2023 BMW 7-Series teased one last time ahead of April 20 debut
Posted On: April 18, 2022
BMW is almost ready to show us its redesigned 7-Series, and to help build the excitement the automaker has released a few new teaser photos and provided an update on the debut. The new flagship sedan will be revealed online on April 20, and will no longer debut at Auto China 2022, which was to run from April 21-30 in Beijing but has been postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions. Expect the new 7-Series to reach showrooms later in 2022 as a 2023 model. The teasers reveal a distinct look for the 7-Series, with the front dominated by a large grille whose surround is illuminated. There will also be dual-element headlights, with the daytime running lights being formed by slit-like elements running along the leading edge of the hood. The look was first previewed last fall on BMW's Concept XM and has since appeared on the updated 2023 BMW X7. 2023 BMW 7-Series spy shots - Photo credit: S. Baldauf/SB-Medien2023 BMW 7-Series spy shots - Photo credit: S. Baldauf/SB-Medien The interior of the new 7-Series will follow a more luxurious route than past generations, with the teasers revealing some jewel-like detailing for the cabin. There will also be multiple screens, one of which will be a 31-inch screen with 8k resolution that descends from the roof to provide a theater-like experience for rear-seat passengers. Gesture control will also feature, alongside voice activation and physical controls. BMW also hired popular Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer to craft some of the sounds for the new 7-Series' cabin. The new 7-Series is based on an updated version of the current 7-Series' CLAR platform, with the latest version capable of supporting multiple powertrain types. Yes, there will be an electric i7 variant, which will be the most powerful variant thanks to an output of more than 600 hp, and also come with a Zimmer-composed soundtrack. BMW estimates a 305-mile range for the i7 on the EPA cycle. Sadly, a V-12 option won't be on the menu. There will also be Level 3 self-driving capability in markets that allow the technology. Level 3 is a reference to the SAE scale of self-driving capability. It means a car that can handle itself in set conditions, enabling the driver to let go of the steering wheel and even look away from the road briefly. However, it still requires the driver to be ready to take back control at a moment's notice. Teaser for 2023 BMW 7-Series (i7) debuting on April 20, 2022 A more advanced Level 4 car can also handle itself in set conditions but will allow the driver to look away for long periods, potentially enabling a driver to sleep behind the wheel. This is because a Level 4 car can come to a safe stop if the driver fails to take back control when required. A Level 4 car can even operate without a driver within its set conditions, for example within a geofenced area. This is the level Waymo's self-driving taxis operate at. The ultimate goal is a Level 5 car. This is a car that can operate to the same ability as a human. BMW has developed its self-driving system with Intel's Mobileye division. The system will also be offered eventually on the 5-Series, X5 and X7, and as an update on the recently launched iX. The system is expected to be designed for highway driving. “The new BMW7-Series is absolutely trailblazing in every respect,” Frank Weber, BMW's R&D chief said in a statement. “Like no other model, the BMW 7-Series stands for BMW's innovative strength."

I own a 2003 BMW X5. This car is a real nightmare. Over the past two years, Ive had the following issues: overheating, driver side windows arm broken, leaking sun roof, amplifier not working, LCD display fading, leaking power steering fluid, leaking engine oil, all door handles broken, broken rear axle arms, unexpected engine shutdown, leaking break fluid. That will be the last time in my lifetime that I will ever buy anything that BMW makes!

2007 BMW 550i transmission - People, if you having a rough shifting on your BMW, dont take it back to the dealer or no it is not your software. I ran into this problem with my BMW, I try everything, but checking the transmission fluids. AS you know BMW dont have dipstick and the computer is not going to tell you if you need to add the transmission fluid. The transmission have a shifting lever that go inside the transmission, over time it will go bad and that cause the transmission fluid to leak people dont realize that. So change the sleeve to keep it from leaking and add new fluid and you good to go and that how I fixed my transmission problem.

Saturday, August 16, 2014, while going to 2:00pm appointment, drive train error notification came on and 2012 BMW 535 with 6,000 mile shut down on Littleton Blvd. in middle of traffic. While I have AAA Premier, I wanted to give BMW roadside assistance the opportunity to serve a customer in stress. I pressed the overhead SOS button and was connected to a rep who told me tow truck would arrive in 70 minutes, 3:38. At 90 minutes, no tow truck. So I called again and was told tow truck company had blowout and was on its way and would arrive in 10 minutes. At 35 minutes, no tow truck. So I called again and was told BMW roadside assistance would contact the tow truck company to see where they are and would call me back. They never called back. My wife who had arrived earlier who has Parkinsons Disease waited with me. I called again and was told the tow truck would arrive at 4:48... It never came. At 5:00pm, I called BMW roadside assistance again and they said tow truck was delayed and would arrive in 1.5 hours. I called Ralph Schomp BMW in Highlands Ranch Colorado, our dealer and they dispatched 2 employees, 1 to wait until the tow truck company arrived and another to take me to the dealership and provide a loaner. While at the dealer, my wife who was kind enough to wait for the tow truck with the Ralph Schomp employee was a nervous wreck when told the tow truck company Alpine operating in Denver had another 2-hour wait until a tow truck would arrive. This would make it 5 hours later. Finally the dealership called BMW and told them to cancel Alpine and send another tow truck company. Finally, after 7pm another tow truck company arrived and pulled the BMW 535 off the street to a parking lot and said they would come back as they had two more vehicles to attend. BMW Roadside Assistance has proven to be a joke! I will never use them again nor will we ever buy or lease a BMW product. I am a 76-year-old, a retired academic with a heart condition and as a result of BMW Roadside Assistance incompetence, I had to spend over an hour at home resting after the exhausting ordeal to survive the incredible stress they caused. I recommend never to trust BMW Roadside Assistance and we will file an official complaint with the company. Ralph Schomp BMW however are a professional group of people who did everything to solve the major problem of a drive train malfunction shutting our BMW down... Courteous, working over the top to provide needed assistance... while putting their own employees at risk.

2012 X6. Has used oil since approximately 6 months after purchase. Smokes. Smells. Oil stains all around tail pipes on paint. Has used 6 quarts of oil in less than 5000 miles. Engine overheats. Engine shuts down to reduced power mode with no warning. Has been at Moses BMW essentially since Nov 2014. Replaced fuel pump, water pump, hoses, sensors, lines, injectors, battery, vacuum system, engine cover, engine partitions, you name it and still limping and smoking. RPMs even go down when I give it gas. This X6 as well as my previous one have given me nightmares since 2009. BMW and its authorized service are horrible. They are not reliable! They are dangerous! They are selling defective products that are dangerous and refuse to even talk to the people who they are obligated to under their warranties.

I placed a new vehicle order for a BMW X5 in September 2014, at BMW Monrovia, CA. BMW North America (NA) changed the delivery date several times. I had no confidence in them but my sales guy kept telling me different stories why they had to put off the delivery. I finally got my vehicle in November 2014. BMW NA then said they would give me a goodwill check ($1,028) for late delivery.I started to have a nightmare for this check. After two months I did not see the check, I went to ask my sale guy at the dealership. He later told me BMW NA sent a $500 check to my previous address. (My sales guy made a mistake by giving BMW NA that address as I had not lived there for two years). He said he had contacted BMW NA several times to ask for the check. It appears no one there was taking care of this matter. After hard pursuit, I finally had my check delivered to me in May 2015. That is six months later after they made their promise. I had to chase after my sales guy who was lazy by not advising me timely what was going on with this matter. The experience was horrible. There was no such thing called customer service with BMW NA. It is shame you have to keep chasing after them closely for more than six months to do their work. It is a shame with BMW NA.

I bought 2013 BMW 328i xDrive in Sterling, VA. My car has 74k miles on it. This car brand new is about 40k. Total repair cost so far: - At 47k miles - transfer case cover failed. - Cost to repair - $7,500. - At 73k miles - Head display unit, where you see navigation & radio etc, froze and failed. - Cost to repair - $2,200. - At 73k miles - Engine valve cover gasket started leaking oil and the Sterling BMW told me that it is at 8 on a scale of 10 to leak fire and catch fire. - Cost to repair - $1,000. TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS SO FAR - CLOSE TO $11,000 = CLOSE TO 25% OF NEW CAR PURCHASE PRICE.I have in my life never ever seen 25% repair costs in first 75k miles on any car I have driven. Highly disappointed and speechless. Thought this was a high end, high quality German built car. I called Sterling dealer, they said they acknowledge the repair price tag and agree that BMW North America should do something about it. So call BMW North America. They said I should have bought extended warranty - Ha!

I am the third owner of an 08 BMW 535I with a bad high pressure fuel pump (recall) that has been replaced two times in the last three years. This would be the third time for replacement, but Gwinnett BMW refuses to replace it. They said it was the alternator, and OM battery that caused the problem to the high pressure fuel pump and my warranty or recall would not be honored. There is nothing wrong with my alternator or battery, they are operating properly. If there is an OM battery in the vehicle it had to be placed in the vehicle prior to my purchase. Last service was at Global Imports in Atlanta, GA.

I have purchased 3 consecutive BMWs. I love the brand. Ive had my most recent vehicle for 3 months, a 535i, and its a great car. I noticed that one of my door handle trim pieces was missing and the other was loose. I looked for damage and there wasnt any. I went to the dealer and they were very helpful and accommodating. They took pictures, took notice of there not being any damage, and they said they would contact BMW on my behalf. A few days later the dealer called me to let me know that BMW would not offer assistance. The resolution they suggested is that I purchase new door handles plus the cost of programming comfort access because the trim pieces are not sold separately. ($500+ Per Handle.)After, I have spoken to BMW independent of the dealer and they are asking for more pictures. I dont understand this since they already have them. I conclude that the trim pieces have fallen off due to a problem with the adhesive not performing to specs (The trim piece itself is made of plastic with tape strip on the inner side). I am very disappointed that as a loyal customer, I would be dismissed in this fashion. I just spent over $60k for this vehicle.

I have had my 2011 528I since 09-02-11. Its a great car. BMW advertises that the only thing you have to pay for is tires and gas. I complained about the $1900 NAV system, and that it was not very user friendly, and that my $200 Magellan was a much better device. I had gone to the dealer, asking for a software upgrade, as the device had trouble finding known businesses that I attempted to locate as a test of the system. I was told that it would cost me $400 for an upgrade (which they recommend 4 times a year). I can buy 2 Magellans with free lifetime upgrades for that price. When I complained to BMW USA, they told me they had no control over local dealers, and they could charge any price they wanted. So much for the Tires & Gas.

Leased a 2013 328xi, brand new, off the lot! Loved the car for the first six months until I was driving one day and the car shut off while driving down a back road. An error code read on the screen, so I called BMW. They manually reset the code, car started right up and drove home. I didnt think anything of it until a month later, Im driving 70 miles on the highway and the car shuts off again! Called BMW and drove the car directly to the dealership. They had the car for a week and couldnt replicate the issue and blamed it on the cold winter we were having even though the car is garaged. Fast-forward another 3 months.. Its spring, warm outside and car shuts down again driving on the highway. This time, almost got into an accident and since I was close to the dealership, drove right there. I refused to take the car back until they figured out the cause, and cold weather wasnt to blame. They had the car almost a full month and couldnt replicate the issue. They claim that there was a loose rear distribution box and fuel pump. Three weeks later, car is back in for check engine light. I get the car back but called corporate BMW and got a complete runaround. Three times in one year the car shuts off, COMPLETELY UNSAFE! After a month of going back and forth with a resolution specialist, BMW refuses to terminate the lease and offers a credit for money toward the lease. NOT ACCEPTABLE!! Still trying to climb the corporate ladder and find someone to speak to. What happens if the next shut off cause an accident?? They dont care, no customer service, and no regard for safety. They say you get what you pay for, well apparently not in this case.

I bought a 2006 BMW 750i CPO. I bought the car with only 39000 miles on it. I have 67000 miles now. I was told the car had 6 years and 100000 miles of warranty on it. When I called about another problem with the car, was told the cars warranty had elapsed. I told them the car was warrantied until 2012. The dealer told me the car was bought in 2005 even though it is a 2006 model and that it had expired. I informed them that the sales person told me the car was warrantied until 2012 and not 2011. They will not honor any warranties. Since purchasing the car, I have been in the shop for Thermostat problem, lighting problem, fluid leak problem from transmission and coolant, steering column problem, etc. I called the dealer and National BMW and nobody will help me. The transmission now has a warning light. If I replace transmission it will cost $5k to $7K.

Im in the military, and when I went to look at cars they told me leasing was the way to go. When I explained that I move a lot and that the chances of me still being in the area when the lease was over were slim they said that wasnt an issue. They said they worked with military people all the time and knew how everything went. Well 3 years goes by and I have to turn in my car. I was told if I turned it in with miles to use Id be reimbursed. I was 8,000 miles under didnt get a penny. Then I am told I have to pay a 300 dollar fee for not getting another BMW. So I was not happy to say the least... then a year later I get a bill for property tax in a state Im not a resident in and never even registered the car in.Apparently they like to leave out that because you lease it means the title belongs to them not you and the states dont allow the exceptions because the title is owned by BMW. Horrible experience trying to deal with this and in the end had to pay a tax I never should have had to pay. Stay away from BMW leasing if you are a Soldier.

I have a 1999 Acura & the paint is not fading nor have any of the seals cracked on the windows. It is a shame you pay all this money for a BMW and the body of the car does not hold up. There are so many issues reported for this vehicle (BMW 745), they have become essentially worthless, so my issue is not with any particular problem as most have been stated already. My issue is that when is BMW going to be held accountable for not doing their own issued TSBs when the vehicle was in for service and still under warranty. Okay so now I will state a particular problem (like we need another). COLD CLIMATE CONDITIONS TSB S.I. B11 01 07 October 2007. In a nutshell it states that in cold weather conditions, the crank case ventilation valve may freeze causing a leaking oil filler cap, leaking or broken valve covers to complete engine failure. What does BMW mean by extremely cold climate conditions, by reviewing forums etc. where the problems have been reported. This extreme cold area appears to be anywhere that it might snow! Being located in central Alberta, Canada is now apparently the equivalent to being in the arctic circle, then again so it would appear for locations as far south as Michigan. One must wonder where the BMW engineers developed the car, my guess Germany, but alas it would appear that Germany must have been unseasonably warm during the testing of this engine. How this is not a mandated recall is beyond my comprehension. But wait it gets even worse! So the valve gaskets start to leak in fall of 2013, I take it in for the repair and the work is performed, but leak persists, then it is discovered that the BMW dealer here in Edmonton supplied, standard valve cover gaskets, not the gaskets referred to in the TSB issued in 2007. Being Edmonton, why would they even supply any gaskets, that were not cold weather approved. Its just not an issue with the 7 series as it also exists in the 6 and 5 series. When it comes to the X5 AWD, where does BMW think their North American customer base is... California? I am the original owner and the car has all off 114,000 Kilometers on it. Does BMW make a good car... no, do they care... no, would I ever buy another ....no. Would I recommend anyone buy one... no. Hopefully this complaint will be read by people doing research prior to purchase and they can avoid the incredible frustration of being a BMW owner.

I have a 2004 BWM X5 4.4, sticker price of just under $66K in 2004 dollars. In August 2014 I installed a BMW trailer hitch so I could tow my travel trailer. I ordered the wiring harness for the lights at that time. They had been on BO nationally and in Germany for months at that point. Today Im told by BMWNA customer relations that BMW will no longer be providing that part for the older X5s. Im SOL.Its past their mandatory 10 federal regulation, so if you dont like it buy a new model to tow anything with. I currently own: 1999 BMW M Coupe, 2004 BMW X5, 2005 BMW K 1200LT. Previous: 2007 BMW K1200GT, 2002 BMW K1200RS, 2009 BMW R1200GS, 1995 BMW 318, 2004 BMW 750. Do you think I will buy another one? Is this any way to treat customers? Is a 10 Year old $66K vehicle really disposable? Shame on BMW for their practices and policies. Anyone else interested in filing a class action lawsuit?

Lesson learned: If you buy a CPO car insist on a new battery... battery dies about a year after purchase $600.00!!! Purchased a two year extended maintenance warranty (battery not covered) BUT unknown to me it was backdated to when the previous maintenance contract expired in 2014. Lesson learned: Read the fine print because why would any educated intelligent adult assume a two year maintenance contract would start the day you purchase it and expire two years later? The salesperson stated that the original bumper to bumper 4yr/50,000 mile warranty was still in effect because it was a 2011 with 47778 miles but when I kept trying to get resolution on the vibration I was told the original warranty had aged out because the original sale date was actually at the end of 2010. They should hold representatives of the company responsible for their statements. As many on here have stated I would expect more from a Luxury car company.

In the last two months, Ive had to replace the battery and the ENTIRE I-drive (a.k.a.--brain) in my 2009 BMW 328I series with 26,000 miles (not a typo, I have another car) to the tune of nearly $3,000! I purchased the car new at the BMW dealership in Tulsa. I am furious and disappointed in BMW! I had such high hopes for this supposedly high performance auto. The dealership in Tulsa seemed at a loss to explain why this would happen in a car with such low mileage, yet didnt hesitate to charge full fees. The car is barely out of warranty. I would love to find out who the regional manager is in Oklahoma and am pursuing that now.

My car had transmission failure. I had the CPO plan to 100,000, and at 147,000, the transmission is dead. I have a 2005 330xi. I still owe $10,000 on it, and it will cost over $3,000 for repair, to have the transmission rebuilt. If they really took care of my car up to 100,000, why is it that 47,000 later, the transmission broke. Unacceptable for a BMW. The car I had prior was a VW, and was still running well at 287k. I cant afford to have it fixed. I am now without a car, and very upset.

I took my brand new BMW to the dealer for a car wash. It was significantly scratched. The dealer Unilaterally decided it wasn’t them. I called BMW North America and reported the issue. The dealer Downtown BMW of Denver sales manager called me, yelled at me and now I am banned from having my car serviced there altogether. Bmw North America told me they were sorry but there was nothing they can do. Each dealer is owned individually. So now may car has significant damage and I can no longer have it washed as I was promised with my maintenance package.I bought the car at Schomp. I purchased the protectant package which I paid $700 for to find out it wasn’t applied. They are refusing to refund my money even though at this point I can’t have the protectant applied because the car is so damaged. Essentially bmw doesn’t care about their customers. They just want To sell cars and once they do you better hope you don’t have any issues because they don’t stand behind their promises.

I purchased an R1200 ST in March 2011. The bike was not serviced or registered in my name upon delivery, and came without the spare key. A week later, the clutch gave in. It was only three weeks later before the registration and an agreement to repair the bike were done. After the second wash, scratches appeared on the tank and covers. A long debate and threats ensued to have the bike repaired, with a promise that it would receive priority treatment. A month later, the bike was delivered without keys, service book and the same scratches. The keys were delivered two days later at 02:00 in the morning. Currently, Im trying to locate my service book from the dealer with no response. BMW SA refused to assist me with my original complaint, and now with the service book. The product may be good, but the after-sale service in South Africa is non-existent.

I bought my R1100RT brand new in Oct., 2000. i rode her daily back and forth on Los Angeles freeways for a year. I put 31,000 on her during first year. She handled very well in rough traffic: stops on a dime and has the ability to power you out of tight spots like a rocket if need be. I rode her recreationally over the next couple of years, and due to knee surgery, I had to park her in my garage over the 2003-2004 time period. Occasional starts during 2005 ended with a dead battery, and her sitting quietly in my garage until the spring of 2012 (yes 7 years). I FINALLY put a new battery in her and she started up with a chug, until I put fresh gas in her. She rode like a champ and I had her serviced within a week. I've put almost 800 miles on her in the first two weeks of bringing her back to life and she hasn't missed a beat. I was thinking about trading her in for a new R1200RT, but after riding her and enjoying the looks of onlookers, I don't think I could ever get rid of her. This is one great machine built by one great company. If you have one; keep it.

We leased 2013 X5 for three years and had to replace the tires around every 8000 mil. Even we have done the regular maintenance, the tires wearing are not match. I only can come out a reason is they have alignment flaw. By the end of lease, we sent the car to the Ontario dealer for pre-inspection. Estimated end lease cost was $950 on Feb 9. Returned car 10 days later, the final inspection at same dealer came out the end lease cost to $1401.20 ($51.20 is overmileage charge, $400 Exterior Wear). We were disagree the new cost and agree to let BMW Financial Services to do the final appraisal. Today we have received invoice for total $2563.30 (Extra charge: $400 Excessively Worn Tires or mismatched Tires and $1000 Exterior Excess Wear). What is a guideline for BMW to do the end of lease appraisal? Be careful when you returning a leased car and not continue to buy BMW.

My 2017 330e has less than 6000 miles and broke down while I was out of state on vacation. Needless to say it ruined my vacation having to spend my time dealing with BMW and leaving it in CA while I had to rent a car to get back to NV. 2 weeks in the shop and no loaner car given. BMW offers a reunite program but only 250 miles or under warranty repairs. I call BS! They want to charge me the difference in mileage for the return of my vehicle which is $250. For the amount of money I pay to have this luxury vehicle they can’t get it back to me? I had to get a rental car to get home, now I have to buy a plane ticket to go get it and drive it back? No one will help me and I can’t even get through to customer service. I will never purchase another BMW again. I’m going back to Toyota. They treat you a whole lot better.

I bought a brand new BMW 530i in 2004. Since I am an independent consultant in the software industry and often work at home, I dont drive that much so until yesterday, it has only about 80,000 miles on it. I was driving on a bridge in San Francisco Bay Area in a slow traffic yesterday, both transmission and engine burned down suddenly (with regular maintenance). The car has been giving me troubles from the first week after I bought it. Whenever I drove in slow traffic, the on board computer will show a warning to tell me Transmission Fault. I have to pull over to turn the engine off and turn it back on again; otherwise, I cant drive it.My BMW - I was told the three letters can be translated into Dont Touch Me into Chinese - finally dead yesterday. I paid $400 to tow it to a BMW (dont touch me!) dealership near where I live, and just got a call from them and told me the total cost to repair is more than $16,000. I am filling a form online to donate the BMW junk to a charity now. In my will, I will ask my son not to buy Dont touch me in his life, and ask him to tell his son not to do so neither.

When I told them I was not interested in leasing another they put their game face on. Inspecting and reinspecting the vehicle in full sun for anything they could tag me with. They pulled out their dingo meter and one tire was a tenth of 1 millimeter off... They banged me for 300 bucks. My dent and ding package only covered the ding if the paint was not chipped on top… They took out the microscope. The general manager was an **... They lost a good customer. Recently purchased a 2016 BMW 228i. The vehicle was equipped with Driver Assistance Package that included Park Distance Control. A safety feature that warns the driver when approaching objects with sensors located both front and rear of the vehicle. A very useful feature to avoiding hitting objects and causing damage to the vehicle so I thought. The rear sensors are automatically activated ANYTIME when placing the vehicle in reverse and backing up. The front sensors are automatically activated when placing the car in REVERSE when first starting the PARKED vehicle BUT do not activate if placed in DRIVE. What good does having the front sensors on when going backwards and not on when going forward? Also, the front sensors automatically turn off after the car is in motion. You must manually activate the front sensors by pushing the button located near the gear shift lever. I did not know this. By forgetting to do this will not warn you of distance of an object in front of you to avoid an accident. In layman terms you forgot to turn on the front sensors beforehand causing you to hit an object and damaging the vehicle. In my case, I would have avoided hitting the curb causing damage underneath the front spoiler because I failed to activate the front sensors that I had no knowledge of at the time. BMW has a representative called a BMW Genius who teaches the new owner every aspects of the vehicle and the functionality of the vehicle. This would have been very useful had I been educated but unfortunately I was not.I contacted BMW customer service as well as the BMW Genius to advise them of the operation of the Park Distance Control and had the front sensors been activated I would have avoided causing an estimated repair bill of $600 to $700 dollars. What good is it if its not on? Should have I known that I was going to hit the curb and to activate the front sensors? Why do I not have to activate the rear sensors? The BMW representative is going to file a Formal Complaint on my behalf and thanked me for informing them of the situation and told me to have a pleasant day.

We sent our 2009 BMW 328i for 85000 mile service, at the same time our A/C was not working. BMW West Houston did a full check, and recommended a lot of parts changes, including the evaporator + gaskets, auxiliary belt and tensioner + bolt-belt tensioner, oil filter housing gasket. The total cost was 3000 USD+. Immediately when I took my car back after the service, the car panel shows the Triangle exclamatory mark, according to BMW West Houston shop that this is the software issue, can be reset easily, I can bring the car back to reset. From the last service, 3 weeks later, the driving mileage shows 570 miles, I start to hear a sharp noise, and soon the service engine soon light turned on. I brought the car back to BMW shop, after diagnostic, BMW has quote again 3000+ USD for some other parts to be changed, and told me to reset the software back I need to pay 500 USD to remove that. It is ridiculous after the full service with a lot of recommended parts replacement, just after 3 weeks the car has such a big issue again, especially there were about 10 days we actually didnt use the car in between. I am very disappointed with BMW quality, also very disappointed with the service quality.

I purchased a 2018 BMW X5 in 2017. We bought a brand new vehicle so I wouldn’t have to be having car trouble. I’ve owned the vehicle about 14 months and it has had 2 engine malfunctions within one year. The vehicle just starts shaking and completely shuts off! Both times it happened in the freeway were cars are driving a constant speed of over 55 miles. Luckily I was able to just merge to the side of the freeway without causing an accident. Very bad experience just thinking I could of put my kids in danger since the engine just shuts off out of nowhere. This last time we were stranded in the grapevine where there was no stores or gas station close by just waiting for the tow truck to arrive. Both times my car has been in service for over a week. I am trying to request a replacement for a car that is not faulty or if they can just reimburse me what I’ve paid for and return the vehicle. I am very disappointed. We thought that one of the best car makers were BMW and it has let me down especially for the price.

2013 335xi CPO 3 bent rims sold to me by BMW of south shore Hingham Mass. First I must start by saying Im writing this review with the facts and non-bias against BMW South Shore Gallery. I have owned 4 BMWs within the last couple of yrs. I recently went to BMW of south shore to trade my SUV for a sedan. Upon my arrival I notice that they had a new facility quite spacious and clean. Not many sales folks on the floor... However after a few minutes I was approach by a young gentleman which was quite articulate. We struck up a deal on my trade for a CPO sedan. After signing and ready for pickup a few days later I notice the car was not cleaned to my expectation... So I told them about it and they asked me to bring it back... so I did. After a few weeks later I was driving going 93 north. During my acceleration I notice that there was heavy vibration when the speedometer was 70 mph... I did not think anything of it... I thought this was just maybe balancing needed. Within a 2-week span I decided to call and make appointment to take a look... After arriving at the service area... I was in quite shock because the first thing the service advisor said was you will need wheel and tire insurance... Im like wtf in my mind... Ok I humored him... Then he said hes going to put it on the lift and show me that its not uncommon that I have bent rims? But 3 rims... How the hell did he know that the rims was bent... After putting it on the lift... he called me to look. He stated that 3 of my rims was bent and needed to be fixed. Keep in my mind I barely had this car for less than an month prior to observing this problem.I told them that Im not responsible for this, as this car is fairly new and I just picked it up. I was appalled by the next comment... that its not uncommon to have 3 or 4 rims bent... Seriously. I said I was going to go directly to BMW and complain of this deceitful practices on CPOs... and especially the folks in the service area selling you unnecessary things... BMW puts a lot into their CPOs and South Shore is putting the money back in their pockets... Right now Im still waiting for a call from them to fix my 3 bent rims which they knowingly sold the car to me with. The average driver would not have notice this issue if they were driving at 55 mph... So beware...Always go over the car thoroughly with the sales person... and have them put it on the lift and have 4 tires rotating so you can see if the rims are bent. My wife brought her car there several times for service and each time it has always been a problem because they serviced the wrong thing... including taking off parts and not putting it on back correctly... Theres no accountability with the service advisor... and mechanics. If you do purchase a car please take to another BMW dealer and have them go over it and I bet you will find quite a few discrepancies...

Since I bought my new 2007 BMW 530I in 2006, I have had a squeaky brake problem - a defect in the rotor. Up to this date, 2012, this problem has not been resolved. I have taken the vehicle into the dealerships repeatedly to fix this issue over the last 6 years, but it has never been fixed, and they never told me that the rotors needed to be replaced to fix the squeaking brakes until now, as my maintenance warranty is expiring soon. Out of all the years I took it in, they never told me this until now, and they appeared to be trying to get money out of me to pay out of pocket. Under the maintenance warranty, I need to drive the vehicle another 14,000 miles before they can replace the rotors for wear, but my warranty will end before I can drive that amount. Otherwise, I will have to pay out of pocket $900 per rotor to replace. I also contacted BMW customer service, and they told me they cannot do anything under the maintenance program and the warranty for the rotors expired already. I am very upset that BMW cannot resolve this squeaking brake issue. Im upset that the dealership never fixed this issue from the beginning, and BMWs poor customer service cannot help me. Ive been driving BMWs for 15 years and had come to trust the brand. I decided to spend a bit more than I wanted to buy a newer version (6 years, 2007 320D model) to try to reduce the generally high costs of maintaining old BMWs. The car had 80k miles, sounded and drove OK. Little did I know that between 2007 and 2009, BMW built their cars with weak timing chains and located them at the back of the engine where they could not be replaced without complete engine removal. Furthermore, the lower timing sprocket is integral to the crankshaft, so the latter has to be replaced as well even though the shaft is hardly worn (600 for the bit). If the timing chain is slightly noisy (not noticeable to most people), the cost to fix is at least 2000. If the chain fails, the engine instantaneously loses power without warning. If you can recover yourselves safely on foot from the fast lane, or wherever, the bill is at least 5000.My local mechanic noticed the slight noise under the engine. I took it to the BMW dealer who agreed that the chain should be replaced. BMW then declined to offer any good will contribution to the repair cost because the car was out of warranty and had been bought from a non-BMW dealer, even though all but the last two services were carried out by the BMW dealer. I have been advised by an engine repair company that they are repairing 3 or 4 of these engines per week (including other models made in 2007-2009) and that the new timing chain is stronger than the old, implying that a design-failure has been admitted by BMW in practice, if not officially. There is no instruction in the owners manual to check the condition of the timing chain (as there is for cam-belts in other makes) so owners are unwarned of this costly maintenance task. In my opinion, BMW, by not admitting their calamitous design errors, are foisting the massive costs onto owners. Be warned of BMW incompetence and insensitivity if you are thinking of buying one of their cars. I would be pleased to consider taking part in a class action against the company, alleging that their denial of fault is false and that they are liable for all repair costs. This would need proof with expert witnesses but might be affordable if enough people come forward.

After reading through the majority of complaints here, Ive come to the conclusion that it is either the failure of the consumer to research the product carefully or expectations that are unrealistic and do not disclose the full story. For those that have had a bad sales experience, it is a failure of the dealership employing sales people that do not know their product and over promising and under delivering. If you buy a used car especially over 85k, as I read regarding the X5, expect it to have mechanical failures with some parts that require maintenance, i.e. cooling system parts such as t-stats and water pumps. Modern cars that are built by teams of suppliers are all prone to failures of suspension parts, bushings, window regulators, etc. and is an unfortunate result of the economies of building a car, any car. Buying a car because you thought it was prestigious, well, thats just an expectation residing in stupidity. BMW have never stated their x products are true off roaders (look at the wheels and tire profiles!). If you want that, buy a jeep or LandRover or LandCruiser. Navigation systems, blame the software guys (probably Navteq). They provide the disks for everyone in the industry. The car you purchased CPO was state of the art at the time and has evolved quite quickly. All of you expecting a car that is bare bones, be aware that most cars today have ecu/telematics units with more computing power than a Saturn V rocket (that took the Apollo astronauts to the moon). The trans guy? You needed a new clutch probably because you continued to drive the car after the trans light came on in which you probably needed a trans shift solenoid (approx $200). I am on my third car and have been fortunate to own many performance marques, all of which have had their share of issues. For the woman that claimed she was dismissed because car was out of warranty, what do you expect? What do you not understand? Out of warranty is out of warranty. You didnt complain if they fixed stuff at their cost within the warranty. Now, its your turn to incur cost. Cars arent cost free to maintain. You bought a car. A product. Thats it! You didnt do anything to qualify you for winning the Nobel prize so why should your expectation be that they fix your problem? Should they fix everyone elses car on the road thats out of warranty? For the guy with the motor mount issue, your car was probably in an accident. I have seen CPOD cars sold without disclosure of accidents by a major luxury japanese manufacturer and thats not the fault of the marque but the dealerships shoddy and shady selling practices. Conclusion, educate yourself if you buy anything. And stop with blame or false expectations that youre owed something. Car manufacturers step up to the plate to cover you either warranty or goodwill when analytics show there is a problem.

Driving along and all of the sudden a fan came on with a loud blowing sound. I parked my car and planned to take it to the shop the next day. I checked the coolant, it was a little low so I added. The next while on the way to the shop, still loud blowing, the engine overheat warning came on. I pulled over and towed to the shop. As soon as they hear the fan come on, they said immediately, the water pump failed - We get about 4 or 5 a week on this car. As a result, I have to replace a water pump, and cracked radiator, $2,000. I check the internet and found many, many of the same complaints. I read that there was a recall for the X5s with the V8 engine. I imagine the design is the same and therefore the recall should include the V6 engine as well.

I am overly wrought about my purchase of a 1994 BMW (purchased in 2003 with only 62,000 miles). It now has 132,000 miles on it. The following has happened in the last three years: the transmission went out, air conditioning went out, SRS system is down, radiator went out (2 times), $2,000 of leaks, and lumbar adjustment (both seats) broken.

I purchased this vehicle brand new. During the warranty period, there were issues that were resolved. However, at only 67k miles the car is no longer under warranty and starting to fall apart. My problems have been a bad blower motor, steering angle sensor and water pump. Its unfortunate that BMW strives on quality when their vehicles cannot reach 100k. From my experience, BMW is overrated and their customer service is even worse.

I just bought the car in Sept 2018. It has been in dealership service 5 times since then including a TWO MONTH stay that I just picked up yesterday. Had to call today because engine is stuttering on highway AGAIN and need to take back in for additional service. The dealership has had the car in repair status more time than I have been able to drive it! Total lemon in my estimation. I am paying car payments but cannot drive the car.

I purchased a CPO BMW because I wanted to feel safe and secure that the vehicle was well maintained. The cherry on top was that I would be getting free maintenance for 3 years. Then I found out the restrictions along with the free maintenance which includes only one oil change a year. I live in an area where there is no BMW dealership. So after two years, I took my vehicle in to a local place so that I could get oil changes after 6 months. I thought it would be a good test to see how good the place was too since I would be taking it in to the dealership the next time. The service place reset the indicator lights on my BMW so that I wouldnt get the incessant notification - I thought was nice of them to do that. My mistake. I took my vehicle in after 50,000 miles to get it serviced and BMW said they couldnt perform most of the major 45,000 and 50,000 mile maintenance because the service light wasnt on. I tried to escalate by calling Customer Relations, but they pushed it back to the Dealership and the area managers. The area managers said since I hadnt been in to a dealership for over a year, it showed that I didnt have any brand loyalty.Keep in mind the closest BMW dealership to me is about 45 minutes away - so not a quick drop off. Also, keep in mind I went the past two years and realized they would only perform maintenance on my vehicle once a year anyway - anything earlier and I wasnt qualified for any service. Seriously? How much does it cost to change spark plugs on my car anyway?!?! Theyve certainly lost a customer in me. I was going to have other service completed ($800+) but after this treatment, Ill take my chances and go to a local place instead.Ill give them credit that they did perform some of the other warranty covered items (like replacing gaskets, etc.), but it makes me angry and frustrated that they wont perform the regularly scheduled maintenance items due to me not having brand loyalty, especially when Ive always gone to BMW except for one time. And something as minor as not changing spark plugs has decidedly made me never to buy BMW again. I love the way the cars drive, but the joy of driving it doesnt compensate for the poor treatment I get as a customer. I should have listened to everyone else who said BMW doesnt care about their customers.

I send my car to BMW of Main line on Bala ave, Bala Cynwyd PA to fix the engine as I noticed a white smoke come out of tail pipe. The car have only 80 K. After they take the car for about month they give me the car. I drive the car for about two months. It was time to change the oil. I go to another BMW dealer closer from my new home. After they change the oil I noticed a ticking noise. At the time I go to pickup my car, they inform me that this issue inside the engine and I should take the car to the dealer who open the engine for me as this engine should be under cover. I called BMW of main line and I called BMW of north America. NO one helped me, no one even their manager told me to take it to BMW who change the oil and the one who change the oil, they told me to take it to the one who open the engine. They forgot that both of them are BMW and I dont care how they deal with this thing. I just need this ticking noise to be fixed. They only smile on your face when you are there to buy a car, then when you go back to fix something that they cant handle they just keep ignoring you. They look for cheap mechanic to handle our cars. They are not professionals.

I have 316I model 2010. Although PM services are being performed at BMW service center as per BMW manual, but while driving, Ive discovered that air condition is not working. Cairo BMW service center informed me that the coolant has to be replaced. Im wondering that an expensive car manufactured by reputable company, an important part gets faulty within 3 years after 42,000 km which is not happening in cheap cars. The problem is not only the cost of replacement but what hurts me is driving long way in sandy and hot weather with no AC and the cost of renting a car while my BMW is being fixed. This makes me hesitant to depend on my BMW car again, although it is not the case with BMW brand name. Please advise what to do. Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you.

I purchased a 2009 BMW 238i and on Sep 30 2011, I took it to get an oil change. I dropped it off, got a loner, and went to work. Before I dropped it off that morning, the car ran great, it had no ticking, no engine lights nor loss of power. I hadnt heard from BMW so I called them, they said that they had talked to BMW NA and I need to agree to them removing my valve cover, at my expense of $700. I said that I only wanted an oil change. He told me they terminated my warranty. My warranty was for 4years/50,000 miles, it had not expired. I was very upset and made multiple attempts to call BMW NA and the supervisor told me that they would have to go with what the service center said and there was no one else to talk to. Disappointed, I picked my car up.The check engine light came on and while I was on the highway, the car made some loud ticking noises and the car seemed to be experiencing some power loss, in the mist of high traffic. I was in the middle lane when it started, and I immediately got over to get off the highway. And as I pulled off the highway, the car suddenly shut off (no power). I barely made it off the road. It just shut off. I had to call for a tow. That weekend, the car cranked up and it seemed to be nothing wrong. I took it around the block to see if it was okay. The ticking returned and the car shut off again and I had to coast it off the road onto church grounds and call a tow truck again. And now it will not crank at all. This is my only car and I have to rent a car. I did some research online and found several recalls, for example: BMW High-Pressure Fuel Pump Voluntary Emissions Recall and Voluntary Emissions and Safety Recalls, and tons of complaints about safety and how BMW terminates a lot of peoples warranties prior to their expiration date. BMW seems to be putting all of our lives at risk and terminating warranties at will.

On 17 December 2015, my wife brought our 2011 BMW X5 to Elite BMW in Ottawa
On 17 December 2015, my wife brought our 2011 BMW X5 to Elite BMW in Ottawa due to low coolant light appearing on the cluster. The dealership conducted almost two-hour diagnosis and determined that our vehicle requires a new water pump, thermostat and some oil gasket. The job should have been finished at the end of the day and my wife was waiting a phone call to pick up the vehicle. My wife did not receive the phone call and now it was 18 December 2015, 2 PM. My wife called to the dealership querying the vehicle. She was put on hold and then the dealership promised to call her back. My wife did not hear anything and then she called over one hour later again, now the dealership admitted that there has been a problem with our vehicle. In the process of repairs (i.e replacing water pump, thermostat and engine oil gasket and oil), the technician during is test drive (at least the dealership report states) had seized the engine. The technician had completed the work and replaced the engine oil (as they say) and was in process conducting the road test when the engine seized. Now the dealer is denying their responsibility and is suggesting us to buy replacement engine? How generous, they are even helping us to find cheaper used engine? Dont we have laws in Canada? This should not be even a question, i.e. you broke it, you bought it. Elite BMW is now working with BMW Canada and in preliminary discussion, BMW agrees to cover off 60% of the cost and the rest is collected from the customer based on the general manager, as the dealership is trying to wash their responsibility of the accident. The whole accident is tarnishing the BMW brand. The way situation is handled is less than it is expected of the brand. This is cheap shot and poor representation of the brand and is turning off customers and investors from the brand. Mierins Automotive Group, especially Elite BMW is keeping their promise: creating a dealership experience like no other. The truth does not lie in words rather than actions. Indeed BMW military appreciation program is to sell smiling in front of you and stab you on the back - thank you BMW Canada and Mierins Automotive Group! We provided the complaint letter to the service manager (Isabelle), basically stating that you broke it, you bought it. The BMW Canada agrees to cover off 60% of the cost of the engine rebuild and the dealership and the general manager and the service manager deny their role to the cause of the damage. The general manager offered the engine rebuild for approx 15,000 CAD, which we have doubts as the technicians failed the water pump replacement. In a discussion with the senior technician, he mentioned that the dealership have difficulties to find and retain technologically incline technicians as BMWs are challenging vehicles to maintain and repair. We as consumers should have rights and laws protecting us. When a vehicle is left to the dealerships care, it should be returned minimum at the same condition it was left there. We are a military family and protecting this country and its citizens and this is the thank you for the service from its citizens as return.

I have recently bought myself a 530D BMW, FPJ875MP, from the Zambesi BMW dealership in Pretoria. I based my purchase on the following reasons; safety of my family, whom I believe we all value. I have always associated BMW with high standards in terms of safety and service delivery. This was still my opinion even after I purchased the vehicle. Looking back now, I feel the sales person did not portray the actual facts about the vehicle that was sold to me. If I purchased the vehicle from a private dealer then I understand the risk, however, I came to a reputable dealership to avoid any complications associated with purchasing vehicles from private owners or private dealerships.I work abroad for long periods at a time and last week, January 3, my wife was on her way back to Secunda, at night, on the N17 when the right rear wheel burst at 120km/hour, with other traffic around them. She managed to avoid a serious accident and bring the vehicle to a stop on the side of the road. This left my family stranded next to a location close to Carnival City. She was assisted by a stranger, who advised her to move the vehicle for safety reasons to the nearest bridge, where he assisted her to change the wheel. First and foremost, the salesman assured me that the vehicle had gone through the BMW Quality Assurance and that the vehicle had been serviced. I was not given any record of either. After a month, the service light came on, upon which we contacted the salesman. He advised me to bring the vehicle in for a service, which took one whole week. The spare wheel was taken out of the vehicle and not returned until we questioned the salesman. The salesman also promised us lock nuts for the vehicle upon purchase on which he has not delivered. On January 4, she went to a tire dealership, who on inspection, discovered that the wheels, both rear wheels were running on the wire on the inside and that being the reason for the tire ending up like it did. Upon purchasing this vehicle, the sales consultant informed me that he had placed two new tires on the vehicle and I am failing to understand how these could be worn out like it was over a couple of months. Both my wife and I are conservative drivers. Upon purchase of the vehicle, it had four run flats. However, when receiving the vehicle, he had placed the ordinary tires on the vehicle.Over and above everything, I purchased a BMW from a BMW dealership because I trust the brand and also associated it with quality. As you can imagine, my wife has lost faith in the brand as well as its representatives. She was shaken up by the incident and the lack of integrity from a sales point of view is very poor. I purchased this vehicle from a BMW dealership to avoid all the complications that I have not avoided. I now want to know, what you are going to do about it.

I bought a x5 2009 with 36.000 miles. Because I never had good reviews about BMW cars and my wife want this car so much, I bought a extended warranty for $5000. Now the car is 51000 miles and it is leaking oil from the valve cover and is leaking oil from the main seal and needs motor mount. The car is service at BMW. The technician said he was going to have to lower the engine and transmission in order to change the main seal. Also, he said BMW that doesnt leak oil is not a BMW (sarcastic). $2000 job, thanks God I bought the extended warranty. My last car was a 2002 Acura mdx, drove 9 years, put 187,000 miles, never leak any oil and the only money I spent in that car was a tune up I did when the car was around 120.000 miles. My next car will be a Lexus gx460, the real ultimate drive machine!! Bmw is good for the rich people, they lease for 2 years then return and get another one. Bmw cars after 2 years of use, it start to fall apart.

Love this car (X1) great value for the price. It drives beautifully and has UNBELIEVABLE radius. Its extremely solid and easy to keep clean. However, its small inside and will not fit standard car seats. Also, the beeping and chimes are total overkill and cause anxiety. The clock cannot be seen well. The worst part is the locks. I am a big loyal long time fan of BMW (German Engineering).I was referred friends family to buy BMW cars based on my experience. Finally that came to an end. Little story - First time I took my 2008 BMW X5 (36K miles) on a vacation out of Colorado with my family (Wife and Little daughter). I drove from Boulder, CO to LA and was driving this big guy was fun. Stayed in LA couple weeks then I went to San Diego to see zoo and Sea World. On Saturday we went to zoo, came back and drive my BMW x5 to Los Angles Americas shopping center. Had good time shopping center and finished the dinner. Then got in to X5. Started the car. Something unusual. Heard some big fan noise and then opened bonnet and looked for noise. Fan was running like chopper blades. Thought it’s because of air-conditioning is running in full mode. Then drive the car for 1 mile and suddenly engine over heating symbol displayed on dashboard. Then I took my car in near gas station (it was midnight, 10:30 PM in new place) and stopped. Luckily internet was on my smart phone and searched the internet for this problem and found lots of postings. After reading these posts, I understand something went wrong in engine cooling system. I called my insurance guy to tow the car and drop at nearest BMW dealer. Tow guys showed up in 30 minutes and off loaded all the things out of my car and handed it tow guys. My hotel is quite far and I need a car to go to sea world next day .I took taxi to airport to rent a car. Around 2 AM reached hotel...I was trusting BMW than any other brand because all that I was feeling that BMW are made finest engineering company and will not break down at least within 60k miles. My perception was wrong. Today morning I got a call from dealer and said electronic water pump is broken. The repair cost would be 1300 USD.I searched internet and NHTSA for recalls. I found one recall 11V521000 about the same issue. BMW recalled 2008-1011. I called BMW Customer Care about the same thing. They took around 55 minutes to find the recall information. Finally they said your VIN is not under the list. My problem is same exact problem what they recalled for. The supervisor was very rude (Her name is CASEY **, Resolution Specialist, Customer Relation Department) at me and behaved like she is the only decision maker in BMW. I felt really very bad and regretting why I bought BMW. The colleague was next to me was able to hear all the conversation. He is worried now because he owns X5 and M3. What bad service from BMW.

On 08th of September I collected brand new BMW X1 (my dream car), sDrive16d SE N47 2.0, GU64EVC from your dealership. The car is defective and the faults are: 1. Very stiff reverse gear (due to this now I am suffering from a tennis elbow on my left hand). 2. The In car sat nav system which cost me 890.00 (low volume mainly when driving in motorways & giving wrong directions). My TomTom sat nav, which I bought for 200.00 is about 5 years old and have much more features and options than the pricy in car sat nav (if I have known this I would not buy it). 3. The driver seat is too low & most uncomfortable car I have ever driven in my whole life. Every time I take a long drive I end up having severe back pains. (I am at a point that I can’t risk my health). I have to say, I am very disappointed & have lost my trust in BMW due to the entire experience. I have been told by service department that they cant find any fault with the car and they are not going to help me. Few more issues I would like to make you aware of the car, these glitches don’t occur continuously however do happen and truly frustrating: The radio/music stop functioning unexpectedly, Unable to use the Bluetooth, Sat nav disappear from the screen, Tire pressure warning light keep on appearing. It seem as I have to check the tire pressure every two weeks. How inconvenient is this.

For the past 10 months I have been unsuccessful in getting BMW North America to pay a rebate. If this was the first time I would accept this as just bad luck - however in ALL cases that I have applied for rebates the same BMW policy/process has been adopted to reject a rebate claim regardless if all documents have been submitted correctly. BMW should not offer rebates if the intent is not to pay the rebate or they make it so difficult that the average person just gives up as the rebate value does not warrant the effort.I have received excellent (amazing) service from Darian BMW for the past 7 years, however BMWs corporate policy regarding automatic rejection of rebates is an unethical business practice and is going to drive customers like myself to support competing manufacturer like Discovery who honor their programs and pay rebates promptly. I have applied for 3 rebates in the past 6 years from BMW, with only one rebate been paid after many months of continues arguments and re-submissions.Rebate 1: After months of following up I was informed that the first rebate was received by BMW but the voucher needed to be submitted by myself as the program had ended. BMW North America informed me that it is the customers responsibility to retain advertising documents as proof of rebate. As I did not retain a copy of the advertising documents, and was unable to get a copy from BMW the claim was rejected and not paid.Rebate 2: I submitted a rebate claim with advertising documents and BMW invoice. As with rebate 1 the application was in the system and been processed, however after 3 months of continues follow-up I was informed that the application was rejected as not all of the paperwork was received (even though BMW had confirmed previously that documents had been received and payment was been processed). In this case I had proof of submission and that all paperwork was provided.BMW apologized and said they would process, however 2 months later I followed up to query why I did not receive the rebate. BMW informed me that they are unable to process the rebate as they have no record of the rebate program. Having learnt from the first rebate I retained all documents. I resubmitted (3 times) the paperwork with a copy of the rebate advertising documents etc. BMW once again apologized and finally processed the rebate. Total process time over 8 months with numerous calls, emails and re-submissions.Rebate 3: Rebate 3 was submitted with Rebate 2 (same time) as the work was completed at the same time. BMW received all paperwork but in this case BMW North America forgot to process this rebate with rebate 2. BMW apologized and at first agreed to honor the rebate. After 9 months of continues follow-up BMW North America have informed me that they do not have the money to pay this rebate and that payment will need to be processed from BMW Germany? I got my engine car (BMW E46/320D). Its hard to start, so I sent it to Leal & Co. Ltd. for the repair. After several repair and adjustment, they sent a bill of RS 27,093 for the repair. I paid for it and took my car but the next day, I got the same problem with it. So I would like to make a complaint of how can it be possible that a day after such repair and payment, my car is still the same. I have no car since that date, 08/12/2011, and I would like to know if the supplier of BMW (Mauritius) can solve my problem or not.

Bmw x5 bought new for over $90,000. It has only done 78,000 miles and the car just died whilst I driving on the motorway. I had it taken to BMW SPIRE in London. 2 days later they emailed me saying I have to pay them 16,000 ($20,000) to repair it because the timing chain had gone. I had the car serviced by them one week before and they said nothing about it. No warnings. Nothing. It has a full service history with BMW SPIRE. The Bmw cars are not fit for purpose.

In August of 2013, I purchased 2010 X 3. This car had approximately 27 K and factory warranty effective through the end of April 2014. Approximately 2 weeks prior to the expiration of the warranty, I noticed a vibration in the drive train and took the car to the local BMW dealer for evaluation. The dealer determined that a manufacturing defect was contributing to the symptom but that another related component was also defective that BMW was already aware of for my make and year vehicle. The dealer replaced the component causing the initial symptom and advised that it would be 8 to 10 weeks before BMW could manufacture the other needed component and that all of these repairs would be covered under warranty. We were advised to keep and drive the car pending the receipt from BMW Germany for the other component, at which time we would be re-scheduled to return for completion of those repairs. We took the vehicle on an out-of-town trip days after having these initial repairs and while away several warning lights came on indicating a number of issues. Because the car was still drivable we completed our trip and promptly returned the vehicle to the BMW dealership for evaluation on approximately April 29, 2014. We were advised the car was now in worse condition than before and we were lucky that the differential had not locked up going down the highway. The car was left at the dealership who arranged for a loaner vehicle pending the repair of mine. On June 21, 2014, I was contacted by the dealership and advised that my car was repaired and ready to be picked up. I requested a test drive before taking receipt and the shop foreman accompanied me and my wife on a test drive. The car surged upon stopping which it did not do before and the vibration in the drive train was still very pronounced when turning. The shop foreman agreed the car was not roadworthy and we returned to the dealership. As of July 29, 2014, the dealership has not completed repairs to my vehicle. This vehicle has been out of service now for three months. I have offered to buy the loaner vehicle because my wife and I have lost all confidence with the dealers ability to competently repair my car. The dealer and BMW have offered assistance in an effort to negotiate a trade; however considering the aggravation and lost trust, their terms are currently viewed as unreasonable for me. We have had many BMWs down through the years and normally receive very good service from the car. The dealers however need more customer service training.

I lease a $120,000 750xi and have had nothing but problems with this car. The car has been in the shop over 10 times including the recent 25 day trip where they replaced the engine!!! On a brand new 2016 lease never owned before. BMW refuses to make my payment for me. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. They lost my car once, one time gave me the car back with a flat tire. The list goes in. THE WORST COMPANY EVER.

So I leased a 2020 430 convertible in July 2019. A month later driving the car in 90° weather after two hours of driving the air-conditioning broke. Brought the car back to the dealership, they said the problem was fixed. A month later same situation. Brought it back, he said it was fixed. The following summer in 90° weather same situation after a few hours of driving air-conditioning stopped. Brought it to a different dealership, problem was fixed, it was not. Currently two weeks ago in June, driving back from the Jersey shore and 98° weather I stopped at a rest stop and left my daughter and my dog in the car. When I came back I found that the air conditioner had stopped, my daughter who has down syndrome, my dog suffered mild heatstroke. Contacted Bmw multiple times. They tell me that nothing is wrong with the car. And have yet to buy me out of my lease. So worst company ever, this car is a lemon. There’s nothing but problems with these BMWs. Do not purchase or lease then.

Without warning, my 2007 BMW 328Xi engine shut off and stopped in the middle of a busy road. I was told by a BMW service rep that my fuel tank draw tube fell off causing loss of fuel to the engine. I learned online that this is happening to other 2007 era BMWs and the reason is that the fuel draw tube is corroded by the fuel it is drawing and weakens and falls off. The fix is a new fuel tank, pump and draw tube for excess of $2,000.When contacted by my service rep, BMW gave a token $500 toward my repair leaving me with a $1,900 repair bill. Had this failure occurred on a busy Seattle freeway, my life would have been in grave danger as would have others around me - there would have been an accident with no way to avoid it. BMW is aware of their product failure and my question is who has to die before BMW steps up to the plate and accepts responsibility and recalls and repairs these vehicles? If you own a 5-7 year old BMW (maybe newer), its going to happen to you and I would appreciate your raising your voice to BMW before someone has to die to get BMWs attention.

Firstly, I must state that I have driven BMW for over 20 years til July 2016. Let me start by saying I am a professional taxi driver. I do mainly corporate work. I have tried to build up a nice little business for myself. My mantra was that I provided reliable service in a good, clean car, at reasonable rates. When I went into this business I looked at all the makes and models of cars that would be suitable to deliver the type of service that I was trying to achieve. I ultimately settled on the BMW 520D (The ultimate driving machine or so their marketing team would have you believe). My plan was buy the car in England 2 years old, keep it for 3 to 4 years, writing the depreciation off against my tax liability. The year is 2009. I have built up my business and was going from strength to strength. At this stage I am on my second 520D car as a taxi.I go to Joe Duffy motors BMW Finglas to get a service, as I am due my NCT the next morning in Fonthill. I go for my NCT and the car fails, due to too much oil in the car. Irate, I phone BMW Finglas and I am put through to the Master Mechanic. The gentleman does not have the greatest of English, but after 20 minutes he finally grasps what I am saying and tells me to drop straight over with the car and he would remedy the matter, as it is a simple process to drain a little oil out of the car. While I am still on the phone, the service manager comes on the line and in no uncertain terms tells me I must have put the oil in myself. The said Service Manager then demands that I pay for keeping the Master mechanic on the phone. I laughed at this, and I never went back to Joe Duffy Motors Finglas. After getting this sorted myself by a good garage the car drives very well, with me only having to replace the gearbox, the clutch and cooling system. We now skip forward to 2013. In August 2013 I purchased a 2011 BMW 520D. 2-year-old 50k miles on the clock. Full service history. Service pack and BMW warranty. Beautiful machine. Great drive. Smooth driving experience. The first thing I noticed is that every time I wash my car the headlights blow. This is covered under warranty so no cost to me but I am later informed by BMW that if I keep blowing bulbs they would not be replacing them on an ongoing basis (I ask is this normal to happen, no one can answer but also no one investigates the cause. I will have to replace the bulbs every 2 weeks for the life of the car. This mystery is solved in 2016.) Then January 2014 it all changed. Timing chain went. BMW replaced no charge (car off the road for 6 weeks). Then, oil leak was ongoing for 6 months. BMW said that it was not a leak. It was the engine bedding in. (I was back in touch with BMW every week and down to the garage most weeks and was always told that the leak was fixed) that it was a different leak each time??? It took 6 months to sort the oil leak out. Then 2 weeks later, coolant leak. 2 water pumps and 2 radiators later (I paid for 1 of each then I was told they were faulty). It takes over 1 month to sort the coolant leak issue. Then, diesel leak. In fairness I brought the car down and it was repaired first time. No further leak. Then, timing chain went again. BMW replaced no charge (car off the road for 4 weeks. They are getting quicker. Must be all the practice they have got from the F10 Model). I drive the car from the BMW garage in Naas and as I get to the Esso garage on the Naas road the oil light goes on. I purchase 3 liters of oil. I ring the garage screaming blue murder over this and I am informed by the service manager that it is grand as the engine holds 6 liters and not to worry about it as they had put the correct amount of oil into the car. Oil leak again for 2 months down every week and every week I am told the oil leak is fixed and that each oil leak from then on is a new oil leak. Now we move forward to November 2015. Guess what??? Timing chain goes again. I contact BMW and the car is towed down to the garage. Now the service manager informs me that he has recommended to BMW that they replace the engine to which BMW say NO WAY. BMW look for the work sheet to compare what had been fixed the last 2 times. BMW fix the timing chain no charge to myself (I am off the road for 3 weeks). The ultimate driving machine is back on the road but for how long? I wont be holding my breath. 1 month goes by after the timing chain has been replaced. Now a new problem has arisen. The crank bends, or so I am led to believe, and the bearing disintegrates inside the engine. Back to BMW with the car (oh the joys of driving the ultimate driving machine). I pay 5k to have the car repaired. I get in the car and as I am driving up the Naas road I try to check the oil reading in the car. Its not working??? The windscreen washer is not working??? The bonnet is not sitting right on the car??? There are scratches on the drivers side wing where some village idiot in BMW has leaned on the car looking into the engine and his zipper has scratched the wing (I have pictures of same). I contact the garage and they say I have to bring it back to replace the sensor in the sump no charge. Then I find the heating on the drivers side is not working. BMW said that they did not do anything to the heating (strange that). I have asked BMW for a list of all the parts that have been replaced in my car since I bought it. I am still waiting as details of anything that was repaired under warranty, I am not privy to. The service manager informs me that there is something peculiar with the mileage of my car but stops short of saying the car was clocked. I went back to the garage I bought the car from and I informed him of what had been said and what I felt had been implied. He goes to see Conlans and was told that I misunderstood what they had said to me and what they meant was that I did very high mileage.Does that mean the car is not fit for purpose and BMW the ultimate driving machine is only good for short trips to the shops and not able to cope with long distance driving??? If the car was clocked, then it would have shown up in the BMW service history. My car is serviced every 22k kilometers. If a light comes up on the dash its straight in to be repaired. I still say when the car is running, it is a pleasure to drive. It is now February 2016. The coolant leak is back. The heating on the drivers side does not work. The bonnet is not on right, but I am sure Conlans will remedy this. My insurance company will not transfer my policy onto another car if my own one breaks down again, as I have done so too many times in the last year. My policy is renewed in May. The breakdown service I use has informed me that if I breakdown again before May I will have to pay for towing, as I have exceeded the amount of tows in a year.Coolant leak fixed in June 2016, oh the joy of driving a performance machine. I have never had more than 3 months trouble free driving. At the start of July I had to replace the headlight unit with the module at a cost of 1280.00 (this solves the mystery of the blown bulbs). It is now the middle of July 2016. I am now broken down again on the Howth Road at 12:20 am. The tow truck I have been told will take almost 3 hours to get to me. Finally have the piece of ** car on the back of the tow truck. Did you know that if the engine is not started, the car cannot be simply put into neutral. No this is a BMW one of the finest motoring vehicles on the road today and because of this you have to jack up the car, remove the bottom cover off the engine and release the drive shaft. WHO IN GODS NAME THINKS THIS ** UP???As it turns out, the engine is seized. Overheating??? Lack of coolant. Checked the coolant levels they are fine??? Lubrication either too much or lack of? Oil levels are ideal and before I am asked it is the correct oil recommended by BMW themselves? Mis-assembled? I would have to check with BMW over that wouldnt I? But like asking a burglar did he rob me??? What do you think the answer will be? I have lost numerous accounts due to the fact that I am now seen as unreliable. I am at my wits end. I have tried to be reasonable and polite with both the garages and BMW Ireland but I now firmly believe nice guys only finish the race if they push the BMW car over the line. I have tried not to put my emotions or feelings in this letter. I have tried to just state the facts as I see them. I know I cannot face another year of dealing with this poor service and bad treatment from both parties.I contacted BMW Ireland and had no joy or assistance in any of these matters. I thought I was buying a premium car to service the executive clientele in the corporate sector, how wrong I was? It would have been better to have bought a 10 year old Skoda for a third of the price. At least then I would have been able to keep working. My mileage in kilometers is 315,000. I have calculated that over the last 3 years I have been off the road on average for 1 week per month. I can only assume that whoever is reading this letter, is wondering why I keep going back to Conlans BMW if I have had so much trouble with their work over the last few years. Well here is the answer. I have to keep going back to them as they did the original work and to protect the warranty on the work that has been carried out by them on either BMWs behalf or for work that I have had to pay for.I have asked, on numerous occasions, if I can bring my car to another garage to be repaired and I am told yes you can but you will have to pay for the work to be done even though I have paid through the nose for the work that has been done so far. I have driven BMW cars for the last ten years and I always said that they were the best driving machines in the world. I cannot, in all honesty, say that anymore and who can really blame me? I feel that BMW do not give a fiddlers about customer service and could not care less that their vehicle is a piece of crap. I have now bought an Audi A6 in the hope that it is better than the 520D piece of **. You may have gathered by my letter I harbor a certain amount of bitterness towards BMW and their lack of customer service that I feel has been shown to me. I am now going to setup a twitter account to highlight just how badly BMW treat their customers.

And so she conference the line with service manager who instead of servicing this issue accused me that I abused my car with an Acid pour?? Seriously ?? I own a 1999 BMW 328i e46. At 0715hrs March/23/2017 I was driving to work when out of nowhere and for no reason the drivers side A-pillar and door airbags deployed striking my left arm leaving a bruise and pushing me towards the center console. I contacted BMW of North America and spoke to a representative and was asked to deliver the vehicle to the nearest dealership so they can perform an investigation. At 1525 hrs April/11/2017 I contacted the representative at BMW, she told me that the sensors sensed an impact even though there is no recent physical damage to the undercarriage of my car. She then proceeded to tell me my cars suspension is worn out and couldve caused enough shock to set off my airbag.Instead of taking responsibility for an obvious manufacturer issue she then tried to blame it on age then changed back to a sensor recorded an impact. Then offered me $1500 to Help with repairs to my car in-house only. I need my car. Its how I get to work so I can take care of my family. I cant cover the existing amount of $3000 to cover the rest as quick as I need my car! BMW should pay for all the damages! Airbags should NEVER deploy without an accident! The car broke itself and tried to kill me in the process. Luckily I am 230 pounds and 61 tall. This couldve killed anyone smaller!!! Very scary and disappointing!

I own a 650I, bought it from BMW dealer, always had it serviced by BMW dealer. At around 80,000 miles after having repeated problems with transmission, I was told I needed a new transmission and it was not covered by warranty. Also was told I need engine rebuilt! And also out of warranty! This car cost over $100,000, what type of valve stem guides do they use that they wear out at such low miles, not to mention a transmission, both items last longer on a $30,000 Honda... How pathetic!I spoke with BMW North America. They refused to warranty the defective items, and if one would check the new engines in BMWs, they would find most are burning oil very prematurely because the new engine design is built with sub par parts... This is a car costing over $100,000.00. I am disgusted with this horrible excuse of a luxury vehicle and more so the haughty attitude of BMW. One more thing, the dealer I was using Checkered Flag is horrible. They returned my car after a service, 4 quarts low on oil. When I called them, they said the oil sensor was faulty, when actually it was their lazy and inept service approach. I have engaged the services of a lawyer on this one!

I own a certified BMW 335d. In June of 2015 the check engine light went on for the Diesel Exhaust Fluid Tank malfunctioning. This is a device that is needed to make the car USA emissions compliant. I was told by my dealer that the part was on back order for 2 weeks and to continue to drive the car. After 2 months I decided to call BMW Customer care to let them know I needed to register my car in California in October and it needed to pass a smog check. With the check engine light it will not pass, thus making my car fall out of registration. They told me they would help me. After numerous promised dates for the part to fix my car, they told me mine was on top priority and I would get the next one in from Germany. I spoke with my dealer and they told me that since my part was ordered, they received 5 at their dealership that went to other clients that were ahead of me on the list. Their cars did not have the same registration issue as mine, so the priority for those cars to get fixed should be lower. I was not told the truth by BMW of North America. The next one is plain and simple--the next one. BMW of North America is saying it is the field representative that is responsible for the dates and the dealer is telling me it is BMW N.A. Bottom line is they lied to me that I was on top priority and they are giving me the runaround. As of today I am stuck with a car I was told to drive that is now out of registration. Its really nice to make car payments that you cannot drive. BMW absolutely does not care about the customer and they are trained to give customers false answers. They are quite rude on the phone as well. They say I understand, when they really dont care and want to get you off the phone. The customer care department has no real information and they are just put there as a facade. It comes with great pain to say this as the cars themselves are really great cars, but DO NOT BUY A BMW. Great cars, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT.

Got a flat on tires designed to go 50 miles, but only got 5 miles before it was on the rim. Didnt know I didnt have a spare... never told me when leasing my 2014 X5. The nice lady on the roadside assistance call, said that she would send a tow truck to tow my car 60 miles (I would have to pay and be reimbursed by BMW) to the nearest dealer, but that unfortunately, since it was Sunday night and I was 150 miles from home, in the rain, that I would have to find a place to stay. Again at my expense, and find a way to get to that dealer, 60 miles away and get my car back on Monday sometime.... I didnt, called friends who came and fixed the flat. Then on Monday BMW said sorry for your inconvenience, expense and disappointment.... but thats the way it is, and the expense of the tire, rim, and service was mine... since I didnt have insurance. THIS IS MY 4th BMW (all had spares). THIS IS MY LAST BMW.

I am writing in regards to a failure by BMW to honor their warranty for my Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (SULEV). I first purchased my 2003 BMW 325is (SULEV) with approximately 116,000 miles on the vehicle. As with any used car, I was sure to do my research before committing to buy. I was aware it contained a M56 engine rather than a M54, as well as the fact it utilized a considerably expensive stainless-steel fuel tank opposed to the plastic one found in a regular e46 in accordance to its emission minimization. I also noticed that stated clearly in the Service & Warranty booklet, the car was still under a specific California Emissions Warranty which, If any emission related part on your vehicle is defective, the part will be repaired or replaced by BMW NA. This is your emission control system defects warranty... for 15 years or 150,000 miles whichever occurs first. Considering that emissions related parts would be covered for another 34,000 miles, the car ran like brand new, and it was a beautifully spotless silver e46. For $6,500, I could not resist nor did I have anything to fear. How ignorant I was. The car performed flawlessly with no problems until it reached about 125,000 miles when suddenly, out of the blue, the car would not start. I had my trusted mechanic inspect the car and he informed me that the problem was a failed fuel pump, which could not be replaced without replacing the entire fuel tank, reason being that they are in actuality attached as a single part.Recalling that this is under the specific emissions warranty, I had the car diagnosed at my local dealer, Life Quality BMW located in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. It was confirmed that the problem was in fact a fuel pump failure, and that the entire fuel tank would require replacement. I was quoted approximately $11,500 including parts, labor, and taxes. I informed the sales associate that I am not liable for such a repair, and that this particular part is under a 150,000/15-year warranty. He chuckled to himself and stated no such warranty exists. He had never heard of such a claim, and even went as far as consulting his manager, Nick **, to be completely certain. I informed him I would return with valid proof, as well as have BMW USA contact the dealership directly. With a grin he replied, Good luck. I hope you find the answers youre looking for. I phoned BMW USA where a customer relations representative confirmed my car was in fact under warranty, and that he would contact the manager of the dealership. I then returned to the dealership, Service & Warranty booklet in hand, and requested to speak to the service manager, Robert **. At first, he printed out the quote for repairs and ensured me that my car was not under warranty. After showing him page 38 of the 325is service and warranty booklet available publicly on BMW USAs own website, he seemed to suddenly experience a magical awakening and did not continue to insist that the warranty was construed by my imagination. Instead, after consulting the manager, Mr. **, he claimed the dealership has no problem performing the service under warranty as long as they have direct written consent from BMW USA. Although someone had contacted the dealership previously, Mr. ** denied that this ever happened. I stepped outside and contacted BMW USA on the spot, and had a representative contact the dealership. The representative informed me that he did get in contact with Nick **, who stated he would have research done to make sure the car was actually under warranty, where then they would contact me directly. I received a phone call two days later informing me the car is not under warranty and I will be charged $50 a day for storage fees if I do not pay for the service.I have now been somewhat blackmailed. My car has now been at this dealership for approximately 2 weeks, and I have contacted BMW USA as well as the dealership that both persist to regard one another as a higher power capable of making the decision on my car. When I attempted to contact BMW USA, they now informed me that my case is under investigation. I have run out of patience and am extremely frustrated with the disorganized, dilettante service I have experienced. This dishonesty is the exact reason laws such as the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 are in existence and the exact reason I have decided to put this matter in the hands of the Supreme Court. I have taken steps to initiate legal action against both BMW USA as well as my local dealer, Nick **. I do not feel I should be punished for driving an environmentally friendly vehicle.

My battery needed to be replaced and to my surprise the dealer installed an Exide brand battery on 20 Feb 2013 and I was told it has 4 years Warranty. I believe that is not proper or even BMW policy to replaced BMW factory built battery with Exide brand battery. Now the battery is discharging and needed to be replaced and the dealer claim that it is out of Warranty because he only give 4 years Warranty on a new cars, and 2 years Warranty on old cars. My car is 2006 BMW 750li. I will no longer do business with (BMW Katy - Texas dealer). Please advise on how to solve this matter? or give any suggestion about an Exide brand battery service center to honors my Warranty in Houston.

I am the sole owner of a 2007 BMW X-3. I have had my car serviced at South BMW in Miami, FL. I have owned this car continuously since 2007. I was to be a loyal BMW owner until a recent discovery. The right rear motor mount bracket screws (the four bolts broke off), the engine is not sitting properly and the transmission is making a discernible noise. I only drive on city streets and highways. I am not an off-road driver and this vehicle has not been involved in any type of accident. The BMW warranty covered my vehicle to 50,000 miles. I did not purchase the extended warranty (maintenance warranty offered by the dealership) as it covered nothing. I am afraid that the engine will fall out of the vehicle, causing bodily injury or maybe even a fatality. I noticed that you already have one complaint about this same issue. Please help me. I am not asking for you to replace my vehicle, just fix it to where I can drive it again without fear.

I purchased a BMW 323i on 19, January 2012, chassis no. **, customer order no. ** from Auto Bavaria at 3A Persiaran Kerjaya, Seksyen U1, Glenmarie, 40150, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. After using the car for about a month, with a mileage of 1,600 km, I observed a bulge on the tire (continental run flat). After sending and requesting for a change of tire on many occasions, my request was denied.BMW cited external factors for the tire bulge, thus declining my request for a new tire. My claim was that the car is still under warranty; BMW staff even agreed that this is a common problem with this kind of tire. If so, why supply such tires for my car? Even if there was an external factor (as claimed by BMW), it must have been minimal as there is no dent on the rim or the body. If the tire can’t withstand a small impact (if any), it must be a sub standard tire. Thus, I request for a new high quality tire for the car. Please advise, thank you.

My 2007 325i floods on the rear seat floor. My 2002 528 did the same thing. This is a flaw that BMW needs to address. My 2007 325i battery died. BMW has it set up where one cannot buy an after market battery because they cannot be registered to the car, which prevents the car from realizing a new battery was installed and all of the warning lights flash on the dashboard.Im still searching for how the water is entering the car. I have looked at all drains, window seals and the padding in the door. I spent $350-plus to have my battery replaced and registered to the car.
