2023 BMW M4 CSL teased ahead of debut
Posted On: May 4, 2022
The 2023 BMW M4 CSL will debut at Italy's 2022 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este that will run May 20-22. BMW M released a teaser for this more hardcore version of the M4 on Facebook Wednesday. A BMW press release published that same day confirmed the CSL will make its public debut at Villa d'Este. As a refresher, CSL stands for "Coupe Sport Lightweight." The last BMW to get a CSL variant was the E46-generation M3, in a limited run of just 1,400 units between 2002 and 2004. We've been expecting a new CSL since 2017, when then-BMW M boss Frank Van Meel said new CSL models were coming, including one that would replace the previous-generation M4 GTS. 2023 BMW M4 CSL spy shots - Photo credit: S. Baldauf/SB-Medien Spy shots indicate the M4 CSL will get a an extended front spoiler, a ducktail-style rear spoiler, and a new design for the lower air intakes on the front fascia. It retains the controversial new BMW grille, however. The E46 M3 CSL and M4 GTS both had cabins stripped to the bare essentials in an effort to save weight, so that will likely be the case with the M4 CSL as well. The CSL will likely retain the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 from other versions of the M4, but possibly with more power than the 473 hp of the standard M4 and 503 hp of the M4 Competition. 2023 BMW M4 CSL teaser With the latest M4 (and M3) adding all-wheel drive as an option for the first time, it will be interesting to see if BMW does the same with the M4 CSL. The all-wheel drive system is rear-biased, but, in keeping with its more hardcore mission, the CSL could stick with old fashioned rear-wheel drive to save weight. Stay tuned for more details when the M4 CSL debuts later this month.

Many performance positives, however, an electronic/electrical nightmare with a price tag out of this world for every ** little thing. And the damn thing is only 3 years old with 50k miles on it! And when you call BMW HQ if you had anyone but the dealers touch it’s then they are not responsible. ** THEM! I will never own another BMW as long as I live, nor will anyone directly related to me. On the other hand if you buy one you deserve every headache you get... and you WILL get them!!! Cant wait to get rid of this damn thing.

BMW lease assumptions program/department is a huge scam. Keep your money. They have a really good side hustle going on, here we go. So I decided to do a lease assumption. The payment on the M4 is $1015 per month. I make over $90,000 per year so I can definitely afford the car, my credit score is 759 but I don’t have any of the 4 car I had prior showing on my credit report because that was 10 years ago. They were all deleted. Now I was under the impression if you have good accounts that are paid in full zero balance whether open or close they stay on your report it. I was wrong. So with that being said I applied for the car on my own. I make $90,000, 759 Score, outstanding debt. Less than $2000. This should be no problem. I paid the $543 transfer and app fee to be declined with no logical explanation. Took them less than a minute to make that rash decision but kept $143 of the $543 so I went and got a co-signer not a person a corporation that co-signs for people. That’s the business they are in. Now BMW is telling them it’s too expensive of a car. I should get something cheaper which is beyond ridiculous. I make enough to pay for this car and the backing of a corporate and that’s still not enough, but now they kept another $143 so they have a really nice scam going on. Spend your money where it’s appreciated.

Re: 2007X3. Many times since, approximately the vehicle had 60K miles, prior to my 100k miles warranty running out, even though I was experiencing problems with my transmission (i.e. not shifting properly, clunking when shifting, noise and jerking when shifting), the Service Dept. told me there was nothing wrong. Now that I have 120k miles on it and my X3 will not go into AWD, I am told by Erhard that my transmission differential needs a $1,400 repair. I have never missed maintenance and at the last maintenance, I was complaining about my transmission.I would like my transmission problem fixed at no cost to me. It seems BMW, blew me off to get me through until my warranty was up (extended to 100k that I paid for). Very disappointing and too costly for me. My wife and I both own BMWs and will be going to a different make vehicle because of the deceitful treatment I have received. Something should be done about BMWs lack of responsibility when it comes to taking care of warranty issues.

This is my first experience owning a BMW. I have owned Chevy, GMC, etc. The technology in this car is amazing. The lighting, the craftsmanship and even the quality of the paint job surpasses any other car Ive owned. The 8 cylinder engine drives like a dream. The car and maintenance is pricey. But so worth it.

In July 2011, I sent an email to the BMW dealer in Cairo complaining about my BMW 525i Chassis Number: CS28301. My BMW was bought in 2007, and only has 120,000 km, but I am already having problems with the radiator and water pump. It is quite frustrating and disappointing on my part because I expected my BMW to last longer. I had the impression that it is built out of high quality materials, and it will never go fault that fast. I have other basic cars; Verna, Tarcel and Vectra, the same age as the BMW and maybe even older with higher mileage (300,000 KM), but they are still in good shape and has not malfunctioned unlike my BMW.My email was promptly answered, and I was told that I have to shoulder the expenses for the repair because my vehicle is already out of warranty since December 17, 2008. I had a BMW AG warranty policy, which was two years unlimited mileage. Mr. Hassan ** apologized for the inconvenience caused, and the time I spent dealing with my car problem. However, he said that the vehicle and their parts, regardless of how well made or maintained, do not have an infinite life span, and eventually replacement costs must be borne by the customer. He added that based on the vehicle age and mileage, they cannot consider the fault as a manufacturing defect.I relied that I will repair the car; I will sell it, and buy a Mercedes or Japanese car. I told them that BMW will lose its customer because its an expensive car, but not a durable car. Finally, I said that I will not recommend BMW to anyone I know.Copies of the emails are available for inspection.

I purchased a 2006 BMW 750li from the dealership on 10/14/2011. After purchasing the vehicle, I realized that the front end right side headlight was not aligned properly. I immediately called back to the dealer salesman Rich ** and informed him of my findings. He said that the dealership was closing, and to take pictures and send to him what I had noticed. I sent him pictures and informed him that I would contact the dealership in the morning which was10/15/2011. I called the dealership in the morning as I said, I would and spoke to Rich **. He proceeded to send me pictures of another vehicle with the same situation. He instructed me to take the vehicle to my local BMW dealership and have it inspected. On Monday 10/17/2011, I took the vehicle to Dryer Reinbold BMW in Indianapolis, Indiana for an inspection. After getting the vehicle back and talking with the Service Manager, I was told that I should take the vehicle to BMW Collision Center for further evaluation. I called and made an appointment for Friday10/28/2011. I had taken the vehicle in for an inspection, and was told by the Technician that the vehicle had previously been involved in an accident of some sort, which was causing the misalignment. I immediately contacted the Laurel BMW dealership to speak with the Used Car Service Manager Guy **, but he was not available. I proceeded to leave a message on his voicemail regarding the situation. I continued to try and reach someone, who could help me with this matter. I was instructed to call the General Manager Patrick ** and leave him a message.I proceeded to fax over the estimates that were given to me by the BMW Collision Center. On Saturday 10/29/2011, I called Guy ** to see what could be done, but was not able to communicate with him because of his attitude so I called Patrick **. I ultimately could not reach him so I left several messages on his voicemail. I finally decided to email Patrick some pictures of the vehicle from 10/14/2011. Patrick responded to my email, and we conversed via email regarding the matter. Patrick finally emailed asking me to give him til Monday because he was too busy to further address this matter regarding the vehicle.

Please will be highly appreciated to have your involvements since I have noticed few serious issues which I felt it is worth highlighting it to you all. Basically, it is really disappointing to see a poor support from Local agent in Sultanate of Oman for BMW. As everyone knows BMW is worldwide class, well known and reliable vehicle. However, due to poor service it leads us to question the quality/performance of the car. The reasons of saying that as below: Whenever you take your car for service or collecting you have to wait 45 min as a minimum even if you have an appointment or ready for collection! A lot of failures and repair is costly as well, so I am not sure is it because of the vehicle not reliable or the mechanics that are available is not qualified to maintain such car? I have noticed several times, we simply receive an estimate asking for replacement, never came across for a simple repair, so is that the direction just simply change and charge for spare parts which are very high with no doubt compared where else? I would kindly request you to investigate and advise accordingly, since I am currently having two BMW: 1) X5, Model 2009, Chasis# WBAFE81039L094909, Engine# 50884258. I stopped taking it for service with agent since Dec 2014 due to the above reasons; and 2) X6, Model 2009, Chasis# WBAFG810X9L280666, Engine# 20794348.

I purchased a car at Melbourne BMW from Colorado. I was out of town on business. They cashed my 2000 $ deposit and ran my credit and asked when I was going to pick up my car, I told them Tuesday. They said, ok will have it detailed now. Then they sold my car to someone else on Sunday and still was holding the 2000 $ but this is not the issue. They sold the same car to two different people. I was extremely disappointed and furious with the service the guys at BMW of Dallas provided. This is not something you expect from a luxury car dealership. It was utterly unprofessional and zero consideration for a customer’s inconvenience and situation. My car was towed in Monday morning at 10am from work and I was being handled by a service adviser Andrew ** reporting to service manager Ricardo **. He was probably the worst guy in terms of communication. I don’t expect them to keep me updated on my cars status every few minutes but at least 1 phone call/email or text in this day and age to let me know an ETA so I could plan my ride back home from work. I usually take my car to another BMW dealership in Plano, TX Classic BMW and they are very professional. Being a BMW dealership, I expected a similar professionalism and style of communicating with their customers.I finally get a call from Andrew (this was after my multiple calls, voicemails to find out if the car had made it to the shop or not since I didn’t ride along with the tow truck) to let me know at around noon that they had received the car and will let me know what the charges maybe before they work on it. Again, no update until 4:15pm and that was again after me following up multiple times trying to find out an ETA so I could plan on my ride back home and pick up kids from after school care. I talk to him and he said he was unable to replicate the issue and thus they couldn’t fix the issue. My bill was about $300 for diagnostic fees. At that point I was furious as after all that lack of communication, he had the temperament to let me know that there was an outstanding bill.I let him know that I was very disappointed and upset with his way of communication and all he had to say was they were extremely busy and I was not their only customer. This was the last thing I expected to hear from a luxury dealership like BMW. I asked him I wanted to talk to his manager, Ricardo ** who was obviously not available to talk to me that time. Ricardo (also goes by Ricky) calls me at 7pm Monday evening to apologize and say that he expects his staff to at least communicate with their customers and let them know what the status may be. I told him I would be over tomorrow (Tuesday) to pick up the car.Tuesday a.m. (day 2) when I called them to notify that I was going to need a shuttle pick up from my work (which is about 8 mi. 15 min drive), Carlos at their shuttle desk told me he would have someone at 3pm to pick me up. I wrapped up my meeting and was waiting outside for my ride. I call them at 3:20 p.m. to check on the status and talk to Carlos after multiple transfers on their phone and long holds, he tells me that the shuttle is picking up other customers and will come get me in next 10-15 mins. At that point, it would have been 3:45 p.m. I finally get tired of waiting and get a ride to the dealership. We reach there at about 4:15 and I called Carlos again to check on the shuttle status out of curiosity and he tells me the guy should be there in another 15 mins?? At that time, it would have been maybe 4:30 p.m. or more. There was no apology or remorse from Carlos either at that point. So basically they didn’t care or feel bad keeping their customers stranded for over 1.5 hours. Again no communication whatsoever to let me know what the status of the shuttle was or any type of intention to remediate the problem. I met Ricardo finally in person and told him how upset I was. He said he had talked to Andrew about his lack of communication but I really doubt if he had taken any action. It is Wednesday afternoon and I yet have not heard anything back from Andrew ** in terms of any voicemail or emails? When I left, I had a letter attached to my receipt that asked to provide a customer feedback from their client experience manager Erika **. I left her a detailed voice message yesterday about my experience on my way back home, but another example where the manager has not gotten back to me at all.I feel the issue seems to be with the team there where they don’t think their customers need to be treated with utmost priority and professionalism. Especially when there has been so much of an inconvenience and hassle for someone, there was no effort on their part to get back and try to make amends. This was one of the worst experience having to deal with a dealership in terms of communication and way they treat their customers. VERY DISAPPOINTED. NOT RECOMMENDING TO ANYONE IN THE FUTURE TO USE THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT.

I have been having a problem with my car since I bought it brand new. First
I have been having a problem with my car since I bought it brand new. First incident occurred a week after buying my car at Sandton Auto. I had a problem with my brake pads. They were very noisy and couldn’t brake properly and got to a point where they had to be change within less than a month of buying a brand new car. After that, everything else was wrong in that car. Just after 2 months it started to have this noise in front - could be in the engine, I don’t know. I had to go home (Eastern Cape) so I couldn’t bring the car in. When I came back, I took my car to Zambezi Auto as I am closer to that side. They tried to fix it saying that it’s the cables going to or from the fan. All those cables were changed and my car was there for about 2 to 3 days.I went to collect the car and just before I got home the same day, the noise was still there. I called them and told them that what they did didn’t help even one bit. They arranged for me to bring back the car the following day. And mind you, that this is my only car, I just cannot afford to be taking it in where I can’t even get a loan car or any kind of assistance in terms of transport to and from work. My car spends another good 3 days there with them changing some other cables as well and re-gasing the fan or air-con. Then I went to collect my car again and the problem was still there. The noise was so loud that even people at the robot would turn heads. I told the dealer again that the problem was not fixed. This time around the cables inside my car were hanging around on the passenger sit side where I had to tuck them in. This is a new BMW car for God’s sake.I had to travel to Swaziland, so I was away for a month. When I came back, I had a tire bust and my car was towed to Menlyn Auto. Then, I told them as well about the problem. They looked at it as well and tried to fix it, but no luck. They said there was a new part that was needed and ordered it. And again I had to be car-less for more than a week. They did a test drive and told me that unfortunately the noise is still there and there is something else they have to do. Again, they chopped and changed whatever it was, but still the first day of me collecting the car the noise was there.I called them and told them as well, but nothing happened. I decided to bring it to the dealer I bought it from, which is Sandton Auto. I came with my problem and explained to the manager the whole story and the fact that if I bring my car in, I will need a loan car (which I was promised to get but didn’t). Then my car was booked in (this is the fourth time now in a dealer with the same problem). It stayed about 3 days because they had to keep the car in for testing in the morning to see exactly what could be wrong. They changed something as well and also when I went to collect the car, the noise was there before I could even get to the robot near them. I called them again and told them that whatever they did, it didn’t work because now the noise is getting worse. They booked the car again for the following week. I took my car there again to spend 2 days without a car and having to use public transport because no one could help. It stayed there again and they fixed few things, but still no luck. This time they even changed the entire computer system and this car was even giving false alarm warnings. This is what they told me and they didn’t know why because when they check the key, there was nothing. They also picked up that my PDC was loose (this confused me a lot). I went to them and spoke to the manager of the people fixing the cars, let him hear the noise I was talking about and he told me, Oh, that is a piece of cake. I can fix that easy.” This I couldn’t understand as he was the first person who was called to look at the car the first time it went to them. Now, this is the third time in Sandton Auto. The car was booked in for about 3 days now.The car went in, the system was changed, cables we replaced (now this feels like a second hand car) and everything else that could lead to this kind of problem was looked at by different BMW specialists. So more problems came out: 1. The speakers were damaged. I can’t even listen to proper music without the speaker kicking or vibrating or squeaking. 2. The car is vibrating now (and they did pick this up and said they will look at it). 3. I told them that the car sometimes doesn’t start, it just keeps quiet for a while. And this was looked at. Again, I had to leave my car there till the morning so that they can try and start it in the morning for testing (no loan car). 4. The brake pad’s noise is back (and the car was just serviced).5. The noise is worse than ever.I spoke to one of the employees there. She told me that this is a problem that they are experiencing in all BMWs. And she told me that BMW SA is aware of this problem. Most of the 320 I have this problem and there was a call out by BMW SA to change the fan belt to something else (can’t remember what). And she even told me about her own experience as she was at the robot and she heard this car (BMW) parked next to her with the same loud noise. So after that time I was told that they have to order a new fan for my car and change the entire fan system. This one was a masterpiece. I was asked where I bought the car by someone who was helping me there. I told them that I bought the car there by them and according to me the car was brand new. The reason why he asked this was because the car didn’t look like it was new and the PDC was not a BMW PDC. Wow - that’s what I said. I just said, “Wow.”This was a shock and I am asking myself lots of questions: 1. Could this be an old BMW car? 2. Is it possible that someone sold me a car that was a second hand? 3. Is it possible that this BMW car with these kinds of problems could be a demo or something?Really looking at it: is this possible? So right now I am still waiting for a call (which I don’t think I will get as it’s been 2 weeks already) for the fan and an explanation on the PDC. And right now the PDC is faulty for real. It beeps when you are too close to something. I really don’t know what to do in this situation. I don’t feel like I am driving a new car at all. As I travel a lot, I’m afraid that my car will soon be in 100,000 km where I won’t have the privilege of just taking the car in. I don’t have time to leave my car with the dealer anymore as I have proven that this problem cannot be fixed. I am tired of complaining and being stranded in terms of transport and worrying if this beautiful BMW 320 M Sport car cannot just stop in the middle of the road. Can someone out there help me, please?

BMW X1 is a wonderful auto. But lease is expensive and living in NYC means that use is limited. This is because of traffic congestion, crazy bike riders and poor driving habits of many motorists. Insurance cost is also too high as is parking. So not economically feasible for such a high priced vehicle. But I love it. Next time may buy Subaru or use on demand car rental services by BMW/Mercedes if they develop here in NYC.

This is regarding my 16 months old BMW 5 series, RJ 14 CF 0999. As you can read the previous mails, I have been raising the concern for the quality of tyres since May 2018. That is within 4 months of purchase of a brand new 5 Series, luxury line BMW. The tyres installed in the car were Pirelli, and after 3rd incident of car tyre bursting, we took the matter to our nearest and purchase dealership, SANGHI MOTORS in January. We waited for the Sales Representative, Mr Ankit ** over there as he held the car between 24 December to 22 January, roughly for a period of 1 month for inspection and other undisclosed reasons. Finally when enough mails were ignored, I had to purchase an MRF tyre from the MRF dealer shop.Meanwhile on 17th January we renewed the insurance for Depreciation shield and Tyre and BMW secure. In March 2019, the front side car tyre bursted on the highway again leaving us, the owners, yet again stranded on the Highway for the 3rd time since the purchase. Again dusting off all the responsibilities, BMW Service executives maintained that the car was being driven in wrong conditions. Now despite taking all the necessary covers and insurances, I am unable to experience a satisfactory experience with BMW. My family personally own cars Jaguar XJL, Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5, Audi A6, Range Rover Evoque, Mercedes ML 250, amongst our elite cars in our firm, M/s Gulshan Rai Jain II. Never have I experienced such substandard quality that the LIFE THREATENING conditions happen in these cars. The Pirelli tyres have been depreciated at 50% and 25%. Due to the bursting of substandard tyres the rims were also bent. BMW Sanghi Motors have depreciated the Rims at 20% and comfortably charged me that as well.SUMMING UP. I am unable to understand why I am liable to pay for 4 substandard tyres and for 2 rims as well, when the car has not even completed 18,000 kms. If the tyre is substandard and is prone to bursting then the car will come on rims. And if the rims are also substandard, then the company should take action. Moreover if 4 isolated incidents of BURSTING OF CAR TYRES have happened and BMW SANGHI CLASSIC MAINTAINS THAT CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN IN WRONG CONDITIONS. If BMW seriously believes that 4 times car tyre has been bursted due to driving conditions THEN I AM NOT AFRAID TO HIGHLIGHT THIS MATTER TO PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE TO BE JUDGED. I dont want to blame with insurance company, so please dont direct me towards them as they have no role in providing me substandard material in the first place.

I purchased a brand new 2007 BMW 328I in October of 2006. After 6 years of owning that car, I am completely swearing off of BMW for life. Most recently, the steering lock on the car malfunctioned. A few months back, it was an engine overheating problem that caused my engine to completely lose all power in the middle of a busy intersection. Over the years, there were countless incidences of the vehicle losing power. Put all that together with a ride that is hardly ever smooth, lots of jerkiness and delays in acceleration. I contacted BMW to complain about the most recent issue - not because the issue itself, but because of my level of dissatisfaction that a brand as reputable and as costly as BMW would present me with this many issues on a 6-year old car. It pains me to have to say goodbye to a car that is as attractive as the BMW model, but I refuse to spend my hard-earned money with a dishonorable company on a car that under-performs.

https://www.consumeraffairs.com/news/water-in-the-trunk-causes-problems-for-bmw-owners-and-bmw-020717.html. I drive a 2011 BMW 535i. The car shut down in the middle of an intersection. Several inches of water was found in a trunk compartment and the electronic circuitry found in the truck now needs to be replaced. I googled the symptoms and found a class action lawsuit settlement covering this issue for years 2004-2010 but not my 2011. I contacted the dealer who sent me to BMW customer relations only to be told sorry, but you are not covered. I am not sure what to do now, but I do know I will never purchase another BMW. After reading through the majority of complaints here, Ive come to the conclusion that it is either the failure of the consumer to research the product carefully or expectations that are unrealistic and do not disclose the full story. For those that have had a bad sales experience, it is a failure of the dealership employing sales people that do not know their product and over promising and under delivering. If you buy a used car especially over 85k, as I read regarding the X5, expect it to have mechanical failures with some parts that require maintenance, i.e. cooling system parts such as t-stats and water pumps. Modern cars that are built by teams of suppliers are all prone to failures of suspension parts, bushings, window regulators, etc. and is an unfortunate result of the economies of building a car, any car. Buying a car because you thought it was prestigious, well, thats just an expectation residing in stupidity. BMW have never stated their x products are true off roaders (look at the wheels and tire profiles!). If you want that, buy a jeep or LandRover or LandCruiser. Navigation systems, blame the software guys (probably Navteq). They provide the disks for everyone in the industry. The car you purchased CPO was state of the art at the time and has evolved quite quickly. All of you expecting a car that is bare bones, be aware that most cars today have ecu/telematics units with more computing power than a Saturn V rocket (that took the Apollo astronauts to the moon). The trans guy? You needed a new clutch probably because you continued to drive the car after the trans light came on in which you probably needed a trans shift solenoid (approx $200). I am on my third car and have been fortunate to own many performance marques, all of which have had their share of issues. For the woman that claimed she was dismissed because car was out of warranty, what do you expect? What do you not understand? Out of warranty is out of warranty. You didnt complain if they fixed stuff at their cost within the warranty. Now, its your turn to incur cost. Cars arent cost free to maintain. You bought a car. A product. Thats it! You didnt do anything to qualify you for winning the Nobel prize so why should your expectation be that they fix your problem? Should they fix everyone elses car on the road thats out of warranty? For the guy with the motor mount issue, your car was probably in an accident. I have seen CPOD cars sold without disclosure of accidents by a major luxury japanese manufacturer and thats not the fault of the marque but the dealerships shoddy and shady selling practices. Conclusion, educate yourself if you buy anything. And stop with blame or false expectations that youre owed something. Car manufacturers step up to the plate to cover you either warranty or goodwill when analytics show there is a problem.

I have truly enjoyed the 2014 BMW convertible. It is just fun to drive. I often get told how nice it is. The take off is fast and the controls on the wheel make it less distracting to answer phone or navigate the radio. The overall look is very attractive. I am very short and the seats fit me perfectly. They allow a large range of positions so it also helps my pain from a cancer removal. By the way, the truck release on the key remote drives me nuts. Its like it has a combination of buttons to hit. The car also has a very small trunk so I am not able to purchase larger items.

My wife and I were driving when our car just died on the highway which is a 2011 bmw 335i coupe with 94.*** miles that she recently bought used. I called the Bmw of Portland. They said to come over and bring the car because I have warranty, they said which expires on the 30th of this Month, I was surprised but at the same time happy. We got the car in the shop, they gave us a rental. After a few days we received a phone call saying they cannot detect the issue because the battery is dead and its not original equipment. Two months prior, we replaced the battery at specialized Bmw shop, the battery was programmed and registered like it supposed to. So now bmw wants $500 for a new battery so they can test drive the car and duplicate the problem, but the funny thing is they said they charged it overnight and it fired up but died after an hour. So I told him obviously there is something draining the battery and he said nope its just the battery isnt original equipment. So I called a different bmw dealership because they refused to change the air filter and oil change while you can see that the air filter is super dirty. The main technician guy is scandalous and lazy. Spark notes car lost complete power and when I mean complete its out like nothing works at all. Prior a week before a car started to have longer cranks but it would always start. There is a recall for the positive battery cable but when I type my vin in it says I dont have a recall. I dont know what to do.

I purchased a 2013 X5 on 5/22/13 and it has been in the car shop over 2.5 months. I am beyond frustrated in dealing with the dealership and BMW North America. Ive gone in for rattling noises that took them 2 times to fix and now my module that holds the lights, Bluetooth, SOS button, etc. will not work. This is the 3rd time in the shop for the module issue, BMW has switched out the module twice, and has rewired it twice but they still do now know what is causing the issue. They have had expert technicians that came out and conference Germany but no one knows why it sometimes work and sometimes doesnt work. All I am asking for is for BMW to give me a fair trade for the car but they are not willing to so. The reason being that this is not a safety issue. How do I know it wont be a safety issue in the long run?

I purchased a used 2005 BMW 525i almost two years ago and it had 52,000 miles on it. Thank goodness I decided to purchase an extended warranty through my lender because at 75,000 miles or so, my transmission started acting up. This vehicle has not been neglected and has been taken good care of. However, I had transmission fault messages on my computer, so I took it in. Turns out that my transmission needed to be replaced. After my $7,000 transmission was put in, I still had problems. They reprogrammed the vehicle to try and fix the problem, and Im still having problems. Its also really slow on take off and it shifts from 2nd to 3rd really hard. And when I slow down, it shifts really hard from 2nd to 1st. All in all, my warranty company has paid out over $10,000 in repairs over the past two years, almost half of what I paid for the vehicle. That is just ridiculous. Ive read so many peoples horror stories about their BMWs transmissions failing and I just wanted to share my story too. I know that BMW is not taking responsibility for any of their vehicles so I felt like I should share. The more people that come forward, the better. Maybe one day BMW will own up to producing some rotten transmissions in their vehicles. All I can say is thank goodness for warranties. But its not about that. Its about your car, your BMW that you love so much, being in service for a month, and having issue after issue. Its frustrating and BMW needs to to tighten up their products.

Bought a 2020 M340i xdrive BMW. The proximity feature of the Idrive have been an issue from the day I picked up the vehicle. On the way home from the dealership the doors would not open using the door handles. Had to use the key fob. On day two I called the BMW genius. He had me reboot the Idrive. This fixed the problem for a short time. The way it stands now, we never know when its going to work. It worked for a couple days recently, only to stop working for the last 2 days. I took it to the dealer when it was not working. When I got to the dealership, it started working when I arrived at the dealership. They checked for error codes. They said there may be issues with the antenna based on the error codes. The order is in for a new antenna. This was on 10/19/2020. Still have not heard anything from the dealership. It is now 10/27/2020. I dont know where the part is coming from, but I had hoped it would be here by now, and I could see if this fixes the problem. Hoping for the best, but I fear this going to be an issue as long as own the vehicle.

Total bill: over $5300. First, they had my car for close to six weeks. I had a problem with the computer, 4-wheel drive sensor, maintenance for 65000 miles, and key switch install. Second, I asked for the oil to be changed and 65000 mile tune-up. When I got it back my computer said that it had not been changed and it was a quart low. Third, I have dents and scratches on the car that did not exist prior. Fourth, the steering wheel now makes an annoying sound when you turn the wheel. Fifth, the heat knob on the dash was broken. It did not exist prior. Sixth, they turned off the ability to update the system through the i-drive. Seventh, the 4-wheel drive sensor still comes on.Eight, I was charged hours of research--shouldnt they already be a BMW expert? Ninth, they lied and said I could be not reached was the cause of the delay(s). Tenth, I asked for the used parts they supposedly changed and they said they were not available. We didnt think youd want them. Im thinking of filing suit, but dont know an attorney or group that would help. Any suggestions would be helpful even if you tell me Im wasting my time. I purchased a 2009 BMW 238i and on Sep 30 2011, I took it to get an oil change. I dropped it off, got a loner, and went to work. Before I dropped it off that morning, the car ran great, it had no ticking, no engine lights nor loss of power. I hadnt heard from BMW so I called them, they said that they had talked to BMW NA and I need to agree to them removing my valve cover, at my expense of $700. I said that I only wanted an oil change. He told me they terminated my warranty. My warranty was for 4years/50,000 miles, it had not expired. I was very upset and made multiple attempts to call BMW NA and the supervisor told me that they would have to go with what the service center said and there was no one else to talk to. Disappointed, I picked my car up.The check engine light came on and while I was on the highway, the car made some loud ticking noises and the car seemed to be experiencing some power loss, in the mist of high traffic. I was in the middle lane when it started, and I immediately got over to get off the highway. And as I pulled off the highway, the car suddenly shut off (no power). I barely made it off the road. It just shut off. I had to call for a tow. That weekend, the car cranked up and it seemed to be nothing wrong. I took it around the block to see if it was okay. The ticking returned and the car shut off again and I had to coast it off the road onto church grounds and call a tow truck again. And now it will not crank at all. This is my only car and I have to rent a car. I did some research online and found several recalls, for example: BMW High-Pressure Fuel Pump Voluntary Emissions Recall and Voluntary Emissions and Safety Recalls, and tons of complaints about safety and how BMW terminates a lot of peoples warranties prior to their expiration date. BMW seems to be putting all of our lives at risk and terminating warranties at will.

The dealership is telling me that they are trying to find a way to replace the sensor under the passenger seat but BMW of North America is telling me that they can’t duplicate they issue. I can’t have a passenger or my wife in my car due to the seat belt safety issue. I told BMW USA that I will be holding them responsible for any safety issue to someone’s life due to the seat belt issue that BMW USA is not fixing and their reply was “We can’t do anything about it.”The Car is vibrating at 40MPH. BMW found Irregular tire wear on the front tires.. But I have a full warranty on all tires with BMW that I have purchased since I bought this vehicle from BMW, the warranty is based on all the road hazards and the cause of the vibration is road hazards and BMW is not replacing the tires. I have found someone else is insurance and registration in my car, someone from the Critz BMW dealership was driving my vehicle for private use since I saw the change in mileage and evidence of someone’s insurance and registration information.Engine makes big noise at the start after parked for 8 hrs or more. The backup camera is stop working sometimes and the navigation is loading slowly. It’s been six months or more that I am in contact with BMW of North America and the customer service department at BMW of North America along with their managements are ignoring the whole situation and are holding my vehicle hostage at the Critz BMW in Savannah, GA 31401 since FEB 12/2015 until the Manufacturer warranty expires in some 40 days. BMW of North America is telling me that they can’t duplicate the issue and they can’t fix it but not sure why they are holding my vehicle with them. They give me a longer vehicle with an expired Tag which I received 5 tickets so far but Critz BMW told me that they will be paying for it but I have to deal with all the frustrations. I reached out to BBB and at first they accept my case but later denied it after they contacted BMW of North America. The representative from BMW of North America told me over the phone in a sarcastic way that “Your case is denied from BBB and you have no case against us.” I contacted State of Georgia Governor’s office but no reply from them and I have also reached out to the Department of Highway safety for the seatbelt safety issue and no reply from them as will. I searched for an attorney to file a Georgia Lemon law case for me but attorneys told me that I have no case since my vehicle have 36500 Miles on it even though it’s still under full manufacturer warranty.

We purchased a CPO X50i from BMW about 14 months ago. Out of the 14 months, the vehicle has spent about 9 months in the dealership getting repaired. We’ve dealt with the typical drivetrain malfunction issues, which seems BMW techs aren’t well trained on how to fix. Each time that the vehicle would be picked up from service, within the day the same or new issue would occur. We even tried going to a different BMW dealership to see if we had better luck and my service advisor advised that I get rid of the car and there wasn’t anything else they can do. I finally contacted BMW North America and opened up a PUMA case. They claim to give me an update every week, yet I never get any updates. Bring the vehicle is t financed through BMW financial, we’ve been stuck having to make payments for a vehicle that isn’t in any operating conditions. In fact, twice the vehicle had heavy smoke and started to heat up, where the smoke was going into the cabin. I was driving with my son, who was scared for his life as we thought the vehicle was about to catch on fire. Being we were driving on the highway, it would be some time till I could pull over to safety. BMW NA asked us for our financials and contract for the vehicle purchase, but nothing has been done. We have officially been consistently in a loaner for over 5 months. I’m sick of it, it’s not fair to us, yet we have to pay the price. We have a 2016 Mercedes S550 and it’s our 3rd one, and no issues. We also had a 2012 BMW 750 and similar issues. I’m giving BMW 2 weeks to make this right.

I own a 2007 335i, which I purchased from BMW dealer, and always had it serviced by a BMW dealer. Around 35,000 miles I began having repeated problems with oil leaks, the service engine light would constantly come on and the engine wasnt performing properly. I was told that the codes just needed to be reset and that the problems were fixed. A few days later the check service engine light came on again. I went back to the dealership and was told it was the code for the fuel pump plausibility and all they had to do was to reset it with the software and it would be fine.A week later the same thing happened. This time around I asked them to take a look at the issue. I once again was told that the problem was fixed and that the codes just needed to be reset. The check engine light would come on regularly and I was always told the same thing - that it was due to the software update but the car had no issues.I took my car in to the dealership right before 50,000 miles and before the warranty expired to have an oil change and at that time I was told that the car had an oil leak and the fuel pump had to be replaced. They replaced it and reset the codes once again. I explained the car was not driving properly, as it would jolt and it wouldnt accelerate. The service rep said he would check on that and make the necessary repairs. I left the dealership and on my way home the service engine light came on once again. I went back to the dealership and was told they needed to reset the codes again.A few months later, I noticed the car was leaking oil and the engine was not running properly. The service engine light was also back on. I took it to the dealership and was told it was the fuel pump, and there was a problem with the turbochargers and engine. I was told it would not be covered under the warranty as the warranty had just expired. I had them do them complete the repairs as it was necessary. In less than 24 months, Ive had to have the fuel pump and oil gaskets replaced three times. The car went into limp mode as I was driving on a busy intersection and just turned off in the middle of traffic, putting my life as well as other drivers lives in danger. I was struck from behind by a van because the driver didnt anticipate me just stopping without warning. This a huge safety issue and BMW needs to be held accountable for withholding this information from customers. I had to have my car towed to the dealership and they refuse to warranty the defective items.I called BMW North America and spoke Leah in Customer Affairs and she informed me that it was up to the dealership if they wanted to apply the warranty or not. She said it is not up to the corporate office to make those decisions. I also demanded a copy of all my service maintenance records from the BMW dealership where I had the car serviced and they refused to provide them to me.I asked to speak to a supervisor and was transferred to Ross at BMW corporate office. I told him I wanted a copy of all my maintenance records from the SM BMW dealership emailed to me, as I couldnt go there in person but needed to the records to show proof that I had the fuel pump repaired numerous times. He told me he called over to the dealership and requested the records but they refused to email them to me and proceeded to say that they dont have to give me those records.I was beyond appalled that I would be treated that way, after all I had been through given they sold me a product with a manufacturers defect. I explained that the dealership was charging me over $5,500 for the fuel pump and oil gasket repair, yet I had already paid over $8,000 to have it repaired numerous times. The dealership refused to warranty the defective items. I am beyond disgusted with their lies, fraudulent practices and their sheer incompetence. Ive decided to retain legal counsel at this point.

I thought it would be a good test to see how good the place was too since I would be taking it in to the dealership the next time. The service place reset the indicator lights on my BMW so that I wouldnt get the incessant notification - I thought was nice of them to do that. My mistake. I took my vehicle in after 50,000 miles to get it serviced and BMW said they couldnt perform most of the major 45,000 and 50,000 mile maintenance because the service light wasnt on. I tried to escalate by calling Customer Relations, but they pushed it back to the Dealership and the area managers. The area managers said since I hadnt been in to a dealership for over a year, it showed that I didnt have any brand loyalty.Keep in mind the closest BMW dealership to me is about 45 minutes away - so not a quick drop off. Also, keep in mind I went the past two years and realized they would only perform maintenance on my vehicle once a year anyway - anything earlier and I wasnt qualified for any service. Seriously? How much does it cost to change spark plugs on my car anyway?!?! Theyve certainly lost a customer in me. I was going to have other service completed ($800+) but after this treatment, Ill take my chances and go to a local place instead.Ill give them credit that they did perform some of the other warranty covered items (like replacing gaskets, etc.), but it makes me angry and frustrated that they wont perform the regularly scheduled maintenance items due to me not having brand loyalty, especially when Ive always gone to BMW except for one time. And something as minor as not changing spark plugs has decidedly made me never to buy BMW again. I love the way the cars drive, but the joy of driving it doesnt compensate for the poor treatment I get as a customer. I should have listened to everyone else who said BMW doesnt care about their customers.

Bought used BMW 545i with Extended Warranty. Oil leak fix was contingent of sale. Told it was fixed then kept seeing leak. Then two weeks after having car back the transmission would not go into reverse also asked that the oil leak be addressed AGAIN. Was told by first dealer that the transmission had low volt error cause by bad battery and needed to be replaced ($300 not covered by warranty). Kept calling to get car back and was told they did not know when they would get to it. After 1 week of them having car and only the battery being replaced, had transferred to another dealership to actually have someone work on it. After the new dealership got the engine apart to find leak they kept finding things wrong which had to be ordered and in the end they had the car an additional two weeks. Was in for service 3 of 5 weeks I owned the car. When I got car back the Idrive (radio) did not function. Was told that it was not functioning when it arrived, later found out that the first dealer corrupted the program (killed the radio) when they reprogrammed for the new battery. First dealer would not pay to replace the battery. After getting car back without radio discovered a coolant leak. OF COURSE not covered by warranty, $1500. Wife got a flat and took to replace at Dealership. When we got the car back, the Tire Pressure warning was on still. Dealer said tire pressure is reset through IDRIVE (radio) so they could not reset it because the IDRIVE was broken. Later the transmission AGAIN stopped going into reverse, this time BMW did cover it. Started seeing fluid leaking from transmission. Later found out from Independent repair shop the battery was not the cause of transmission fault, nor the fix that BMW did. The Hard Plastic transmission pan had a micro crack which would leak slowly and then cause the transmission, after about 2 weeks, to be too low to operate. AGAIN fix and not covered by warranty.

I bought 2013 ActiveHybrid 3 from Patrick BMW at 15000 miles. (Certified Car), this car has been in and out of dealership for multiple issues, electrical and body. For some reason they are not able to fix the car. It is quite frustrating that both dealership and BMW North America is not willing to take up the responsibility for manufacturing the faulty vehicle and selling the faulty vehicle. The resolution that the BMW North America offered for a vehicle worth over US $30000 driven only 15000 miles that stayed in dealership (in and out) was only $1000 and thats it. I totally feel cheated and robbed in daylight by Patrick BMW and BMW North America. My suggestion: Do not BUY BMW you feel or ULTIMATE FOOLING MACHINE.

BMW Financial involuntarily repossessed my BMW after an auto accident. I was unable to walk and notify BMW of the situation as the car was in their chosen shop for repair or payoff. Insurance repaired after 2 months. I notified BMW that the car was repaired and I owed 2 payments, which I was paying now that I could walk. They said after my $20,000.00 repair, they were in repo status. I said no and that the car is back in for repair and Im on my way to pay. I was at Western Union with a witness to pay two payments. The girl at BMW was rude and said theres nothing she could do. The repo showed up in 30 minutes at BMW repair shop and took my car before I arrived. I never heard from anyone of this. I called on my way to repair shop and they said my car was taken and that was that. No authorization, no police involvement. The car could be stolen, for all I know. Then they billed me $12,000.00. I had 3 months left on lease and a $20,000.00 beautiful car repair they made out and ruined my credit. I have had 4 BMWs and they will never see my business again!

I recently submitted a survey of my recent visit to the local BMW dealership (Schafer BMW of Wilmington, NC). I stated that I had taken my vehicle (2011 X3) in for a problem with noise coming from the passenger side at speeds of 45-50 MPH. The dealership stated that they too heard the noise and it was due to the tires. With 30K miles on the tires and their recommendation, I purchased 4 new tires, had them balanced and a front end alignment. Two weeks later I noticed the same noise coming from the same location. I returned my vehicle to the same dealership and again stated that the same noise was coming from the same location even after purchasing 4 new tires with an out of pocket of expense of $850 for tires, mounting, balancing and front end alignment. The dealership now states the noise is coming from the exhaust and not the tires. The resolution is still pending and BMW Customer Relations and Assistance states that they cannot reimburse me for the tires or accept responsibility of the dealerships misdiagnosis. Help!

I have purchased 3 consecutive BMWs. I love the brand. Ive had my most recent vehicle for 3 months, a 535i, and its a great car. I noticed that one of my door handle trim pieces was missing and the other was loose. I looked for damage and there wasnt any. I went to the dealer and they were very helpful and accommodating. They took pictures, took notice of there not being any damage, and they said they would contact BMW on my behalf. A few days later the dealer called me to let me know that BMW would not offer assistance. The resolution they suggested is that I purchase new door handles plus the cost of programming comfort access because the trim pieces are not sold separately. ($500+ Per Handle.)After, I have spoken to BMW independent of the dealer and they are asking for more pictures. I dont understand this since they already have them. I conclude that the trim pieces have fallen off due to a problem with the adhesive not performing to specs (The trim piece itself is made of plastic with tape strip on the inner side). I am very disappointed that as a loyal customer, I would be dismissed in this fashion. I just spent over $60k for this vehicle.

I bought a BRAND new BMW 530 XDrive last May 2019. This June 2019 I got a flat tire. I called roadside assistance for the first time and arranged a pick up. It took over 3 hours (FIRST sign they dont care) but they finally got a tow truck to me. The Companys name was T & T towing based in Waldorf. The dealership they were supposed to take my car to was less than 30 minutes up the road. SO after an hour has passed and no update. I called T&T towing to see the status of my vehicle. I was then informed NOBODY WANTS YOUR CAR, WE WILL DROP IT OFF WHEN WE DROP IT OFF. I look on my BMW app and see my car is heading to Waldorf and not BMW of Silver Spring as requested. I contact BMW RSA to let them know how I am being spoken to and that I would like my vehicle returned. I went to Google and wrote a review about the towing company.10 minutes later BMW RSA calls me back and say that T & T towing is refusing to return my vehicle because of my review. (Second sign they dont care) why would you call me. I don’t know them. YOU (BMW) chose them to tow my car. So if you are saying they won’t return it then my car is stolen at this point. Another Hour goes by no car. I now get the police involved and T & T towing decides to bring back my car. It is now 12am the next day.I called BMW to schedule a pickup for the next morning for 7:30-8am so they can get it because I go to work. I called the next morning at 8 only to be informed NO Tow truck was scheduled (Third sign they dont care). I call them and rearrange and afternoon pickup after 5. I get car tow by Past and Present Towing and Recovery. I go pick up my car and I now have a BIG gash missing from my bumper. I call and file a claim on June 5th 2019.First BMW denied my claim saying there is no record they towed my vehicle a second time. Then after I got RSA to send report because it seems customer service and RSA are on different networks and it shows they towed it twice. I am on month 3 and they STILL havent made a decision on my vehicle. I am going to sell this car and get an Audi or Mercedes. No reason to spend this much and they treat you like this.

Sterling BMW Newport Beach - This dealership is dishonest and misleading. First time, I went there to value my trade-in but we were still a few thousand dollars apart so I left. I called them back a couple of days later because I really liked the car and I agreed to pay $3,000 more than my original budget and they agreed and told me to go back there and get my new car. Once I got back there, the managers ** and ** decided that they wanted even more money than what we agreed on the phone and tried to sell me a car two years older! This dealership has proof to be dishonest! If you are a woman, do not go there, they will take advantage of you in any possible way.

If I take my foot off of the brake without stepping on the gas, it will jerk again for a few seconds until it get a little speed. I say slow stop above because it does not jerk when I come to a faster stop. I usually drive in Comfort+ mode with the auto Start Stop engine engine turned off. I have taken the car in several times now and still have the problem, and they seem to not have a clue what could be causing this. Never had this issue with any other car I have ever driven! Never even drove that car, but had it beyond my warranty, so I had to spend $2500 replacing spark plugs and some engine coils. My x3 have constant tire pressure errors! Bought the tire and wheel warranty straight from the dealership. The sales guy told me that if anything goes wrong with my wheel or if theres a scratch on the wheel they will replace it free of charge. Man was I told a lie. BMW refuses to replace my wheel. I have had my BMW for 3 years and it was time to turn in my lease. Autovin had come to my house and inspected the car - they reported no problems at all to me. Called BMW FS to confirm that everything was fine a few days later and was informed that everything was good to go and I could turn in the car. I return the car a few days later to BMW Freehold & that evening I called BMW FS to inform them I dropped off the car and that I had fulfilled all responsibility on my end including paying for mileage overages. At that time, the representative advised I had to pay $300 for a tire that was 3 on the tread since they allow 4 and above. This was complete news to me & I called spoke to manager Asha ** who was the least bit helpful and all she could say was, Sorry, we cannot do anything else. I spoke to another supervisor Erin ** who also had no authority to make any changes & said this is how it is. It would have been nice to been informed of any wear on the tire as I could have replaced it myself and saved $200. I am about to get a new BMW in two weeks but definitely will not get that anymore. Word to the wise - DO NOT LEASE FROM BMW, they will screw you at the end and wont tell you about it until later when you are helpless.

Purchased a 2005 BMW X3 in 2009 with 20K miles on it, purchased as a BMW Certified with the full 100K (or 6 year) warranty. At some point around 40K miles, I noticed the anti-freeze overflow tank had oil mixed in it. I took it to BMW and was given a tongue lashing for allowing Valvoline to change my oil. Not only did they state Valvoline put oil in the anti-freeze reservoir, they gave me a letter and advised me to take legal action. Instead, I opted to pay BMW $1200 to total flush the entire system of oil. A few months later the water pump went out (under warranty) and I was advised once again I had oil in my anti-freeze. Once again I was fooled by the BMW liars as they told me it was probably just left over from the previous incident. Finally while I was driving one day the engine started to run hot, being that I work literally 2 blocks from BMW I drove the car over to be checked out. By this time the car had run out of its BMW warranty, and lo and behold they said I had oil in the anti-freeze and that I would now need to pay them $4K to replace the head as the thought it was cracked. Now they couldnt really tell me that would fix the car and the only other option they gave me was to replace the engine $6K.I have all of the paper trails, I called BMW USA, I tried to get the people at Swope BMW Louisville to work with me but they would not. At the end of the day, nobody could ever tell me how I was getting oil in the antifreeze....a cracked head and/or blown head gasket would result in antifreeze in the oil, what I had was exactly opposite. Rolling the dice, I took the car to a very reputable shop in Louisville and paid the $2500 to replace the head gasket...a repair which did not work.I have owned 2 new BMWs. I will never, ever, ever even look at another one of these cars. The dealers are under a huge amount of duress and will not do whats right for the consumer. My warranty was worth nothing as they (BMW) milked it out until my car was no longer covered before telling me the engine was shot. Since then I have leased a 2013 Mazda CX5 AWD GT for my wife, and purchased a 2013 Honda Civic Ex for my son. I have plenty of money to spend, and will never spend another dime on these pieces of human excrement who represent BMW.

Recently purchased a 2016 BMW 228i. The vehicle was equipped with Driver Assistance Package that included Park Distance Control. A safety feature that warns the driver when approaching objects with sensors located both front and rear of the vehicle. A very useful feature to avoiding hitting objects and causing damage to the vehicle so I thought. The rear sensors are automatically activated ANYTIME when placing the vehicle in reverse and backing up. The front sensors are automatically activated when placing the car in REVERSE when first starting the PARKED vehicle BUT do not activate if placed in DRIVE. What good does having the front sensors on when going backwards and not on when going forward? Also, the front sensors automatically turn off after the car is in motion. You must manually activate the front sensors by pushing the button located near the gear shift lever. I did not know this. By forgetting to do this will not warn you of distance of an object in front of you to avoid an accident. In layman terms you forgot to turn on the front sensors beforehand causing you to hit an object and damaging the vehicle. In my case, I would have avoided hitting the curb causing damage underneath the front spoiler because I failed to activate the front sensors that I had no knowledge of at the time. BMW has a representative called a BMW Genius who teaches the new owner every aspects of the vehicle and the functionality of the vehicle. This would have been very useful had I been educated but unfortunately I was not.I contacted BMW customer service as well as the BMW Genius to advise them of the operation of the Park Distance Control and had the front sensors been activated I would have avoided causing an estimated repair bill of $600 to $700 dollars. What good is it if its not on? Should have I known that I was going to hit the curb and to activate the front sensors? Why do I not have to activate the rear sensors? The BMW representative is going to file a Formal Complaint on my behalf and thanked me for informing them of the situation and told me to have a pleasant day.

I looked and my mouth dropped right away. I went back to BMW. My back bumper was smashed and my light was broken. I was gone not even 10 minutes. The manager at BMW was very rude and nasty telling me this did not happen there. And I was responsible to cover the damage. Someone at BMW while in their possession crashed my car. Backed it in and knew I would get in and drive off. I took my car in for internal problems nothing having to do with the body. I did know I had to do a 360. My main concern was that my car was running properly. Not that my car would be smashed. How does that happen? Then for the manager to be so rude and mean to me blaming me like I did that damage. As he walks in he says to me “looks like someone is going to need a new bumper! That is no way to treat nor talk to a customer who just spent money and then having her car damaged from someone at BMW. Unacceptable. No one should have to go through this. Horrible.

We purchased a 2010 BMW 535i station wagon from Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas 4 years ago. We even paid for extended warranty to 100k miles. The engine broke down on 89k miles. Contacted BMW North America AND Bob Smith to repair, no one takes responsibility to help us. After the car had to towed to Bob Smith for diagnosed (it was already diagnosed elsewhere to determined the engine went bad already) they told us it will cost over $1600 to diagnosed. Then they told us it will cost us over $20,000 to replace the engine. Yes, you read it correctly... $20,000 NOT $2,000.Bad customer service when it comes to warranty. Only if we could beg the public not to purchase BMW, we would. If youre thinking of owning one, please think twice before you do it. BMW will give you the best service when everything is going well, but the minute something is seriously wrong with the car they will show their true color. So sad & extremely disappointed with the way BMW handled the whole situation. Weve owned 4 BMW but we are going a different direction now. Unfortunately we still have another BMW 328i, cant wait to just get rid of it as well. Sighed.

I own a BMW X3 in the Philippines that is 5 years old, has been owned by me from new, always serviced by BMW and has 30k km on the clock. Recently the warning lights went on and it made a loud engine noise. BMW checked it over and told me that the transfer case needed replacement and that it would cost 200,000 pesos (USD 4,500). I checked on the internet about the transfer case and discovered that this was a common fault, that actually related to a plastic gear in the actuator. It seemed that the plastic gear problem was so common that a replacement was made and sold on Amazon.com. I bought the plastic gear for USD 50 and replaced the obviously worn gear in the actuator, perfect solution, no further problem. I tried to contact BMW in Munich because it seemed that BMW Philippines were being less than customer oriented. I assumed that BMW would be upset at such a bizarre situation. I was continuously referred back to Singapore, the regional headquarters, who constantly referred me back to Autozentrum, the Philippine agent. I finally got a letter from BMW in Singapore who told me it was their policy to only replace units, not parts in units. I tried to explain that this seemed to be disingenuous as the actuator gear was clearly a poor design and that charging USD 4,500 when a USD 50 part was obviously the solution, was penalizing a good customer and seemed to be short sighted. They sent me a curt note saying their policy was clear. My only advice is to buy a Hyundai, Honda, Subaru, Jeep, anything, but never a BMW.

I took my brand new BMW to the dealer for a car wash. It was significantly scratched. The dealer Unilaterally decided it wasn’t them. I called BMW North America and reported the issue. The dealer Downtown BMW of Denver sales manager called me, yelled at me and now I am banned from having my car serviced there altogether. Bmw North America told me they were sorry but there was nothing they can do. Each dealer is owned individually. So now may car has significant damage and I can no longer have it washed as I was promised with my maintenance package.I bought the car at Schomp. I purchased the protectant package which I paid $700 for to find out it wasn’t applied. They are refusing to refund my money even though at this point I can’t have the protectant applied because the car is so damaged. Essentially bmw doesn’t care about their customers. I have owned several cars, and in the modern Era, the E60 535i started off with tons of trouble, along with my X6M. My E85 Z4 was an amazing car, even if it was not a drivers car with the electronic steering, but I loved it. I got the 535i as a daily driver. Water pumps (2), fuel pumps (2), disintegrating chargepipe, multiple injector replacements (2x had all of them replaced), the mystery 30ff error nobody can fix, the seat mat/airbag issue, the wastegate rattle and it would not be a BMW without a leaky valve cover gasket. There was always something wrong. So I bought an X6M a few months ago. Airbag recall, battery recall, injector recall... I have owned E30s, E9, E38, E39, E85 and an E31. Mostly trouble-free cars, then came the turbos and BMWs total inability to make a good engine that does not start causing issues, interiors that look dated and recalls that keep it parked more than I drive it. Even the driving experience has gone to hell.

I love to drive the BMW 640i (plus the look). And people love the look too. Its fun, responsive, fast, gorgeous, awesome driving machine, tight (no rattles or squeaks), super-incredible convertible and eye catching! You feel totally in control when driving this 6 series car. Turning radius is awesome too! Need acceleration? No problem. Ever. Fully loaded this car does almost everything! Cameras all around can show if you are evenly in a parking space! Write addresses on the ceramic dial for navigation. Or talk to the car to get directions or to make a call on the phone. On cruise control, it will slow itself if a car gets too close! One touch and the convertible top opens or closes by itself. Check the car, unlock it, turn on the lights, or even sound the horn from my phone! Or turn on the ventilation in the car from my phone if it is too hot out so the car will be cooler when I get in! And if I need any kind of help - at all - I can contact my “always there” BMW assist! They will answer questions, send directions, give suggestions, talk to me, read to me, anything! Seems like there is nothing that this car isn’t able to do! Cannot imagine a better-looking or driving vehicle!!!

BMW 2011 x535i Premium Problems - I purchased this car new 2 years ago. My car boiled at 12,520 mi. in New Mexico, was towed to Tucson At 2 am for 1.5 hrs. Tucson BMW - requested them to drain and measure oil. They refused! BMW book for owners states: Too little or too much oil can damage engine and/or transmission. BMW doesnt care. In Sept. 2013, got front brakes at Escondido BMW, CA. They refused to change the rotors that were badly rusted and below specs until I returned to the BMW shop after taking it to a German shop to see if they did the work. They didnt. Upon returning, I was able to force them to change the rotors. Since purchasing the BMW, the car hesitates and jerks for about two blocks before driving right. The car emergency parking brake is designed to ruin the transmission if it isnt applied in a certain order. There is a pin in the brake that will pop if not set right and if it breaks off, you need a new transmission! $$$$. The leather is cheap and thin. I am a single retired woman that doesnt drive daily. My seat is worn as if it had 60,000 mi. on it, instead of 29,000! I also paid an extra $1,300 for contour seats, but the ride is so hard, you become a bobble Head with a headache if you arent driving on very smooth highways! My entire rear muffler system arrived totally rusted when brand new. BMW has a 10-yr. Rust warranty, but refuses to honor it! Windshield was defective in the 20,000 mi. range. BMW refused to honor their Windshield warranty also... My cost: $903! The glare from defects blinded me. Navigation went out three times, blank red, then all in German language... Acktune? Attention! Etc. My AM-FM and Sirius also went blank. If they cant replicate it at that moment, they wont fix it and dont care. Navigation works, but also is defective and often tells you the wrong way to turn, so you also have to rely on N, S, W, E. When you buy the car new, they want you to pay hundreds to update your navigation. It does not come updated!!!Gas mileage is not good like they claim. Neither is the twin turbo engine. I was told by a Vista BMW dealer mgr. that I need to add a qt of oil every 2,000 Miles. I dont think that is in the manual either. The oil seals go bad often, claims a BMW mechanic. When BMW was being taken apart by BMW rep at Encinitas BMW, they scratched my rear side bumper! They also did not put the car back together right and frequently called to tell me the car was ready when they had not performed the work, causing multiple trips to dealers and much aggravation and gas.Filed a lemon law in NJ where I bought the car. If I had purchased it in Calif. BMW would have bought the car back; but all they want to give me is $8,000, which is standard for any lemon law complaint in OH and NJ unless the car quits and is a life threat or injury from malfunction is proven. Someone in Munich had my same vin# except for last 5 nos. Their car stopped in the middle of the highway, lost all power and brakes! This happens to some BMW owners of X5s. At the time I purchased the car, I thought I loved it. Now that I own it, and have researched all problems with this model. It states in Car magazines this is the 2nd worst SUV for 2011 and is on the Do not buy list because of all major problems. This car sticker: $63,225. Worth: 0 in safety and reliability and service at BMW! BMW does not honor their warranties! If you file a lemon on BMW, be aware they add code 13 on their confidential Store copy of your invoice. This means the dealer must contact BMW Corp. in NJ., who in turn tells the dealer to do nothing except oil changes and they told me their hands were tied! BMW corporate just did a fabulous remodel for $100 million in New Jersey. It seems nobody can make them honor their worthless warranties! My recommendation: Do not buy this car unless you are a European mechanic. BMW does not tell you to buy a software update program for $325 or your car may totally fail leaving you helpless and frightened when it shuts down. Locks are iffy. Sometimes they work, but they seem easy to break into. Remote battery fails frequently and all BMW does is temp. charge it. BMW can erase all the codes on your car if they dont want you to know what is really wrong.I had German shop run 3 pgs. of codes that were bad on my new car. BMW Ohio kept these records. They were mostly camera errors. If you can find a German shop to run codes on your car, then you will know what is really wrong. BMW will never admit to any failures and paid millions in fines to NHSTA because they refuse to turn in complaints to the national board according to the law in the time frame regulated for the first few years on any BMW! Why are they allowed to get away with breaking the law????? And why cant they be made to Honor all their warranties, which you pay for in the price of the car and is an Incentive to purchase the car? Prestige BMW in NJ also failed to give us the $2,500 holiday credit incentive they promised! And it took two months to get the privacy cover that came with the car new! You be the judge! Please consult Carcomplaints.com; NHTSA 2011 X5 problems and recalls; Recallowl.com for more info on autos. I hope this is helpful to others.

I own a BMW 545i for years. I want to tell the world what a piece of crap this 65,000 $$$ car is. I mean really BMW sure did a number on everybody with this v8 engines. I want to share all my problems with this car with you guys. DME or ECU replacement and programming $ 3300.00. Alternator bracket leak $800.00. Timing cover and valve cover oil leaks $ 1800.00. Water pump replacement $600.00. Check this one out, engine transfer coolant pipe $2000.00 and thats using the bimmer pipe. Thanks to the guys. They invented this wonderful pipe that save me $5000.00. Yeah. BMW want it 7k for this job. AC heater valves $200.00, AC compressor $1050. Im the second owner of this car. I bought it with 40,000 miles. Now the car has 74,000 miles and more problems. Now the car doesnt want to start. It cant keep idle. I think its the throttle body or it could be the DME again-- look guys, Im sharing all of this with you guys cause I see all of this. People that want to buy a use BMW pls dont. Its cheaper to buy a glass of lemonade if you know what I mean. For me I rather died than buy a BMW new or used. Again thats all I have to said about that. BMW should really pay for these lemons that have sold over the years to people. Thanks for reading my frustrations.

I have a 2006 550i with 80,000 miles that I have owned for 1.5 years with CPO warranty that ends next month. The iDrive locks up all the time (dealer cant find a problem; they just reboot), transmission shifts really hard (intermittently) when pulling into my driveway, which is on a grade (dealer cant duplicate a problem), the moon roof wont close (dealer said its not covered under warranty), and the front and rear window moldings disintegrated (dealer said they are not warranted; I replaced for $200); but it rides nice. The dealer owner tells my wife to trade the car in (If I do that, it wont be for another BMW). I bought the car for my wifes birthday (She hates it).I have brought it into the dealers shop countless times (cant fix the vehicles they sell). The warranty will run out (Im stuck with an overpriced **). By the way, I just replaced the battery ($200) and the dealer said they want another $200 to program the battery to the car. ** is going on?

I bought my 323i in 2002 with 50,000 miles. Ive spent more on unscheduled maintenance and breakdowns in each and every year than I ever spent in the entire 17 years I owned my Honda (which racked up 240,000 virtually trouble-free miles, by the way). Now at a paltry 115,000 miles, the BMW transmission has failed and the car is a total loss due to repair cost. Is there no limit to the level of embarrassment and engineering ineptitude BMW NA will endure before they step up and address just a few of their chronic reliability issues?

I currently have a 2008 BMW 335i 4-door sedan, and all of a sudden I am experiencing problems with my car. I currently have 58,000 miles on the car, and 2 months ago, took my car in for routine maintenance, and for an oil change. I was told there was a few recalls on my car, which the most important was, replacing the high pressure fuel pump. I havent experienced problems with the fuel pump, however, I was told by my service adviser, this needed to be taken care of. Needless to say, during that time, I received a class action lawsuit letter in the mail, to be a part of, which was Nyugen vs. BMW in Northern California, and put two and two together that BMW was addressing this issue to take care of the problem. Shortly after my high pressure fuel pump was replaced, I started noticing some leaking in my driveway, and automatically knew it was due to transmission fluid, and read all the issues this series was experiencing with leaking. I spoke to my service adviser at BMW of San Diego, and he said sometimes with the change of the fuel pump, there can be residual leaking caused from oil, and when I stated I thought it was transmission fluid, he said to keep a lookout and call him with any other severe leaking. A few weeks later, during the Christmas holiday weekend, I didnt drive my car for 4 days, and when I pulled out, it seemed that all my transmission fluid had leaked out. The puddle was huge. I immediately called my service adviser to schedule an appointment, and when I went in, my questions were very direct as to this model, on experiencing this issue, and he was very vague with his answers, but did recommend I trade this vehicle in, because repair costs are very expensive for this car outside of warranty. I felt like he wanted to tell me more, but wanted to protect himself and the company. So ultimately, I had the transmission oil pan sealed, which all in all was a $600 out of pocket fee. This was last week, on 1/4/2012.Today, 1/9/2012, 5 days after being serviced, on my way to work, I only drove 4 miles and my car overheated, causing the car to lose power and to be stranded on the side of the road. It started up fine. After waiting a few minutes, I drove about two miles before it happened again, and of course, shut the car off for fear it would blow a gasket, and called a tow truck to tow me back home. Im mortified of the thought of more expenses due to this car. This Thursday, Im most likely going to go back to BMW of San Diego, and find out I owe more money for another issue, this car is known for experiencing. Even though I havent given BMW of San Diego the chance to remedy this situation, I lost all faith in this car, and even afraid to drive out of town due to the fear that more issues will arise, and they definitely need to address this matter. A little more history is, I initially purchased a 2007 BMW 335i in Sacramento CA,and only had it one month, before the turbo blew out and the issues Ive been reading about the fuel pump happened. I turned in the car three times, and BMW took the lemon back, and refinanced me for a newer 2008 model to remedy the situation. Now, Im potentially dealing with the same problem all over again, and it petrifies me. Please help!

TPM Sensor Damaged Again: I bought a 2007 525i BMW a little bit over a year ago, and this is the second time during the last four (4) months that the TPM sensor went bad. I now realize that due to water intrusion in the trunk, it causes for the TPM sensor to get water damaged. By browsing the Internet, I am now aware that this is a common malfunction for the TPM monitoring sensor on the 525i model. I believe that this should be part of a recall by BMW to specifically address this issue that is a common problem due to an engineering defect by putting such an electronic part in the bottom of the trunk when it is prone to get water damaged. The TPM sensor is now defective and needs to be replaced. Please advise how to proceed.

I purchased a used BMW 318 EDS last year, this is a 2010 plate with 50k coming with a full BMW service history. I thought it to be a good buy as its quoted The ultimate drive. Within 5k the clutch had gone (my previous Vauxhall did 150k on the original clutch). However I got it replaced and thought sometimes it happens. Now at 60k the timing chain has snapped! BMW do not want to know anything, not bothered, so what etc. I can honestly say a BMW is not the ultimate drive, its just a complete overpriced brand that provides no customer support for a used car. Apparently this timing chain is a known fault. However the quote by the customer services lady was there is no current campaign against the fault so we dont have to honour it. The repair bill is around 1500, so please be very wary of buying a used BMW as you may end up with a complete dog of a car like I own. I should have bought a Ford or Vauxhall. Ultimate drive… Ultimate money pit.

My 2005 645 CI is as awesome as it is a nightmare. It drives great, it looks great but I have had problems with the convertible top since I bought the vehicle. While driving with the top closed, a warning comes on: convertible top not locked. At this point the convertible top and the rear window cannot be operated, and if the rear window was open at the time that the warning came on, such window is stuck in the open position. At times such warning disappears while I continue driving a few moments or a few miles, at times it disappears after the engine has been shut down, and at times it continues to stay on until the problem is fixed by the dealer. The car has been at the dealer for this reason more than 15 times, the rotation sensors have been changed three times and they have been re-adjusted and/or re-positioned the other times. In 2010, I wrote about such problem to the management of the local dealer, as well as to BMW USA. The malfunction continues to happen, regardless. I just got back the vehicle from the dealer 2 days ago (beginning of August 2012), still for the same reason. I am reaching the point where if the problem re-occurs, I am going to dump my loved/hated car.

I bought a BMW 5 series. I Started having problems with a Misfire and shakes in the wheel and wiper issues along with navigation and AC issues. I reported all these issues before the end of the Manufacturers warranty which would have covered all these repairs. During that time I was told nothing wrong. Brought it back again and they said nothing wrong. Of course after the warranty expires, the first time I brought it back they found the issue. They had me to pay for all these experiments to solve the problems and now in my pocket about $3000. In all this time I stressed that I shouldnt have to pay because its ongoing repairs that should have been fix but never was. They still insisted on my paying for all repairs. That have not stand up to the warranty and did not do anything to my satisfaction. At the moment I am risking my life every moment I am on the highway because when Im switching lanes, I get stuck in slow motion most times and this can cause the car approaching from behind to collide and cause very serious damages or DEATH. BMW does not care even though I stressed these concerns every time. STAY AWAY FROM ALL BMWs!!!

Two weeks ago we had great pleasure in taking BMW Arden to the small claims court. My daughters 18 month old BMW had a faulty wishbone arm. It should have been repaired under warranty but she had to pay the insurance excess of £395. We had a small win as BMW had to pay it back. I know it wasnt much but at the end of the day it was the principle. Here is how it began: BMW Series 1. On 17 September 2017 my daughter Sam stopped at traffic lights to turn right into the Esso garage. When the lights changed, she moved slowly away, at this point the wishbone arm snapped causing her to catch the car in front. A passing mechanic who has his own garage examined the car and said it had issues. The only marks on her car was a small dent and scratch as the photos show. We sent photos to an online mechanic, he said that slight knock would not have caused the wishbone arm to snap. Her insurance company transported the car to their garage in Ashford. A couple of days later BMW asked Sam if they could take it to BMW Arden to undergo repairs as it was still under warranty. When she collected her car a month later, she was shocked when she had to pay her insurance excess of £395.00, she’d been told it was being repaired under warranty. It is apparent that at no time Ageas the insurance company inspected the vehicle. A letter dated 6th March 2018 states “I have reviewed our Audatex report from Arden Maidstone repairers who have not advised in their comments on the engineers report that the drive shaft snapped due to wear and tear or due to being faulty. Had they seen the car then they would have known it was the wishbone arm and not the driveshaft. They also wouldn’t have had to ask BMW what caused it to snap!We wrote and complained to BMW Arden, BMW Customer Services and the Ombudsman. They all said the insurance company carried out the repair so you have to pay. Her authorized repair company in Ashford did not do the repair, BMW Arden did and then invoiced the insurance company for £4550,09. Our mechanic said the cost should have been no more than £500. A solicitor advised me the onus of responsibility lay with Arden BMW, she said the insurance company was just doing their job.On July 6th, 2018 I wrote a final letter to Gary ** the assistant service manager at BMW Arden, His last email said, “The possible cause of the broken wishbone arm was wear and tear.” At the time my daughter’s car was 18 months old with under 7000 on the clock, so how could it have been wear and tear? We believe it had a faulty wishbone arm from new or it was in an accident when it was delivered to Arden Maidstone.

BMW Nightmare! 7 months ago my 2008 X5 died while I was driving the vehicle. Fortunately, there were very few cars on the road at the time. I jumped the car and took it straight to United BMW in Duluth, Georgia. They informed me that everything checkout fine and I simply needed a new battery. Fast forward 7 months and the vehicle died again while I was driving at a speed of 45 mph. I nearly got rear-ended. My family and I made it home after getting the car jumped, only to have it die in my driveway. Oh wait! It gets better. The vehicle was towed to United BMW in Duluth this morning. I explained the history to the representative named Scott **. Scotts response to me is as follows: 1. You must drive the vehicle at least 20 miles a day. 2. You must lock the vehicle when youre not driving so the system completely shuts down. 3. We recommend you purchase supplemental power for the vehicle to ensure the batter is adequately charged.4. If your fuel is low you may also experience problems. My response to Mr. Scott **: No one in their right mind would purchase a BMW based on what you described! His response, My job is to give you the information. I apologize if your sales representative failed to do so. Needless to say, Im afraid to let my wife or kids operate this vehicle. The service department rep said the refrigerant was low, there were no leaks found and that he will evacuate and recharge the system. He also said dye will be added to help determine the location of the leak. The system was then blowing cool. I had no reason to suspect that the service department was not working in good faith to resolve the problem. The air conditioner was blowing warm air when the controls were set to cool again and I took my car to the service department on May 23, 2014. The service department rep said the refrigerant was low, there were no leaks found and that he will evacuate and recharge the system. I requested that the air conditioner system is repaired or replaced. He also said it is difficult to do diagnostics for a refrigerant leak and that an oil will be added to help determine the location of the leak. The system was then blowing cool and I was charged $209.19. I had no reason to suspect that the service department was not working in good faith to resolve the problem. The air conditioner was blowing warm air when the controls were set to cool again and I took my car to the service department on March 31, 2015. I explained to the service department rep named, Craig, that I am not willing to pay for diagnostics, evacuation and a refrigerant recharge again. I requested that the air conditioner system is repaired or replaced. I also requested that BMW, at the minimum, assist with the cost since the warranty was still active and not utilized at the initial appointment when I reported the air conditioner not working properly. I entered a caveat beneath my signature on the work order that I only agree to have the air conditioner system reviewed for subsequent repair and/or replacement. I told Craig at least four times during the consultation, I do not want to pay for an evacuation and recharge procedure.Craig told me the AC condenser could be damaged from a rock, so hell have to check out the whole system anyway, especially since its out of warranty. I explained to Craig that since the car was not out of warranty the previous two times I reported the issue, some consideration should be given to me as a customer. Craig said he will check with BMW and see if they will help pay as a good-will gesture. He said BMW would probably pay 85% of the cost. I told Craig that I am a single small woman who is financially alone and that I cannot afford to pay $300 every year for diagnostics, evacuation and a refrigerant recharge because I do plan to keep the car. I am planning to retire within the next five years and this is not in my budgetary agenda. Also, I explained if I were to pay $300 every year for the next five years, I would have paid to have the air conditioner system replaced.Craig responded by saying that he was not independently wealthy either. So I left my car with the understanding that every effort would be made to determine how the air conditioner system would be repaired and/or replaced. Craig called me on March 31, 2015 and asked for my permission to keep my car for another day. He said, they couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system and will continue to try to find the problem. I agreed.Craig called me on April 1, 2015 and again asked for my permission to keep my car for another day. He said, they couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system and will continue to try to find the problem. I sighed and he said, and I quote, Hey, Im trying to help you out. Were checking out the evaporator coil and trying to see if its the factory. Even though his tone was unprofessional, I agreed. It was at this conversation I began to suspect that he was not working in good faith to resolve the problem and that there is no recourse for me.Craig called me on April 2, 2015 and said he couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system or any leaks. I asked him if an evacuation and refrigerant recharge was done and he said yes. He did exactly what I asked not to be done. I told him I was not pleased that this issue was not resolved as I requested. He said he did me a favor because he charged me for only one unit of refrigerant and he put in two units. When I asked why cant the system be repaired or replaced, he said they dont know what part to repair or replace. I am so discouraged and angry that I was not given a more intelligent explanation. BMW can build machines for which they cannot repair? He said he will notate on the invoice, that next time, I will not have to pay for the diagnostics. He said maybe next time Ill get a convertible for the loaner car.Craig suggested that I pick up my car in the morning because traffic was heavy on La Grange Road that time of the evening and he wont be there. I dont use La Grange Road to travel to Ziegler BMW and I wasnt interested to seeing him considering my disappointment to the way this issue was handled. So I picked up my car within 45 minutes after being notified to do so. When I got into my car, it stunk like cigarette smoke and sweat. I was provided a loaner car in the interim. The loaner/rental car agreement for a temporary substitute vehicle indicates, No smoking or a $250.00 fine will be charged. A copy of my credit card was obtained to ensure payment should I breach the no smoking policy. However, I am not being compensated to have my car deodorized. In summation, I am extremely saddened to be treated with such disrespect and callousness. I purchased a BMW because I need a reliable car. I also chose BMW because I suspected that I would receive the kind of customer service that would equate with the kind of product I purchased. I am extremely upset and dissatisfied about this issue. I feel very uncomfortable to use BMW for any of my automotive needs. However, I am still interested receiving a satisfactory remedy from BMW as previously requested.

I leased a brand new 5 series and it had a rodent nest and the rodents ate up all the wires. The power steering went after only having the car for 7 days. BMW headquarters does nothing for you. They claim the dealerships are individual owned and you have to deal with the service manager. Never ever again will I go back to BMW after this.

It is not a trustworthy car at all. It is not a trustworthy car at all - put me in a near-death situation. I just about avoided a major accident due to a manufacturing fault with timing chain which should last for 200,000 miles (BMWs claim) and my car has only done less than 68000 miles. This was brought to the attention of BMW before the incident but they are trying to hide behind corporate write-right.It is generally accepted that, for all cars, timing chain should last for the lifetime of the engine. This is a known issue associated with the N42/N43 engine (fitted in models between 2007 to 2011 which my 3 series is from). Even though timing chains are supposed to last a lifetime, clearly this seems to be well known issue with BMW engines and they are well aware of it. We were not aware of it until it was brought to our attention by an external mechanic after taking the car to their garage due to some warning lights. Please note we had taken this to a BMW approved service centre before taking it to an external garage and this was not diagnosed property by BMW approved mechanics (Cooper BMW Cobham to be precise).I informed BMW directly about this issue and also highlighted the fact that the brakes were becoming stiff. They ignored this to a point where the brakes got extremely stiff and nonworkable, suddenly on my way to home with my 5 year old child. Realising this, somehow with all my strength pulled the car to a nearby shopping place, driving crazily. The recovery man checked the car and found the brakes to be so stiff. He asked me, Do you know you would have ended up in a tragic accident, you are very lucky! After the incident, I am still stressed with very little sleep at night. I could not believe that my son and I narrowly escaped a tragic accident. It is unfortunate that neither BMW or the Cooper Cobham, warned me of the health and safety risks involved despite bringing this issue to their attention. They dragged things in the name of diagnosis to be carried out. As this was a known fault, they should have straightway made arrangements for my car to be checked and remedied at their expense. This also reminded me of BMWs electrical failure issue which lead to a fatality and made a lot of press (Narayan Gurung case). In this case, BMW was highly criticised for not recalling cars and putting customers lives at risk. It is saddening to know that these big business minded and money motivated people care so less about precious lives of people. I am not allowed to link the article here but if you google Narayan Gurung road death you will find many articles including reporting on Court criticising BMW.I have taken this matter further with BMW. Even after letting them know of the nearly death accident, they are ignoring it and dragging things in the name of diagnosis. The car is with the garage since Thursday and to date they have not carried out any diagnosis. It is extremely unfortunate that BMW is ignoring such a serious matter. There are more to this story including some crucial evidences, which I am keeping hold of at the moment as I may have to take the matter legally if BMW continues to ignore me despite the seriousness of the matter. But if you are in similar situation, please get in touch as I am happy to share those with you. I am not a car savvy but I have done a lot of research after I found out about manufacturing fault with my car which I use to meet my day to day needs. I am uploading this here so that people are aware of this and am pretty sure there are other BMW users in similar or same situation. I am a person who stand for justice and I am not going to leave it like this. I will keep you all updated of BMWs response to this issue and whether they resolve this at their cost.

I own a certified BMW 335d. In June of 2015 the check engine light went on for the Diesel Exhaust Fluid Tank malfunctioning. This is a device that is needed to make the car USA emissions compliant. I was told by my dealer that the part was on back order for 2 weeks and to continue to drive the car. After 2 months I decided to call BMW Customer care to let them know I needed to register my car in California in October and it needed to pass a smog check. With the check engine light it will not pass, thus making my car fall out of registration. They told me they would help me. After numerous promised dates for the part to fix my car, they told me mine was on top priority and I would get the next one in from Germany. I spoke with my dealer and they told me that since my part was ordered, they received 5 at their dealership that went to other clients that were ahead of me on the list. Their cars did not have the same registration issue as mine, so the priority for those cars to get fixed should be lower. I was not told the truth by BMW of North America. The next one is plain and simple--the next one. BMW of North America is saying it is the field representative that is responsible for the dates and the dealer is telling me it is BMW N.A. Bottom line is they lied to me that I was on top priority and they are giving me the runaround. As of today I am stuck with a car I was told to drive that is now out of registration. Its really nice to make car payments that you cannot drive. BMW absolutely does not care about the customer and they are trained to give customers false answers. They are quite rude on the phone as well. They say I understand, when they really dont care and want to get you off the phone. The customer care department has no real information and they are just put there as a facade. It comes with great pain to say this as the cars themselves are really great cars, but DO NOT BUY A BMW. Great cars, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT.

I purchased a BMW 323i on 19, January 2012, chassis no. **, customer order no. ** from Auto Bavaria at 3A Persiaran Kerjaya, Seksyen U1, Glenmarie, 40150, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. After using the car for about a month, with a mileage of 1,600 km, I observed a bulge on the tire (continental run flat). After sending and requesting for a change of tire on many occasions, my request was denied.BMW cited external factors for the tire bulge, thus declining my request for a new tire. My claim was that the car is still under warranty; BMW staff even agreed that this is a common problem with this kind of tire. If so, why supply such tires for my car? Even if there was an external factor (as claimed by BMW), it must have been minimal as there is no dent on the rim or the body. If the tire can’t withstand a small impact (if any), it must be a sub standard tire. Thus, I request for a new high quality tire for the car. Please advise, thank you.

I sent an e-mail to BMW Customer Service/Relations ([email protected]) including a couple of pictures of my X5. Searching on the web it is clear this issue is present on these model year cars. Today, I was contacted by RuthAnn, BMW Customer Representative, and she basically stated that all they can do is to log a complaint. My 2002 X5 is well over the 4 years/50,000 miles warranty and there is nothing that BMW can do. I explained that this was clearly defective workmanship on the part of BMW given the amount of problems on these model years, but she stated this issue was due to the elements and I should take my car to the dealer to make an assessment of the problem. However, even if the dealer determines it is due to a bad paint job from BMW, there is nothing BMW can do since the car is out of warranty. I tried to explain that I have had cars from Ford and Nissan older than my X5 and they never presented a paint peeling problem. Yet, here I have a luxury car with less years than my old cars where the paint work is peeling away with no warranty coverage. No response there. At the end all I was able to get is to have the complaint logged and be disappointed by BMW once again.

I got scammed by BMW. I entered into a 3-year lease in 2015. In 2016, I purchased additional miles. I was told that any unused miles will be refunded. The Addendum that I signed clearly stated that I will receive back any unused miles at the rate of $.16 per mile. The 3-year lease was over last month and I returned my car with no issues except they refused to refund my unused miles. I was told that I can only receive credit for the unused miles and use it to apply to any outstanding balance. Well, I prepaid my lease up front and there is NO outstanding balance.Your company is so tricky. Tried to get me purchased additional miles, but never ever, not on the phone nor on the Addendum, that clearly stated that any unused miles will NOT be refundable. I hate business like BMW that is so tricky in their own words and agreements and dont tell their customers everything. I will post this scam on Facebook and let everyone know not to buy or lease BMW cars.

I bought a 2000 R1100RT with 84k miles on the clock in July. I was not sure about changing from a cruiser to a sport touring bike. All summer long, when I went to the barn, I kept grabbing the RT. I put over 6k miles on this bike over the past three months, including a canyon carving expedition into the Smokies in August. It's easy to ride, comfortable and quick. Just trying to figure out why I waited so long to trade in my cruiser for a sport touring bike.

Purchased a tire/wheel protection plan (scam) for $1600. When I leased my X3. I took my vehicle into BMW in Bridgewater NJ three times for a tire that had a constant leak and was in need of replacement. Each time I was advised it only needed air. I returned my vehicle to Flemington BMW, where I initially leased it and went across the street and leased another from Flemington Lincoln. I was totally insulted when I received my Lease termination Inspection report only to find that the tire that I bought in to be repaired (right front - run flat) tread was measured to be 3/32. Apparently 1/32 below the acceptable wear and as a result was charged an $300. In addition to a $350 disposition fee for not leasing another BMW.My husband called BMW customer service and complained to Charles ** about what a rip off scam this was and that we wanted to see the tire they measured so can measure it to see this 1/32, when the rest of the tires were above their so called standards. Mr ** had no remedy for my problem and was virtually speechless. First and last BMW. Tire wheel protection with them is definitely a JOKE! Management at Flemington BMW did nothing! Lost a customer.
