Review: Mercedes Vision EQXX is a benchmark for future EVs and it’s fun to drive
Posted On: July 24, 2022
If you follow Formula E—or any kind of motor racing, really—you know that behind the drivers, teams, and cars that win the races, telemetry is what drives everything.  Telemetry channels live data from a race car’s components to map energy in and energy out, velocity, and how driver inputs come into play—among many other potential pieces of information—at various points around a track. The information holds lessons for the driver, diagnostic tools for the car, and helps show the engineering team how to make the car better.  This past week, at Mercedes’ Immendingen proving grounds in Germany’s Black Forest region, I got a chance not just to drive the EQXX but to get a glimpse of the methodology the engineering team has been applying to this car. During my “drive evaluation” my driving-efficiency results were held up against those from an engineering benchmark.  Yes, this is the futuristic Vision EQXX, the most efficient car Mercedes-Benz has ever built. It covered 746 miles on a single charge in April, running from Stuttgart, Germany, to Silverstone, England, with extra distance to spare for some victory laps at the end.  Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX Prior to my run, I got to know the course with a run in a very special Mercedes EQB the team calls Emma—a nod and a wink to MMA, the platform for volume-production compact and mid-size EVs, arriving mid-decade—that all the information from EQXX is being fed into.  Although it simply looks like an EQB on the outside, Emma’s battery, engine, inverter, and cooling system are identical to what’s used in the EQXX, and since there is only one EQXX, Mercedes tests any small changes to the propulsion system here first. A lift of the hatch reveals that the back seat has been removed and replaced by a board full of sensors and components. Yes, things have broken and there have been incidents, but the one-off EQXX and the rest of its special materials and components have been kept safe.  Vision EQXX project manager Malte Sievers notes that this is the only rear-wheel-drive EQB because it had to match the EQXX’s layout. Single-motor production versions of the EQB (for Europe, not due to the U.S.) are front-wheel drive. Mercedes EQB with EQXX battery and drive systems - In the EQB, Mercedes engineers can stretch the range of the vehicle to more than 700 km (435 miles) of range with the ~100-kwh battery pack. Sievers says  that figure emphasizes the point that just having the best possible electric drivetrain isn’t enough.  The proving grounds are by no means flat or straight. The ribbon of road through a former tank-proving facility that offers a route that’s smoothly surfaced but includes various terrain changes, some roundabouts, and several speed zones ranging from 50 km/h to 100 km/h—with speeds enforced by vehicle monitoring. They watched us.  Over the 16-km (nearly 10-mile) loop, I averaged 12.1 kwh/100 km, or 5.1 miles/kwh, which is close to double the efficiency I saw in the EQB 300 I’d just driven.  Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXXMercedes-Benz Vision EQXXMercedes-Benz Vision EQXX Then it was time to get into the EQXX. Although technically a concept car, it feels entirely drivable and doesn’t have the brittle show-car feel I’ve noted from concepts in the past. I pulled the door strap made of Biosteel fiber, and the door made of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic and polyamide foam closed with a reassuring thunk. Then I adjusted the seat, upholstered in a mushroom-based vegan leather alternative and got quite comfortable in the EQXX—noteworthy as I’m a long-legged six-foot-six.  Driving the EQXX didn’t require learning a new interface; the switchgear and shifter stalk are in about the same places as in the EQB, while the haptic controls in the steering-wheel hub are merely a simplified new generation of the current layout. The most radical change was the super-long one-piece 47.5-inch display standing atop the entire low-set dash. Closer to the field of focus, with a more natural contrast level, I found it far easier on the eyes than the EQS’s Hyperscreen. We set out and heard the whine of the motor and whirr of the drive systems. Mercedes hasn’t put a lot of effort into NVH yet in this one-off—for obvious reasons—but it’s actually quite good. The body feels rigid, and the steering remarkably normal and communicative. The EQXX’s lower body is made of special low-CO2 recycled steel, and the entire rear portion of the EQXX is the largest aluminum structural casting done yet by Mercedes-Benz—with the damper domes cast in—but this futuristic pedigree doesn’t give itself away.  Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX One clue as to the car’s advanced design was the almost complete lack of wind noise. The EQXX cuts through the air with a remarkable 0.17 Cd. Its slim, specially developed Bridgestone Turanza Eco tires on 20-inch forged magnesium wheels don’t generate all that much road noise, either.  Little much else whirred underneath, either. The cabin is kept cool with a modern climate system driven partly from a 12-volt system that’s fed mostly by a rooftop solar panel. A “cooling on demand” approach down below funnels air past the air-cooled battery pack only when necessary, while a liquid-cooling system manages only the power electronics and motor. Mercedes says it can keep pack temperatures not much above ambient temperature, but it hasn’t detailed the cells inside the nearly 100-kwh pack quite yet.  I was encouraged to keep the EQXX’s powertrain within a 20- or 25-kw sweet spot, at which point the propulsion system works at its peak 95% cell-to-wheels efficiency. Over the course, my driving style was different. I recuperated more—1.62 kwh, versus 0.66 kwh for the test driver—suggesting they were simply smoother—and my average speed was slightly higher, at nearly 51 km/h vs 49 km/h. But looking at my results overlaid with theirs didn’t look as bad as I feared. Efficiency for EQXX drive I didn’t embarrass myself too badly. But while the Mercedes-Benz test driver to beat drove the route with an average consumption of 7.9 kwh/100 km, I used up electrons at a rate of 8.39 kwh/100 km—close but not quite as efficient. To compare, that’s 7.4 miles per kwh—about double what would be considered excellent efficiency in an EV today, and about 45% better than what I saw in Emma.  The exercise emphasized that in the cars of the future, designing the propulsion system around efficiency isn’t enough. That the real gains are to be made in focusing on the entire package.  Off the telemetry data record for the moment, I was then allowed to have a little fun—to tap into all of the EQXX’s 180-kw (241 hp). In a vehicle that weighs less than 3,900 lb, it’s plenty, and as I loaded up the G forces in a corner and was surprised how well the skinny tires held on, I was reminded that the center of mass in this model sits very low.  I walked away with a grin and handed off the EQXX to the next person, while my telemetry lay waiting. Even from a short sample behind the wheel, the EQXX sends a strong message: that applying all the technology possible and making the most of the energy available—as shown by racing—doesn’t have to be drudgery. It can be the fun part.  -- Mercedes-Benz covered travel, accommodation, and some meals for Motor Authority to bring you this firsthand report.

2014 Mercedes S550 4Matic - Humming noise between 50-60 MPH. Ray Catena of Edison, NJ kept my car for 4 days trying to figure out what the issue is. They said they contacted Mercedes and said Mercedes is aware of this issue. I will be contacted when there is a fix. I said can you put a date on the fix, they said NO. What am I suppose to wait 5 years for a fix? Dealer said to contact Mercedes customer service and be a Pain in the butt and see if they will declare my car as a lemon - well that didnt work. Mercedes contacted dealer and dealer said, they have duplicated this same issue in several other S550 and that it is a part of 4Matic system. Bottom line: Getting rid of Mercedes and never buying it AGAIN in my life. Stay away from THIS BRAND.

You all have a little problem. You dont have a lawyer to fight for you. The only way Mercedes Benz understands you are serious about it is when you are filing the lawsuit. Listen, if you think you can win, spend the money and file your complaint with the courts and then send the outcome to the New York Times. They love to hear about the fights of the little people versus the big bears. Youll be amazed how quickly the office of Ralph **, VP of Customer Care at Mercedes Benz USA in Montvale, NJ call you back. If he doesnt, hire a big rat and put them in front of their office. I would assure you lots of fun doing this. Either they quit or they will make better cars. Remember, it is all a little game.

Mercerdes 2012 GL450 - I had to replace the Continental Tires with less than 24,000. I found out the MFG doesnt even have a tread warranty for these tires. These are the cheapest tires available for this vehicle. Mercedes put my family in danger with these garbage tires and I will never purchases another Mercedes again. I have never in 31 years of driving have I had to replace tires that were totally shot with 24,000 miles on them. The dealership and corp said this is normal tread life!!!! We have always had Lexus in the past and Mercedes is not even close to the quality. Dont buy a Mercedes with these junk tires on them if you like your family.

My wife recently exited our C300 MB to come back into our home. She came back to the car only to find it had driven off down our hill, thru our brick pony wall and finally thru our neighbors boulder ditch. 7 weeks later, the insurance company totaled the car. In the meantime we have been complaining numerous times to MB head office over the fact that the car has always exhibited a safety feature in which it shifts into park automatically whenever, and every time, the door is opened. The one time we needed it to, it didnt. Failed completely and now we have lost our car. What really is disappointing is the fact that MB USA has completely ignored this and frankly if this safety feature doesnt perform, then the next time the car runs away on someone, the results could be more tragic than it was this time. Shame shame shame on MB for caring so little to even address this with us.

I have a 2011 amg c63 mercedez with very low miles. I hardly drive the car and is always in the garage. The paint has massive chips in the hood from small rocks on the roads. My battery keeps dying every morning & I think is why killed my radio command unit. After 3rd battery replacement, I had it towed. The SUV is sitting with Mercedes of Walnut Creek for last 5 days & no one is returning calls, maybe because they dont know whats wrong with their SUV? & are avoiding me. In the meantime, I have to rent a car to get to work.

First off, Ive always been an advocate for Mercedes Benz having owned 2015 c class, but I have to say Im utterly disappointed with the recent service by Benz hence the 2 star which should be a 1. Im currently driving a 2019 A220 sedan which if it drives normally, is an absolute breeze. Unfortunately, Ive not had that pleasure of driving without a problem. From inherent breakdowns, to various warning lights turning on. There was a recent recall for this vehicle, mind you, but after the recall I’ve had countless visits to the MB repair shop, Im still having the same issues. My mileage is just 16,000. I am truly sad right now and feel let down by MB. I would surely reconsider my commitment to your brand.

The tire had a nail in it. A normal tire could have been repaired, however this tire had to be replaced at over $200 for a 17 tire with only 6000 miles on it. Imagine if I got stuck out in the desert going to California with no cell service and no cell service to call roadside service. At least if the cars come with run flat tires, all should come with a spare and a jack. Nothing at all is unacceptable and dangerous.

I bought the car when it had half a tank of fuel in it but when you fill it up is stinks of gasoline. If you go online searching for this problem there are a lot of complaints regarding this situation but Mercedes chooses to ignore it! No recalls! Just expensive fixes! This is the 2nd piece of crap Mercedes I’ve had the misfortune to own.

I bought my 2010 E550 only 5 months ago with less than 23K miles. Since I have the car, I have been not less than 6 times in the dealer shop for repairs. Today, I had to call the road service as the car didnt turn on at all, I have been told by the gentleman that showed up that there is an electric element killing the battery and I have to bring the car for service again. The first 6 times I have been in the shop is because the volume in the media system stops working, I turn on the car and randomly the volume on the radio would turn on. If the volume doesnt come, I will have no Bluetooth system, no volume on the navigation system, any music, etc. They have changed the radio, the amplifiers, the Sat. unit, but still the problem is there. I am probably too fuzzy to want to have music while I am driving my beautiful car and I also want to have the navigation system to give me instructions when I need guidance. The problem is not just the non-existing volume on the media system once in a while; the real hazard here is that when the volume comes back randomly, it does so at the loudest possible. This is a very serious problem because that very loud volume may scare you while you are driving. It can really cause an accident. I have been told that the problem is the BlackBerry attached to the Bluetooth system but I no longer have the BlackBerry with me and the problem is still present. I believe there is another problem in the car and they cant figure it out. I would like to know if anybody else is having such a problem while driving an E-Series or is it just my moody car. I think if they cant fix the problem, they should get the cars out of the road. It is a very serious problem.

I have had numerous flat tires with my S550 (6) and now my 2014 E500 (5). I live in Westchester, NY. I know that the roads in the Northeast during the winter have numerous defects/potholes which can cause problems with tires. However, the low performance tires on such cars as those listed above become flat without going over deep road defects. Essentially, these tires are not safe to ride on the roads during the winter in this area. I have gone with Mercedes because of safety reasons. However, after my past and recent experiences I do not feel comfortable/safe driving my car at the present time. To pay $1500 a month and have to keep my car in my garage seems to me criminal.

I live in NH, purchased 2017 GLC 300 in the Spring and was told I would need winter tires (which I always need on my SUVs). Salesperson did not tell me I wouldnt be able to get snow tires for this car. The tires are run flats and the size is a rare run fast snow tire size. MB USA told me I could purchase regular snow tires, but then I would have to purchase a new wheel and tire for a spare at the cost of over $700 just for the spare! Even if I wanted to buy a spare, the car is designed for run flat tires only and there is no place to store the tire and no jack, etc. I told MB that I refuse to buy 5 regular snow tires, and lug the smelly spare around in the back of my car. Additionally, it would take up all the space that I use for luggage, groceries, etc. I am insisting on returning the car. I spent a lot of time considering a new SUV, and would have immediately taken the GLC 300 off the list if I had been informed of this situation. So, here I am in NH, living on a steep dirt road without snow tires.

Purchased my 2014 C300 a week ago. Has 10,000 miles. Traded in my 2011 C300 with 75k miles. Had 2 other previous Mercedes also, 2002, 2009. All had approx 75k miles when traded and NEVER an issue with previous 3 cars. 2014 has the ECO start/stop feature which if you research is not a FEATURE but a problem. Roadside Assistance tech who came out yesterday to try to assist me was floored when he could not even jump start it as he believed the starter was gone. He called Tow company, who also could not jump and gave same opinion, crazy that the starter could be gone! The ECO start/stop is believed to be the cause and if you read other problems it does a number on the wear of a battery and starter due to the excessive starting and stopping compared to vehicles without this!!! VERY IRATE AND DISAPPOINTED out of my new car for 2 days and everyone is sorry for my inconvenience.

The best or nothing isn’t that your motto? That is precisely the reason why I bought a Mercedes.A couple of months later I was looking forward to taking the car on our annual Penn State football trip. Everything went well on the way up but on the way home while I was traveling at 60 mph, I heard a loud bang. At first I was all over the road and there was a moment when I didnt think I was going to regain control of the car but I did, and pulled off to the side of the road. Not a good ending to the family trip. Thinking it was a flat, I was preparing to change a tire and then noticed that the tire was fine. Four and a half hours from home in the middle of nowhere and I had no idea was had just happened. After an hour or so, the car was towed to a Lexus dealer in Louistown, PA.Since the owner of the Lexus also owned an MB dealership, I assumed they would be able to fix it. I finally got a rental car and was home about 7:30pm on Sunday night. The people at the dealership called me at 8:15 in the morning and were very nice and sympathetic. They indicated that a spring broke and that it broke the axle boot. How is it that a spring breaks on a car with 42k miles?Unfortunately, they were unable to fix the car but set me up with a contact person at Mercedes Benz of State College and even called there to let them know my car was coming. It took about a day to get the car to MB of State College and that is when my experience changed for the worst.I found out that my third party warranty doesnt cover springs but covers everything else that was broken, but because it was a cause and effect they will not cover anything. By the way I was still two days without my car and more than 300 miles away from my car. I have owned a lot of cars and not one of them ever had a spring break. I was curious to know if this was perhaps a recall or something so I called MB of North America. On Tuesday at 4pm, I spoke with a great guy who took my info down and said I should hear back from someone in 24 hrs. The next morning, I called MB dealership of State College at around 10am and spoke with Brian who told me that MB of North America was paying for everything and they will pay to replace the other spring as well because that is the right thing to do. I was very happy and proud once again that I purchased the car. I thought; wow a company that stands by its product. On Friday, I called Brian to make sure that the car was going to be ready. He asked me if I have spoken with a Lindsay ** (Case Manager) from MB of North America. I had not, and asked why. Two hours before I was leaving for a 4-hour drive to pick up my car that I thought was repaired and the expenses were paid for, he indicated that Lindsay was confused and that they should not have said that they were going to pay for it. At the end of the day, the individuals at MB dealership of State College took it upon themselves to determine that if the car was certified before I purchased it they would get MB of North America to pay for the repairs. I was under the impression that my complaint got MB of North America to pick up the tab but I was wrong. Lindsay realized their mistake and what was going on and quickly offered me a credit of $400 to any MB dealer and that it will not expire. She sent me an email which said to contact her 1 week before to make an appointment. That was nice but Im still out $1,000 for the car repairs as well as a couple of hundred for rental cars. All of this due to a spring breaking on a Mercedes Benz with only 42,000 miles.

My wife has a 2008 R-Class Mercedes with the BlueTech diesel engine. The BlueTech engine has been a recurring nightmare. The cars engine warning light continues to come on, which often (though not always) signals some big problems with the car.The service guy at CalStar Motors Mercedes in Glendale, CA just told her today (the 5th day the car has been in the shop this time) that they cannot figure out what is the cause of the problem. They have (again) replaced the engine sensor, but said, We can give you no assurance that the problem wont occur again, given that we don’t know what is wrong. We have also taken the car to Rusnak Mercedes Benz in Pasadena and Downtown LA Motors Mercedes Benz. I think I will find a lemon lawyer. Do you have any suggestions? Please email me at **@gmail.com.

I have 1998 CLK 230 Kompressor which I have been enjoying without any problems whatsoever. In one of my routine maintenance schedule, the service mechanic required the car manual for reference which I gave him. A couple of days when I required it, I was told he lost it along side other documents. Of course, there was nothing I could do about it. Recently, the battery ran down, thereby locking the trunk without access to the battery in the trunk for jump-starting. I was able to start it much later. However, due to the run-down battery, I could not play my radio/cassette/CD due to code requirements (I didnt know it was coded). I have not played music for over 2 months and this is choking me up. What options have I got? Any answer or opinion?

We bought a 2021 Mercedes Sprinter RV and my one concern is that the cassis was Mercedes. About 8 months of owning this something is wrong with the turbo, dropped this off at Mercedes Melbourne FL after making an appointment 3 weeks out and this still has not been looked after 5 weeks now. Do your homework on service centers prior to buying, in Central FL there are only 3 service centers for sprinter. Go with a ford or Ram for an rv cassis they have hundreds of services centers!

GL450 2011, white & tan leather: I purchased this car one year ago from
GL450 2011, white & tan leather: I purchased this car one year ago from North Olmsted in Ohio. It has many upgrades, like leather, woods, steering wheel, unlock handles, running boards, hitch, upgraded rims and tires, BUT no rear heat controls...etc. Lets start here: When It was delivered to my home, the engine was running really hard, sounding like a1980 diesel gone bad. I took it in and they said it was fine & was suppose to sound that way, & will be driving it back to me tomorrow. The next day another service manager was working & calked me saying I was having engine problems, & did I know that?... I said yes thats why its there. Subsequently the engine was completely replace due to the cylinder walls being scorched. Wow!! Good thing the other manager was off that day! Oh and I need to mention too, when the dealership delivered it the first day, they tried to pull a fast one on me! They took my rims and tires off, gave them to another customer, & didnt ask or tell me. I called them out on it, and their excuse was it will ride better for you, lol! They replaced them again but with old rims and somewhat new tires! Whatever. Now with the heat issue; It does have the two fans. However they will only blow when the front passenger has it set at 72 or lower Im told. Ok, then why arent they working but 10% of the time. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to operate this car. So they said the fans were disconnected by the previous owner.? What? Ok. So then they said again about the front passenger needing to have their temp set at 72 or lower for them to operate....Nope...Sorry, no they dont work properly. I have a severely disabled child whom cannot tell me if hes cold or hot or not, and the rear heat that barely blows under the seat hardly works, & gets blocked if anything falls on the floor. Kids drop things. Now Im trying out the mbrace security system. Its not compatible to my car due to the model & the electronic programming done by the dealer, I was told by the technical mbrace operated. She said take it in at no charge & dont take it home until they fix it. Most likely Ill be taking home not fixed, after how Ive been treated with issues thus far. If you dont buy new, then scat! Telling me to trade for a new one every time! Is there any after market equipment that I can add to this issue not being fixed by the dealer? I realize this will ruin my warranty, but this is a significant issue that needs fixed one way or another. Please give me any advice you may have.

I have a 2 year old, C class AMG, still under MB warrantry. When bought from a non franchised MB dealer which had 4,500 on the clock when bought - It now has 7,800 on the clock. In that time the front discs have been changed once at 6,000 miles and are now due for change again. With a different issue. For the first week or two, the brakes were perfect. Then I could feel the brake pedal was pulsing. After a new set of MB discs. Current issue with these, is horrendous vibration on the car all over the car at minimum braking. (Anything above 20mph). Hard braking, the vibration disappears until you start easing off on the brakes. Or, you get below 20mph.3 weeks ago, it was booked into, first MB (Solihull) dealership, on latest discs changed at 5,500 roughly and car was showing 7,000. Lucas over the phone called me and said front discs are warped. Told him not correct (or words to that effect.) Cant be, its had new MB discs. He told me. In which case take it back to the (non) franchise dealer you bought it from and get them to repair it... which I was not happy with it the slightest. So, I talked to the manager of the dealership and he pacified me by saying, its a known issue, when bolting the wheels up to the hub (Basically fed me **, it turns out). So, two weeks ago, took it to an independent garage. After telling them the issues. They said instead of just slapping new discs on. They would check everything. So, they clocked the wheels to the hub. Both fronts running true. Then clocked the front hubs. Drivers side was running out 0.005 though. Passenger side was running bang on. (So, MB Solihull were wrong, and were effectively going to fit new discs to a hub that was out?)At that point Id decided never to use MB Solihull again. Due to Lucas telling me to take the car back to the dealers Id bought it from over the phone and an incorrect fault diagnosis. I think they were more interested in carrying out the software update to the powertrain module, than sorting out the issue I had with the brakes (Probably never even took the wheels off. Just drove the car. Experienced the vibration and fed me, what is in the customers handbook). Lucas said he would e-mail me the report. Needless to say, that never happened. Yesterday the non-franchised dealers I bought it from, had it booked it into 2nd different MB (Coventry) garage. I though to cure the problem. The dealer told MB Coventry, everything wed learned from the independent garage.I phoned MB Coventry at 2.30pm and was eventually told that theyd found the problem. It was rust on the hub and you have a broken bearing. So youve cured the problem? No. Weve not been told to cure it. And started to talk about corrosion on the mating faces. etc. Straight out of your How to get out of sorting a known issue handbook. (I was not polite, as by then Id realised that I would be driving this heap of scrap on the motorway for another week).Got off the phone and phoned up the garage who stripped the car down last week. They said no signs of rust on the hub. Then phoned the dealer and apparently MB had quoted for Two hubs. Even though one hub was running true... not sure what else they quoted for. Just knew they were trying to rip me off. I then went to the Coventry branch to pick the car up and discuss with the manager, the issues I have. He shows me pics of the hub and shows pics of the broken bearing. So, incredulously I say to him, youve stripped a car down and put it back together again with a broken front hub bearing, and are going to hand that car over to me? (Basically called him a liar as I didnt believe the hub he was showing me, was mine (Even if it was. The implications of giving a car back to a customer with a fault such as that, doesnt bear thinking about). He talked to me, out by the car and went all over the wheels looking for any signs of bangs or refurbishment, even suggested the wheels werent the originals... While he was doing this, I noticed that the outside areas of the wheels, were still covered in brake dust. So, voiced my doubts that theyd even taken the wheels off, at all. He persuaded me they had, as the wheel nut areas you could see no brake dust. Which brings me to the question that if MBs wheels/hubs, etc. are so critical on their mating faces that they need to be spotlessly clean. Surely the very first thing MB should do, before removing the wheels, is to remove any brake dust on the outside? So, when bolting up the wheels, Your not compounding the problem?(The car is vibrating all over the place. A bit more brake dust isnt going to make that much difference). The manager also blamed refurbished wheels? Everything basically that was not covered, by the MB manufacturing warranty. I then said, there is no way I would ever, take a car of mine to MB for anything and I wouldnt trust their mechanics to put my great grand daughters Lego together if their latest diagnosis on my car is to be believed. I will never buy an MB again, as they obviously have a serious design defect, that needs addressing, if the brake discs are that fragile. Manager agreed by looking sheepish, if that makes sense. My perception of MB is that they like scaring people into throwing their money away. Total whitewash with respect to my customers complaint. Obviously couldnt give a damn about their (ex) customers. More interested in trying to screw as much money out of gullible customers as they can. Clearly a good business model. But one ex-customer isnt going to make a difference.

I received a safety recall notice from Mercedes in March 2017 stating that under certain conditions a very high electric current can flow through the starting current limiter causing it to overheat. This can defect can result in fire. As of today, July 13, 2017, Mercedes told me it has no idea when the parts will be available to correct the problem. The recall affects a number of Mercedes models manufactured between 2015-2017. Mercedes has a particularly torturous telephone system. When I finally spoke to a customer service representative it was clear that he could not have cared less. Meanwhile, I have a car that is greatly diminished in value in my opinion. We have purchased approximately 10 Mercedes in the last 15 years, including 2 within the last 2 years. We will not be purchasing any more. I called to file a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. I thought they might be able to help or have additional information. The woman barely spoke English and kept telling me my VIN number was not in their system. She finally put me on hold for about 5 minutes and amazing she found the VIN. She was equally incompetent at providing any information or in telling me what her agency would do. I asked if someone would call or email me. No way - government workers are not there to serve you apparently. Close down this worthless agency.

My name is Sibongile **, I have a serious concern Mercedes Benz Constantia Kloof Roodepoort, Gauteng. Firstly: I brought A class 160 classic Mercedes Benz only for fixing of the starter, they made a quotation and we agreed on the price which was R15 177.10 and I paid the deposit of R10 000. Surprisingly when I call them to make follow up, Ive been told that the car is losing power. They assume that the problem is on the petrol pump which need to be replaced. Again, they did second quote of R24 583.30. When I went to collect the car, there was another fault of sensor which need to be replaced. Again, the price went up to R32 797.50. The mechanic Jan told me that when they test drive the car the car loses the power again.I called them to find out if the car is okay but they asked me to come to the workshop they want to show me something, they told me that there is other faults in the car that involved ABS or Computer box, the car still giving them same problem of the power. Firstly Mercedes refused to diagnose the car and find all the problems in the car, they do it one by one which I dont understand. Before fixing my car they were supposed to give me the full diagnosis report because there are the specialists but they failed to do so, they told me that the mechanic does not allow that. They are using assumptions all the time. I am frustrated and running short of cash. I might lose my car, even now the car is still with them. Please intervene on the matter. I am so frustrated and running out of cash.

Omg. Where do I begin. I had issues maybe 20 minutes after leaving the lot, and issues ever since. Car has been in the shop every month for the mere 2 months Ive had it. Asked for refund day 1 when I had an issue, and told they have a replacement plan. Bogus. Lies. Fraud. Deceit. Car in shop 21 days this last time... 21 days. Please tell me why a CPO vehicle still well under original warranty according to miles would need a new transmission-even if youd had it a year. Two or so months and new transmission dont add up. Even the service tech who worked on it said theres no way this car could have been inspected or passed inspection. Brakes, rotors, transmission, speakers, window motor guide, blower motor, steering wheel, and a bunch of other stuff. Are you kidding me?. Two or so months and all of this? Feel free to reach out to me. The selling dealership has done absolutely nothing... nothing... they act like its a big cover up or something.

The Mercedes GLC 300 4matic has more luxury features than any other vehicle
The Mercedes GLC 300 4matic has more luxury features than any other vehicle I researched and test drove. The surround cameras make it easy to park. It has all surround cameras, heated seats, and a comfortable ride that is adjustable to a more sporty mode. I like the seats better than the stiff seats of other makes. The auto hold feature makes it easy to brake and not have to worry about the vehicle moving. The automatic wipers make it easier to drive without having to worry about manually operating them. However, I would like to have air conditioned seats. I would also like for it to have a heated steering wheel since my hands are cold often. Also, Im worried about not having a spare tire even though it has run flat tires. Run flat tires tend to last much less longer than normal tires.

The bumper of my new 2017 E Class fell off after barely touching a parking bumper like you find in many parking lots. The bumper does not even have a scratch on it. The dealer says that this is common and they fall off all the time!!? Mercedes Corporate will only definitely understand how I feel. How can a force small enough to not even scratch the paint on a bumper make the bumper fall off?! To add insult to injury, the bumper is not in stock, and I will have to wait a few weeks to get the car repaired. Definitely my last Mercedes. $2600 to repair, and no end in sight.

I have solid proof that my Mercedes was illegally tampered with by one of the dealerships in my hometown. I can prove that the dealership set me up to have my car malfunction and killed the battery to 4.2 volts, leaving me with a dead car that same day. The following day (if I had not been fortunate enough to have my engineer buddies jump my car for me), the dealer would have had a window of opportunity to charge me with repairs that were unnecessary. There are records that I can indicate that my car was still in good condition after my car was charged by up. There are many details and facts that I would be gladly present to all who wants listen.

As of May 24, 2016, I spoke with the General Manager, Dan **, several times this week, at the St. George, Utah, Mercedes-Benz Dealership. He was professional and promptly investigated my complaints and concerns. Dan stayed in constant communication with me. Upon completion of his investigating the facts; he determined that since his organization diagnosed the problem on my vehicle incorrectly, that he would in his words, make it right, and honor the initial estimate and make the repairs on my vehicle accordingly at no additional charge to me. He ordered the additional parts and apologized for any inconvenience this ordeal has caused me and my family. At this point, I am very satisfied with the outcome and looking forward to picking up my vehicle by Saturday. It is refreshing to me to see that good leadership does still exist in business today. As a consumer, it is very important to give the decision makers and people in positions to affect outcomes an opportunity to solve the problem. Sometimes, things are not as they appear on both sides of a disagreement. I would like to thank Dan and his Service Department Team at Mercedes-Benz of Saint George, Utah, for again making me a satisfied customer. I would recommend this organization to all potential car buyers, my friends, and family, without reservation. This dealership has impeccable integrity and will go above and beyond to satisfy their customers. Respectfully submitted, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Pete Webster.

It is a shame. I was disappointed by the big house, Mercedes. I bought a Mercedes C180 from Mercedes Paris Longchamp for export on January 21, 2013. After a few km., it showed topping liquid refroid.cf. manuals. I contacted the seller and he told me, Sorry, we did all the diagnostics and forgot to add water. Weve added it and you will be okay. I thought of his words because he works for the big house, Mercedes. I made my way to Marseilles to take my boat, but even after 40 km. the message still appeared. I continued on my way by adding water at each stop, with stress and panic. When I arrived in Tunisia, I went straight to the house nearest Mercedes, Av Grand Maghreb Nabeul 8000. They informed me that the problem was with a seal, but whats worse was when he told me that this is a defect with the Mercedes C180 and they did not have the seal in Tunisia. I contacted the seller and sent the attached reference but he sent me another one with another reference. This is not normal at all from a big house and your staff. Im disappointed with everything around me and my family because the car is in the garage. I worked hard to have a nice car and go home, but Mercedes deceived me and betrayed me. Why? I did not want to buy elsewhere to be sure of the quality and the seller told me that the car is almost new. Sorry, but I do not have confidence in your company as my car is in the garage and I cannot use it. Every day, I am forced to use public transportation. I regret having chosen the Mercedes. I know that 20,000 Euros (the price of my car) is worth nothing to you, but for me, it was all of my money. I spent one year in an unstable country - away from my family - to have it, and I did not want to buy a new car from another brand because we were fans of the Mercedes. I did not want to buy from an unknown dealer. I chose the house because I trusted in this house and its staff. Now, I hate it, and I will tell my case to all people with Facebook, Twitter, and the web because I wrote a lot of messages to Mercedes but they dont care about us.

I am having a dispute with my dealers service. I had my r350 towed on a flat bed by a contracted towing service provided by Mercedes-Benz roadside assistance due to a flat tire that had recently been plugged. Luckily, the car was been driven in town at a slow speed and not at highway speeds with my children in the car!Extensive damage was caused to the under carriage and to the BlueTEC line because of this tow. I havent been with my vehicle or even an offer of a loaner vehicle, since Aug 31, 2011. Neither the dealer nor the towing company are taking any responsibility for the damage. I have finally directed the dealer to just repair the bare minimum so the vehicle may be driven. This experience has tainted my trust in Mercedes-Benz. I have every intention of disposing of both my wifes r350 BlueTEC as well as my E63 AMG. These two vehicles are my 5th and 6th purchases of Mercedes-Benz products. You can rest assured that they will be my last. If your are interested in salvaging a once loyal customer, I would be happy to discuss the details further.

Im one of the unfortunate people that purchased not one but two vehicles that fell into the terrible HVAC issue (2015-2018). I had a 2015 GLK and now have a 2018 GLE. Both have the known issue of the horrible vinegar, mildew smell that comes out of the AC every single time you turn it on. There was a class action lawsuit that required them to fix this issue, but they find loopholes and of course their technicians cannot explain why my car isnt covered, even though my VIN clearly shows that it should be covered. After Dec 2020 you were supposed to be able to go into a dealership and have the problem fixed.I took my car to the dealership in Pleasanton, CA, the service coordinator confirmed the smell immediately. After looking at the car she called to say the tech also identified immediately but then went on to say it wasnt covered... but couldnt explain why. After she had told me that they had in fact fixed several vehicles with the same issue a few months prior... my EXACT model and year.I contact Mercedes Benz USA. After reviewing my complaint they offered a goodwill credit of $300... towards a $613 repair. They said they considered customer loyal, the age of the car, service, etc. So Im not sure why I didnt fall under that umbrella... Ive had 2 MBs, I sent over all service records, my car only has 50k miles... and I worked for Mercedes in my 20s in the SERVICE department filing claims. I am the definition of customer loyalty. This is just a slap in the face. It took me over 20 years to finally buy my first Mercedes (I had wanted one since working at the dealership) and its an accomplishment, I should be proud of my vehicle. But Im embarrassed to have people ride in it. This is supposed to be a luxury vehicle and it smells rancid.I am so disappointed that they would rather lose a customer and their reputation over a few hundred dollars. They clearly do not stand by their product or their customer service relationships. I would completely understand if this was just MY car but it affected over 2 million cars and covered 3 years... I ended up with 2 of them and I cant even get one of them fixed. Needless to say Im done, its just the principle of bad business, I dont believe in it. I support those that support me. I feel cheated.

It is my duty as a member of my community to issue this public service announcement. Please read and think carefully before buying or leasing any Mercedes vehicles. My wife had always dreamed of driving a Mercedes. After months of shopping around for the best model, I finally surprised her with an E350 in November 2013. Unfortunately, within one month a bubble was formed on the front passenger tire and it ended up popping while I was driving 30mph on a date night with my wife. I brought it into Mercedes to be serviced and I was assured that this does not happen often, so they replaced it for free. After this first incident, I was a bit wary but still was optimistic that her car was safe to drive.About a month later, my wife was driving alone late in the evening on her way to a class when she hit a minor pothole and both her front tires popped. My wife immediately panicked, because she was stuck in New Rochelle, pulled off to a road late at night and had to wait two hours in the cold for a tow truck to come. During this long wait, she noticed hundreds of cars driving over the same road that were not affected. This was the last time she ever drove this car alone.Through the spring, I continued to notice bubbles appearing on the tires. In March of 2014, there was a bubble on the front and rear passenger sides of my car, which both had to be replaced. This brought the count up to 5 tires in 4 months. By April, there was another bubble on the front passenger which brought the count up to 6, so 6 new tires within 5 months. Im 52 years old, and have driven over a dozen cars in my lifetime and I have never experienced anything like this. Every time I would bring my car into Mercedes I was told that my car was safe and this shouldnt happen again. In September of 2014, around 9 months into my Mercedes experience there was yet another bubble forming on the front passenger side of my car. As usual, I brought my car in to be serviced and they assured me that this would not happen again. I was skeptic, but I needed a car to get to work, so I continued to drive the E350, which had become my car after my wifes traumatic experience with it.The winter was a long, brutal one so I tried to avoid driving the Mercedes as much as I could. Once the snow cleared up, I started to drive it more regularly and of course in the second week of March, I noticed a bubble on both the front and rear passenger sides of the car. Ive become an expert on these situations, so as per usual, I brought it into Mercedes to be serviced. Less than a week later, I was with my wife, and her friend who has a newborn child when the car hit a pothole on the freeway. The front passenger tire popped, and the three other tires had bubbles that had to be replaced. We had to sit on the highway, with a newborn child and wait 40 minutes for a tow truck to come and rescue us from this madness. During this 40 minutes, with the baby crying and my wife and her friend in fear that another car could crash into us as we waited on the highway, I observed that no other car had any issues driving over those potholes. My tire count was now 13 tires in16 months. 9 days later, I was driving home at night around 10PM and yet again another tire blew. Although Im young at heart, I can no longer deal with the stress and fear of driving this luxury car. I had previously owned or leased many different brands of luxury cars including Lexuss and Audis and I have never experienced anything like. After every one of these occurrences I called Mercedes and asked if there was any way I could get a new model car that wouldnt have this issue or end my lease short, and they continuously blew me off. After my 14th tire had to be replaced, I called Mercedes corporate to alert them of this issue and to my surprise they werent alarmed and didnt seem to think this was a serious issue. The regional manager I spoke to - **, who claims to not have a supervisor told me that the issue was with the roads, not with the car. Yet, when I asked him why this happened to me through every season and didnt seem to impact any other cars, he had nothing to say. So, please, think carefully before letting any of your loved ones or yourself drive one of these dangerous vehicles.

Mr. Mercedes: Shake your head or roll over in your grave. Our new 2018 C43
Mr. Mercedes: Shake your head or roll over in your grave. Our new 2018 C43 AMG my wifes car needed new all season tires. I went to the Queensway Toronto Canada location and bought the rims and new winter tires about $4000.00, Free storage of our original tires and the new all season installed. Early April rolled by and the weather was warmer time to change the tires, this is when it started like a ** show, my first appointment was today May 29th 2018, requested a pickup and leave a loaner vehicle. We live 2 km away. Abruptly was told NO DON’T OFFER THAT SERVICE”. Went there for my 7.30 AM appointment, the staff opened the door at exactly 7.30am, No greeting other than running in circles getting the staff papers ready to do the staff job, then a HALLLLO no face to face contact. Impolite then I was reprimanded that I was early YOUR APPOINTMENT IS 7.45”. Is there a charge $70.00. You’re kidding. Im not paying to have my tires put back on, WELL YOU BETTER TALK TO ANOTHER STAFF. In the meanwhile other staff are coming to work and exercising their legs getting limbered up for their job but nobody, says hello or BOO. Then Mr STAFF, came by 30 minutes later MR SHUTERMANN, non polite no effort to even come close to pronouncing my name. Then it even got stupider, Mr Staff WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO WITH YOUR TIRES. Now Im asking, “Is this a joke”, for 15 minutes’ worth of work Im there an hour now. My other issues about the car fuse cover keeps falling off and the front hood had permanent paint discoloring, when this was shown, Mr Staff YOU DONT KEEP YOUR CAR VERY CLEAN DO YOU. Now we really get bazaar. MR STAFF says YOU’RE CRITICIZING ME PERSONALLY. Wow now we’re going down a really dangerous ** path unbelievable, the ** show continues. Then Mr Staff asked me WHAT DO I DO FOR A LIVING. I expect an apology from senior Mercedes management. Completely unbelievable.

I bought a new Mercedes-Benz C 220 on 22-09-2015 but, unfortunately, the car after reaching my home garage which is 300 kms from Dealer Showroom is not able to drive through. Its front doors are noisy from day one & the wind screen is always full with moisture thus reducing the day/night visibility to 30%-40%. After continues complain I have received only mail & call but no technician has turned up till now. Also the website sources show that the particular VIN (**) belongs to C220 model & year of manufacture 2006. I am surprised whether I had purchased a new car or a used car? It seems to ask for a replacement.

Any car but NEVER EVER Mercedes. Why am I posting here? To create consumer awareness. NEVER EVER MERCEDES AGAIN. Worst customer service ever. Mercedes Benz Canada is the worst company to deal with when there is a problem with the car. Complete lack of customer service and they do not care if you are a long time client. They simply don’t care. After almost two years no one is able to find the problem in my 2018 E 400 at Mercedes Oakville and Mercedes Benz Canada is not willing to do anything. After repeated visits for a problem brought to their attention right after we leased the vehicle it still hasn’t been rectified. We have had to escalate to arbitration but still no help because it is an intermittent noise that doesn’t happen every day. Despite multiple employees hearing the noise on multiple occasions they can’t fix it.Mercedes Benz Canada’s response to arbitration was pathetic. Their response was we are welcome to keep taking car back. They have tried to repair multiple times at an inconvenience to us and their only solution is to keep going back. No one expects multiple visits for a noise issue on a car that costs this much. We were so desperate to get rid of this vehicle that we even went and talked to sales department at Mercedes Benz Oakville who knew about the situation but were unable to do anything to make it reasonable for us to switch cars. They just don’t care that we are unhappy and stressed about paying so much money every month for a car that annoys us. Despite providing them with multiple recordings evidencing the noise they still can’t fix it and just don’t care.Over all terrible and worst customer service experience we have ever had. If you don’t want to have any problem, just DO NOT BUY MERCEDES FROM MERCEDES BENZ OAKVILLE. There are lots of other luxury brands to choose from. IF YOU WANT DETAILS ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE feel free to contact us. I can even provide documentation and you can make better decisions when you are picking a luxury car.

A range of problems from drive belt being replaced, alternator, the lights
A range of problems from drive belt being replaced, alternator, the lights inside not working, clanking from the engine when aircon is on, rear end noise, the car sliding on acceleration (rear end) and then the car misfired and a near miss with a truck. Mercedes has fixed all other than clunky noises and aircon noise. They tells the car is safe, then why is it sliding on the roads and lacking power on acceleration. In the process of picking up my car an hour late from my workplace, they get me a parking fine. They then deliver it back to my home late also. They indicate they will pay the fine, I have confirmation of that. They have not, and the fine has increased. I receive paperwork advising no known issues, though the engine light code paperwork has the misfire in ignition coil noted. My guess is notice done as my car is still not driving well. I ask my complaint to be sent to their CEO. I have not received confirmation of this. Silverstar in Doncaster had advised me that my car is fine and what would I expect of a 2 year vehicle. They offer to replace mine with a demonstrator and inform me they will offer me 35,000 for my 50,000 car and I will need to pay them the gap of 20,000. The dealer principal recommends that yes you should go to consumer affairs. Poor service, poor quality 2012 c180, very disappointed. Here I am now driving a car that does not accelerate and with continuous engine noise and malfunctions. Level of safety felt: zero. I am now due for a service though do not want to be humiliated at a Mercedes Dealership in Victoria again.

My experience has been nothing but a disaster from both Mercedes-Benz dealership in Kansas and MO. They are very racist against people of color especially to women. Ive never been treated so bad. You never get offered the same services as other individuals. This makes it very upsetting that I purchased this vehicle. After the salesperson was confronted about his behavior now he wants to try and pretend it didnt take place. Yes it did happen and he needs to own up to it. He doesnt need to work with the public. I dont recommend purchasing a vehicle from them to be humiliated.

I have had two cars now of Mercedes in 2 and a half years. The first one was one of the red ones that they have known about for 4 years and still carried on spraying with this faulty paint. I had not much success with the warranty procedure to the degree that they only wanted to respray the panels affected, this happen to be everywhere apart from one side I argued for a full respray as the car was showing signs of getting worse by the week. I got so fed up that believe it or not I traded it in and got another one. This one was involved in a accident that involved the bonnet needing slight fill and respray. I was told it at to go to a Mercedes approved spray shop so of it went to Looker of Maidstone Kent where the first week it was sent back to me on a transporter. I did not let it be unloaded as it had scratches and chips in the new paint work. Back it went for another week. I was called and told it was ready for collection and when I got there the bonnet was not put on the car straight and the paint work still not good. They told me they had resprayed the whole bonnet but this was a lie as when I spoke to the guy that sprayed it, he said he only went across 3/4 of the way, they also told us they had replaced parts, they hadnt. They also managed to damage one of my alloy wheels in transport which was refurbished. I still think I should have got a new wheel as there was nothing wrong with it when it went in. After week three I got it back. I am still not happy with it as when washing it I have a circular mark on the bonnet. I sent all my correspondence to Mercedes Benz and after 5 days they have told me they are not prepared to compensate me other than the free labor only offered on my next service. They cant understand why I am unhappy and have told me that I have to go to the ombudsman. This is unreal from a so called premium branded company. Anyone that can help me get this out on the internet as they seem to think they are untouchable by the man on the street. My main bit of advice dont buy a Mercedes if you are expecting a good customer service and after care. Poor poor poor.

Took 4 MB customer care agents to finally arrange for the local dealer to bring one 4 hours later. Unrelated, just called customer service for recommended tire options for my S550 as the Pirellis they put on lasted 10,000 miles. Took 10 minutes to get a connection to a ringing phone that nobody ever picked up. Should have stuck with Audi. Not impressed at all!!

What does the Mercedes brand represent? Safety? Reliability? Excellence? Comfort? Customer Service? Not anymore. My brand new 2019 Mercedes c300 and MB USA have failed me in all of these areas. My car, which is barely six months old, stalled without any warning while I was on the interstate heading to work. I narrowly avoided several collisions while trying to pull over. I had the car towed to the dealership (MB of Orlando), and the car was returned to me the next day with assurance the issue was fixed. I asked to speak with the service director Ed **, but he never called me, rather he only responded with brief and vague emails. I also requested to speak with Mr. **, the general manager, and he too was elusive. Ten days later, it stalled again on the interstate on a Sunday evening. This time, my pregnant wife was with me, and needless to say the experience caused her a great deal of distress. We had the car brought to MB of South Orlando, as it was the closest dealership to where the car stalled. I was told by this dealership to leave the car, and theyll have it looked at in the morning. I asked them to please help me and my pregnant wife find a ride home, perhaps provide a shuttle, or loaner vehicle. They said there is nothing they can do, and that we need to find our own way home. They returned the vehicle two days later, saying its working fine now after replacing a computer chip. I decided to call MB USA customer service the next day, and explained my disappointment to the representative. I was assured somebody would call me within 24 hours from corporate. 24 hours came and went, and no call from corporate. Finally, about 36 hours later I was able to get a hold of Jena from corporate.Jena listened attentively to my grievances, and was sympathetic to my situation. She said shell get back to me after gathering more information about the vehicle, and speaking with the dealerships. To her credit, she did follow up with me. However, she said the vehicle has been serviced per contractual and warranty agreements, and that there is nothing else MB USA is required to do for the customer. Im extremely disappointed by the level of customer service from MB USA, and the MB dealerships mentioned. Im even more disappointed that my vehicle is not safe or reliable, having broken down twice in two weeks. Mercedes Benz, is this your new standard?

The finance rep called me on a vehicle that I no longer had to tell me that I owed state property tax on it for 2020. The amount was almost 8x what I ever paid one year that I had it which was crazy. I had the lease vehicle only 4 days in the year, 2020, that I turned it in then she said they would prorate it. The new cost was slightly higher than what I paid for one of the previous years. Of course during the call I was getting mad since the rep was obviously lying or incompetent. I pulled out all the previous year’s payments (2019, 2018) and receipts after I hung up on her then called back hoping to get another rep. I didn’t realize it was her and she didn’t realize it was me. I told her the brief situation about the taxes and cost in which she also said it didn’t sound right then she pulled up my account. She then realized I was the person she spoke to earlier and of course it was correct then. They sent me the tax bill saying it was late. What? It was late because the rep called to verify my address to send me the bill. My address hasn’t changed in over 20 years and they never had any issues sending me anything prior. Since you are no longer financing from them the service went down hill. I couldn’t trade that GS in since no one wanted it. Dealerships were willing to pay off my lease rather than take it. Poor customer service in finance department is all I can say.

I am writing this letter to state my displeasure with having to replace the front rotors on my 2011 Mercedes E350 Blutec with only 30,584 miles. This is our fifth Mercedes starting in 2007 with an E320, a C320, E320 CDI, CLK350 and the current E350 Blutec. Each car was driven about 15,000 miles per year by both drivers, averaging 70% highway, 30% local. We have never had any problem with brakes, rotors or anything in that area. Our current Mercedes E350 Blutec has the sport package. On September 12, 2012, we had the front right tire replaced because we hit a pot hole that ruptured the sidewall of the tire. The tire was replaced by Quirk Mercedes of Bangor Maine, mileage 26,375.A summary of the succeeded maintenance By Brumos Mercedes of Jacksonville, FL follows: Service on October 17, 2012, car mileage 29339, for regular Flex A Diesel special. Right rear tire found to be worn bald. We ended up putting 3 new tires on the car. Total bill is $1,156.45. Service on November 12, 2012, car mileage 30,584. Incoming customer complaint: Very noticeable heavy vibration appears at most highway speeds. Service checked balance on all tires. The 3 that Brumos replaced checked okay. The RF tire that was replaced on September 14, 2012 by Quirk Mercedes of Bangor Maine needed to be rebalanced. Post service comment: There is a brake vibration at highway speeds coming from the front rotors. A cost estimate to replace both front brake rotors (brakes pulsate when applied) of $535.90. Total bill is $24.88. We now have a time period when we did not drive the Mercedes very much. Service on March 8, 2013, mileage 31,569. Note from last service visit: We discovered a noticeable vibration that appears when the brakes are applied at 35MPH and higher speeds. Customer has felt the same condition in the steering and in the drivers seat. The tech stated it needed front rotors. Service note 31580 found front brake rotors with excessive rotor run out causing a vibration when braking. The tech then replaced the front rotors, front pads and new sensor. Road checked okay. Bill total is $556.16. Our service advisor, who we like very much, informed us that the run out or warping is most likely caused by overheated brakes that cool unevenly such as keeping the brakes applied in the same spot after stopping or running through water with hot brakes. Nowhere in the Mercedes manual is this discussed.I would think that the excellence of German engineering would design rotors that would stand up to these conditions. I hesitate to declare a design flaw, but perhaps the design margins have been compromised for some other consideration. In any event, I really do not want to face another rotor replacement in another 30,000 miles.

I purchased my C280 with 7 miles on it. It was the car of my dreams and my very first new car. To make a long story short, five years after purchase and a lot of money invested in maintenance and repairs and no warranty, Ive been told that I need to replace the camshaft plugs, sensor, adjuster, balance shaft, engine mounts, transmission mounts, timing chain and seals. Not to mention, both door handles broke off a few months ago (and to think I blamed my children). Whats worse, the mechanic added that those problems are common problem in C class vehicles from years 2006 to beginning 2008. Basically, the Mercedes Benz company is aware that this problem occurs in their vehicles due to a plastic camshaft that was previously used. Why wasnt I told this while I was still under warranty? Why werent the parts ever recalled? I am so hurt because I cant afford the $5,500 repair on my dream car! The quality I always thought accompanied the luxury of Mercedes Benz is a joke and I cant begin to express my disappointment.

We have a 2012 Mercedes-Benz GL350 that listed new for 80,000.00. We bought it used in October of 2018 and it appeared in Excellent condition and had a clean Carfax and great service history. It had about 97,000 miles on it when we purchased it. At approximately 108,000 miles the engine locked up with no warning. The cost to replace the diesel engine with a new engine is close to 25,000.00. I contacted Mercedes Customer service and was informed that since I didnt purchase the vehicle new and I didnt have its yearly service done at an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer, they would not be able to offer any assistance with the repair cost. I was informed that even if I had purchased it new and had it serviced by the book, they would probably only offer about 5-10% of the repair cost. I was then told that if I wanted to purchase a New Mercedes GLS model, that they would offer me a discount coupon of $3,000.00.A new GLS starts at about 65,000.00. I think an 80,000.00 vehicle should last longer than 108000 miles, even if the dealer does not maintain it. By looking at the vehicle it is apparent that it was maintained. POOR customer service and product support in my opinion. Now I have a vehicle that I owe 16,000.00 on, and I would be lucky to get 6000.00 in the condition it is in now. And a used motor would still cost around $10,000.00. In addition to the engine, I have had to replace the oil filter housing due to a leak at less than 100000 miles, and recently I replaced the rear air bag and sensor and the air diverter valve also. Done with Mercedes for sure.

I was a loyal owner of Mercedes Benz (two cars in the past four years). My most recent purchase is the C350 Sport. It came down with a transmission breakdown last week, after three years and just 86,000 miles. I had the car towed to the Euromotors (Germantown, Maryland). I was told that I was to pay about $10,000 in repairs. I became a Mercedes Benz customer because of your craftsmanship and reputation. I never expected a power train issue so early in the life of such a great car. I love the car; I enjoy driving the car, and I expected to remain a loyal customer for a longtime. In fact, I was planning to trade my C350 for the new E350 Coupe next year. The dealership is not willing to do a courtesy repair on my car because my regular services had not been completed by them. I would like the Mercedes corporate office to intercede on my behalf, but when I contacted them (in not so many words), they told me that I was SOL (short on luck), and I was at the mercy of the dealer. I guess I made a big a mistake when I left BMW to become a Mercedes owner.

I am looking into filing with the Better Business Bureau against such lousy practice of such a large company. I will never buy another Mercedes and I will tell everyone to never trust what they have to offer. So please!!! In my opinion look elsewhere before you buy and overpay for a Mercedes... Leaking fuel sensors on Mercedes Vehicles... Everyday, I run into more people with this problem. The dealers and Mercedes Benz Corporate only care about one thing >> PROFITS. If you are lucky, they may cover half of the parts and charge you the labor to repair/replace the leaking sensors. Just hope that your gas tank does not need to be replaced. They are getting hundreds of calls a day on these Leaking tanks and sensors. This will end bad for Mercedes One day in the near future someones house is going to burn to the ground because of leaking Fuel in the garage next to the water heater. My wife had the problem in her CLK550 2007. The dealer Fletcher Jones of Newport Beach gave us nothing but trouble and getting the problem fixed. Her car has 7000 miles on it. Shame on Mercedes Benz of America and Fletcher Jones Motorcars of Newport CA for NOT doing the right thing for their Customers. This is a Serious fire and explosion Hazard. The fix can run 1300 dollars all the way up to 3500 dollars if you need a new fuel tank. The estimates online say that as many as a million vehicles are using these defective Sensors (I think it is a lot more). Keep in mind these sensors are located directly under the rear passenger seats under access panels. In my wifes vehicle, we actually smelled the gasoline in the cabin and the garage. Also note all of the leads and electrical lines going into this sensors in contact with the raw fuel/gasoline.Defective products are not just inconvenient for consumers. When products fail due to bad designs or manufacturing flaws, they can cause injuries and cost consumers significant financial loss. Manufacturers have a responsibility to comply with industry safety standards and to WARN consumers of any potential dangers. If physical injury or financial harm results from their failure to do so, and when other consumers have suffered losses similar to yours, the manufacturers may be held legally responsible through class action lawsuits and complex multi-district ligation (MDL).

The Mercedes GLA is a great purchase. I have researched this make from child like time frame. I have lived and stayed updated on this make since I was 8 yrs old. This has been a childhood dream or bucket list now. The model is a little unfamiliar but its high in demand. I adore the sound system, sunroof access, capacity holding and the drive on the road. It runs well, and great on speed and brakes. On the other hand, the brakes could improve a bit and all models should be snow ready not just AMG style. I wish the colors were a tad more to choose from exterior and interior.

This time it did significant damage to the garage door and the tailgate. Have you heard anyone else having this issue? Second issue when driving less than 20mph the back camera clicks (activates but does not turn on). This is a new occurrence which I believe is related to the tailgate opening automatically.

I visited the Dealership in Tampa Bay, Florida Mercedes Benz of Tampa Bay to get a diagnostic service since the car was signaling a malfunctioning alternator. I had to pay the diagnostics fee even though I still left without them telling if the alternator was the matter or not because the sales agents asked for me to buy a set of batteries for them to be able to check if the alternator was malfunctioning. The dealer fee was 149 dollars and they gave me a discount so I had to pay for approximately 120 dollars anyways. I find it very hard to believe that a dealership cannot check on the alternator by using one of their batteries if mine were not good enough for the job, which actually I have not had any issues with. I was very displeased with this treatment. I will not recommend this dealer to anyone.

Car had major electrical issues. Had a mind of its own. Sensors for backing up always went off while driving heavily annoying. Rear hatch door went window guides broke. A real lemon. It was totaled because water rose above the floor flooding out my computer.

Mercedes-Benz totally ignores the customer complaint. Will even go as far as lie to you and literally hang up the phone on you! I bought a slk280 used with only 14,000 miles on it within a year and a half. I noticed that the clear coat was starting to come on. I contacted the dealership where I bought it. They told me that it was probably acid rain so I contacted Mercedes and they said that they had no problems with their paint. I believe them. 2 years later my problems way worse and then I find out that other people with the red and silver paints are having problems with the clear coat peeling! If youre having the same problem please contact me through Facebook. I would like to help, by way of getting people together who have the same problem to start a class action lawsuit. Apparently Mercedes will pick and choose who they are willing to help and usually its those who can afford an attorney!

Let me start off by saying that when I test drove my 2010 GL-350 I fell in love with it. The engine was smooth, transmission great and interior quality was fantastic, so I went ahead and purchased it. Despite having 90k miles on it (I have had diesels before and run them until 150k easily and know they can go much higher so the miles didnt worry me) I thought it was a sound decision (I have also owned 2 Mercedes before and loved them both ML-350s). Well after 4 Check engine lights including Blue Tech low (the CEL came on before the warning to top up the tank!), Fuel line break spraying diesel over a relay, Blue Tech heater replacement and an O-ring failure on the turbo and over $3000 in 4 months I finally decided to trade it out. I worked with the Dealer who sold me the vehicle in the first place (MB of Westminster in CO) to try to get a replacement, but I felt like I was starting from scratch again and they were not offering me anywhere near what I paid for it (in effect negating any equity I had in the vehicle) so we ended up at an impasse (interestingly, I test drove a 2010 ML 350 with 45k on it and while on the test drive the CEL came on!!!!) leaving me with a vehicle that was nice to drive, but every few minutes I was looking to see if that Check Engine Light had come on again.....not relaxing at all!! In the end I decided to trade it in for a new Japanese car losing a LOT of money but gaining a car that has a bumper to bumper warranty for 3 years. My advice if you are looking at an older Mercedes - DO NOT Buy!

In July of 2011, I purchased a certified pre-owned Mercedes E350 with about 10,000 miles on it. Now, less than 3 months of owning this car, the air conditioning smells awful when I turn it on, I mean it literally smells like feces or sewage. I stopped by the Mercedes dealer today (8-October-2011) where I purchased it from only to be told that Mercedes is not warranting this problem. I was told he had 4 customers just this week reporting the exact same thing. It would be my responsibility to pay for what would be the amount of a temporary fix; replacing the cabin air-filter and spraying some Lysol-type disinfectant in the coil condensate box, costing around $180 to $200. This same scenario would need to be repeated at least yearly or more often. The service adviser himself even stated he did not agree with Mercedes not warranting this problem, and even stating that Mercedes does not believe it to be a problem. Well try driving my car with the A/C on with the smell that immediately begins to fill the car. It nearly makes you want to vomit so bad. My A/C is virtually unusable because of it. I have owned Mercedes cars since 2008 and not once have I had an issue, until now. And this is making me seriously contemplate selling the car (at a substantial loss because who wants to buy a car that smells like sewage) and buying something else. I had considered myself to be a lifelong Mercedes owner/driver, but if they refuse to stand by their product, then why should I remain loyal to them? It is an engineering and design defect that needs to be retrofitted and corrected. Come on Mercedes, do something about this, or I wont be the only Mercedes customer that youll lose to another manufacturer.

I purchased my Mercedes SLK 350 new in 2005. The car currently has 49,000 miles on it. Within the last month while driving, my transmission has gone into neutral causing the car to lose forward motion and not allowing me to regain drive. This occurred on the freeway at 65mph, in traffic on a major boulevard and most recently on a one lane, steep downhill grade in Malibu Canyon. Each time I had to coast off the highway, turn off the motor and wait. Then I would restart the car and it would become drivable again. After the last incident, I took it to Silver Star Mercedes in Thousand Oaks where I have my SLK350 serviced and where I purchased it new in 2005 as a retirement gift to myself. After performing tests, they said it was a defective speed sensor and would cost $2,500 to replace. Even though the car only had 49,000 miles on it, they wouldnt repair it under warranty as the 5 year (50,000 mile) factory warranty had expired. Before authorizing the repair, I researched NHTSA to find out if there had been other reports of the same problem. While there are some reports of this on my model, there have been numerous problems with other Mercedes models speed sensors that have been repaired for Mercedes owners as a safety issue. Some of those repairs were directed by the NHTSA.Considering that the issue seems to be safety related and my Mercedes only had 49,000, well-maintained miles on it, I asked my service rep if he would mind contacting Mercedes about this issue and see if they would repair it or at the least, share in the cost of the sensor repair. Two days later, the dealer contacted me and said Mercedes wasnt interested. I am surprised and disappointed in Mercedes for their seeming lack of interest and Silver Star for not offering a cost adjustment in the absence of Mercedes not reaching out. It is my understanding that Mercedes has become more proactive in safety related issues and gives their dealers more flexibility in situations similar to mine. I have a genuine concern for my familys safety and the safety of other Mercedes owners and their families.

We purchased a Mercedes E350 in 2012. We already replaced 3 tires. Each one costs us $350. We owned more than 20 different cars in our family for all these years and none had this problem. After some web search, we found out the Low Profile Tire which are used on Mercedes E350, will not survive a deep pothole or a curb touch. That is why they have so-called Tire and Wheel insurance. When we purchased the car (new), the sales person did ask us (casually) whether we want to purchase this insurance. He did not bother to explain the significance of the problem. Now they said since we turned it down, they cannot do anything about it. Also there is no way that one can replace the Low Profile Tires with the Regular Tires. We are stuck with this problem. NJ is known to have many potholes on the streets.

They had my address on file for all eight years and never sent me an message that I had a issue with my car. What a class company. I am trying to speak to a manager right now and have been on hold for over 35 mins. Clearly they believe in good customer support. Going forward based on the way I have been treated. Dont plan on buying any MB in the future and will be selling all of the MB that I own today which is 3. You learn about a company in tough time and MB failed the test.

I bought my car E350 4matic 2012 last year around April and a few weeks ago, my car started making a tapping noise. I took my car to the closest MB dealer and after a day or two, they finally found that the car had a wrong size wrist pin in the piston. They offered to change the 6 pistons and the connecting rods all together. I have friends who build engines and flip cars from scratch, so I ran the issue by them. I even had one of my friends to talk to the technician adviser and pinpointing the real issue. At first the dealer was telling me that there is an oil lash in the pistons. After my friends talked to them and corrected them that there is no oil lash in the pistons and the tapping noise can only come if the wrist pins are not the correct size. Since the car came with defective parts and they changed almost the engine, I believe the value of my car has diminished and the MBUSA should compensate me at least by extending the warranty. After several phone calls and emails, someone in the name of Joe called me from the MBUSA and told me that he will talk to the dealer and the service adviser; and he will get back to me. So I got a call yesterday and result was/is disappointing. He told me that MBUSA did not grant any extended warranty and that is why the original warranty is there for. My next step is to file a complaint to Virginia Department of Consumer Affairs and Better Business Bureau Virginia. Did anyone else have any issue similar to mine on their E350? I am certain my next car is not going to be a Mercedes Benz. What would you guys do if you were me? Thanks for your inputs in advance.

I purchased my C230 Mercedes Benz from Ed Hicks Mercedes in Corpus Christi, Texas in 2007. For over two years, I took my car in for service whenever the service maintenance light would come on, indicating that the service was due. In 2009, after having service maintenance performed at Ed Hicks Mercedes Benz dealership, I asked a friend, who is a mechanic, to check my vehicle to see if the maintenance I was charged for was indeed performed. After taking off the unit that shows the air filter, it was clear that it had not been replaced in several years with all the bugs and dirt that had collected on the filter. Next, the oil filter was pulled out and it was clear that the oil had not been changed in several months, even though I just had the oil change less than 4 hours ago. On the maintenance receipt, it clearly shows 6 quantities of oil change. C230 maintenance book shows 5.8 quantity of oil per vehicle. After checking other C230 maintenance receipts, I found out that I was charged 7 quantities, on others, I was charged 8 quantities of oil for my car when it can only hold 5.8 quantities of oil. My question is where were the additional quantities of oil being used for if not for my car?I drove my vehicle for over two years believing that the maintenance I was paying for was being done. I now know that they were not. I contacted Ed Hicks with my findings and they admitted that the oil change and filter was not replaced. The service manager was present when I took my car in. He saw for himself that the filter had not been replaced and the oil had not been changed. The mechanic told the service manager that he had an emergency that day and just forgot to complete the maintenance. However, Ed Hick refused to refund me the maintenance they have charged me for the job that was not performed. I need a lawyer that can help!

Ive been asking services department management and customer care from MBUSA, they all stated that no warranty coverage from the issue of brakes. Especially customers have to pay to get fixed even though we as a customer that has been negligence. This’s an issue of manufacturing products issues!!! But MBUSA makes the customers pay for the maintenance costs!!! If anyone buy a MB nowadays, be aware of this issue. I own a Mercedes C300 2015 and I have maintained my car with regular services as per Mercedes. All of a sudden my car starts shaking to the point is unsafe to drive on freeways. Somehow I took it to Mercedes Benz of San Jose and I was told that piston and connecting rod need to be replaced and gave me a quote of 11K and mentioned, We are not sure if problem is limited to piston, it can be the whole block but we can’t say until we tear apart your engine. This car is being serviced at the dealer and they never mentioned that early C300 have wrist pin issues in their engines and they have a service bulletin for the same. Mercedes denies to take responsibility for this issue. On top of that my AC smells like dead rat. Again my dealer never mentions anything about lawsuit against Benz. To all reading my post if your car AC smells like dirty sock/rat there is a lawsuit against MERCEDES and they will have to fix it. For all owners of C300 take your car to dealer and have them inspect your car for POTENTIAL PISTON FAILURES and have that written in your JOB SHEET for FUTURE. Ive just purchased a 2012 ML350. Though the ride and the overall quality of the vehicle is nice, the door lock on the passenger door came defective. Weve had to wait over a week to get the part to fix the problem, but the auto-lock function does not work. A company like MB cant even get a simple thing like the door lock. Its going to be serviced again, which my car will be in service more days then driven. This ruins the new car buying experience. I bought the car through Dez at Long Beach MB. I had the service done at House of Imports in Buena Park, CA. Not only I had to wait over ten days for the part to arrive, when it arrived some parts were missing, so I had to wait over the weekend and then some to get my car back. When everything is thought to be fixed, it wasnt. The consequence of this defective part and questionable workmanship is having the new car buying experience ruined and it ruined the image of MB. This is my third MB, and this is not something that happens to supposedly one of the most luxurious brands in the world. ML may not be their best car, but it may well be their most important vehicle this year. I cant understand how this could happen to a MB vehicle. Id understand if it was made in China like vehicles.

This car has had 2 (two) safety related issues in less than 3,000 miles of ownership. Mercedes-Benz is fully aware of these issues but is not fixing the problems. Both Mercedes-Benz and their dealerships do not understand the importance of tracking software on cars and fixing it to avoid problems. Our emergency braking system was shut down by the computer due to software problems. MB should have been able to proactively update the software in order to avoid this problem just based upon the VIN number and production dates. I am waiting for the 3rd safety issue so I can return this car to them under the Lemon Law. Dealerships should be staffed by people who are technically savvy as well as mechanics. Mercedes-Benz is delivering a substandard product due to lack of responsible practices after the product leaves the factory. I am writing concerning my new S550 with the above referenced VIN number, which I picked up on May 16th from authorized Mercedes dealer, European Motor Cars of Devon, PA. I am a long time Mercedes owner and anticipated the continued combination of outstanding service and performance that has been the hallmark of my experience and for which Mercedes is renowned. The service at the dealership was excellent and I began the two plus hour drive home secure in the assumption that my decision to continue as a Mercedes customer was well founded. It was during this first drive that I noticed a minuscule stone strike the windshield adjacent to the rear view mirror with the result being a minute round indentation at the point of impact. I was initially alarmed that so small an object could cause such trouble but subsequent examination revealed the impact was tiny and almost imperceptible.I continued enjoying my new S550 on the daily commute from home to my medical practice until June 4th, when I was shocked to discover a new, approximately 15 inch long horizontal crack from the left side of the windshield to the passengers side. Unlike May 16th there was no observable incident or cause behind this new crack. I subsequently thoroughly examined the crack from outside and could not identify any sign of an impact site. Later that day, I called the MBUSA customer service center to report the windshield crack and ascertain what remedies were available under the vehicles warranty terms, especially considering I had the car less than three weeks. The service representative I spoke to advised me to take my car to an authorized Mercedes dealership service center where the windshield would be examined. I was also told that it was not necessary for me to return to my dealer, European Motor Cars of Devon, PA for service as long as I took the car to an authorized Mercedes dealer. The next day I made the arrangements and took my car to Mercedes of Massapequa in Massapequa, NY.The service manager examined the damage and suggested that what had probably occurred was a tiny stone had struck the windshield. He further advised me that unfortunately he sees many S550s with cracked windshields based on the high definition of the glass used in Mercedes windshields; the problem is one that Mercedes is aware of and one that Mercedes is working diligently along with their European suppliers to correct. He also advised me that based on this issue and the corresponding large number of S550s requiring replacement windshields, there is a long back order period, currently over 30 days, and accordingly I would have to wait until the end of July before my windshield could be replaced. He assured me that based upon all these issues, especially the known windshield defect, he would call MBUSA to make certain my windshield replacement would be covered under my warranty.Unfortunately, when the service manager called me back the next day, he told me that MBUSA denied his request to fully cover my windshield replacement under warranty. He told me that the approximate cost for the windshield replacement would be $2,263.00 and I was being offered a 50% valued customer credit by MBUSA with the end cost to me being more than $1,000.00. Considering my long standing relationship with Mercedes and the facts and circumstances particular to this issue I decided to call MBUSA directly. I asked for the representative assigned to my situation and was informed only that ** was my representative and that he would call me the next day. Despite this assurance I never received a call from **, and after waiting for his call, I decided to call him directly. I called several times and left several messages on his extension requesting he call me immediately to discuss my concerns. Despite this, none of my calls were returned by ** and after growing frustration I called another customer care representative to express my displeasure. It was during this call that the representative ** finally answered his phone and immediately and without provocation began haranguing me in a most unprofessional, discourteous and frankly rude manner. He claimed that the windshield is not a warranty issue and that I would be obligated to replace it myself for the full cost cited by the Massapequa service manager, without the discount previously offered. When I expressed concern with the condition of the car and the possibility of issues associated with driving the car with the windshield in its current condition until the late July date I was told when I could expect service, ** sarcastically told me that perhaps I should instead rent a replacement car from Hess Car Rental, but that I would still be responsible for lease payments in the interim. Following this reminder of my payment obligations, ** hung up on me. I have tried to repeatedly to call him again to discuss my concerns, without success, and without the courtesy of a return phone call, despite my repeated voicemail messages. After a myriad of unsuccessful attempts to speak to ** again, following my only phone conversation with him, I decided to address my concerns with his supervisor. When I again called MBUSAs customer service center and requested to speak with a supervisor, I was told that what I was asking was impermissible. I was further told that the only customer service representative with whom I was allowed to speak with was **; the same ** who had treated me so disgracefully and who had hung up on me during my one and only phone call with him. I was and remain shocked at the statement that my request to speak with a supervisor was denied and that I would only be permitted to discuss my situation with a single customer service representative, especially one who had treated me in such an unprofessional, rude fashion. Is this the policy for all of MBUSAs customers or am I, as one would suspect, the sole recipient of such shabby treatment? Since my phone call with ** I have called several authorized Mercedes service centers to inquire about the availability of an S550 windshield replacement. Every call was answered the same, no windshield replacements are available, several cars are awaiting the same service and the problem concerns a defect that both Mercedes and its suppliers are actively working to address. Since my initial call with MBUSA on the 4th a new secondary crack, approximately 30 inches long, has appeared just above the first. This new crack, along with the first, has rendered the vehicle unsafe to operate. Additionally the rising heat and humidity substantially increases the risk of further cracking and the potential for a catastrophic windshield failure, this is unacceptable. As initially indicated my experience with Mercedes has on the whole, until this most recent incident, especially the outrageous treatment by ** and the MBUSA telephone customer service center, been satisfactory. However I have previously had issues with Mercedes, issues which I was subsequently forced to address through lemon law litigation. The result of said litigation was a nearly unqualified vindication of my claim. I would prefer to resolve this current situation amicably but am prepared to assert my rights vigorously through but not limited to the same procedure. This current situation is made additionally urgent by virtue of the fact that my car is currently operating with a Pennsylvania dealer inspection sticker and has been since my purchase on May 16th. This sticker is valid for 30 days and therefore expires tomorrow, June 16th. The vehicle will not pass inspection in its current condition and is therefore now unusable. I therefore demand either my vehicle be repaired and restored to drivable condition immediately or I be provided a replacement vehicle by Mercedes without charge until such time as it is repaired and returned to a drivable condition. I further demand that any replacement vehicle provided be at least equal to or superior then my current vehicle, model S550. If said replacement vehicle is of a lesser quality, an appropriate adjustment must be made in my lease payment. I would also expect the full cost of the repairs be covered under warranty. Failure to respond and adequately address these demands will result in immediate action being taken through civil litigation, consumer protection enforcement and any and all other applicable processes. With that in mind your immediate attention and response to this correspondence is anticipated and expected. Thank you for your attention to this matter and I look forward to your immediate response.

2012 ML350 blue tech 38000 miles. Clicking noise sounding like a valve tap
2012 ML350 blue tech 38000 miles. Clicking noise sounding like a valve tap (non-mechanical description) but traced to the high pressure fuel pump. Selling dealer replaced the pump, noise disappeared for a month or so and has returned again. On visit to other than selling dealer, shop foreman listened to the vehicle and said he hears this noise all the time and dismissed it as a common occurrence. Find it rather surprising the MB hasnt come up for a fix for this very annoying noise. Any other solutions out there?

BEWARE TO ANYONE THINKING ABOUT GETTING A MERCEDES GLE! On November 30, 201
BEWARE TO ANYONE THINKING ABOUT GETTING A MERCEDES GLE! On November 30, 2016, I leased a Mercedes GLE from Keyes Mercedes in Van Nuys, California. Only a month later, the coolant light came on. We fixed the issue. And then about two months later, two other error signs kept lighting up: (1) Inoperative, See Operators Manual and (2) Active Brake Assist, Functions Limited, See Operators Manual. I was very concerned because the accelerator felt odd when the error signs came on, and the car did not feel safe to drive. We brought the car in for service. The service department addressed the issue, and I received my car back. Since then, the error lights have come on again and again. At this point, my car has gone in FOUR TIMES to the service department to address these error signs that keep coming on! I soon will reach ONE MONTH of being in a loaner car.Keyes Mercedes Service Department has been great in trying to repair the car, but the car is a lemon and it doesnt look like it can be fixed. Mercedes headquarters has been absolutely terrible. Back in March, I reached out to Mercedes headquarters at 800 367 6372, and spoke to an Executive Referral Manager by the name of Kyla. She would not provide her last name. All she would say is it would take 4-6 weeks to determine what can be done, if anything. She would not escalate the situation further, and she would not put me in touch with the regional manager. When I tried to reach out to her when I kept having to bring the car back in for service, she did not respond. When I finally heard back, Kyla said there is nothing that could be done and, shortly afterwards, she relayed that she is changing roles. After several attempts to find a new contact at Mercedes headquarters, I received a call from someone named Brian today. He, too, would not provide his last name. All he could say is it would take another 4-6 weeks to determine what can be done, if anything! THIS IS LUDICROUS! Weve had the car for only 5 1/2 months. It is completely unreasonable for us to have experienced this many error signs. In fact, we should not have experienced any during this short time. What is more unreasonable is Mercedes headquarters will not do a thing about it. Ive never encountered such terrible customer service! I have a feeling that Ill be stuck in a loaner car for many months to come at this rate! It looks like MERCEDES GAVE ME A LEMON!

I own a Mercedes B150 that has many problems. It run 77000 kilometers. When it reached 60,000 kilometers, we changed the left coupling and now we have to change the right one. The fatal problem now is the vitesse which requires the electro hydraulic control unit to be replaced after the car made 75,000 kilometers. From what I know this is an electronic piece in the vitesse, so its incomprehensible that it requires to be changed after 75,000 kilometers only. From what we knew, this is a general defect in the car that must be changed despite its high cost (14000egp). As a result of all the above, we demand that you change the spare part on the companys account because in other cars like the Renault the vitesse has a guarantee until 100,000 kilometers. I dont understand how in Mercedes, which is a high class category, it doesnt cover an equivalent guarantee. Please, consider all this in our complaint. I will wait for your reply, and my best regards to you all.

After purchasing brand new 2016 c300, I had two major problems to my car. After a year, on highway speeds after applying breaks the car started shaking really bad. I took the car to my local dealer from where I bought the car. They said the brake pads need to be replaced. Second time, fuel smell started coming inside the vehicle while driving or when it’s parked in my garage. This time, the fuel pipe was leaking. Both the repairs were done properly by my dealer and I was charged $0 since the vehicle is still under warranty. I also got loaner car for the time my car was at the dealer. Very happy with the service provided by dealer and Mercedes!!
