2023 Kia EV6 GT: High-Velocity Electric Performance
Posted On: December 19, 2022
Experienced by Kimatni D. Rawlins, www.AutomotiveRhythms.com There is an exhilarating cohort of electric performance vehicles occupying today’s roads, whether the Audi e-Tron GT and Porsche Taycan GTS or Lucid Air and Mercedes-AMG EQS. Although each offers conscious EV owners unique and outstanding technological experiences behind the wheel, this group also falls in the upper echelon of ownership costs. Well, Kia — with 30 years of experience in the United States — has just given us a potent alternative for far less than $100,000 that sets asphalt ablaze with the fierceness and force of quiet storms. Welcome to the evolutionary world of the all-electric, high-velocity 2023 Kia EV6 GT. EV6 GT Overview and Positioning The authenticity of the limited production 2023 Kia EV6 GT’s superlative DNA stems from the birthright of the original EV6 all-electric, 5-passenger sport crossover which lit up the “zero emissions” market with silent gallops. This is Kia’s first vehicle to feature the Korean automaker’s E-GMP architecture, specifically engineered for its platoon of e-powered rides. To evaluate the next-of-kin in the 576-horsepower EV6 GT, Kia invited select media to Nevada for test runs through the Valley of Fire State Park en route to Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Along with a distinctive front fascia and rear diffuser, 21″ Ninja-bladed alloy rims wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 rubber, and neon-accented brakes (15” front rotors), Kia enhanced the titillating EV with 20 standard advanced assistance systems dubbed Kia Drive Wise Driver Assist Technology. Also, ultra-high-strength steel is employed aggressively for structural rigidity in a lighter package. “The EV6 GT ushers in the next chapter of the Plan S electrification story for Kia, elevating the EV6’s thrilling performance and near effortless drivability beyond expectations,” said Steven Center, COO and Executive Vice President, Kia America. “With a base MSRP just over $61,000, Kia is not only introducing an EV performance car, it’s showcasing our most powerful production car in company history.” Battery Platform and Performance Attributes The speedway was the perfect setting for experiencing the explosive nature of the EV6 GT. There is nothing like the sizzling feeling of electric torque, especially when you have enough runaway to showcase acceleration of 0-to-60 mph in 3.4 seconds. Top speed is set at 161 mph. The crossover emphatically pins you to the seats when the accelerator is deployed. The sensation is simultaneously exciting, joyful, and thrilling. To emphasize the GT’s performance assets, the electrified dual motor e-AWD setup consists of a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, a 160kW front motor, and a 270kW rear motor for a total system output of 576-horsepower and 545 lb.-ft. of torque. However, the brakes weren’t that impressive as I experienced brake fade before high-speed de-acceleration into corners. Currently, the all-electric EV6 GT is the most powerful Kia production vehicle the company has ever built. New tech handling features include faster ratio steering, an electronically controlled suspension, an Electronic Limited-Slip Differential, and “Drift Mode” that shifts torque bias towards the rear for greater drifting capabilities. According to Kia, independent testing performed by AMCI witnessed the EV6 GT out-run a 2021 Ferrari Roma and a 2020 Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder RWD. Impressive! However, with all this, the 2023 Kia EV6 GT only achieves 206 miles of EPA-rated range, which is a far cry from the 300 to 400 miles in the high-end vehicles I mentioned earlier. Yet, the base EV6 reaches 310 miles due to less componentry. Though, higher capacitive batteries cost more, so a sacrifice had to be made. Sporty Cockpit and Interior Amenities Open any of the crossover’s four doors to enter an interior punctuated by race-inspired, vegan suede, and deeply bolstered bucket seats that kept me in place during aggressive maneuvers. The EV6 GT is further blessed with ambient lighting, neon green accents, a customizable Drive Mode button on the left of the steering wheel, GT Mode, and the previously mentioned Drift Mode. The neon GT tab sits on the right bottom portion of the flat-bottom steering wheel. It compiles the performance settings from the dual motors, braking, steering, suspension, e-LSD, and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) to offer the most dynamic version of the EV6 GT. Of course I tapped into this mode at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for competitive thrills. The left paddle shifter on the steering wheel features braking regeneration and acts like “one peddle driving” for accelerating and slowing down. The bright neon theme resonates from Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy which commingles aspirations of Mother Nature’s endless contrasts. Technology aspects of the interior begin with the nucleus, a set of 12.3” dual panoramic displays with Navigation and Kia Connect. They sit atop and spread across the dash. An augmented reality Head-up Display is at your disposal, as is the fantastic Meridian premium audio system. The gear shifter is a rotary dial which is not my preference but presumably works for this vehicle. Lastly, Kia installed an Innovative Onboard Power Generator for external devices, gadgets, or tools such as a portable electric grille for tailgating. EV Charging Infrastructure There are three levels of charging to consider to keep your EV6 GT ready for action. Level 1 is the slowest at 3 to 5 miles of energy recuperation per hour and utilizes your home’s 110v outlets. Level 2 is the most convenient since charging will mostly take place in your house at 15 to 30 miles an hour from a 240v in-home unit like the $749 ChargePoint Home Flex. Of course, public 240v charging stations are omnipresent from hotels to dealerships. Remember that you can forego a home installation if there is a 220v outlet (typically for dryers and wash machines) in your garage. Level 3, aka DC Fast Chargers, are mostly installed at public retail locations when you need a quick buzz and are available from 25 kWh to 350 kW for passenger EVs. For example, a 350 kW Electrify America DC fast-charger will juice an EV6 GT and its 800V multi-charging architecture from 10% to 80% in approximately 18 minutes. More importantly, first-time owners of this Kia EV will receive 1,000 (kWh) of complimentary charging, the equivalent of about 3,500 to 4,000 miles of electric driving. The Electrify America mobile app will be your tool of choice to locate stations, check the status of chargers, or facilitate charging and payments. “The Kia EV6 GT is made for performance, and our ongoing collaboration with Electrify America will help ensure these vehicles can do just that,” said Center. “As Kia continues its shift to electrification, the EV6 GT takes that next step by providing a superior electric driving experience.” Pricing and Conclusion The $48,500 base Kia EV6 Wind RWD (310-mile range) has already received peerless support from the green community for its organic substance, defining characteristics, and affordability. The RWD GT-Line model starts at $52,700. Lastly, the $61,400 EV6 GT (excludes the $1,295 destination fee) with AWD elevates that stature to a higher degree of sporty styling, hyper-acceleration, and dynamic maneuverability. Are you ready for “movement that inspires” from Kia’s electric performance perspective? We certainly are!

I hope this follow up gets posted also. The car went back again to the dealer Grieco Kia for the Air Conditioner once again. The fuse keeps blowing after replacing the compressor on it. They have had the car since August 22, 2013, and it is now September 1, 2013. They have changed 3 parts on the Air Conditioning system and still, the fuses are blowing and they have driven the car approximately 500 miles of testing our car. They claim that they need to drive the car 100 miles each time they put a new part in. I never heard of such bull. They are doing this so we dont get the car back and bring it back again, because if it goes back 3 or 4 times for the same problem, we can return the car under the Florida Lemon Law. This is why they have not returned our new car to us as of yet. The funny part is that we are making the monthly payments on the car and they Grieco Kia is driving our car all over. The longer this goes on with our new car, the more I am telling people not to buy a Kia or any other brand cars that Grieco Kia sells.

Just wanted to vent in regards to the poor quality of my Rio. I bought it used from my local KIA dealership in February, 2012, and financed on a three year contract. On June 18, 2013, I was driving it in town and it just died on me with no warning. A policeman happened to be going by, and he helped me guide it to the side of the road and stayed with me to direct traffic until a tow truck could arrive. This was a dangerous situation and I am grateful that the policeman was there. I had my car towed to a mechanic my family has used locally for 30 years. The tow truck driver and policeman guessed that it was either a started problem or an alternator; I was shocked when the mechanic called me to report that my engine was gone and I would need to purchase a new one. Specifically, on the mechanics report, it stated that the car has suffered a catastrophic engine failure...cylinder has dropped a valve and there is damage to another cylinder. There was no possible way I could afford to buy a new engine, but a used one was located, which would have cost me $2700 for parts and installation. Being I still owed payments on the car until February, 2015, I knew I could not pay for the car plus the engine replacement. The mechanic volunteered that he hated to see me invest the money into replacing the engine because the car was just not worth it. He recommended I sell it for scrap, perhaps getting $400-$500. Unfortunately, being I was still owing payments on the car, the option of selling it was not an option. At this time, my KIA Rio had 97,000 miles on it. My next step was to contact my local KIA dealership and explain what had happened. I thought it was incredible that the engine had completely failed ~ I had kept up on oil changes and normal maintenance, even paying KIAs service department to replace a disintegrated gear shift four months after purchasing the car! Not once had I been notified that the engine had issues. The dealership did not address the engine dying problem, but rather tried to talk me into trading in the dead car and buying a new(er) one. This would have meant I would have had to add the remaining balance due on my dead car into the amount of my payments on a new(er) car, something I could not possibly afford. KIA did offer to replace my engine with a used one for $2200, $500 less than my mechanic quoted, but by this time I had spoken with friends in the car repair business who agreed that my Rio was not worth fixing. By searching online, I was shocked to read about the same problem other Rio owners had posted. Is this a KIA manufacturing problem? My family have owned many cars, various makes and models, running into high mileage, and have never had an engine completely fail like this. I cannot help but think this is a poorly made car and I do not understand why a recall was never initiated once it became obvious that many customers were losing engines. It makes me sick when I realize I am still responsible for payments on a car sitting dead in my garage. I honestly feel the engine failed through no fault of mine and I am furious that KIA is allowed to continue ignoring such a major concern of Rio owners.

My 2012 SX was a problem from the start. I brought it in a couple of months after I owned it for detonation noise/turbo rattle (sounds like marbles in a can) in the engine. Kia told me it was normal, and ignored it. Then, about 2 months later, the engine blew the spark plugs apart, and I lost almost all power. I limped it back to the dealership on what seemed like it was driving on 2 cylinders. Kia only replaced the spark plugs, even though they looked like they were melted - obvious detonation damage. Kia refused to do any other diagnostics, because, It runs fine now with new spark plugs. Not long after that, after hooking my small camper up (1,155 lbs), the engine completely failed while on the freeway. It blew a hole in one of the cylinders, and melted all of the spark plugs. Kia then claimed my camper was too heavy and refused the warranty, even though the vehicle is rated to tow 2,000 lbs. I hired an attorney, and it has been almost a year, and the state of Michigan had to step in to get them to come to the table! Its now the end of April, 2013, and my car has been dead since July of 2012. Do not buy a Kia!

Kia was sued over their faulty harmonic balancer bolt yet will not stand behind the Sorento defect. Not a dependable company! I have been basically told too bad that the bolt broke on a car with 100,00 miles and still like new, they want me to pay to put a new motor in it, and pay for the towing of 475$. They told me they would fix it and pay towing. Now they backed out...again not a dependable company. Buy CHEVY OR DODGE!!!

We experienced our 2nd flat tire, seemingly on the same tire, but not sure. When we took the car in, with this flat tire, we were told they were unable to patch and patch and a new tire would be needed. Trouble is, all four tires were new and we had never changed any. The only tire ever attended to prior, was another flat tire we were told was also not repairable. So with 4 new tires, how could we have a patch? Apparently we were not sold a new tire the last time, and instead, replaced by a patched tire. Now they say they dont remember so it is our word against theirs. We are not happy about this.

After going over all the terms and conditions of the sales price and trade in which was written on scrap paper, I went into the room to sign all the papers that were ready to sign in which I did, only to find out mostly everything was changed. Thankfully, my mother was present and what we were told was not what the contract said. They increased the sales price instead of giving me the ext warranty they charged me. They also added a second warranty of $2,000 and the total warranty charged was $3,795.00. Right after signing, the sales person came in and folded all the papers so I could not even look them over.

I am concerned for my safety when driving this vehicle now. Also there was damage to rear bumper licence plate frame like the car scraped the ground.

We had to change our battery 3 times in one year. I asked the Kia dealership at one of their regularly scheduled overpriced maintenance to check why the battery is not staying charged and they told me nothing. A 19-year-old at the local AutoZone listened for five seconds and told me my alternator had a bad bearing. Now, it’s time for inspection and the check engine light wont go off, so my mechanic tells me I have to take it to Kia to have them re-flash the software because it doesnt recognize the VIN. They charged $95, told me it was fixed, but the light was still on, so I go back inside and then they tell me, oh yeah, the computer is shot and its $2,000 to fix it. My mechanic is putting a rebuilt computer in for $200. I must still take it to the dealership to be re-flashed with Kia software, so thats another $95. I feel that Kia is a cheap piece of crap, I wont buy another one, and I wont pay for their outrageously expensive maintenance.

I went to the Generation KIA 1788 Route 112, Medford NY 11763 On Sunday, February 12, 2012. When I first walked in on one acknowledges or offer help. After 10 minutes I finally walked up to the front desk to ask for help. Unfortunately they seem to be more interested in their lunch then in helping me. I felt like they could care less if they helped me or not. So after another 10 minutes I left and went to another dealership. Very unprofessional dealership.

I bought my in July 2018. Have taken the car to the Kia dealerships 6 times and to no avail. They will not fix the car because they say on the computer that they hook it up to cannot find anything wrong. The weekend that I bought it I immediately called them to let them know what was happening. When you put the car on ECO after 10 miles it starts to move to the 3/4 mark on the gauge, there is a ton of white smoke out of the exhaust and smells of gas, also the sticker on the car says 24/28/36. I get 13 miles to the gallon in town and Lexington, Ky is not that big which I get at the highest is 322 miles per tank, also they come with an 18.5 gallon tank but on empty with the light on I get 13.5 gallons per fill up. They have told me, There is 5 gallons in reserve and also youre not going to see a big difference until the 10,000 mile mark, which we all know is pure crap. Do not ever buy a Kia. It would not let me give it zero stars.

The speedometer on my 2005 Kia Spectra sometimes doesnt read my speed correctly. The first time the incident occurred, it was almost 2 years ago. I only had the car for a day. While at the red light, the speedometer said I was driving 60 mph. When I started moving, it went up to 120 mph. The following day, I took the car back to the dealer, they checked it and explained to me that they couldnt find anything wrong with the speedometer. A week ago, today, I got a speeding ticket for driving 60 mph in a 40 mph zone. After getting the ticket, as soon as I started driving, I noticed the speedometer at 50 mph. I noticed immediately that the speedometer was acting up again. I stopped the car to confirm. After coming to a complete stop, the speedometer was still reading 40 mph and then the hand started slowly moving downwards. The following morning, I took the car in to my nearest Kia dealer where they checked it, said they ran a test and placed it on their computers but couldnt find anything wrong or any error codes so theres nothing they could do. Now I have to go to court, pay a speeding ticket, get points on my license all for something thats not my fault and something I cant fix nor the dealer can fix. So Im going to need Kia to fix this!

Bought a 2016 Kia Sorento 10/2017. Was traveling for work related activity in FL. Engine seized. Had to be towed to nearest KIA in SE Alabama. Car has been down since 12/18/2018. KIA states will replace motor. But they dont seem to understand that when an original motor is pulled from a vehicle and the mileage on the chassis and body differs, the title becomes what is known to the States and lenders as a Salvaged title. You lose if any but all trade in value. Also articulating the circumstance to a future buyer can be complicating in itself. I will state for the record that this is my third KIA. First was a 14 Soul, 16 Optima I bought brand new left the lot with only 17 miles on the motor, at 40, was told the engine has a recall and would fail due to improper oil delivery system, so I trade up to the 16 Sorento, and well well, here we are at 22,miles and what do we have once again. A LEMON. KIA is ripping off American Consumers and should be banned from conducting business in the USA. They need to pack up and go back to Seoul. This is part of what is wrong with our economy. And the personal debt ceilings rise and rise, due to inadequate products, as soon as one car is paid for it breaks and time to repurchase again. We need to get back to the basics and make cars like they use to. I’ve got a 96 Chevy that runs as if it was just driven off the lot. Wake UP America.

2010 kia forte - door locks open automatically when stopped. I have had this issue for about a month now. The first time I took it to my kia dealership they said they couldnt re-enact the locks opening on their own and to bring it back when it was doing this. The issue is when I stop, the car is in drive, or reverse, the automatic door locks open...You cant manually or by pushing the button, get them to relock. I feel this is a real safety issue. We took the car back on a morning when the locks had just opened on their own and went straight to the dealerships and spoke again to the service manager, who sat in the car with my husband on dealership property and drove no more than 10 feet, locks opened... They drove a few more feet and they opened again. So the service manager had witnessed the problem himself which he said they needed to have happen to verify what I was telling them. He was supposed to at that time reach out to kia corporate to see if there were any other issues of this type on file or if there were any modules about the locks. We were told on the day the service mgr. witnessed the problem they didnt have time to fix it that day and to bring it back in a couple of weeks and leave it overnight so they could check it first thing in the am. This brings us to today. They have had my car all day and the tech is saying he cant recreate the problem. I dont know why he has to when the service manager has told him the problem. They hadnt done any checks for shorts or faults. I called kia corporate and spoke to customer care there who did call the dealership to see what they had done as there was no record of the dealership logging a record with corporate as they were supposed to do two weeks ago. The service manager wasnt in today. They called him at home and he told them what he witnessed. At that point they said they were going to check for shorts. They had my car all day and are still saying they cant recreate the problem. Apparently tomorrow the service manager will be in and he will try to recreate the problem and were told I want this resolved by end of day tomorrow. I told them I want them to reimburse me for the gas they are using up driving around in my car to diagnose a problem their service manager had already seen. I dont see why, upon the service managers word that there is a problem with the locks, that they dont just replace the door locks. So they have my car for another day, for which I am inconvenience. If they dont fix the problem tomorrow, I will be contacting the COO of Kia Canada and registering my extreme displeasure with this experience. This was my first kia and now it will be my last. The customer service is awful and it appears they just dont want to fix the problem because its still under warranty.

My 2016 Kia Sorento seized on 8/16/19... stopped in the middle of the highway. No lights, no sounds, nothing. Did some investigating and it was out of oil. Just had it changed on 6/7/19. Dealership is refusing to honor the lifetime warranty. Again, no lights, no warning, no nothing. 5.5 quarts of oil went somewhere in two months. Or at least thats what was SUPPOSED to be in there. There are several class action lawsuits pending as well regarding this issue & similar things. Dont be fooled.

I have a 2011 Kia Sorento that acts like it’s not getting fuel or not changing gears. I took it into the dealership for this and they changed something in the shifter. For a few weeks it seemed fixed. When it began to act up again I called dealership and was told that I had brought my car in for a different reason and now that my warranty was up I would be required to pay for any service that I had done. I was asked what kind of light was coming on when the car acts up. I told them that no light comes on. Then I was pretty much told that I was stupid. If my car is doing like I was saying then there had to be a light on. My car just gets worse and worse. Sometimes it’s going along fine and then the rpm jumps to 5 or 6 and the car acts like its down shifting and doesn’t want to go. Then the rpm will drop below 1. Sometimes when you take off from a stop sign or traffic light it shifts really hard and makes a clunking noise like the transmission is going to fall to the ground. I too like a lot of others, chose the Kia for the great warranty, but when the dealership is always saying there’s nothing wrong that makes the warranty useless. Just because I’m female doesnt mean I’m stupid. And I dont like being treated that way.

I was having my van serviced and fixed. I needed an oil change when my air bag light and check engine light came on. The dealership said that in order to check out the problems it would cost me $90.00 per problem. So I went to lock my doors, and the remote didnt work so I had them look at that. Now the other remote doesnt work either so they checked that out too. They said both remotes do not work . I find it a little weird that both dont work. The car is 4 years old and the one key and remote are in my safe, just in case I lock myself out and so I dont lose them. I would like to know if there is anything Kia can do for me and my family. Between me and my family, we own four Kia cars and we love them so I really hope you can help me.

I made an appointment a week before my appointment. I was very specific about the recall over the phone when I made my appointment. I have came in. I was very specific when I talk to the front desk why I was there over my recall, I even told them if I need to pull out the paperwork, they corresponding with me acknowledging why I was there. They have told me it will take 2 1/2 hour. After sitting in the lobby for 30 minutes I went to the front and I noticed my car has not been pulled in the back so I asked them if they can take me home like some other dealerships do. After talking to them more about this recall they told me that the parts not there and they were trying to do something else with my vehicle that wasn’t approved. Now in February 5 they wanted to put a liner in my gas tank. I told them I did not wanted that done and that’s what they were trying to do and charge me $160 for it without my acknowledgment. Poor customer service. They don’t listen to the customers and after all this the man looked at me like I was the one confused. I would definitely not recommend this business. They honestly don’t care about their customers.

We have a 2014 Kia Soul, now has 104,182 miles on it. Took the vehicle for an oil change on 3/21/18 and advised the shop that the vehicle had been going out in the midst of driving. They kept it for a couple of days and $100.19 later, we were told we needed a new engine, but they had new cars on sale! (That! is sarcasm.) They didnt tell us why, and quoted the new engine to be $5100+ tax. The car sat in my driveway for about a week as my husband and I debated, should we get a new car? Or get a loan to pay for a new engine? But then, if we get the new engine, what if that triggers something else to go wrong? Called Customer Affairs, created a case, took the car back to the dealership, who has ONLY been the ones to handle our vehicle, for oil changes only, as we have never had any issues.Kept the car for TWO WEEKS, never heard a word, had to call, then we got the runaround, and was told that we were denied any help from the DPSM. We escalated the case, and had to call back the next day to be told all they could do is offer $1500 off of a $6800+ engine. Mind you, we were originally quoted $5100+tax. Not only am I livid, I am out a vehicle, and have been for a month now, Ive had to put wear and tear on my other vehicle while my husband and I share it, and now have to find a way out of this KIA SOUL problem.

I purchased a 2014 Kia Soul Base from Halleen Kia in North Olmsted Ohio and recently received a recall notice from Kia concerning a Pinion Gear issue that could result in a crash because the plug that was adhered at manufacturing was done incorrectly. I promptly called halleen to set an appointment because I happened to have the day off and received a recall notice. I called to set an appointment and was told that they could not get me into service until next week. I was then told that this is only a problem as the car ages (which is very concerning since I recently switched from Toyota to Kia and I was a loyal Toyota owner for many many many years and this is a concern because I tend to keep cars for 8-9 years and over 100K miles)... I hope I have not made a bad purchase in purchasing a Kia and making the switch... In the past the Halleen Kia departments have been A-1. I hope this is an isolated issue and I hope that service will continue to be 5 Star.

I have a 2014 KIA Sorento. I purchased this vehicle with the 100,000 mile/10-year warranty extension. My Sorento started having SiriusXM Radio reception problems around July/August of 2015. It would sporadically lose the signal and a NO SIGNAL indication would appear on the radio display. These signal losses occur no matter where I drive my car. I showed King KIA of Gaithersburg some of the many pictures I took of the radio front panel when the failures occurred. King KIA tried to fix the problem several times between December of 2015 and June of 2016 without success. King KIA then requested assistance from regional technical assistance. KIA Motors sent Field Technical Service (FTS) representatives to King KIA to check out my vehicle and the SiriusXM radio issue. The FTS technicians test drove the vehicle for 15 minutes, reproduced the problem, and then stated that this is normal operation from signal being blocked. When I realized King KIA might not have the expertise to fix the problem, I called SiriusXM Customer Service for help and forwarded more radio-failure pictures to them. Sirius Customer Service stated that the problem was probably the antenna or the Sirius Radio itself. After several calls and emails with Sirius Customer Service, they elevated the issue to their Technical Department. The SiriusXM Senior Director of Repeater Operations, Mr. Russell **, called me to discuss the problems that I was having with my SiriusXM radio and to offer his assistance. He said his office is located in DC and is near the route I travel to work at the Washington Navy Yard, in D.C. He stated that none of his employees, most of whom have SiriusXM radios, have experienced this problem, and some of them drive a similar route that I drive from Germantown. The director also sent me an email stating that the SiriusXM technical team had tested the route that I drive from Germantown, Maryland to the Washington Navy Yard and found no reception problems, signal outages or interferences. I contacted KIA Consumer Affairs and forwarded more pictures and asked for the KIA final report. Ms. Britney ** of this office stated that KIA would not send the final report without a request from a Lawyer. At this point I decided that I would obtain legal help, so I retained the Law Offices of Karpel, Link & Caporaletti, of Rockville, Maryland through my legal assistance plan offered by my employer, BAE Systems. With legal help it appeared that KIA Motors was willing to consider the Lemon Law and asked What is your clients demand? My lawyer replied that I wanted them to fix the radio issue or replace the vehicle with one with a working SiriusXM radio. My lawyer asked that KIA Motors provide the KIA final report that they would not provide directly to me. Not long after that KIA Motors stated that the issue was elevated to upper management, who determined that compensation would being denied at this time. They still did not forward the KIA final report. KIA Motors last email to my lawyer stated that they feel this is normal operating based on the area that I live. This email also referenced the very first invoice from King KIA of Gaithersburg (Ro# **) of 12 December 2015. This was the first time the mechanics had looked at my vehicle concerning the SiriusXM radio issue, where they found (incorrectly) that the signal fades only on 2 stations. The final email from KIA Motors also stated my radio performance is normal based on reception from the different radio stations. KIA motors forwarded pages from an Owners Manual that explains the process of AM & FM (not satellite) radio reception. Note that my vehicle does not experience any problems with the AM & FM station, only the satellite stations. It appears that KIA Motors has ignored all of the evidence that my lawyer and I have provided. I feel that KIA Motors has not read the emails or examined the photos I had provided, or they believe the little guy will eventually go away. The following is some of the evidence that we have provided to KIA Motors. 1) The signal does not fade, it is completely lost with a NO SIGNAL or WEAK indication on the radio front panel as we have proven with the many photos. Note that I have over 200 similar pictures saved on my iPhone if needed for proof of times and locations of the signal loses. 2) The signal is not lost on only 2 stations. It is lost on every satellite station I listen to and everywhere I drive as shown in the photos. 3) SiriusXM radio is not operating normally in my vehicle since it does not happen in other vehicles. For example, it doesnt happen in my car pool members two cars, who has provided a written statement. It didnt happen in the 3 or 4 different KIA loaner vehicles I used when my vehicle was in the shop at King KIA. And, it has not been reported as an issue by any of the many employees at the SiriusXM offices in DC with SiriusXM radios in their cars.4) This SiriusXM radio signal loss is not due to the area I live or drive, and is not being blocked or interfered with. This is based on emails I have received from SiriusXM Customer Service, and from the SiriusXM Senior Director of Repeater Operations and was forwarded to KIA Motors via my lawyer. 5) The King KIA service manager, Mr. Bill **, believes there is an issue with my SiriusXM radio reception, but is unwilling to say it is due to either the equipment or the installation in my vehicle, since his service department has tried everything they know of to fix the problem. After the last KIA Motors communication with my lawyer, my lawyer has declined to support my case any longer, and suggested that I file my complaint with the Better Business Bureau and/or Montgomery County Consumer Affairs. My suspicion of this terminated legal service is that the legal service offered through my company doesnt pay the lawyers their normal fees, and they consider my case not worthy of their efforts.

This is the first brand new car I ever bought. I bought it because I was sick of always having to fix my used car. I wrongly assumed I would not have this problem with a new car. I bought it in October. The acceleration sticks on gear change, but I didnt want to spend my life in the shop (again) so I deal with it. When summer hit, I found out the AC didnt work. I scheduled a service time. The guy on the phone was a bit rude but I chalked it up to him probably having a bad day. They dye the AC and tell me to come back in a week. Its still blowing cold, but I bring it back as requested. They cannot find the issue, so they send me on my way. Two weeks later, its blowing hot air again. I have to go back. This time they tell me the hose is broken and replace it. It took them 3 days to replace a single hose. While I am grateful I received a car to drive in the meantime, it was the most disgusting pile of garbage I had ever had the displeasure of driving. Whoever had previously owned this vehicle did not in any way take care of it. After day 3 of calling and waiting for the car to be fixed, I drove over to the dealership after work and vowed to wait until they took care of it, regardless how long it took. I walked in and they asked if I was there to pick up my car. They never bothered to call me.Today I had a flat tire. No spare in the trunk, which I had foolishly thought would be standard for every vehicle. I called the dealership and was told to call roadside assistance, which was free. Okay, fair enough, but if the tire cant be fixed, I cant afford to buy a new one right now, so I dont know if thats a good idea. I was blown off (same guy as earlier, still rude so obviously not just a bad day thing) and told to just call roadside assistance and go from there. I was also told that tires were not covered under the warranty, which was the only question he bothered to answer. Of course they arent. In all, because I did not have a spare tire, it took me 6 hours and a total loss of days wages to get a flat tire fixed, and surprise! Its covered under warranty. So not only was the guy rude, but he lied to me too. I have become more acquainted with the service staff at Kia in the last 9 months than I was with my mechanic in the last two years of my used car. I bought a new car to avoid that.I am very dissatisfied with Kia and their customer service. I requested a manager when I got there, to discuss the issue of the rude representative, and he never once showed his face in the time I was waiting for my car to be fixed. Because of that, I came here to post a public review instead of keeping the issue between me and the manager.

Yep, my paperwork from the dealer service center actually says the converter melted. They were unable to explain to me why this may have happened and only stated it was corrected now. Within the first 10 minutes of driving away from the dealership in heavy interstate traffic, I realized that sound was coming from my car. I immediately called the service center back to tell them the car now had engine noise that was not there previously and was told since it was the Friday before Labor Day to bring it back on Tuesday. Jump to Tuesday and after keeping my car all day, the service center decided that I probably needed an oil change even though it wasnt due. They then tried to tell me the technician recognized an 80% improvement in engine noise after the oil change was completed when there was no change in engine noise. After making yet another appointment with the dealer service center, I am informed that when the catalytic converter melted, debris was probably sucked up into the engine (which has less than 20k miles at this point) and they might be able to fix it or it may have to be replaced. Oh - but come and get my car and dont come back until I can provide them with service records showing that I have had the two required oil changes which were not performed by them. I am scanning and sending information that was requested yesterday today in hopes of..... I dont know what. I dont want to pay five more years on a car that has already been to the dealer going on five times (two by tow).

I bought a brand new Kia Soul. I was driving on the turnpike when I hear a noise coming from the right front of the car. I thought the right braked locked up but did not feel it driving. Turns out the inside part of the wheel well came loose and with the wind touched the front right tire causing the noise and bending it where it could not be bent back. I made an appointment to take the car into Rick Case Kia service. They asked me to later come into the shop area my car was up on a lift. They accused me of hitting something to cause this to happen. I said I have 1000 miles on the car. I am the only driver. I did not hit anything. Other than the scratch make of the tire on the part that bent back there is no evidence no sign of anything hitting the area.I stated that its been raining a lot and I have as everyone else driven at highway speeds through standing water. I think maybe the force of the water may have loosened the clamps causing this. They still claim I hit something so as to not cover it. I called Kia Customer Service and its been a few days with no callback. I opened a case. If they do not cover this I no longer want the car. I have been reading all these accounts of horrible customer service. I purchased extra coverage where even oil changes are paid for. This accusation does not sit well with me. If this is how it is with Kia I wish I had known previously they have a maybe fake award for the past two years with a major company. Dont know if its legitimate now. If its not covered I do not want to drive my car. Only had it over 30 days. Hope anyone looking to buy a Kia dont. Rick Case doubles the factory warranty from 10 years to 20 but then they blame the customer for the claim to disqualify the claim. Very underhanded and wrong. I fell for their tv commercials.

Bought a used 2010 Kia Rondo Jan. 2015. We are a much older couple & do little mileage. A few months after buying car various lites kept burning. Brought to local garage. Was told take to Kia dealership, an electrical problem. Changed lite, burnt again, along with complete dashboard. Back to Kia, this time supposedly the hitch that was problem. Changed lites again, now dome lite. Then car went dead, boosted by a garage, told us was electrical, boosted 2 other times. Back to Kia, this time ripped out the quette, bypassed some wires, good to go. Lasted a week, headlite burnt, Kia changed again at no charge but the new lite was not working. On & on this goes. Of course warranty finished. Now burnt lites & message on dash saying check. Back to Kia. Now need to put Quette back, and 4-500$ to change wiring. They finally diagnosed. This has being going round & round since March. What a nitemare. Serviceman called ROCH extremely rude. Cannot provide order # as car is still @ garage. Awaiting the proprietors call. Am also awaiting the t.v. program J.E.s reply. My husband also bought & changed various lites. What a way to be treated. Be careful anyone buying at this garage. We firmly believe this was a undisclosed problem when we bought.

I have had 4 Kias now, 2012 Rio and 2014 Soul both 4 years, 2017 Sportage and 2014 Optima. No problems with any of them but we are low mileage drivers. A word of warning, there are recalls on the 2011 to 2014 4 cylinder engines for failure. Also, get your oil changed at the Kia dealer, their filters are very good and have a unique property of allowing oil to pass thru on start up. Do not use 5w20 in over 60F weather, its a government scam to get better gas mileage, use the owners manual to determine what viscosity you should use, during the winter I let them put in their 5w20, during the summer I insist on 5w30. I hope not to have the problems I have read about. Good luck.

We purchased a 2008 Kia Rio for our son to use before he graduated high school. In the 3 1/2 years since it has, it barely had 30k miles on it. Our son reported while driving it 2 weeks ago, that it jolted and he thought he had a blowout, but upon checking it, the tires were good. However, the right front wheel was free to float forward and backward in the wheel well. The Kia technician was quick to advise us that the person we had who welded the control arm did a poor job and it broke. He was immediately advised that the car was purchased new and other than oil changes, it has never been mechanically worked on. The service manager said they would submit it for warranty approval. Two days later, it was denied and we were informed that the operator hit something and broke the control arm. What happened to the expert opinion stating a bad welding job to breakage caused by damage? This isnt my first time around the block and I know when smoke is being blown up my shorts. The denial came from a supposed Kia rep. The Albuquerque Kia ran me around for a week to even get this information from them and would not follow up on information leaving me to them. One of their people even had the ignorance to even say aw boo! What was that supposed to mean? But they have my car and I understand what a mechanics lean is.

Many car companies do not charge an extra fee for either autopay or monthly one-time payments from customers once the money is directly paid from the customers bank accounts. Please get rid of WU and get a company that can provide the same service without this extra fee. Is Kia Care Department aware of WU manipulations of its financially overburden customers who are trying hard to make monthly payments? BUYER BEWARE!! This is intended to strongly express a ZERO rating of Corporate Kia, as they refuse to stand by their products and are hurting their dealerships in the process. We have recently become part of a VERY large group of Kia vehicle owners with known defective engines and Corporate Kia refuses to rectify the issue of their poor quality!! We own a Forte with ~79K miles on it that is well kept. When the engine just recently began a loud knocking sound and a timely engine recall notification came to us, we brought it to Kia. After charging us $135 for a diagnostics fee and having our vehicle for literally two weeks (stating that Corporate Kia had been hacked and their systems were in disarray), only to ultimately tell us the engine recall issue DID NOT apply and it would cost us $8,250 for them to put in a USED engine!! Yes, $8,250!! They also stated that our vehicle had been serviced by Kia all along, but that the engine was junk?!? There are many Kia models already in lawsuit settlements for this defective engine issue that surfaces later on, but it is not on the Forte yet. Do a simple Google search and you will discover this. If youre thinking of purchasing, please do your research first, as there are many other car manufacturers out there who do not have this devastating design defect that leaves the owners with big $$$ expenses and no recourse. How Corporate Kia can ignore their consumers and poor quality like this is highly unethical and is why I am posting this!

My current wife and I purchased a 2011 Kia Optima. We only purchased the car in my wifes name because we were just dating at the time. We would become engaged about 7 months later. We get married, we moved to Texas, I go to the DMV to get the tags changed over. We take great care of our cars. We reach 98K miles. We finally have a true problem with our car. The engine is gone. We need to replace the engine. Kia tells me that we dont have a valid warranty on the car because weve sold the car. I explain to them that we havent sold the car we just moved to a different state. And I registered the car under my name but the title still has my wife on it. Granted when the lady told me that we didnt have a warranty on the car, was very upset and cursed a bit over the phone. After a week of fighting over the phone with Kia and the dealership they decide to honor the warranty. The follow up with the Kia and the dealership has to be some of the worst customer service Ive ever seen in my life. No one called to let me know they received documents from when I sent them. No one called to give me status of on the car. I will NEVER buy another Kia in my life. This is the worst company to ever buy a car from. They will try to give you every excuse of why they cant honor the warranty on your car. STAY AWAY FROM KIA. Its a waste of your time and money.

I have a 2005 Kia Sorento. I paid it off April 2013. I have had nothing but problems out of this car since then. There is all kind of noise from the engine and front of the car and back of the car. I spent $400 getting it fixed about a month ago. A week later it was messed up again and I havent driven it since.

I bought this car in 2017 in September. Here we are in October of 2018 and it has a blown engine. I only have 95,000 miles on this car and bought it with 58,000. For such a new car you would think you would have years before any major issues. Car isnt even on any recalls. But here I am no car and still paying on this vehicle that is a new type of garden gnome now. I hate Kia vehicles and would never buy another ever again.

For all you women haters of the Kia television commercials that think Kia is sexist, the Mr. Sandman commercial to be exact, unless you ever had a penis, you arent going to get it. Its a man thing. Go with the flow. You dont see us men whining and complaining about all of the feminine hygiene products that bombard us during our television time. Theyre just gross and disgusting. Yeah, you bleed, yeah, you stink. Deal with it. Men are breeders. We eat, sleep and think sex. I guarantee that if your physical looks were like the bikini clad models that auditioned and were paid to be in those commercials, you will be standing in line with the rest of them.

I purchase a 2012 Kia Soul from Regal Kia and in 2016 the engine busted. There was no indications that there was a problem with the engine because the engine light never turned on. Also, a month after I had the car, the starter went dead, had to pay $400 for a new starter. I want everybody to know that the Kia Soul is not a very good car, do not buy them. When I got in touch with the Kia Headquarters, they did not want to take responsibility for their defective car. Warning: Do not buy the Kia Soul or any Kia cars. They are poorly made cars that dealership make money on. No I would not recommend a dog much more a friend.

Powertrain warranty: I have 2006 Kia Spectra 5 with over 80,000 miles. I started to experience slippage and loss of power in the transmission. The car downshifts on its own while driving. And when trying to accelerate the car after stopping the accelerator pedal to the floor, the car does not respond. I took the car to two separate repair shops after calling the warranty company to file a report. The warranty company proceeds to send out an adjuster to inspect the car and proceeds to tell me he did not experience any issue in his test drive. I proceeded to call the warranty company and I am told that they will not fix anything unless it occurs when the adjuster is driving the car. I proceeded to tell them I am starting to think that they do not want to make the repair since the warranty will be ending at 100,000 miles. Is there anything I can do?

We bought a Kia Sportage new. The engine blew on the interstate. No engine warning lights, nothing at all. Engine is blown. We have meticulously maintained this car and gave the records. 139K miles and it is now dead. Dealer diagnosed engine failure consistent with other recalled Kia/Hyundai motors but they refused to replace engine. Kia corporate (consumer affairs) was very helpful at first but as soon as the dealer confirmed a defective engine consumer affairs has gone silent. They do not return calls after at least 10 messages. BEWARE of the 2.0L and the 2.4L Theta II engines. They are defective. Kia recalled only a small number of them. A large number are failing. Google Kia engine failure and start reading. Never ever buy a used Kia. Even replacement engines are failing. Dont expect Kia/Hyundai to stand behind their products. 131 complaints on NHTSA site on this specific make, year, and model.

07 Sorento - I have had my car to Kia service shops many times complaining about engine noises. The first at 7700 miles. Of course they couldnt find anything so it went back again and again. Its now in the shop 2000 miles away from my warranty being out and it needs a new motor. Now Im being told that Kia will not cover it due to insufficient service records. I have all the records, just some of the oil change receipts, dont have mileage written on them so they wont accept those. However its ok for us to have receipts from Wal-Mart where we bought oil and filter and changed ourselves, no mileage written on it but that ones ok. Theyll accept it. I spoke with someone from Kia before submitting my claim to them and she told me as long as I had some of the records that should be fine. What a joke. I think they need to start honoring their warranties or maybe make your cars right the first time.

I have owned my Kia since May 2006 had it now for a little over five years. I too, like many other, called Kia consumer assistance line the first few weeks after purchasing the car from Kia Country in South Carolina. Like everyone else, I thought I got a deal and the sales people were really nice too, until you sign the paperwork and they put the keys in your hand. That is when all of the problems begin.I complained of the paint peeling. They told me that there was nothing that they could do, so I let it go because it wasnt very noticeable, but that was my mistake. After that, more and more problems began to occur like the blinker lights blow out every couple of months. Twice, they blow out at the end of the drive way. I brought my car right back to them and all they did was replace it, but the very last time, I refused to take my car back until they did some further investigation. They did, and the results were that they had a short, so I went. After another couple of months, they blew out again. The air bag light comes on and goes off. They were supposed to fix it again, but like everything Kia supposedly fixed, doesnt last very long but only a few months. My chamber and chassis cannot be aligned per tires, plus I brought the 3 year alignment when I purchased new tires from them last year, but have never had a proper alignment. They suggested that I take it to the dealer. I took it to the dealer in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. All of these existing problems, the dealer did not fix or dont want to produce paper for.Now that the warranty is no longer effective, they want me to pay for all of the problems that were never addressed by corporate or the dealer Stokes Hodges Kia of Augusta, GA customer service. They have had about 4 or 5 managers since the purchase of my car. I was considering buying another Kia some time ago, but with the many ongoing problems I had with my Kia, I would never buy another Kia ever in life. You have poor customer service. You guys have left a bad taste in my mouth. I want rest until justice is serviced.

I bought my car brand new in March of 2011 from Phil Smith Kia in Lighthous
I bought my car brand new in March of 2011 from Phil Smith Kia in Lighthouse Point Florida. It was one of the newer models of the Kia Soul, shadow black. A couple months after buying the car I noticed that the tire pressure light was constantly on. I ask on my next oil change and of course they said it just needed air, but boy were they wrong. I wish I knew right then to declare my car a lemon under Florida State Law. Months went by and the issue still persisted. I was still told to ignore it, that when I came there they would just reset it and it would stop. Two years later in 2013 while driving in the middle of the night, all the indicator lights starting going off in my car simultaneously and the car shut down. It would not restart! 2 years old less than 20,000 miles! I had it towed backed to Phil Smith Kia. They said a module had to be ordered for my car. They ordered it, the manager Mihai left and all of a sudden it was never ordered and of course they didnt see what the problem was. Nothing was showing up when they run test. At this point Sheldon is taking care of my car. A year passed, tire pressure light still on, when all of a sudden all of the lights simultaneously again. Imagine my fear of my car shutting off again. And when I say all the lights I mean, tire pressure light, air bag light, engine light, brake light, abs light. The electric odometer wasnt working. The rpm was going up and down. It was as if my car was possessed! I immediately took it to the dealership to find out what was wrong. They say, Oh we dont show that these lights are coming on. We need proof! Hello look at your record. Ive been here a million times. They say the only light we see is your air bag, your passenger airbag needs to be replaced, come back we have to order the part. I come back (Its 2014 now). They replaced the airbag. The airbag light is still on. My car is still acting possessed. Took it back. They still claimed they couldnt find anything. Took it back again. Oh they finally find something. We have to replace your air bag module. I come back. They order the airbag module. The lights are still going off. I come back again. They told me they ordered the wrong one. Well call you when we get the right one. They get the right one and replace it. It is 2015 now. The lights are still going off. Apparently when they replaced it they didnt finish resetting everything. So now they reset everything and tell me to come back and get it. I come back to get it and they drove all of the gas out of my car. It was on E! and on top of that the lights were still going off. I was so fed up I left in anger, not knowing what to do. Two weeks later I call again - make an appointment. I find out that Sheldon is no longer with Phil Smith Kia and now Charlie the service manager will be taking care of my car and it will absolutely be fixed this time. I drop the car off on Saturday 8/1. Was told I couldnt get a shuttle home while they worked on my car, When they told me it would take all morning, (Ive gotten a shuttle home every Saturday I was there before) I had to call for a ride and received not one phone call back when I called multiple times all day! After the 5th call, Oh sorry we didnt call you. Lets just give you a rental car and you can keep your car here. Days go by no phone calls. I have to call. Once I call, Kia corporate is involved at this point. I get several apologetic phone calls saying that they will make sure everything is ok, that my car is finally fixed and they will test drive it with me. Wednesday 8/5 I leave work early to pick up my car - call the dealership to let them know Im on my way. I got to the service center at 5:40 pm due to traffic. The service center closes at 6pm. No one was there! I walk into the dealership to speak with the receptionist. She informs me that Charlie left for the day because it was SLOW!!! WTF. I left work early to come here, have been late to work have taken days of time off to come to this dealership and no one is here! I am floored. Cassandra the receptionist informs me that she has no authority to release my car. I leave, because Im obviously upset, in tears at this point. I call Kia corporate. They say that there is nothing they can do for me but report this incident and that I need to talk to a general manager. I called for the general manager and was informed that he wasnt there and that I would have to call back in the morning. Then I tried to see if anyone could release the keys to my car. No one has the authority to do this. OK THOUGH IM PISSED I WILL WAIT to get my car that will not be given to me. MY CAR! I call in the morning and speak to West ** and explain to him my entire situation over the years. All he says is that he will check on it and call me back within the hour. Surprise! No phone call. I call again and was told he wasnt even in the building anymore. I called again to speak to Charlie with no avail. At this point Im being ignored and disrespected. I finally get a call back hours later with a sorry apology from the service manager and have still not heard from West **, the general manager who said he would call me back. I had to come up with the solution. I had to beg them to drive the car to me so that I could return my rental car and not be stuck. My car has all new tires, new brakes, a new battery, a new airbag - all done recently. Long story short. I will never buy another Kia in my life and I would advise no one else to either. The way that Ive been treating is appalling. I would like to give a round of applause to Phil Smith Kia for their crappy service. Good luck to the person that buys this car because Im getting rid of it. Thank you for reading. And thank you Kia for doing absolutely nothing but giving me headaches, excuses and more gray hairs!

My car has 52k miles and for some reason, the engine light came on one morning. I was driving to work and I was only a few blocks away from home so I return and asked my roommate if I can use his car to go to work while I take my KIA to the KIA service department. When I picked up my car, they told me the cars computer just needed an upgrade. I thought it was weird but I was happy it wasnt something worse. I automatically noticed a huge, I mean huge, drop in mpg. I bought the car because it was supposed to be good on mileage, otherwise I would have bought a Prius which was my other choice. I took it back the next day and they checked it and they said that they found nothing wrong. I was really upset. They gave me a pamphlet that I should read to show me how to get better gas mileage; I was really pissed. I know how to get the best gas mileage out of my car and I do regular oil changes using synthetic - nothing but the best and regular air filter changes everything. I went from getting between 33-37 mpg to 25-28. I am a very upset KIA own. I dont know what else to do.

I purchased a brand new 2019 KIA Sportage two days ago. Its the first time I drove it today. It popped up a warning message (with yellow light) after one mile of driving, saying Low Tire Pressure. I called the road service to check it up. Based on the User Manual, the tire pressure should be around 35 in cold weather. But for my car, three tires were around 30 and one was 27. I am just wondering: Do they really check up everything and make sure it meets all the criteria before they deliver it to the customers??? Well, this is just the first day. The service guy inflated the tires. I will keep an eye on it in the following days to see whether its the problem that they didnt inflate it enough before delivering or the tires are really bad and they deflate gradually. Anyway, my first day of driving a brand new car, was ruined.

Disappointed customer. I thought I was making a smart choice when I bought my used 2011 Kia Sorrento (Liberty Ford) boy was I wrong. The reason for the purchase I needed a reliable car as I drive 500 miles a week from home to work and with Kia having a 10 year 100k mile warranty and the car only having 70k miles on was to me at the time a no brainer. I had the car a little over a year and the engine went. I did purchase the extended warranty from Liberty but because it was a Kia they could not work on it and sent it to Bedford Kia for inspection. After numerous phone calls and even an in-person visit, they had my car for 52 days before it was fixed and returned to me. They put in a new/used engine that had at the time 65k miles on it so I thought once again I was in good shape, well I was wrong again. This engine lasted 11 months and 22k miles and because I was over the miles, I was told in not so many words - sucks to be you right now, you will have to foot this bill. I also want to note this engine quit on me as I was slowing down for an accident that was on the freeway. I was going about 60mph at the time, tapped the brakes to slow down and the engine quit. I had to limp the car from the high speed lane to the berm with no power, it was a very dangerous situation at the time. I am just trying to understand as a customer that had 2 bad engines where the accountability as a manufacturer is? I do understand warranties but all I was looking for was someone to say we understand and give me some kind of help. I wasn’t looking for Kia to pay the entire bill but 2 engine failures engines that only made it to around 80k that were not my fault some help would have been nice. All toll right now I have around $6.200 invested back in a car I only paid $7,400 for. As a single father of 6 working 2 jobs this was a bill I did not need. With all this being said I would like to thank my mechanic at Done-Rite Auto who treated me as a person first and a customer second by cutting his price on labor and parts and had the car fixed in 3 days as opposed to the 52 it took Kia to fix it.

2015 Soul a big loser. Under powered especially with air turned on. So-so gas mileage. I live in FL, the air conditioner has a hard time keeping car cool once it hits 90 degrees. Below is a letter I sent to the KIA corporation on behalf of my father.Good
Below is a letter I sent to the KIA corporation on behalf of my father.Good day, my name is Brent ** and Im currently deployed to Afghanistan. Last year, my father purchased a brand new Kia Sorento from Shottenkirk in West Burlington, Iowa in 2010. He has a home in Burlington, Iowa but due to his job, he works in Maryland so as you can imagine he travels frequently between the states to see family. The first time my dad showed me his new Kia Sorento, he was extremely happy with his purchase as was I for reliability and safety options that came with the vehicle. Ive been reading numerous reviews regarding the Kia brand, so I felt extremely comfortable about my fathers new purchase. Being deployed, Ive had time to review different vehicles for myself when I return home from deployment. I have seen and driven the Kia Sorento and I consider it to be one Im seriously considering on purchasing. I like the design, power and third row seating with all the luxury amenities that come with the Sorento. Ive mentioned this to fellow co-workers deployed with me who are also looking for a vehicle when they return back home and Ive been able to sway them to consider the Kia Sorento as well.In early September, my father was driving home from Maryland back to Iowa. The vehicle stopped working, there was a problem with the engine thus leaving my father stranded at night. He had to call a tow truck that took him and the vehicle to the nearest Kia dealer, Coughlin Kia of Newark, Ohio, 43055. There my father was provided an Enterprise rental car to continue his 550 mile trip back to Burlington, Iowa. That week he needed to head back to Maryland to go back to work. Unfortunately, his vehicle was not fixed so he could not pick it up on the way to Maryland. During the week, my father had to drive 400 miles to pick up his vehicle and pay for the rental car.As an Acura owner, I too had a problem with my transmission around 55,000miles and the vehicle was about 4 years old at the time. My Acura required a new transmission. The Acura dealership provided me with one of their vehicles while mine was being fixed until I was ready to pick-up. There was no charge for a rental car and the service I was given by Acura was top notch.I dont want to discredit the Kia brand based on the service provided by the Kia dealerships my dad interacted with. Im disappointed to hear that Coughlin Kia of Newark did not compensate my father for the entire rental vehicle knowing my father had to drive hundreds of miles to pick it up then back again. My father informed Shottenkirk in West Burlington, IA - where he purchased the new vehicle. Shottenkirk didnt try to mitigate the situation or help compensate him for the rental vehicle. My father did not ask for gas or per dime for his troubles as I would have. He just asked for full reimbursement for a rental vehicle and was denied.I believe this type of treatment of your new Kia vehicle owners will destroy the brand. I believe you have a great product that may need refinement. However, with the treatment of your Kia customers I find it extremely disturbing as a brand. Can this please be rectified with my father as soon as possible? I dont care if one of the mentioned dealerships listed above or Kia company itself reimburses my father for the rental car but that would be the least any of you could do.Update Dec 2011. Kia denied to reimburse my father the full claim for a vehicle rental which was less than $200.00.

My wife and I purchased this 2011 Kia Soul PLUS Pre-Owned from a dealership
My wife and I purchased this 2011 Kia Soul PLUS Pre-Owned from a dealership in San Juan Capistrano (Ocean Kia) in July of 2013 and we did not get any additional Warranty except for the 60-day warranty that this car came with. Yesterday, 9/08/2014, my wife was sitting in her car in a parking lot for no more than 20 Minutes, parked, parking brake ON, AC on as well. The vehicle then started to Shake like something in the engine was happening. My wife then turned off the vehicle and tried turning the vehicle back on... Nothing happened. The car had power still and the ignition was making the clicking sound of trying to start but to no avail. My wife let the car rest for about 4 hours before trying to start the car again and this time it started, so she started driving. She made it onto the freeway and started driving home THEN the car lost power to the engine and the steering became difficult and she was able to coast to the emergency lane and called me HYSTERICAL and said her car had shut down! The car would not start for another 5 minutes, turned back on, and she was able to exit the freeway to a Park and Ride type of parking lot... While pulling into the Park and Ride THE CAR STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP THIS TIME AND SHUT OFF AGAIN AND WOULD NOT GET OUT OF PARK AFTER IT DIED. My wife hadnt even made it to a parking spot yet.THE CAR DIDNT TURN BACK ON AGAIN AND EVERYTHING, ALL POWER TURNED OFF. STEERING WHEEL STILL LOCKED. I told her about using the Shift lock release and, while the car was still off, putting the car into drive and then back to park and try to start it again and it did. She was able to get the car into a safer spot and left it there. I read about that trick in a forum... But no reason for why or how, haha. We are out of our warranty BUT THIS ISNT A WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE and We dont know what to do. We have regular maintenance done and we take care of the car and I know that These Souls, even the 2014, have had similar issues. It sucks because these are fun cars to drive BUT apparently have issues.

I bought a new 60,000 dollar vehicle Kia Sorrento, I have had to boost it first thing in morning, I have had to boost it when out shopping in parking lot. I went into Kia and they said they would charge me 140 if they could find nothing wrong. I should not be charged anything as there is definitely something wrong. Sorrento is loaded and they said if youre using a lot of things in car it takes 18 to 20 minutes to charge battery back up. I boosted it yesterday in parking lot of bed, bath and beyond drove around 20 min, came home parked it, just went out to start it dead again. I think either battery is not big enough to have enough reserve power or parasitic drain or it’s not fully charging (not my fault).Yesterday the light over the button for locking door went out. As I said vehicle is new under 12000 kilometres. I think it is terrible youre dead in the water after you buy a 60000 dollar vehicle. I regret buying a Kia, this was my first and never ever had this prob with another vehicle. People beware, I sure do not want to be left walking in 40 below weather.

I never go anywhere without my jumper cables. In November 2015 I had to leave the car at dealership for 3 days so they could try to figure out the problem. They decided I needed a new battery. I am still having starting problems. I brought the car in last month they said there is no problem. Yesterday had to have it jumped 3 times. Im disgusted.

To get a $500.00 rebate, I finance my 2014 Kia Soul (!) with the whole shebang through Kia Finance. 1st invoice came and showed the payoff amount. Sent them a check. Within a couple of weeks, got the pink slip in the mail. Then a week or so later, a check came in the mail as the payoff amount was over what was on the invoice. Very happy with their honesty. Had a Hyundai before and their manufacturer was great standing behind their product beyond 5 years... Never had a repair bill, just basic maintenance.

I have a 2014 Kia with 130,000 highway miles. It is now using oil. In the 50+ years I have owned vehicles I have never had one that used oil. At 86,000 miles it needed rear calipers because they were rusted on. Four mechanics told me this was not normal. This car is either on the highway or in a dry garage. Kia refused to help in any way shape or form. Needless to say my next vehicle will not be a Kia. I purchased this vehicle from the Kia dealership in Boardman Ohio and I have never experienced such unprofessional customer service.

My passenger side air bag light went on and I was told that I would need a new bottom part of a seat which would cost me $1.542.00. I feel that this is a safety issue that KIA motors should cover. I bought this brand new 2008 KIA Spectra. I call KIA Motors about this and the man that I talked to was not a helpful person at all and said it would take two days to see if they could help. Well, they called me within a few hours and stated they would not help me out. 3 yrs old and the car has this kind of issue.

KIA Picanto 2016 Dont trust KIA Motors! The first technical problem that occurred with the KIA was in August, the car was taken to the KIA service in order to fix the problem. I was told that the problem had been entirely fixed and would not happen again. However, after a month the exact same problem occurred. The car completely stopped in the middle of the road and the steering wheel locked making it impossible for me to move the car somewhere safe. I had two young children in the back and this situation could have easily caused an extremely serious accident with not just myself and my family but others on the road. The car was taken to the KIA service in order to fix the same problem once again. This exact same problem has now occurred three times and each time it has caused me an overwhelming deal of stress, money and time. I am extremely frustrated and angry with this entire situation, the problem had supposedly been dealt with, I am not comfortable driving this car anymore as it is clearly not up to road safety standards and would never want to risk putting the life of my children or others on the road in any kind of danger.

Why did my valve stem for my 2010 Kia Soul break? This will cost me $200.00
Why did my valve stem for my 2010 Kia Soul break? This will cost me $200.00 to replace. I love driving my little Kia. I was told Montgomery Kia/Chevrolet Preston Hwy Louisville KY personnel that, it is not covered under bumper to bumper warranty. They said that it is manufacturing defect and it was not broken by them. The stem is not covered by the warranty. A reason why it broke is that a long stem air hose chuck was used to replace the air. Individuals wiggling the long extension air chuck can bend and break off the computerized air valve. I believe in keeping good air pressure in my tires saves gas and tire wear. I believe that whether I had used or service attendant had used a shorted air stem chuck on this valve stem to this tire. It still would have broken off. And when the air hose extension chuck used on this tire, air hose was removed for air stem of this tire, the stem came with the extension chuck. This tire on the driver side front has several times registered air pressure was low on my dash lights the last six months. The tires on vehicles sometime lose air pressure. The weather changes from normal temperatures to lower cold temperatures.I was told by one of Montgomery Kia technicians that this is manufacturing defect of the company that makes this computerized valve air stem. While I was making an appointment with the dealership to replace the defective stem, the air stem on this tire had lost air pressure while my Kia Soul was in motion on the highway. This would be considered a blow out. As my Kia Soul was sitting still, the tire went flat immediately.I have very good records of service done on my Kia, which all recommends service checks have been done at Montgomery Kia. The manufacture defective valve stem broke and deflated at car service station. I had them replace the air stem with regular valve stem, which since 2008 most vehicles have this feature letting you know when tire pressure is low. This is a very good feature on my Kia. By the way, if anyone has a Hyundai 2008-2012, you have the same computerized valve stems in your tires like mine. Valve stem on a tire before 2008, you basically had to rip up the metal rim of a tire or unscrew the core of valve stem out for a tire to go flat, not because the valve stems were manufactured with defect parts. The computerized valve stem to me has alloyed (metal) fatigued. I believe in safe lighter vehicles, but you need dependable tires, rims and valve stems on the vehicles. If your engine blow-up, you will come to a rolling stop. If your computerized valve stems break on one your tires, you may be in an accident. If this manufacturing defect from a company that produced this computerized valve stem to me, should this be a recall from Kia. How many vehicles that are on the road that this company manufacturing defective computerized valve stems? How many Fords, Chevrolets, Hondas, Toyotas and Kia on the road today?

I purchased a 2013 Kia Sorento from Drivetime in October 2018. In less than a year my cars engine seized up in August 2019, due to a recall dating back to 2014. My car was towed to kia and stayed there for a month, in that time I was not offered a rental car but had to pay out of pocket for one, A bill that exceeded $1,000 not to mention I had to continue to pay the car note on a car I didnt have. I received the car back in late September and was directed to the kia.com website to file my reimbursement claim. The claim took two months to process and yet here we are in January 2020 and I still dont have the money in which I provider full documentation for. The customer service line is the worst, they seem to have little to NO KNOWLEDGE on whats going on. Its ridiculous. I wouldnt recommend this company to ANYBODY!!!

On 07/08/2015 I was visiting my parents at their home and when it was time to leave, I told my children to go ahead and get in the car. The reason I was ok with this is because I had the keys in my hand!! I said goodbye and walked out the door not 2 minutes later, and my car was gone. My 4 year old was able to disengage the car from park and my car rolled 75 feet down hill, it finally stopped by coming to rest on a tree. During this time my 6 year old was thrown from the vehicle because he was in the process of getting in the car. He ended up with a laceration on his head and a trip to the hospital where he had to have a CT scan. Once we had the car towed up my father was able to do the same thing with the car, he disengaged it from park while the keys were not in it, his feet were also not in the car. So my car is able to come out of park without the keys and without depressing the brake. I have since found others reports of this online. This is highly unacceptable to me. We contacted the service manager at the dealership where we purchased the vehicle and he was of no help to us. I have just made a formal complaint to Kia, but who know what will come of this. To anyone who is looking to buy a Kia please check that this will not happen in your vehicle. I would hate for someone else, or someone else to get hurt.

My mom has a 2013 Kia Soul. My mom does not drive on the freeway nor does she travel. She is retired and only drives around town. The car only has 30,000 miles on it is 6 years. She gets it maintenance on time at the dealership only. Last year the car started jerking and jumping when you would step on the gas while you were driving. She took it to the dealership. They fixed it, now this year the car is paid off and my mom has moved to Arizona from California. The car is doing it again, and now the engine light is coming on. She now has to pay big bucks to get it diagnosed and fixed maybe. My point is. After buying a new car off the lot, loving and caring for the car by way of dealership only like they suggest, using the best gas, and very low mileage, this car should last forever! So KIAs in my opinion are ** cars, now my 71 years old mother has to be dealing with this instead of enjoying her retirement. IM PISSED!

I was looking for a car with great gas mileage, comfortable in seating 5 people, and would last for many years. I bought the 2009 Kia Spectra LE and had some reservations as I had always owned either a Ford or Chevrolet all of the years I had driven but the salesman indicated that the nitrogen tires increased the gas mileage. After owning it for 2 years I developed an air leak and kept taking it to the dealership to get nitrogen in the tire until they could get me in for service on the tire. I finally just started using air and found absolutely no difference in my gas mileage so I have since replaced all 4 tires with regular air tires.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Got this car for my daughter who’s paid this note since 2015- car almost paid off only owes $2900. Contacted them in December 2020 for a two month extension being my daughter lost her job due to COVID. January told by Kia rep that everything was good to go- no payment due till February. Today she’s notified her payment is over 30 days past due. When my daughter called Kia the reps said there was a glitch and refused to put a supervisor on. So I called and I was told the extension didn’t go through because the system tapped out (whatever that means)! Meanwhile not one person corrected this so called tapped out error on their part or contacted either one of us to let us know anything new needs done! This doesn’t make any sense what’s so ever! So then they said the $675 that’s now past due needs paid so my daughter paid it- I requested a supervisor or manager and then was told they don’t have one In the building! Again- WHAT! I have never heard of such insanity!I tried to see how to file a corporate complaint but of course that’s no use because when I tried to ask I’m told to log onto KIA- I log onto KIA and now the account is locked! So now all though my account going past 30 days isn’t anyone’s fault but Kia’s they will probably have the audacity to send this to my credit bureaus against me when it’s clearly their own error! Just awful! I will NEVER get another Kia vehicle again in my life and neither will my daughter- damn sure won’t ever Finance anything through them again! None of them know what they are doing and I suppose it’s because as stated by the rep no supervisor or manager is ever present in the building!

To start things off, I just want to say that I WILL NEVER purchase another
To start things off, I just want to say that I WILL NEVER purchase another Kia. Back in November of 2019, I hit a deer and had to have somebody work done at my local body shop. When that was completed, I had to take it to Kia of Lincoln, NE to have the new module that was put in by the body shop reprogrammed. What was supposed to be a simple fix, Kia of Lincoln ended up having my vehicle for almost a month and a half. They also had to fly a tech in from another state to figure out what was wrong with it and why the codes wouldnt clear. They hardly ever communicated with me on what was going on and when Id call in to get an update, they would have to call me back or say that they were still trying to figure out the problem. When I finally got it back, it seemed to function as it should. However, that didnt last long though. There was a several times where I would have sensor lights come on and the vehicle would act up. The most recent occurrence was when I was driving home from work and a bunch of sensor lights came on, my cruise control quit working and I had to pull over on the side of the interstate. I ended up having to shut my vehicle off and when I started it back up, it wouldnt shift out of park. I had to have it towed to a Kia dealership in Grand Island, NE the following day to see if they could diagnose the problem. They werent able to duplicate the vehicle not being able to shift out of park, but they did find that the module that was supposed to be reprogrammed when Kia of Lincoln had it, was never done correctly. This is why the sensor lights kept coming on. I ended up having a bill that I was told that I was responsible for since the issue was not covered under warranty due to it being related to the accident. I reached out to the dealership in Lincoln several times and they basically told me that they did everything correctly and that there wasnt anything else that they could do. This is when I decided to contact Kia Consumer Services to see if they could help me out. I explained what was going on to them and was told that Id get a call back the next day. A few days passed by and I still hadnt heard anything. I ended up calling back a little over a week later to find out that my case had been turned over to someone else. No one bothered to let me know once again. I reached out to them again a few days later to get some answers and was told by the person that I spoke with that it wasnt their problem, so I needed to contact my insurance company I had at the time of the accident. He also hung up on me after he proceeded to say that he wasnt going to argue with me. So, I contacted them see if they would help me out. I finally received an answer back and they agreed to cover the bill after they had already paid for the vehicle to be fixed correctly the first time when Kia of Lincoln had it. I think the part that irritates me the most is, the dealership that didnt fix it correctly the first time wouldnt even help me out and they are the same dealership that I purchased my vehicle from. Its going on a month now and Im still without my vehicle. Ive had to drive other peoples to get to and from when this could of easily been taken care of within a matter of a few days.

In Feb bought 2014 Sorento as replacement for 2012. Within a short time, noticed in bright light could not see or easily see speedometer needle and kph numbers. It was snowing when picked car up and cloudy on test drives. Have met with general manager of dealership, sales manager, service manager and others. They are all very polite and listen but ultimately say they can do nothing unless Kia authorizes it and give me lip service. Also have talked with Kia Corp in CA. Everything is fine at night or cloudy days. Must take eyes off road for too long to find speedometer needle. It seems as if it auto dims from a sensor as just backing out of the garage the brightness of the instrument panel dims. I am told there is no sensor. All Kia gives me is a scripted response that it is working as designed. Kia can not help you. The dealership claims the problem is probably due to a reflection. However, I can put a blanket over the steering wheel and surrounding instrument panel and notice very little increase in brightness. The problem is a software issue they refuse to address. They need only change the color of the needle. Several others have filed complaints with NTSB for same issue. I am told the red needle is an electronically generated image and blends into a black background. Also the side window screen rattles and am told there is no adjustment available. Since design features are not covered by warranty, everyone refuses to do anything as it is working as designed. I plan to approach arbitration and contact an attorney but have small hopes this little guy will beat the big corporation. Ultimately, will need to get rid of the car and take a financial bath to feel safe driving. This was my 2nd Kia and at least third car from this dealership but will be my last Kia and last car from the local Newark, Delaware dealership. The 2012 was a great car, the reason I was comfortable going to the 2014.

2014 KIA CADENZA. I have been a Kia owner for the past 10 yrs. I previously owned the AMANTI that I loved very very much, until the very end when I decided to trade in for a new Cadenza. But I seem to have a internal noise problem with the cadenza. I noticed the clicking noise about 200 mile. I took it to the dealer, however they said could not find a problem. I returned again after 300 miles, still with the problem. The sales manager advised me to wait until after 500 miles to open a case with Kia. I returned the auto after 900 miles, they looked into it. On Nov 13th 2014 they wrote the following on the work order PIT STOP P5282 SIDE CENTER OF SUNROOF, NOISE COMING FROM LOOSE SCREWS HOLDING SUNROOF CURTAIN IN PLACE: 85310R00 3.2 HEADLINER BAR, 81651 - 3R500... FAILED PART, RE-SECURED AND PREFORMED PIT STOP FOR RATTLE. Well after month later the problem return, I wrote an email complaining to dealer that noise appears to have return. On 01/06/15 I took the car back to the dealership for the same noise. The dealership found no problem and wrote the following: TEST DROVE CAR WITH TECHNICIAN FOR 7 MILES OVER VARIOUS ROAD SURFACES AND OVER BUMPS COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM, NO PROBLEM FOUND. Problem still exist. The dealership indicated that they drove the car for over 7 miles and found no problem, however I had noted the mileage on the car and found that the car had only been driven under a mile. I filed a complaint sales manager at the dealership, which the service manager admitted that they did not drive the car only around the block. I preceded to file a compliant with Kia customer service and meet with the District Manger. It took about 2 weeks to confirm the meeting at the dealership. I finally met with DM who drove with me and agree there was a problem. It took over 2 more weeks to schedule a repair date. On 3/25/15, Once again I returned the car to the dealership and they found a problem. Stating the following: C/S noise coming from roof of vehicle near the roof. Please check and advise. Effective part # 81630R500. Found edge of sunroof plate bolts were over torqued causing rail to sit improperly in track adjusted to Kia specs and road tested with technician and Kia DSPN, adjusted sunroof plates, no noise present at this time.Once again the noise has come back and even worst, metal bouncing inside of sunroof. I stop by the dealership on 4/14 and talked to the service manger, which rode with me and agreed there was a noise. He preceded to advise me that he would contact the DM of Kia and call me when arrangement made. On 4/16/15 the service manager called stating still waiting on DM call back. On April 22, he contacted me stating which day early next week was good. On April 24th contact SM and advised him that on April 28th at 10 am would be fine to meet with the SM and DM. To my surprise, the DM was not present. I advised the SM to contact me when the DM would show up so that I was involved in the loop. However, that did not occur. On 4/29 the service manger advised me by phone that no problem was found. I have requested once again to meet with the DM and take the service manager and District Kia manager on a ride, so they understand the noise factor. I have requested to meet the DM through the Kia customer service and Service manger at the dealer, once again review the problem and take test drive with me present. Still waiting for a response as of 5/1/15. I am extremely unhappy with the noise of this cadenza, most passenger hear the noise. Now the dealer is sending messages that I need to return the loaner car, because KIA is not going to pay for the use of the loaner. So now they are threatening me with billing my credit car for a dealer loaner. I have not heard from KIa regarding this matter as of yet. Frankly I am beginning to dislike the fact that I purchased this cadenza, though I was extremely happy with my KIA AMANTI. CASE # **. One of the solutions has been to have the sunroof completely changed according to other kia cadenza owners who have experienced the same situation.

We bought a 2008 Kia Rondo EX 2.4L brand new from the dealership and opted for the Kia Protect 5 Star plan extended warranty. Thankfully this covered repeated visits for struts and front end parts and included the premature timing chain (not belt) replacement at 140K. At 151K the engine throws a rod through the block. All oil changes performed and documented and reviewed and approved by Kia. However the Kia Protect warranty states two items: 1) Repair will be covered up to the wholesale value of the vehicle (originally I was told by Kia my wholesale value was $1500 but after a month Kia Protect reviewed and increased to $3500).2) Warranty repairs may include new or reconditioned Kia parts but also says at the discretion of the administrator .Response from the dealership: I spoke with the extended warranty company this morning and they gave me a max value they will cover, they will cover to a max of $1479.00, and they will only install OEM Kia parts, which means you would have to cover the difference, and new parts and install you’ll be looking upwards of 10,000.00 which would be a large difference to cover. Your other option is a used complete motor assembly that would be approx. 4700.00 plus taxes installed, but they will not cover any of it. Motor will take a few business days to get to us, then we would need a few days for install.I argued with both the dealership and Kia that may include does not mean must include. However Kia Protect will only replace the engine with a new Kia engine and will not consider a used engine. Estimate from Kia Protect (LGM FINANCIAL SERVICES INC.) The estimate is as follows: total estimate $9484.60. Kia protect: $3500 including taxes. Remaining balance to be paid by contract holder: $5984.60. There is a $500 difference in the amount if the head does not have be machined. Escalated issue from Kia Protect from adjuster, supervisor and manager to no avail. Will be looking for a new vehicle from someone more reliable that stands by their product.

New 2012 4cyl GPI AWD Sorento - Initially got 12mpg city, got excited when it started to get 14mpg. Now, it’s down to 10.4mpg. Have just over 4k miles on the vehicle. I contacted consumer affairs and was given a number to reference with the dealer service. Service found nothing wrong with the vehicle.I can get better mileage with 8cyl hemi. This is totally wrong and needs to be dealt with. My options are to trade it in and lose money, or look to the market or legal for help.

I have called several times, but I can not wait longer than 30 minutes while at work. I tried the web, but I cant register as the error says my birthday is wrong. As stupid as this may sound, I tried several times to get on auto pay since I had moved several items that when I stopped getting invoices, I assumed I had finally been successful. And as I had a new bank account that I was using for bills, I assumed the payment was coming out of that. I didnt realize I was in arrears until a collector called and threatened me. I paid the arrears and still cant get them on the phone or the web to get auto pay set up. I havent gotten a bill this month. It is a very pathetic customer service. I am just trying to give them money.

Proud owner of a KIA Stinger GT, so called top model of KIA (please go to last sentence if you want the short version). I have owned may new cars in my life and had never had so many issues with any of them but when I had issues I was serviced properly and got a courtesy car for the time of not having a brand new car. I understand that 3 year I would not class as brand new but anything between 1 and 2 year and less than 50,000 km I would. 7 year warranty is only as good as the service they provide and what does it help if I cannot drive my car because it is in repair because of manufacturing faults. A few things I came across from brand new, paint chips like glass. The smallest stone will leave a damage (compared to my previous car which I had for more than 4 years), in 2 month I had more stone chips than in 4 years with my Mazda 3 SPS25. Nothing changed in the way I use the car or where I drive it.When picking up the car brand new already had water mark stains which they pretend not to see till I pushed their nose down on it. The leather seats had already indent/loss of shape. When I had a puncture on the front tire (15ks) the service center advised that the tire would be repairable, no issue with the puncture but the manufacturer put a tire on which is unsafe and has a huge shaving inside (Continental Tires), this tires were not on stock and I had to replace 2 front tires to be safe again. The thread was not even halve used, I sent Continental a photo of the tire and they ask to bring the tire to them. Well normally I do not hang my broken tires around my neck and as this is a wear and tear item I was under the assumption that it would not be covered by warranty and left it with the tire service.Next day I called them to ask if they still have them but they were picked up ($500 down the drain). All this thinks I can live with after all this Stinger is a nice car and when you pay for top model you have to expect top problems (a little sarcasm :-). Moving on now having 25,000 km (15,500 miles) on the car and coming out to my garage to find the car dead as a 10 year old battery can be when used in a start stop system, non of this is applicable to my car and the winters are very soft in Australia. I blamed my selves for not being careful when cleaning my car (no one else is allowed to clean my cars, Im very fastidious with my car) and may have left something on overnight. Hard enough to find out that battery is in the boot and it is not accessible when electric is down. I called KIA service to be told battery is not a warranty item (wrong, their terms and conditions states 24 month, car is only 17 month old).Well in the end I called KIA roadside assist and they came very fast (kudos to them) and they replaced the battery without any bad comments. No charges, me happy camper again, till I went away for 2 days with my other car and the car was dead again. I had to go to work as I had very important meetings and interstate customer flew in for this meeting so I was unable to accommodate for them (not of your concern sorry back to the facts). My partner had to drop off the car after roadside assist managed to jump start the car, at KIA service they let her wait till the last courtesy car was gone and told her car needs to stay for investigation. She had to find her way home from a location which has no easy public transport and we just live 9 km away from the service center. The sales center is just up the road and they at least had the courtesy to drop her off at home (Kudos to them but feel also sorry for them as the service center is a shocker and what they try to make good service center will destroy). Now Im sitting on my desk at work waiting for a call 3 days after and not one call to keep me up to date. Meanwhile I researched the problem and within one hour I found out that it is actually a common problem on several cars already returned for that particular reason, only KIA will know how many but as Im very particular with my car I would assume there are many out their. Im sure they will fix the car in the end but this is not my issue, it is the fact not to react to a common problem and thoroughly investigate and communicate such huge problem (I classify an un-drivable car as useless) as it could be fixed quickly and may also preventive be fixed in a service (not going there either another dark chapter).Forgot to mention gear popping out when trying to quickly shift from park into drive or reverse when parking and trying to get out of harms way. You must be tired by now and I bring it to an end other you fall over dead. Moral is that a 7 year guaranty is only as good as the service and the car if it is fixed and you missing your car all the time you still give a damn about the 7 year. Not saying other manufacturer have no problems either but this is the first time in about 10 brand new cars I owned I have such issues. The car could have been the neck breaker for the likes of Audi, BMW, Mercedes but I think they cannot even reach the service and quality of Mazda. Yes I love that car that is why I swallowed all this crap so far but be aware when you buy a new car. What is more important a car who runs or a car who has 7 years warranty to be in the service center all the time and you left stranded without car. Good luck with your next car.

My Picanto 2011 horn or Klaxon, was working properly, but when I came down
My Picanto 2011 horn or Klaxon, was working properly, but when I came down the mountains to arrive at sea level, it stopped for a while and it worked again by itself. I took my car to the Kia maintenance room at Beirut, Lebanon, but they wouldnt know the reason. They just answered, “we dont know, its working now.” Take note, I bought the car from Kia Lebanon with 0km.The interiors are crunching, especially the front glass. Is it normal? Take note that Lebanon does not have high temperature, we are not Sahara that the car should melt. The wheel stands are easily damaged and I repair them by kicking them, are they plastic?

I leased a Kia Optima from Kia of West Nyack NY. I had paid for lease & wear coverage ($449) because it was my first Kia. I wasn’t sure if I would lease again from them. Didn’t want to get hit with a high bill at the end of lease. So 3 years go by I return my lease. Get my cost $750 end of lease fees. Which would have been fine if the dealership didn’t pocket the $449. They never purchased the coverage. When I called the company to file my claim. The paperwork & brochures were from. They said they never worked with Kia of West Nyack. WOW bunch of crooks! They were selling the dealership & knew I wouldn’t know until 3 years later. This company didn’t make it right. Which tells me a lot about How they care about their customers. All I asked was for $250 of additional cost. The other monies I would have had to pay regardless. Don’t buy Kia!!!!

I have never experienced customer service this terrible in my entire life.
I have never experienced customer service this terrible in my entire life. I have been given a defective vehicle, the dealerships wont help me, Kia Corporate wont help me, and I have been try to get someone to look at my car FOR OVER A YEAR!!! This is by far the worst experience when purchasing a car and I was given a lemon. I have kept track of my 2021 Seltos mileage and I get no more than 18 mpg IN A SELTOS!!!! I have made countless attempts to contact KIA for help and they have not once given me any option or even offered to check my car. I have letter and emails and even tried going to the BBB and no one NO ONE has ever bothered to help me.

Kia Optima Hybrid Engine - We were driving home from something on Mothers D
Kia Optima Hybrid Engine - We were driving home from something on Mothers Day and the car made a loud sound and the engine stopped running. It threw a rod and ruined the engine. Kia now is saying that this is not covered under warranty because the car had the wrong oil filter and was not getting adequate oil in the engine. Havoline says that this is not the case and that it is the proper filter. In addition, even if there were an issue with the filter clogging, it would bypass the filter and oil would still flow. I have done nothing wrong but now I am in a fight. It looks like Kia is trying to just make an excuse instead of actually honoring their warranty responsibility.
