but it's an uphill battle for a brand struggling for relevance in America. Honda Clarity PHEVrnHonda's lineup is lean and keen, at least outside of Japan. Any American with a similarly keen interest in the automotive industry should be able to name every model, but the Clarity is mostly remembered as a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. It's easy to forget there is an all-electric version, and easier to forget there's also a plug-in hybrid. Its 212 horsepower from a gasoline/electric drivetrain is enough, and 44/40/42 mpg across the city/highway/combined cycles is decent, as is its 47-mile range on electric-only power. The powertrain doesn't stand out in any particular metric. Then, when you put it next to the Civic or Accord hybrid models, you can see why it gets passed over in the dealer's lot. It's not bad in any way, it's just completely unmemorable. Volkswagen TaosrnThe Volkswagen Taos started life in 2018 in China as the Volkswagen Tharu, then came to North America as a 2022 model. It's closely related to many global models, including the Volkswagen Golf Mk7, and instantly forgettable. To be fair, though, so is the Passat - but the Passat has been around forever and used to be good. The Taos starts at $23,000, so it comes in as an entry-level model, and it's perfectly competent and more fun to drive than more expensive gas-powered Volkswagens. However, it has such stiff competition from Toyota, Honda, and Volkswagen's new nemesis, Hyundai, that it's getting passed over after making little impact. Honda RidgelinernWe beat the Honda Ridgeline drum a lot, but America is so damn slow at realizing a passenger truck doesn't have to be body-on-frame. Honda does consistently sell Ridgeline models, but it's largely forgotten outside those in the know. While truck manufacturers are trying so hard to create trucks that drive like a crossover SUV, that's literally what the Ridgeline is, and it's been worked structurally enough that it will satisfy the vast majority of mainstream buyer's payload and towing needs. It also fits the current trend of adventure vehicles, and it baffles and frustrates us that it gets forgotten. Seriously, it's a great truck and suits so many truck owners' wants and needs that it's almost comical how it gets sidelined. Nissan MaximarnNissan is in a rejuvenation period, and we have to wonder how long the Maxima will be with us. It has some good points, like a 300-hp V6 under the hood, great styling, and Nissan's fantastic Zero Gravity seats. However, the sedan's powerful engine is strangled by a not-so-well-implemented CVT, and the car lacks the dynamics of its other Japanese competitors. It's a competent car for getting around, but the suspension is too stiff for something that doesn't handle with verve, and, well, it does nothing exceptionally well. Couple that with the market's general lack of love for sedans at the moment, and it's not a winning recipe for Nissan. Infiniti QX55rnThe main reason the QX55 is being forgotten already is that those few people venturing onto an Infiniti dealer's forecourt are seeing this good-looking little coupe-style crossover, then buying the QX50 because it's cheaper and more practical. The second reason is that enthusiasts remember the awesome Infiniti FX (later called the QX70) and are attracted to a sporty rear-wheel-drive crossover but read the reviews and discover the QX55's 268 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque is muted by a poorly executed CVT. That's not helped by its handling, which is no better than the QX50, so those walking into dealerships really aren't missing anything other than the looks. It's outdated already and it hasn't been around long. Chevrolet MaliburnIf you see a new Malibu on the road, it's inevitably wearing Fleet White paint. In fact, we can't come up with any reason why the Malibu still exists beyond fleet sales. It's about as bland of a car you can drive beyond its exterior looks and surprisingly well-refined ride. We feel Chevy could exploit the Malibu more with its top-trim-only 2.0-liter turbocharged engine punching a nice 250 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, but developing an RS badged model with all-wheel-drive would likely be wasted money. The gas-only sedan market is an ever-shrinking piece of the pie, and Chevy is thriving where it counts. Jaguar XFrnThe Jaguar XF is a rarity on the road in the US, and if you spot one, it's going to be because it jumps right out at you with its good looks. We enjoy spending time with the XF as it's a good-looking and well-refined car. Unfortunately, it just can't keep up with its German rivals. It has grace and space, but the top-trim 296-horsepower four-cylinder engine can't keep pace with German rivals. As well as power options, it can't match Mercedes for luxury or BMW for space. It is a relatively sporty handler, however. What it does offer over the German brands is value for money, which is not the first thing people attracted to the Jaguar badge are looking for. As a result, the XF is slowly but surely being forgotten about by the public - and Jaguar, it seems. Pity, since Jag canned the XE for the American market and was hoping the XF could cover both bases.

I own a 1998 Buick Skylark. The vehicle had 24,000 miles on it when I purchased it. It now has 117,000 miles on it. Two years ago, while I was driving the car, it just stopped on me. I was told that a camshaft was broken and that it would be easier to have the engine replaced instead of trying to fix the camshaft. I kept the vehicle maintained on a regular basis. I replaced at least 3 water pumps, 3 intake manifold gaskets, 2 EGR Valves, as well as other repairs. I didnt find out about the Dex-Cool recall until 2009 when the car stopped running. This explains why I had to replace water pumps, intake gaskets, and EGR valves so frequently. Is there any help for people like myself who cant afford to keep sinking money into cars in which the Dex-Cool product caused other problems?I am without an automobile. I had the vehicle towed to a repair shop to have an engine installed but finding an engine with low mileage is next to impossible. The cost for a used engine with over 200,000 miles was $1,700. A rebuilt engine will cost $2,800. The blue book value of the vehicle is around $1,900 if its in excellent condition. The junk yard will probably give me about $100. The body of the car is in excellent condition. I have looked for used vehicles in the $1,500 to 3,000 price range and the mileage is considerably higher than the mileage on my vehicle or the vehicles history in general is in question or both.

It is a very durable, reputable car. Not a car or brand that you would have to pay a bunch of money! With the value you would expect a distinct appearance and non standard features from this brand. But the various upgrade and personalization options offered by this company and brand are limited because it has a small about of availability.

I picked a used 2013 Verano Turbo with 6-speed manual transmission. What delight to drive and has been worry free for 20,000 miles Ive owned. I set the cruise control at 70 mph and the little Turbo sees 37 mpg all day long. It is super quiet and handles like a dream. I like the Verano so I leased a Buick Encore for two years. When the short 20,000 mile lease was up I was sad to see squirt be returned. Again another flawless Buick I have owned and a joy to drive.

The car has enough space and enough room. The passenger side is very comfortable, easy access to get in and out. No trouble with leg room and very relaxing. It rides smoothly and offers phone space and phone cord. The appearance is pretty, in a pretty beige color, and looks as if it was brand new and in good condition. No distinctive scratches or marks on the car. The color is shiny, and the inside has a very nice, good looking interior. The upgrades are nice since my stepfather did some of his own work and contributed to the car to see if anything needs to be done or worked on, which is a good thing.

Buick corporation and GM Corporation you guys have the nerve to send my a survey asking my opinion of the service from my dealership. Well lets see. You guys have had my car almost as much as I have considering my car has been to the dealership 13 times and you all still cant seem to fix it. Hire people who know what they are doing. Buick corporation you guys are the biggest ** of all. Ive contacted you all twice concerning this car and you all have basically told me keep working with the dealership even after explaining your certified dealership cant seem to fix the issue. So I will say this. People stay away. This cars are junk. They will sell you a certified lemon. It will say certified car which is suppose to mean as good as any new car. It should really have stated certified lemon garbage rolling nightmare, POS that no one will ever fix because they dont know the issue. Do not contact Buick Corp because you will be wasting your time as they true just want you to keep bringing your car in replace parts that shouldnt need replacing and by time its all said and done you could have purchased a new car because by time you truly find the problem you will have spent more money fixing the rolling POS that they certified.

We are NOT off to a good start with Buick! My wife just purchased a brand new Buick Encore, and her A/C failed completely on the first day of ownership! Ironically, one of the reasons we went with Buick was because of the supposed excellent reliability of the brand, as indicated by what we read on the internet (J.D. Powers, etc.). The car was brought to the dealership, where they are looking at it as I type. I hope we didnt get a lemon! Time will tell...

There is nothing to complain about the 2005 Buick Century. Its a good looking 4-door sedan with seats that are comfortable. It rides smooth too. The car has always been dependable and ready to go when I am. Maintenance is minimal and has safe airbags. Bought new tires 1 year ago. It also starts readily in 30 below 0 weather. Moreover, it has a sleek appearance, black interior, electric seats and windows, and color tan. It has very roomy trunk space that is more than adequate. Can open trunk from inside as well. Lastly, heater and air conditioning work excellent.

Its a great car and I felt its safe, too. I LOVE to show it off as well and all my friends and family like to look at it and they say they want that car too. There are lot of features like the cool seats and the doors. Maybe if I can, I might add some new ones, too, like a talking phone but I might as install a car gps. Its really cool and fun neat car to have. You can fit more than five people in it and thats really cool because sometimes I have more than three people who want to ride with me.

Purchased Buick Lacrosse 2010, not thirty days in, the power begins to slow down at 23 to 24 miles. Take to dealers, they charge me 115.00 to tell me it may be my air filter and may need throttle body induction. Now in my mind, youre a Buick dealership and you have no clue of whats wrong. And Im forced to pay for that information. My check engine light comes on soon as I left, I call back. They tell me they will charge me 150.00 to put a machine under my trunk switch that advance auto uses for free to read me the codes. It is because Im a woman or dealerships are heading to hell in a hand basket. Signed dont trust ideal Buick.

Lesabre, lacrosse, enclave mine has a V8 which makes it very cheap on gas. Mines a 1995. If you can afford to get a newer one thatd be my advice, so maybe you wont have the trouble that Ive experienced. Their motors are usually good but their transmissions arent that great. Matter of fact I have to shift mine manually & it can be aggravating & also very dangerous, a good way to get hit in the rear. So if you can buy a newer one. Mines old, been left sitting out in the weather & the clear coat is very wore, the paint is faded & its maroon with a red door, due to someone other than me having a accident. Its all electric, power seats & power windows. My advise would be to get the manual windows not power because 2 of mine are stuck up, but at least their up. When it runs its good, it just tears up a whole lot & its got plastic parts that cant take the heat, so theres another problem. Its roomy with plenty of passenger capacity & plenty of leg room, not like some of the smaller cars. You can actually stretch your legs out.

I have been arguing with customer relations about the brakes being incorrect on this car for at least 6 months. The brakes are smaller than what was suppose to be on the car as advertised by Buick. I went to replace the fronts and the pads on the car are smaller than the OEM replacements and it turns out I had to buy standard Lucerne pads. Then I had the rears replaced. OEM for the car dont match. Had to hunt and search and buy 2001 La Sabre pads. The car has 98k on it and uses a quart of oil every thousand miles. Cant get a dealership to diagnose it. The transmission has erratic shift and flare ups. Dealer cant diagnose it. If it doesnt have a trouble code, it doesnt have a problem is what Im told. The door trim is delaminating. Some of the pieces replaced before for the same problem. Oh its out of warranty. The wheels clear coat is coming off and these were replaced once under warranty for the same problem but its out of warranty.

The different models in this brand of car come in different years which means that one car may have this one thing in it but a newer model may have something better than the other ones. The car brand is very nice and up to date, too. They have the feel of a luxury car with a price you can afford. The insides are very easy to keep up with and to keep the Car clean as well. This is a family car. It can hold up to five people which is perfect for the average family nowadays. It also has great trunk space for those big shopping trips that you take.

Update 11/21/2019:
Update 11/21/2019: I did reach out again to GM and again they denied any help. I firmly believe that if word gets out , they did mine, that there will be others banging on their doors with legal representationI was very professional and nice ,I stated ,and not even a percentage ,their response ,we are not changing our decision. Whats upsetting is that this is a known issue. Original review:I ordered a 2011 Buick LaCrosse CXL AWD, it is a loaded vehicle, almost every option, it has and always will be garaged, maintained by buick, it is always clean and washed, waxed, and maintained, looks like brand new. In and out, in early June of 2019, I noticed paint coming off my vehicle in flakes, I luckily have a close friend who has a auto body shop near me, he saw it and was totally surprised to see paint flaking off the vehicle on the left side rear roof area and on the right side rear defroster glass body channel area, the rear glass had to be removed for repaint, headlines dropped, and repaired as necessary, its like new, since the auto body shop my friend owns is very professional.I reached out to General Motors with pictures and a estimate, they denied any repairs due its age, and not even a percentage, buick offered and gave me $100.00 as a service voucher. The vehicle has received many compliments on how it looks and drives, this is my vehicle, my last vehicle, and I maintain it like new. The repairs actually came to $2400.00Funny thing is that it is white, and GM had a problem then on white and silver cars due to the paint flaking off due to improper application of primer, and Mary T Barra had buick executive office reach out to me, which they never did, I reached out to her, and she appeared to read a pre scripted letter on paint, little does she know, I have been around cars for a long time, from Chevrolet, Ford and I recently retired from a BMW dealership after 19.5 years and she is telling me how it is, the problem is, general motors offered nothing, not even a percentage on something that they knew and know was a problem.

Buick has SUVs and pretty large cars. The newer ones are really lovely. Mine is a 2003 and its given me no trouble. I love the color of my Century- hunter green. I also like the design. Mine isnt very fancy but its comfortable. The seats make it feel like Im driving around a comfy couch. :) I like the leather interior too. Its big enough for me and my big dog and the trunk has space for everything! Its very roomy and theres a lot of space for everyone to move around. Leg room galore! I love it and would definitely buy another one.

It also has comfortable seating and lots of room for any passenger driver. It has an awesome exterior model and shine and the interior is a great leather with a great dash and awesome steering wheel. There is also the Buick Englave, it is not really personalization type of car but it has suited my needs and wants for a car. I am completely satisfied.

My mother bought this 2008 Buick Enclave CXL with every possible option for $44,000. 75-year-old female driver only, always maintained, never abused. At 45K miles, she gave the car to me. 45-year-old male, perfect driving record, & preventative maintenance freak. At 48K miles, the transmission began slipping at various times & in various gears. Took it straight to dealer, the warranty was expired 6 months ago due to time, not mileage. The dealer charged me $212 to tell me the tranny was slipping (knew that). Said it would cost me $1,200 just to drop it & diagnose. Suggested I go with a GM rebuilt for $4,800. They said Buick would not help me with repairs or discount the parts, even with only 48K miles. I took it a couple blocks down the road for a $3,000 rebuilt tranny with a 1-year warranty. The bottom line is this was my last try with an American car. I have owned 10 vehicles: 4 Toyotas, 1 Nissan, 3 GM, and 2 Dodge. I still have 1 of the Toyotas with 94K miles & never a problem. I have never gotten to 75K on any of the American cars without major tranny or engine trouble. The opposite with the foreign brands, never any major trouble. Call it luck, I call it obvious & have finally learned my lesson. I will stay with Toyota for life.

I love that they offer a wide variety of models to choose from as well as seating options for someone with a family that can seat 6 or a single person who isnt concerned with seating. They are equipped with current technology. From satellite radio, seat warmers, back up camera. You have many options, from basic to fully loaded with all the gadgets. The vehicles are reliable for the price. Stylish but not overly flashy. The interior is sleek, very sturdy and quality made. Then vehicles are very comfortable to drive during long distance travel. The seating is spacious and doesnt feel cramped in the back seat.

I purchased a 2007 Buick Lucerne for my mother. The car has had some issues. I currently am deployed to Afghanistan. Now, the car is making noise from the transmission, a suspected plastic plate on the flex plate between the torque converter and flex plate. I have been told this may not be covered, even with a warranty. I am now on a limited budget and will be expected to pay about $2800.00 for another bad design. I am a mechanic in the Navy and find it hard to believe that a car with less than 55,000 miles should have this kind of trouble. I am asking for some help to correct this issue.

The vehicle was approaching 95,000 km and I wanted to replace the spark plugs. I usually do this myself. I determined that the motor required rotation to access the rear plugs. I disconnect the motor mounts and crank over the motor with a crowbar. I spent $350.00 dollars for 6 spark plugs qualified my next vehicle to be rear wheel drive with the motor placed in the position that Jesus Christ intended motors to be. I purchased a 2002 Buick Rendezvous with less than 35,000 miles in August of 2010. With normal driving conditions, the car broke down on us while traveling out of town. The mechanic in Virginia Beach, VA said the car needed a new engine. Thinking that we may be taken advantage of, being a tourist, we had the car towed 2 1/2 hours back to our hometown, where our mechanic also said the engine was blown to the tune of over $4,000!If GM knew these problems existed with this vehicle, they should have recalled them. We are out over $4,000 and I never purchase another GM vehicle and will be happy to tell everyone that I know not to purchase a GM vehicle. If this is their way of treating their customers, they should not be in business.

Isnt the sensor covered?” He said no, because it’s the wires corrosion and then he said rodents/rats ate the wires. I didnt know that service repair specializes in rodents. Which lie is it? I dont trust car dealer mechanics. I dont recommend LaCrosses and their phony warranties. A rat ate my wires - yeah right! I’m not satisfied! I called everybody in the corporate branches - no one helped me! I also like to mention that if you’re a tall or big person, dont buy LaCrosse as youll hit your head and knees. Looks are deceiving. I almost got in a horrible accident each time. I took the car back to the dealers so they could figure out what was going on. After having the car for almost 30 days, they call me and say they have no idea what is making it do that. Told me I need to pick up the vehicle and release the loaner and want me to drive this unsafe vehicle! They are crazy!

Plenty of room for 5 plus passengers in basically every one of their vehicles. And plenty of room in the trunk and still more than enough room in the inside of the vehicles. Initially you would be blown away. Its so luxurious and comfy inside. Great features. Seems high end. STOP! Dont let that fool you like it did me. Dont believe my review. Just google complaints with Buick Enclaves and thousands of consumers have the same complaints as me. The transmission and powertrain needed to be replaced. Was stuck on highway out of town several times with transmission, powertrain, and StabiliTrak problems. The SUV decelerated to less than 10mph many times on the road... DANGEROUS. That check engine light stayed on. I took it to many many mechanics who could not fix it. Buick wants you to pay to just replace the whole thing... thousands of dollars. If I didnt have an initial extended warranty I wouldve been out $3k when it 1st happened on natl highway. The wave plate needed to be replaced then. The valves and hoses constantly break and leak and need replacing. I have spent thousands out of pocket as a teacher and single momma. This car is a money pit! Beautiful, spacious. Comfy, but you will never be able to relax! Passenger airbag light is on and rear backup alert is on. The airbag alone in a passenger seat 800. For what you pay for the luxury car, you might as well drive a cheap car that gives you no problems. GMC wont recall these terrible engine and transmission problems either though they know about it and many consumers complain about it. Rip off. They should spank themselves! They deserve 1 star.

One of my first cars was a Buick so buying another I was confident with the brand. The style and comfort was above expectation. The engine and handling was on point. My only complaint was the blindspot. But the outside style was sleek, sporty and looked of luxury and classic lines with just enough of toughness. The wheels looked and were an upgrade to your standard style too. The heated leather interior was on point but is hot in the summer and my pupper slide around on the seats. Wow the legroom in the back seat was amazing. Im short so of course it worked for me but my 63 husband fit comfortably as well. Plenty of leg & head room.

I purchase my 2017 Buick Verano April 29, 2017 from Hanlee Hilltop Buick in Richmond, CA. The vehicle had under 40 miles on it when I purchase, so I felt that it was a brand new vehicle and with the deal it was great. My problems with the vehicle started in August 2017. I went out to start my vehicle one morning and it would not turn over. All my lights and radio came on when I turned the key. I called roadside service to give me a jump start and the vehicle turned over. I took the vehicle back to the dealership to get looked at and the mechanic stated that nothing wrong with the vehicle. The vehicle started up and I drove off. After that incident my vehicle start acting up again on November 23, 2017.This time the vehicle wouldnt arm and I had to lock it from the inside. November 24, 2017 the vehicle wouldnt start again. So my vehicle was towed to Lehmers Concord Buick since theyre closer to me. Concord stated that they checked my vehicle thoroughly and they couldnt find anything wrong with the vehicle. December 13, 2017 my vehicle would not start, Buick roadside came out and jumpstart my vehicle. So as of right now Im fed up, Im having more problems with this brand new vehicle. The mechanic specialist at the dealership cannot find the issue. Buick roadside service had to come out multiple times to jumpstart my vehicle or tow. Also my neighbors or family members would jump my vehicle. The service department ask me all the time, are you leaving anything on in the vehicle? No, Im not. If I was, its a new vehicle why is it shutting down. I had problem in Feb. 2018, end up getting an jump from a neighbor. My vehicle is still under warranty and Im afraid that they going find whatever is wrong with the vehicle after my warranty has expire. The wouldnt start on June 10, 2018 at a family event after the vehicle sat for five hours. I had to get a jump from a family member. Again, on June 16, 2018 went out to the vehicle after shopping with my daughter for a couple hours and the vehicle wouldnt start. I took the vehicle to Buick on June 18, 2018. They again look at my vehicle thoroughly and reset some things. Vehicle was running good for almost a month.July 13, 2018 about 1140 pm I was leaving an event went to start my vehicle and it wouldnt start. I sat on OnStar for three in half hours to try to get someone to tow the vehicle to Buick in Richmond or Concord. I end in Richmond around 430 am on Saturday and had to catch Uber from Richmond to Antioch. My vehicle was left on the streets cause Buick didnt have no open drop off location with a situation like this nor a drop box for keys. I went back to the dealership Saturday morning about 9 am. I was told that its nothing they can do to my car until Thursday or Friday of the following week. My vehicle would have to stay on the street until Monday morning. As of today Im trying to use the Buick roadside assist to tow my vehicle from the Buick in Richmond to Concord. Thats hassle, I spoke with a young man at Buick roadside and he stated that someone will give me a call within four hours due to my situation. No callback! I called this morning and received a little help, still waiting for the call back about my tow from Richmond to Concord. Im going have to take further action, cause I know Buick most likely not going to let me out of the contract. THIS VEHICLE IS A LEMON!!!

You had choices of that as well. Leather or cloth. And had I wanted, I could have had the console different. I also added Bluetooth so I could talk hands free. My Regal was very spacious. I purchased a brand new 2021 Buick Encore GX AWD just back in February 27th, 2021 with 12 miles on it at signing. As of May 14th, 2021 it has been at the Belleville, IL Cardinal Buick dealership shop due to a check engine light that occurred that day. After 5 days theyve yet to call me to tell me whats going on nor how long it will take to fix or replace. I only drove 960 miles and filled the tank twice since I got it. The car upon starting made a rumbly sound shaking the left side of the car violently and the check engine light went on immediately after. Not to mention the car was sounding like a 20 year old car a few weeks prior to that but no light ever went on for that reason. I never even had that car running above 3,000rpm so its not like I was abusing it.I figure it was just because its a 3 cylinder. It sounds like a rattling can after starting it. Way too loud for a new car. I noticed there was a bolt missing on the turbo block which when I checked to see if anything liquid was leaking under the hood from the rumble. The shocks and struts are terrible, too. You go over a slight asphalt repair in the road at 10 miles per hour and youre glad you got a seat belt on. Imagine what its like on the highway. They also sold me one with a flawed paint job with poorly done spot touch ups. Theres a huge scratch that looks like some moron scratched it with a key or snow scrapper by the driver-side rear window and a huge notch by the hood like a mechanic dropped a tool on it. Why a mechanic would be under the hood of an unpurchased car with 12 miles on it is something to wonder. Makes me think some previous test driver messed it up and they tried to fix it.I didnt see any of this when I test drove it due to the dealership holding us hostage there for 8 hours with our credit credentials. By the time we actually got to test drive, it was already getting dark. This is a common theme for this dealership I later found out. I asked if they could give me a replacement when I took it in to have it looked at and they said they cant because its already financed. Translation: We know we sold you trash, that we tried to mask a previously damaged car as new that we failed to report to carfax or authorities, and were not taking it back because that admits guilt and we can be legally liable and subject to possible civil or criminal charges punishable by fines or imprisonment. They didnt even give me a loaner car while its being in their shop.Im stuck paying $25,000 on this overpriced garbage thanks to the useless Lemon Law of Illinois because it has to break a certain number of times in a 12 month period. New cars shouldnt be failing at all...period. If it breaks early on that means somebody at the factory didnt do something right and theres obviously more problems lying in wait soon due to lack of quality control. I dont want it back. I only made two payments on it and it failed. I dont trust any of their products or dealerships now. Maybe I can sell it to an art museum if Im stuck with it. Experience Buick...The Trash of the Future...Today now showing at the St. Louis Art Museum.

GM need to take the car back. Case open Since February. All I can say is this is ridiculous. Don’t buy GM.

I just purchased a 1995 Lesabre for basically nothing so I cant complain much, but the problems Im facing is about 5 minutes after I first crank the car, it suddenly dies. It cranks right back up but the Security light comes on and about ten minutes after that, the engine light comes up. It seems to run better after the engine light comes on, which I figured is the computer trying to correct something that is wrong. Other than that the steering is super noisy, which is expected out of a 20 year old car. I love the way the car rides, its super smooth and runs great other than the problems Ive listed. The car is a 3800 with around 220k miles on it.

I purchased a 2010 Buick Lacrosse in July of 2010 and since I have bought it I have spent over $5000.00 in repairs in addition to warranty repairs that were covered. My check engine light came on and I was given a list of codes that were causing the problem. I fixed all recommended issues, only to have the light come on again a day later. I was given the run around about how that one light controls hundreds of components and that the dealership would fix it. The next day I was given the bogus excuse that because the area where my tank was located had been dented that I needed to replace the fuel tank reservoir because that was causing the problem. I took my car to a non GM dealer and was told it was something going on with my engine. I took my car back only to be told that it was my timing chain after I raised all kinds of hell about the erroneous diagnostics. After that repair, maybe a month later my car starts overheating and I was told that it was my water pump and that was going to be an additional $1200! I am so sick of this car that it is pathetic! I thought about trading the car in towards the purchase of another but with all the invested money on repairs, I feel like Im losing! I would never buy another Buick. I own a Lexus and BMW and have never had these kinds of problems. I love the body style and luxury of the car but the mechanical issues are too much for me. It seems that the quality of these parts are sub-par and below industry standards, just listen out for all the recalls that GM lists every month seems like! Imagine the other numerous issues that get swept under the rug only to be footed by the consumers. GM will lose a lot of its potential customer base with these mechanical concerns because anyone that asks about the performance of my car gets an earful thats surely able to deter them from buying one!

There is a wide variety of cars manufactured by Buick to suit everybodys needs. Some for safety, some for technology and some for sporty. I owned a Buick Lasabre as my first car and that thing lasted me over 10 years plus what it lasted the person I got it from. Buicks are durable, long lasting cars. Also, the appearance is just beautiful. Its sleek and smooth yet tough. Its sexy like a woman yet strong like a man. They have upgraded their safety features and their technology features. You can pretty much make your own car now, haha. The capacity is whatever you want it to be. All you have to do is tell them what you want in a car and consider it done.

I have yet to see a vehicle made by Buick that was not modeled to please the eye. While Im not fond of the Riviera many people seem to love them. Buick makes very roomy vehicles. In the Century that I had 6 people could ride comfortably while 5 could ride luxuriously. The cars are very roomy and the dubs are even roomier. Buick offers many upgrade and customization packages. I had many upgrades on my second Buick and the upgrades didnt impact the price that much.

Customer service offered little to no help, referred me back to the dealer, and they had very few ideas to improve the ride and never offered me any compensation. So far I have spent about $1700.00 to fix the problem. I dont know if the customer service people know anything about fixing a problem like this? I purchased a used 2006 Buick Lacrosse in August 2014. It had just under 32,000 miles on it. With so few miles on it I thought it would be like driving a new car. I took it for a very short test drive and bought it. What a mistake. All the lights on the dash go dim, off and on all the time. Also, this week in the space around the odometer I get the message ice. Also, with the heater and air conditioner, it pauses if you change the settings at all. Ive never had this happen with any car Ive ever owned. The comfort level of this Buick is terrible. When you go over a manhole cover, brick road, railroad track, or uneven pavement, you feel every little bump. I also dont like the fact that the windows are so much smaller than all my previous Buicks. If I were to ever need to crawl out of one it would be impossible as they sit much higher up than in the other Buicks Ive owned. When I am merging onto the highway I really have to punch the gas to get up to speed. With my Park Avenue and LeSabre I could just push a little harder on the gas and be at speed very quickly. The gas mileage on this car is also terrible. Im lucky to get 20 to 21 mpg in town and 26 to 27 on the highway. With the Park Avenue I got 26 to 28 in town and 38 on the highway. If you have any walking problems and lean against this car, you can hear the molding move. This car is like being in a tin can. This will be the last Buick I ever buy.

I recently purchased a 2012 Buick LaCrosse AWD. I traded in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala LTZ. After driving the Buick for several months now, I wish I had the Impala back. The Buick is a beautiful car with a huge defect. GM has designed and programmed the 6-speed automatic transmission to shift at over 5,000 RPM. At the high RPM, the engine noise is very noticeable. Perhaps the worst effect is that the high RPM sucks gas and the car gets nowhere near the advertised mileage. The Buicks engine has as much, if not more power, than the Impala so the high shift points are completely unnecessary. They will result in higher engine and transmission wear, and they are killing the gas mileage. I am seeing growing complaints from other Buick LaCrosse owners, but when I contacted Buicks Customer Service about the problem, they blew me off saying the car is performing normal. They wouldnt admit the other complaints, and refuse to discuss any remedy. When entering the highway and accelerating to highway speed, the transmission only uses three of the six speeds before reaching the speed limit. I choked when I heard the new Chevrolet Cruze TV commercial say, With the 6-speed transmission, it allows for lower shift points. If this is the way GM is going to treat loyal customers, then its time for me to check out Toyota and Honda. I dont know how Buick avoided the Gas Guzzler Tax with this vehicle. Someone must have lied to EPA.

My 2011 Buick LaCrosse was the first (and last) Buick I have owned. The car is really attractive (on the surface) but has been a nightmare of mechanical and technical issues since the first day. On the day I picked it up it was raining really heavily and the windshield kept fogging up so badly that I couldnt see where I was going. Come to find out there was a recall on this, but the dealer didnt fix it before delivering the car. Within a week the drivers seat started to make this loud squeaking sound whenever I drove around a corner. After a half dozen attempts the seat has still never been fixed. Then the engine light started coming one every few weeks. This was supposed to be because of some software issue, but everything they fixed it never lasted and a few weeks later the light was back on. After 4 trips to the dealer it was finally resolved... I think. The transmission slips whenever I take off going up a hill, the front end has never been aligned correctly and the car drifts to the left, the paint is peeling off the rear bumper sensors, the transmissions makes a whining sound every time it shifts from 3rd to 4th gear and the list goes on and on. The dealer has been completely worthless in trying to fix any of these issues. Buick sent their regional manager down to my dealer to tell me the drivers seat squeaks because Im too fat. I weigh 195lbs which is not skinny, but Ive seen the other people who drive Buicks and they are not skinny either. Buicks customer service line has been completely worthless as well. Their solution was to offer me free oil changes for the life of my car... Wow! How about standing behind the car and fixing the problems? Ive been a lifelong GM customer (mostly Chevrolet) but have to say after this experience I dont think Ill make that mistake again.

I have a 2006 Buick Lucerne, purchased new and maintained regularly at GM dealership as per the maintenance manual. Last week of December 2012, a grinding noise was heard. My wife took it in to Highland Dealership in Aurora, ON and she was told after a thorough check up that there was nothing to worry about and she could drive it safely. Four days later, I took the car back to the dealership complaining about the same noise. Later on that day, they called me to let me know that the transmission broke down while they were test driving it.Again, the car was maintained regularly as per the maintenance manual at the GM dealership and they had flushed the transmission at 65K. The transmission broke down at 124K. I have never pulled or towed anything with the car. I was surprised, called in to GM Canada customer service to complain and was told by a manager that regular car maintenance at the dealership means nothing and will not elongate the life of the car. What had happened was an expected mechanical failure and is due to bad luck! Sorry, you are on your own and the dealership that repaired my car gave me an excellent deal and I should be happy. I just could not believe my ears and after all the expensive maintenance as recommended by GM at a GM dealership, it does not elongate the life of a car and GM Buick transmission is made to last only 120K?!

For the passenger’s capacity, there are six seatbelts but you better hope everyone is very, very thin otherwise the driver will not have any elbow space to turn the steering wheel without breaking the ribs of whoever is unlucky enough to be riding in the front center seat. I would definitely recommend Buick to my children and grandchildren.

I have owned and driven Buicks most of my life (77 years old), I have had more problems with my present car, 2008 Buick Lucerne, than all of my other Buicks combined. I had problems with lane departure system twice, door lock twice, recall and disconnection of heated washer system, door handle came loose and almost lost it, rear window wont operate, lane departure system started working once in a while and then stopped working at all. I have always believed in buying American, but I dont think I can buy another Buick. I bought this car at Everett Buick GMC in Bryant, AR. The VIN # is **.

I had this vehicle 3 weeks only 27 miles on it when purchased. At time of problem there was 1000 miles on car. Pulling onto Highway at highway speed vehicle began to shudder and lose power. Pull off Highway shut down engine waited 10 minutes. Try to start engine it would not start. At time of problem check engine get mechanical service and traction stabilizing lights were on. I am writing this review because I have read so far 6 similar complaints. Car is now at dealer and I am waiting to hear what they say.

I purchased my 2011 Buick Regal CXL Turbo October 2013. There has been multiple issues with this car, ALL electrical. The signals and headlights continues to blow and I had to change my battery twice in 2 years. I really like the idea of purchasing an American made car but this car is going to bankrupt me. I am now dealing with a blown fuse. GM had really failed with this vehicle. I ran into a lady with this make/model vehicle and she is experiencing the same issues. GM really needs to be held responsible for this. I have all of my receipts for service and with this vehicle, something has to be done!
