2021 Honda Passport

The 2021 Honda Passport was a midsize crossover SUV that came with various features and specifications. Please note that my information might not include the most recent updates or changes that occurred after January 2022. Here are some features commonly associated with the 2021 Honda Passport:

Engine: The 2021 Passport typically came with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, providing a good balance of power and efficiency.

Transmission: It was equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission, offering smooth shifts and improved fuel efficiency.

All-Wheel Drive (AWD): AWD was available as an option, enhancing the vehicle's capability to handle different road conditions.

Interior: The Passport featured a spacious and comfortable interior with seating for five passengers. The rear seats were often designed to be easily foldable to expand cargo space.

Infotainment System: The vehicle typically came with a touchscreen infotainment system, including features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone integration.

Safety Features: Honda prioritizes safety, and the Passport usually came with advanced safety features such as Honda Sensing, which includes adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, lane-keeping assist, and more.

Smart Entry and Push-Button Start: Many modern conveniences were included, such as keyless entry and push-button start.

Towing Capacity: The Passport was known for its towing capabilities, with a towing capacity that allowed it to tow trailers, boats, or other recreational vehicles.

Multi-Angle Rearview Camera: A multi-angle rearview camera system was typically included, providing different views to assist with parking and maneuvering.

Terrain Management System: Some models featured a terrain management system that allowed drivers to optimize the vehicle's performance based on different driving conditions.

It's important to verify these features with the specific trim level and options chosen, as features can vary depending on the configuration. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, I recommend checking with the official Honda website or contacting a local Honda dealership.

I bought a new car Honda HR-V 2018 at Honda auto plaza mall (Nostrand avenue in Brooklyn). I dont know that is going on but this car has been giving me so much problem. This car stopped with me in the middle of road. Sometime the steering wheel just locked when I am driving and the dash just went black. I brought it to Honda but nothing got done cause it is still giving me the same problem. They want me to keep driving it like that cause they cannot figure out the issue. I left the car with them until they can fix it. If you love yourself and your family do not buy this car. I cannot keep risking my life and the life of my family driving that car. I could understand if I bought a used car but I bought a new car. Hope this review will help you in your decision. Please see video.

I had to replace the brakes at 20555 miles, again at 35936 and then again at 53150. Honda accepts no responsibility for this problem. They insult my intelligence by blaming me for the premature wear. I have paid out over $600 on brakes so far. The oil pressure switch went out to at a little over 53000 miles, another $300. Battery also died after 2 years (replaced by warranty). The car has not been very dependable and is expensive to maintain. I want to sue them for the brake problems that they refuse to acknowledge!

I have a new 2012 Honda Jazz Hybrid in my ownership. Overall, I am very satisfied with the car. But after the maintenance at 15,000 kilometers, the oil in the engine was replaced in one authorized Honda Israel service. After oil replacement, I just haven’t recognized my car responses. Also, the fuel consumption has increased a bit. In the service manual, it is suggested to use Honda Green Oil for all hybrid cars. The C/N is 0282P99S4LHE. Instead of this oil, they put inside C/N 0282P99G4LHE and they claimed that Honda approved this replacement. That’s the same answer I got from a local customer service agent. My request to put Green Oil wasnt successful. They told me that there is no Green Oil in stock and I have to order it 4 weeks before the next service on 30,000 kilometers. My question is what I am supposed to do in this situation? Thanks in advance.

In December 2014 I purchased a new 2015 Honda Accord. On July 9, 2015 my AIR CONDITIONER stopped working. I live in Florida where the summer is extremely hot making even the shortest of trips very uncomfortable. I took my car to the dealership the next morning for service, knowing that I have a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty in addition to an extended warranty. I was sure that the repair would be covered under warranty. I was informed that a rock/pebble had pierced my condenser which put a pinhole in it, and it is NOT covered under warranty. Honda indicated that the cost to fix the condenser is $716.85. I went to the dealership twice to speak with the General Manager to see if this can be resolved given that my car is only 8 months old with only 9000 miles and I was told to go through my insurance company. I also reached out to Honda of America and was told that the damage was caused by road debris and is not covered under warranty. This is an obvious design flaw. The Honda air-conditioning condenser is unduly prone to damage caused by normal road debris that does not affect other auto manufacturers condenser design. As with other auto makers, the front bumper clip is wide open to any kind of road debris and the condenser sits right behind the front air intake with NO protection at all. However, this typical design poses a problem for the Honda condensers and will happen over & over again, and Honda refuses to do anything about it calling it normal and working as designed! This should be a recall.

I bought a 2017 CRV EX. We installed our car seat in the middle back row of the car. The car seat belt buckle and passenger belt buckle were switched, making it unsafe and difficult for the passenger to put on their seat belt. This is surprising to me because I dont think this is a small mistake. Its a safety issue. I called the dealer, Ralph Schomp Honda in Highlands Ranch, where we bought the car, and I was advised to bring it in for a half day inspection. This is already a hassle, to add to that, the dealer also charges $22/day for a loaner car. I feel like I am being hassled for a big mistake that Honda has made. This just doesnt feel right. This is a brand new 2017 car.I called America Honda and I was told that no one has complained about this. I Googled it and there are others that have complained about this situation. America Honda advised me to bring it into the dealership. Overall, I love the car but I am very disappointed about this big safety mistake from Honda and they are not being proactive to fix the issue. I called American Honda several times and they told me that they cant fix the issue at this time and have done everything according to federal safety regulations. I am very disappointed with American Honda.

On Friday, January 11th, 2013, I left Massachusetts and drove up to New Brunswick, Canada which is about a 9-hour ride. Upon arrival that evening, I parked my car in the driveway and left it sit as usual overnight. Next morning, I unlocked the door and opened the drivers side to a smell of burnt plastic and smoke. Immediately, I noticed the dash info screen and GPS area was melted and realized my passenger side floor was burnt. The glove compartment was melted shut and all wiring was exposed. The windshield was completely smoked up and the ceiling too. I was immediately in touch with my local agent at the Herb Chambers Seekonk, Mass location and they were all pretty worried at the moment and requested that I buy a flight back to Mass, which I did with their approval and reimbursement authorization from Honda. My agent requested that I drop the car off at the local Honda dealership in New Brunswick and I returned back to Massachusetts the day after. My local Honda Herb Chambers has informed me that they will not help me and have requested that I return their loaner car which I also had to do.Remember that only 14 months ago I bought a brand new 2012 Honda Crosstour from them full warranty but they still have told me that I am on my own and that I have to deal with American Honda which has been a total nightmare. The car was shipped back on US ground and brought to Maine where the dept manager took a few pictures and looked over the damage but did not go in to the dash or look internally. I did contact this gentleman and asked him what he thought happened and he said that based on what he saw, it was clearly a faulty wire or condensation started fire due to the change in cold weather.I have since then tried to connect with several people at American Honda in Torrance, CA to try and help me and at least identify what really happened here but Honda has refused to help or further investigate or even acknowledge some sort of defect or internal issue with their brand new 2012 Honda Crosstour. This totally boggles my mind how a corporation like Honda could do this.Wouldnt Honda want to know what happened and how to fix this issue moving forward? They have no respect, no sympathy and they try to consider themselves as a reputable company? Honda America needs to do something so that all parties can be notified properly and if any further issues with the Crosstour can be rectified before further damage or even death occurs. If anyone knows what I should do here, please let me know.

As a goodwill gesture they will replace it one more time. I talked to customer service at Honda and they say its not a defect even though they see it happening on other Hondas.

You say that... we are dedicated to supplying products of the highest quality, yet at a reasonable price for worldwide customer satisfaction. Sometimes you are not, definitely not in this instance. Your goal, so you say is to provide joy through your Business: The Joy of Buying: For those who buy your Products. Sorry, you have provided only sadness, mental harassment, agony and created bad environment and, possibly, of serious accident. You say that, to meet the particular needs of customers in different regions around the world, you base your sales networks, research and development centers and manufacturing facilities in each region. Furthermore, as a socially responsible corporate citizen, you strive to address important environmental and safety issues. This claim is highly doubtful as you have supplied a vehicle without bearing in mind the environmental conditions (at least in this instance) with improper finish and paint job, a manufacturing defect, leading to extreme corrosion which in turn endangers human safety.Such behavior, lack of quality consciousness, disregard for environment and safety, is helping Honda India to destroy the unparalleled legacy of greatness created by your Respected Founder Mr Soichiro Honda. Remember he also said real happiness lies in completion of work using your own brains and skills. Does the shoddy job provided by you make you happy? We refer you to our previous correspondence and would notify you that if you do not arrange to carry out complete corrosion repairs to the a/m Honda motor car free of cost within 21 days hereof, we shall institute legal proceedings in appropriate form against all of you without any further reference to you.The facts are as follows: Purchase of one Honda City was made on 13-14/02/2011 upon payment of full value to you. Owing to inherent manufacturing defects, leading to uncontrolled rusting, corrosion of body, even the front portion of the vehicle has caved in as shown in photos. This particular car, if not the batch, has rusted since last more than 2 to 3 years owing to a serious and severe deficiency somewhere along the factory line. The damage and responsibility thereof can be established by various tests available incl. salt spray tests. You may also wish to carry out tests at any world-renowned lab supervised by a leading expert of forensics in motor cars, specializing in rust/corrosion matters.Your statement formation of rust in car happens due to external natural factors. If that were the case then all cars Honda or otherwise - on Kolkata, if not Indian roads, would start rusting within 1 or 2 years of purchase as it has happened in your case. We own more than 4 cars even more than 20 years old - none is affected by rust as the Honda is, although used equally and parked in the very same covered garage. No stringent quality tests esp. of the paint job at various corners and undulations were carried out by you.The rusting started after 2, and further deteriorated within 3 years of purchase. Despite the vehicle visiting your workshop numerous times, you did not take any notice of the spreading and dangerous rust. Shockingly, only in 2015 after we sent our Honda to your workshop at your request (and after we were forced to complain to your Japan HO about the corrosion), you stated that some parts incl. underbody was rusted, totally ignoring the dangerous and unseemly rusting of the main body of the Honda! In the 4th year, the damage owing obviously to some sort of manufacturing defect by Honda India is even more dangerous than before. We have found innumerable complaints of rusting and corrosion against Honda City cars sold in India. You are surely aware of this fact.Damage is not caused by external factors directly but by manufacturing defect or owing to Honda not taking sufficient care during manufacturing process. Similar damage is seen in other Honda cars probably of same batch. Your excuse of warranty period having expired does not hold any water. You do not desire an amicable resolution of our concern and wish us to proceed legally in the interest of justice and fair play. The vehicle is parked in a covered garage in Alipore where not only 4 more cars of mine but numerous other cars of other owners are parked all of whom would gladly confirm that their cars have not corroded coz their cars are not manufactured by Honda. As a fond lover of my Honda, I ensure personally ensure every morning, that my car is dried thoroughly after being washed and, any extraneous matter, if any, is cleaned. We purchased your product in good faith. We may add that since our complaint, the corrosion has led to the front end of the vehicle under the bonnet to be severely damaged as well, leading to the frontal parts almost falling off the car as you would observe from the spilt slippery material in the photos. You can easily verify all the similar complaints made against Honda about rust/corrosion and find a pattern of an inherent manufacturing defect and the minutest detail of the corrosion by having the vehicle undergo various investigative tests incl. salt test all of which would establish that Honda is guilty. Kindly note that upon expiry of the response period after August 29, 2015 - we would be free to take all possible action against Honda in India and Japan for being duped to buy a vehicle which has corroded owing to obvious manufacturing defect and we would assume that Honda is not interested to rectify the damage.

I admit that I hold onto your vehicle for a long time since they perform so well but each time I have had to replace my car, it is due to the body frame rusting out, never the engine. It is frustrating to have the engine performing like a champ but the body giving out.

My son bought a 2003 Honda Accord. Three days after it was purchased, it wouldnt go into 3rd gear unless he just stepped on it or waited for the transmission to decide what to do. He asked the friend and she stated that it did it a few times with her and was told it was a clogged valve but nothing major. He checked with Honda and found out there was a recall; however, wouldnt you know the recall on the transmission had nothing to do with the problem he was facing. I started to do some research and see if there were other people with the same issue. I was absolutely astonished at how many complaints were filed with Honda and blogs and BBB and Consumer Affairs with the same exact problem. Ironically enough, the issues with all the complaints were that it was after all the warranties were expired, go figure. I decided to call Honda and just speak to them to see if Honda was investigating the issue since there were so many complaints, and the previous recall had nothing to do with this issue. Well, I was told that since we bought the car as is, Honda will not investigate the issue. I explained that we can get the lady we bought it from to call and she said that didnt matter because we bought the car, it was now in our name. Really? So you will listen to my complaint and I can file one with you, but basically you dont care because we just bought the car. The CS spokeswoman told me, Maam, I am more than willing to file your complaint, but yes, because you just purchased the car, there is nothing Honda can do. Wow, so you mean to tell me that there are thousands of complaints about the same issue, same model, same year and Honda is not willing to investigate the issue at hand? I have told my son, let this be a lesson learned, dont go by what everyone tells you that Hondas are good cars and they last forever, blah, blah, blah. I would even understand if there were only a few complaints about this issue. But I was amazed at how many there were about this and yet there seems to be no ongoing investigation to see if there was something that could be done. I am so very disappointed in Honda and their lack of concern about the safety and satisfaction of their consumers.

I like that its a sports car and it is fast and small and good first car for me to learn how to drive a manual. But I dont like that it has manual locks. I wish it was an automatic button and I wish I could have the seat higher up because this car sits very low to the floor.

Now Im officially freaked out. I bought a 2021 new HR-V from Huntington Honda (NY) and I’m discovering this new car with all this rust. I showed it to two local mechanics who are shocked and confused as to why there is rust underneath the steering column. I also noted the rust underneath my 31-day old 2021 Honda HR-V. Is this normal? And is there missing insulation in the photo next to the steering column? Is that maybe why these models make a horrible annoying noise when driving 35 plus miles an hour? I’m talking about a piercing whistling noise whenever I crack open a window or moon roof, which according to Huntington Honda, the noise appeared in 2 other 2021 HR-Vs they test drove, and I’m supposed to live with this as if it’s normal. There’s video of this whistling issue in YouTube regarding a 2018 HR-V. In the comments for that video, you’ll see many other Honda HR-V owners complain about the same issue. Did I buy a lemon? Does Honda make bad cars or does Huntington just sell a batch of badly built Hondas. Im wondering if the 0% APR was just a ploy so they could get rid of defectively built cars. I bought this new HRV because I wanted a safe vehicle for my family. The purchase was supposed to be such a joyous thing. What a mistake! My entire family is flipping out! What the hell else is wrong w this car?Anyone experiencing this with the new Hondas or cars from Huntington Honda? Would I have had a better luck at a different Honda dealer? Should I have bought a Toyota, Nissan, or Hyundai? Im super stressed about how much I spent on this car, and no one from the dealer is calling me back, responding timely or willing to help me resolve this. BTW, heres the YouTube video of the horrible noise that these Hondas are making. **

I bought a brand new 2013 Honda CRV in Feb. 2013. I have spent a total of $11943.74 to date on my vehicle in just 7 years. That’s an average of $1706.25 annually. That’s got to be wayyyy above average. There are 255,000kms on the vehicle, mostly all highway. This doesn’t include cost for tires over that 7 years. Most of this has also been at the dealership; most people tend to agree that that’s my problem; stay away from the dealers, they say. I highly doubt I’ll buy another Honda.

Unfair denial of warranty for my 2010 Honda Rancher with VIN ** purchased on 10/22/2011.On 7/16/2011, the transmission locked up, less than nine months after purchase. I took it to Donelson Cycles in St. Ann, MO to be repaired since it was still under warranty. I was told by the service manager that their Honda representative denied any warranty assistance. I then called Honda Customer Support and was told they would investigate further and get back with me within a couple days.On 7/27/2011, I received a call from Honda Customer Support and was told Honda Warranty assistance was denied because I used an aftermarket oil filter.Being a loyal Honda consumer for many years, I was very disappointed and surprised at their decision to deny any repair assistance. I consulted with an attorney and he suggested I try and resolve this issue prior to retaining his service to move forward with legal action.I would be satisfied if Honda honored their warranty or at least offered reasonable assistance.

The 2018 Honda Civic Sport Touring that I purchased is the single worst auto purchase I have ever made, and I have owned more than several Honda automobiles and motorcycles. The build quality is horrendous on this new model, it feels as if you are driving around with the windows and or doors open at all times, the interior constantly fogs. The interior is extremely cold in winter and extremely hot in the summer, the climate is at 90% fan level at all times, of which the fan makes a subtle whirling noise. The collision mitigation system will brake randomly for you with no obstacles in sight, insanely dangerous. That same system if you attempt to disable you can but you only get like 10 disables before you can no longer disable for the following 2 weeks, really? A limit on how many times I can turn off this horrible dangerous feature????The OEM tires on the vehicle are constantly either blowing out or running low on air, why they put such a cheap standard load tire on this hatchback vehicle should be considered criminal. I have now had to replace 2 blowouts and Im re-filling a different tires air at least once a week, I had to purchase a tire infiltrator so that I dont have to constantly visit and pay the gas station for air.The wooden board that covers the spare tire in the trunk has curved and no longer sits flat, WT???? The molding/black rubber seals around the doors and jamb already coming loose. From what I have noticed on the drivers side door the interior section if you rest your arm on the panel itself it rattles, Im assuming this is caused due to the flimsy nature of the panel itself. The drivers side visor rattles?13, 000 miles in and Im counting down the months over the next year to trade this junk in, I will never ever buy a new Honda vehicle going forward. I would without any doubt recommend Hondas from 2010 and back because I have had great experience with the year models. Im sure Im missing something here as there is just too many thing to remember. I get in the car daily thinking whats next with this thing. Living off the build and name of years in the past. Just HORRIBLE.

2009 Honda Odyssey purchased out right. From the very first day this van pulled slightly to the left and would on regular occasions pop the steering wheel right out of my hands. I took it to the dealer so many times I lost count. I even had it reported to the general manager for doing a service test drive on the van. They’re claiming nothing was wrong. Yet this would happen out of the blue and catch me off guard. I felt very unsafe in this van and they would not trade it or swap it out. I now wonder if I had financed it if they would have paid better attention. The consequences were I got fed up with Saratoga Honda messing me around. The van spent more time there than in my possession, so I traded it for a Hyundai and have had zero issues. In fact the service department in Queensbury, NY is far better than Honda in Saratoga. More polite more knowledgeable of their product and they treat me like a human being not an empty-headed female which is the way I felt I was being treated in Saratoga. No more business from me. Worst brand new car I have ever owned. One year ago, I Purchased a brand new Honda HRV from a new car Honda dealer in Puerto Vallarta. To begin with the car which is supposed to be very easy on gas never gets more than 15 miles on a gallon no matter how I drive. Unless you drive on the most unblemished smooth as roads in the world this is suspension is terrible and incredibly bumpy. In less than one year the dashboard rattles like it’s a 15-year-old jalopy. The air conditioning does not blow strongly enough to even moderately cool down the car in warm weather. So far the dealership is offered to do nothing about the terrible gas mileage saying they’ve checked the car and it’s fine. I will be bringing in the car to correct the other problems but I have no confidence they will be fixed either. Honda should be embarrassed to have put out a model that is this terrible.

I bought brand new Honda Accord EX-L in 2014 March. It suddenly wouldnt start. Battery was brand new. Had it towed to Honda dealer and they said starter is gone - brushes inside are corroded, which is a component failure, they charged me a lofty $ 750 for this repair. I called Honda and they said they couldnt do anything since this was out of warranty. Dont ever buy a Honda.

I purchased a 2017 Honda Ridgeline truck. I live on a small ranch located 3 miles off the paved road. At 23,000 miles, my check engine light came on indicating a problem with my emissions system. I was told that the emissions canister under the truck was filled with dust and dirt (from my road) and that it would cost me $700 to repair this problem. I was told that this same problem would come back every 15K to 20K miles. The service manager told me that the truck was never designed for dirt road, but rather it was a city truck. I immediately drove to the Toyota dealer and traded in the truck for something more reliable. Buyer Beware, this little detail does not appear in the Honda literature.

Owned a Harley full dresser for many years. It was fun to ride but maintenance was a bear, constantly repairing, tightening bolts, hard starting so finally parked it and bought a Honda. Rode the Honda for several years then parked it for lengthy time. Eventually pulled it out of the corner, charged the battery, put fuel in it and it took off on the second try. Very little maintenance needed and more than got my moneys worth out of it. Eventually sold it moved to the mountains and took up riding horses.

Honda refuses to admit the Civics are flawed. The 08 Civic I own has so many they had 2 recalls. The tire constantly wears out unevenly. The condenser is letting rocks hit it making holes so it needs to be replaced. The A/C only works when it wants to! But it only quits on the hottest days! When I take it to the mechanic it works fine! It needs to be not working when I take it in, but, who knows where Ill be when that happens. Im usually in another city. Honda needs to do right and admit it made a bad car!

Having owned seven Camrys, I chose the HR-V for its size and parking ability. With one glaring exception, the HR-V is everything and more than I expected. It rides well, is comfortable (I added good sheep-skin seat covers) and gets good mileage. Everything is accessible and well thought-out EXCEPT the horns. The horns are weak and sound like a childs toy with its tinny Beep, Beep. To replace them you must remove the front bumper/grill and bolt on new ones. Not cheap.

The car is fantastic, but has a lot of nickel and dime expenses. It gets incredibly costly, but is a good family vehicle overall. It does what we need it to do. I like that it has a lot of room and three row seating. When you have a lot of kids that have a lot of stuff, you need a lot of room for car seats and leg room. But I dislike that it gets so expensive to keep it maintained. A low maintenance car would be much easier on our growing family. We could spend more on family activities if we were spending less on the car.

My recent experience with Honda has been beyond disappointing. I have never owned a Honda before, but I had heard good things about their reliability and that Honda was a reputable company that stood behind their product. Sadly, I have found none of this to be true. I will never purchase another Honda, and I have advised my friends and family to avoid making a purchase they will regret. I have also filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs. On July 20, during the hottest stretch of weather we have had in Vermont in a long time, my air conditioner quit. I looked it up on the internet to see if there was a quick fix. I was hoping maybe it was a fuse or something simple and I was surprised to find report after report and complaint after complaint about the air conditioner compressors quitting in the Honda CR-Vs. I went to a local garage, where they verified it was indeed the air conditioner compressor.Since my mileage was beyond the warranty, but the car is only a 2008, I called Honda to see if they could offer any assistance with replacing this very expensive part and was advised that I needed to have a dealer diagnose the issue. After making a 45-minute trip to a dealer for a 5-minute appointment, to verify the problem as Honda asked me to do. I again called to see if I could receive some assistance, anything, I was just hoping theyd pay half of it, just something to help me out and make a goodwill gesture. I spoke to a woman who was extraordinarily unhelpful and unsympathetic. She just kept repeating it was beyond warranty. I fully understand what a warranty is, and I explained to her that if it were under warranty I would have just taken it to a dealer in the first place and had it fixed! If my car were the only one with this problem, I would have accepted it as my bad luck and gone on my merry way. However, my research has shown that this has happened to many Honda owners and the part appears to be defective! The right thing for Honda to do would be to accept some of the responsibility for this defective part and offer owners some sort of assistance in making the repair. It makes me terribly sad that your company has chosen to not do the right thing. While trying to scrape up the money to have my air conditioner fixed, I had to borrow a friends car (a very reliable, older model Subaru with a working air conditioner), in order to take my 90-year-old father to the doctor because he is unable to tolerate the heat due to his age and his health. I was embarrassed to tell him that my 3-year-old car had such an expensive issue already. If it werent for the necessity of having air conditioning to drive my elderly parents around safely, I wouldnt even have had it fixed. In Vermont, we dont use air conditioning very often, which adds to the evidence that there is something wrong with this part as it couldnt possibly be overused in three short years. Especially in a state with such a short summer.I have enclosed a copy of the bill for my repair in the hope that your company will reconsider and take this opportunity to do the right thing and reimburse me for a repair that I should never have had to make. Sincerely,A very disappointed first and last time Honda owner

After 6 weeks, I received a call on 08.05.2012 from my dealer that Honda reported there were four burnt spare parts (electrical boards) and were not under warranty claim! I bought my 02 Accord brand new, and now have 174K on the clock. Ive replaced the transmission 3 times, and finally found a shop here in San Francisco that built it correctly. They told me that Honda transmissions are unlike any other standard transmission design and they fail often. Theres too much pressure kept in the torque converter, and not enough return fluid for the unit to function correctly. There are several aftermarket fixes, of course, that you have to pay for. When I picked my car up at the shop, there were 3 Accords, 3 Odysseys and 2 MDXs. I called American Honda to ask for some sort of help seeing as this is my 3rd time around the pony show - nothing. Shame on Honda for being so stupid in their design. Im not going back for more.

I have purchased several Honda cars over the years only to find, in 2019, how far Honda has fallen from its benchmark. I will never buy another Honda automobile. I had the great misfortune of choosing a dealership in Racine, Wisconsin (Racine Honda) to buy a 2019 Honda CRV. When I arrived to take delivery, I noticed that several of the options I had ordered were either not installed or not installed properly. When I pointed this out to the salesman and expressed my displeasure (sincerely but in a business-like manner), the salesman simply walked away from me and did not return. Neither did anyone else and, after ten minutes, I left the dealership. On my way home from this unbelievable experience, I called the dealership manager and expressed my displeasure with the salesman. Incredibly, the manager hung the phone up on me. The message was obvious: Mr. Customer, we got your money, now get out of here. With the dealership showing no regard for my problem, I called Honda corporate. Amazingly, Honda corporate would take no action to address my concerns. In short, Honda corporate told me that they created a file in regard to my problem, but that no action would be taken to resolve my concerns. When you make your important decision on how to spend your hard-earned money, I suggest you remember this experience. Honda will be only too happy to take your money, but as my experience relates, do not expect this company to come to your aid should you have an experience of the kind described here. Absolutely shameful!

I purchased a new, 2022 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition just a little over two weeks ago. When my vehicle was less than two weeks old, with under 500kms it began throwing warning lights. The awd stopped working and my heater shut down entirely (in minus 30 weather). I was getting a total of eight different warning lights and I couldnt move my electric seats to be able to drive safely. Once I got my vehicle home it would no longer start. I figured no big deal, my vehicle hasnt even gone through its first tank of gas, Honda has a great reputation and will take care of me. I have never been so wrong about a manufacturer and have never felt so unappreciated as a customer. It took days to even get my vehicle towed. Ive now spent the past five days on the phone talking with over a dozen different people. Every person I spoke with said it was a different department or persons responsibility. Literally just passing the buck back and forth between Honda Customer Relations, Honda Roadside Assistance and the dealership. I even had my call dropped at one point. After being juggled around for days I finally demanded to speak to a supervisor at Honda Customer Relations. Customer relations told me that supervisors dont speak on the phone with customers. I thought I must have misheard what I was being told. I can buy a forty dollar watch from China and get a supervisor on the phone but not for a new vehicle? I spent 60k on a vehicle two weeks ago (though I havent actually been able to drive it for nearly half the duration of ownership) and Honda Canada doesnt even value me enough as a customer to allow me to speak to someone above the person answering the phone. I was told the only way I would be able to speak to a supervisor is if I was injured or if my vehicle injured someone else. Theyre lucky that I was able to pilot my heater less vehicle from a near laying position back to my house without injuring someone. I however, was not so lucky, as apparently an accident is the only way that you rate high enough to speak to someone with an answer other than we dont take care of that or its someone elses responsibility. Thats what it ultimately comes down to...caring. Honda obviously no longer cares if its customers are safe or remotely satisfied. My vehicle is sitting at the dealership 170kms away from my home, after it broke down due to no fault of my own. Not my fault but my problem. Hondas suggestion was either rent a vehicle on my dollar or talk to my insurance company about getting a rental. Honda Canada, as you have made blatantly clear at this point, your (technically my, though I dont actually have possession) malfunctioning, unsafe vehicle has become solely my problem after I signed on the dotted line. I however, will never buy another Honda and I will let everyone who will hear it know that Honda no longer stands behind their product and definitely not their customer. This has been unequivocally the worst buying experience Ive had to date. Im sitting here in utter disbelief, sick to my stomach trying to figure out how to get my new vehicle back home. I recommend that if youre shopping for a new vehicle that you dont just assume that Honda still stands for reliability and customer service as I had. Look into the customer complaints, class action lawsuits and youll likely figure out that Honda has adopted the money first, customer last stance that so many manufacturers are moving towards. Let my expensive mistake guide you away from a company that no longer embodies what used to be synonymous with Honda...Trust. Youll pay the Honda premium, theyll pocket your dollars, take your trust, crumple it up and toss it along side you into the trash. I may not speak for all your customers but I think all those youve tossed aside would agree...We arent asking for better.. were demanding it!

The car cut off while I was in the store for five minutes. I was told that if you leave keys in the ignition while off, it drains the battery. No car in my life has that ever happened after leaving the radio in the car on and drained the battery. I had a problem within 3 months of buying a 2008 Honda. The car cut off and wouldnt start, and it did it again last night. I took it in before and the first time I took it in, the battery was fine. They checked the battery today and they said it was no good but it happened a total of 4 times and there was a recall on the car. It happened to other people and which shouldnt have happened. It cut off last night and no key was in the ignition and the battery died. I spoke to Ron, store manager, and the service manager and they refuse to change the battery. All they did was to charge up the battery because they wanted me to purchase a battery for $159 which is a problem. Because there was a problem a few months after I bought the car and I brought in for the same thing now, in less than a year. Honda told me that if you leave the key in the car, the car still is drawing power even though the key is off. I kid you not. My mom was in the car for five min. and the battery died. Honda of Roanoke Rapids doesnt care about customer service and doing what is right to satisfy the customer. The battery was going bad before I bought it in March. I will never buy a car again from them. And I have the powertrain warranty and American Honda forced me to get it and wont cover squat. I was forced to take it by American Honda or else they would not approve my loan. This was Honda of Roanoke Rapids. How many did they force to take warranty out so they can get more money from them?

I own a 2011 Honda Accord of which I bought brand new in May of this year. Within three days of buying, I turned on the A/C and it wouldnt work. I took it in and they said that it wasnt plugged in from the factory. The funny thing is that I had the checklist from the factory and the A/C was signed off as working. Hmm! The second incident was when the car had about 3,000 miles and the check engine light came on. I took it in and they said that my O2 sensor was bad and they needed to replace it. Upon switching out the O2 sensor, they realized that the VTEC solenoid had a leak and it was leaking oil over the O2 sensors destroying it. They then replaced them both.My Honda now has about 10,000 miles and the A/C quit working again within the past two weeks. I took it in today and they told me that a small rock must have flown through my grill puncturing my A/C condenser and all of the freon leaked out. Now, I need multiple parts replaced. The cost is about $960 and it is not covered by the warranty. The serviceman told my husband that he sees this happening a lot. It is so frustrating to purchase a Honda that is supposed to be one of the most reliable cars and it is constantly failing. I am afraid to pay the grand to fix it only to have it possibly happen again. I think that I have counted eight times that it has been in/out of the shop to either be assessed or fixed. I am so done with Hondas!

We bought an HRV 22 months ago. While driving cross country to my daughters college graduation we stopped in Las Vegas to get something to drink. As we were about to get on the freeway all the lights on the dashboard lit up. Flashing were the words Check Charging System. We took it to Honda West dealership and they told us to come back tomorrow morning and they would look at the vehicle. The next day they had the vehicle for four hours and still did not know what wrong. We left the vehicle with them and rented a car and drove back home. A month later they said they had everything fixed. They found that rodents had eaten through the cabin air filter and damaged the wiring inside the vehicle. After getting home with the vehicle I took the cabin air filter out to see how I could keep the rodents out of my vehicle. The dealership put the old filter back into the vehicle. It had two holes in it that were 2-3 inches wide, full of rodent excrement and smelled like urine. I removed the plastic cover between the front hood and the front windshield. About 3 inches below the windshield on the passenger side was a 4 inch by 12 opening going through the firewall into the Ac unit. Below the opening was a 3 1/2 inch wide shelf for the rodents to sit on. I got a piece of hardware cloth with 1/4 openings and four self-tapping sheet metal screws and covered the hole to keep the rodents out.The cost of repair was about $1.50, the cost from Honda West Dealership for the rodent damage was $ 9,720.10. This is a bad design by Honda, to allow this kind of access for rodents into their vehicle. I understand this is the same design on all of their crossover vehicles. How much money has Honda Corporation made off of this design because of rodent damage?

I have a new 2016 Civic and it is a great car. It is my fourth Civic, but there are a couple of things that I do not like about it. It does not have a CD player in it. I do not like any of the stations on the radio and I do not like the music of today. I loved listening to my music from the 50s, 60s and some of the 70s, but now I cannot do that because you opted not to put CD players in your new cars. I am not a person that has a Ipod, so that is not an option to listen to. I was very disappointed when I found out about this feature. The trunk door lock on the drivers door is an annoyance. I cannot reach the door handle to close the door when I get in so I have to grab on to the pocket where the button for the trunk button is and 9 out of 10 times I hit it and have to get out of the car to close the trunk. Why didnt you leave it where it was on the 2013 Civics??? Whoever makes these changes should think of the Seniors that purchase these vehicles and leave some things alone. Other than those two features that I just explained, the car is great and I do love it. Thank you for listening.

Beyond dissatisfied with horrible paint quality and worse customer service
Beyond dissatisfied with horrible paint quality and worse customer service from Honda USA. I am awaiting a reply from consumer affairs with regards to my wifes 2014 Honda Accord, purchased new from Jim Coleman Honda in Clarksville, Maryland. My wife purchased the vehicle, along with an extended paint protection warranty (to protect the paint finish against premature wear, rust, staining, etc.), which covers the vehicle for 7 years from the date of purchase. In the past 6 months, we have taken note that the factory paint finish has begun to shrink and peel back from the rear window glass along the surrounding body panels. We notified the dealership, and they advised that there is a known factory defect with vehicles finished in Pearl White (my wifes paint color) and dark metallic blue, where this pattern has been observed. There are countless accounts of this paint defect online. Some representative web posts are linked below; There are many more... https://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/2014/body_paint/inferior_paint_and_clear_coat.shtml https://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/2014/body_paint/paint_peeling.shtml https://www.autobody-review.com/blog/what-is-happening-to-my-honda-paint-problems https://www.driveaccord.net/threads/paint-peeling-away-pics-included.544831/?fbclid=IwAR0rabgCs3mFj6yijicnLY4m2v_v00HGgNbyD2Fu898TA-kGuy_QDaT3qo0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SE3HLhHYh0wThere is even an entire Facebook group dedicated to raising awareness and seeking remediation to this obvious manufacturers defect: https://www.facebook.com/groups/389497225179056/. The dealer advised that they believed this to be a factory defect, and not a warranty issue and reached out to Honda, USA on our behalf. We were advised that resolution was reached with Honda, USA and they agreed to pay on a 90/10 basis (90% of the repair costs would be paid by Honda; we would be responsible for 10%) and we were asked to bring the vehicle in to a Honda Certified Repair Facility (Chandlers Collision Center in Columbia, MD).We brought the vehicle in to the recommended shop, and while we were able to obtain a repair estimate, the shop adjuster began scraping at the paint (causing further damage) which left an extremely unpleasant feeling about the shop. When we asked to see samples of paint work they had completed, the adjuster showed me 2 vehicles on the lot -- each one worse than the previous in terms of color match, paint texture and body work quality. Further, we were advised that Honda would not stand behind this shops work, despite telling us that this was their shop of preference, deferring any quality issues with the repair to the repair facility policies. We advised Jim Coleman Honda of our desire to have the repair performed at another facility that we had located (also Honda Certified): Subway Auto Body in Gambrills, MD. We had the opportunity to meet with this shop manager/owner who was very understanding of the nature of the repairs needed, the process needed to repair correctly and warrantied workmanship integrity. We asked about having the repair performed at this facility instead, and were advised that Jim Coleman would look into this with Honda and get back to us.Weeks went by without any feedback despite numerous calls to both Honda and Jim Coleman, and finally I escalated the issue with Honda, USA. I received a call-back from Honda advising that we took too long to schedule the repair, and therefore they were no longer accepting responsibility. The Honda representative would not allow me to get a word in edgewise, despite pleading with them that the reason the repair was not scheduled was due to a lack of response in how to proceed on their end. They refused to listen, vulgarities were exchanged, and they refuse to address this matter. Subsequent calls into Honda, and we are seemingly black-listed from speaking with a representative.Bottom line, we have email traffic assuring us that the repair would be covered at a 90/10 split, numerous inquiries on how to proceed that went unanswered, and now we are left with a nearly $2,500 repair bill for a factory defect. The shop owner at Subway has also attempted to reach out to Honda on our behalf and they wont even return a phone call -- mind you this shop pays annual fees to remain an accredited Honda Repair facility, so this says a great deal for Honda, USA in general. Since the time when we first notified Honda of the issue, the damage has spread to the full surround of the rear glass and is continually growing larger. It is despicable that Honda refuses to accept responsibility and worse that their lack of customer service follow through has only delayed remediation.

All the trunks leak. All the cup holders break or stay stuck open. Constant replacing spark plugs and wires. You have to rev them like mad (but the most of you know the VTEC deal). The worst is the radiator issue. Also, expensive brake jobs. Around 80K miles they have to be replaced. The cat heat shields on all. Yes, there are worse cars out there. But, Honda is way overrated. My first Honda, 89si, they told me the payments would be 254 a month. Being gifted mathematically, I told him he was off 25 bucks. Show me your work. He wouldnt. I then ran the numbers by him and lo and behold, he never counted in my down payment. Then the clutch went bad at 800 miles and they said it was a moving part. I told them I would burn the car in front of their place. My brother, an attorney, fixed the problem. He also found out the finance guy and a girl got arrested. This was Martins Honda in Manhattan. But I never had another issue with that car, outside of the spark plug, radiator, cat shield and cup thing. Wrecked it and bought a 95ex. Cat shield, leaky trunk, same issues as above but the clutch was fine. Replaced the radiator. Bought a 2002 ex, Same issues as above minus the clutch. I guess Id rather know the enemy than roll the dice. Still have the car but its parked in the garage for posterity.Best Honda we ever had was the 98 Odyssey. What a car. Best ratings in Minivan history. My oldest just sold it with a zillion miles on it. We brought into Brewster Honda for a brake job and I had put brand new windshield wipers on it the day before. Went to pick it up and the wipers were swapped out with worn out mismatched metal on glass wipers. I was livid. They told me it wasnt their responsibility if the car was parked outside and someone stole or damaged it. I said, if someone stole them, under the bright all night light, who on earth would take the time to replace them? Common sense. I told them I have another set of keys and Im driving off. See you in court and you know Ill win. They gave me new wipers. My other two Honda I inherited. One blew up after the dealer allegedly put in a new timing belt, the other is an Accord that is old but has the best AC Ive ever been around. Odd as the AC in my Civics were awful. It wont show me as a verified owner but its kind of obvious I am. PS: Go in with your own financing because Honda is the worst at You can get 3% interest if you do this undercoating or whatever and blah blah. Said no the first time and now my answer is, I want out of this room. Where do I sign. It seems like a prevailing theme with auto dealers.Havent bought a Honda since the 02. Someday, if I move south, Id consider an Accord. Seems like so much technology now, that the length of warranty of whatever brand is a starting point. All these techno cars and going to be crazy money to fix. I give the cars 4 stars and the dealers 0 stars. Considering how many truly lousy cars are on the road and that almost all dealers are lame. That should come out to 2 but you dont deal with them much. So Ill say 3 stars. Of course, everyone reads 1 star and 5 star reviews (looking for consistency in the good and or the bad), so this wont be read by too many.

Windshield was cracked and has chips in it. It was not repaired, dealer said it was repaired. The chips are still there and the headlight on right side out of alignment. Dealer said it was fixed, it wasnt. I had a different tech at the dealer look at the light, and he fixed it with in 5 min. The main issue is the air temperature between the dash vent and floor is greatly different. The dealer said it is normal. When I picked up my car, I was told I could compare my car to another which I did. The air temp in the second car was I feel it should be the dash air temp and the floor temp was the same temp. The tech also agreed there was an issue. My issue that the dealer is saying things got fixed but really they didnt. What’s up with Checked Flag Virginia Beach, VA.? I will be talking to Checked Flag on Monday, 01 30 2012 about this issues.

I called Honda because I bought a new 2016 HR-V EX AWD which has the keyless system. The owners guide states I can unlock all doors with the trunk release. It does not and I learned that the owners manual states something different. I also complained to the phone contact because the only door that opens all doors is the passenger door, unlike past vehicles I have had where pushing the button twice opens all doors. I was told this was a security feature of the vehicle. However, it would be just as secure if it required two pushes for all doors and only the current handle grab for the drivers door. When I asked how to get both issues repaired I was told the drivers door was engineered that way and could not be fixed because it was not broken. They will be calling back about the trunk to clarify which is correct, the owners guide or owners manual.I was pleased the company is willing to respond quickly but am entirely dissatisfied with their denial that the doors could be altered given that this version of the car is quite a bit more money than the version with remote entry instead of keyless entry. As the driver, I either have to fish the key fob out of my purse or make my kids wait until I am inside the car to let them in. Im having to train them to stop yanking on the door handles until I am inside. Worse is that I cannot open the back doors myself without the same maneuvering, difficult if I am hauling items I have stored in the back seat.

The Honda chipped key dilemma - I understand that they did it for security
The Honda chipped key dilemma - I understand that they did it for security but when the car gets old, its the poor people who have to deal with the cost of the chipped key. The insurance companies twisted Hondas arm to install the security devices instead of leaving the decision up to the consumer. Here is the situation of someone I know who is a student: He has a 98 Honda Accord, very old and beat up but it gets him to school. That person lost their key and was left stranded. They called a locksmith and said they could not help because only Honda and a few other places would be able to help. The other costly thing was that not only did he have to pay for the special key, he would have to tow the car to that place to get it fixed. Expenses paid were $600 for losing a stupid key. Just imagine the nightmare if you were somewhere really far from home.

A week ago, I had a good experience with Honda sales which included a Salesman patiently pairing my phone with the Bluetooth. A week after the connection kept breaking which was verified by the salesman. He tried to connect his own phone to my Bluetooth and was unable to do so. Subsequently another salesman tried another phone which he was able to connect. The second salesman went into the service department to see if he could get any help at which time the Service Manager informed him that Honda does not support the (originally Sprint) Virgin Mobile service and showed him the Honda Canadian Website. I wrote to the Sales Manager, explaining that: 1) I was never informed that the Bluetooth was only available with certain providers, 2) My phone had worked for a week, 3) Another salesman was not able to pair his phone either and 4) My phone clearly recognizes the Honda Bluetooth even though the Honda Bluetooth has stopped recognizing my phone. I need to be helped. Have not heard back from him. Please help. Thanks.

March 2016, I received a safety recall notice from Honda advising me that the airbags in my 2008 Honda CR-V were defective and if deployed, could cause injury or death. The notice went on to say that the replacements parts to make the necessary repairs were not available and may not be available for months, but offered to provide a replacement vehicle if desired, at no cost to me.Now, since they had advised me that driving my car could result in my death, and offered free alternate transportation, I thought it would be foolish to continue to drive the car. So, I took my car to the dealer where I purchased the car from, Gillman Honda, in Schertz Texas. They had no cars available to loan, but offered to provide me with an Enterprise Rental. As there had been a major hailstorm in the Greater San Antonio area a couple of days before, Enterprise had no suitable vehicles. I was therefore advised to attempt to rent a vehicle on my own and I would be reimbursed up to $35 per day.I placed several calls and found a suitable vehicle at an Avis franchise operation. After a month, the car had to be returned in accordance with Avis policy, at which time, we rented another similar vehicle. About half a month into the second rental, I received a call from Gillman Honda telling me that they had made an agreement with Hertz to rent cars to Honda owners affected by the recall and needed alternate transportation. So, I turned in the rental car, and rented a vehicle from Hertz with Gillman Hondas approval for the remainder of the time Gillman was waiting on the necessary parts, which turned out to be in August. In all, I had 2 Hertz vehicles for about 2 months. (It is also necessary to return Hertz vehicles after a month for safety reasons.) After I received my repaired vehicle in August, I sent evidence of my out of pocket expenses (rental agreements) along with the Gillman invoice describing the repair. In September, I contacted Honda to make sure that they had received the documentation, to be told that my claim for reimbursement was denied because it couldnt be verified that I had actually paid the charges to Avis. I then sent copies of my American Express statements showing the charges and subsequent payments. I was told at that time by the case worker at Honda, that I would be reimbursed in 6 to 8 weeks. That was September 2016. After November, repeated calls have resulted in the same answer, Its under review. In December of 2016, I received a bill from Hertz saying that because Honda had not paid for the vehicle they had provided me, I was legally responsible all charges incurred. A phone call to Hertz revealed that Honda owed them MILLIONS of dollars and had not responded to repeated phone calls. It appears Honda does not intend to, or has been advised not to pay for charges incurred as a result of the Takata airbag recall. It is impossible to reach anyone other than the Its under review people who clearly cannot help. The parts are evidently available now, so you may not have to have alternate transportation for any length of time, but if you do, be careful of any financial exposure.

I purchased my first car, a Honda Civic Ex 2009, back in May 2009. I loved this car, until it started giving me troubles. Before the 60K, they have already replaced the motor brackets, the battery, and the TPMS sensors (4 times). Yes, the TPMS sensors have been replaced 4 times in the last 3 months. Last month, I had a flat tire; and no light came on. I stopped due to a strange noise and realized that I had a flat. I contacted the dealer, and they said the light does not come on until you driven over 28MPH. Well, I left it like, I drove it for a couple miles, and the light came back on. I figure it needed air pressure. After a few miles, the light came back off. The dealer had already replaced the sensor 4 times before this, and again, the TPMS sensor light came back on again yesterday. I contacted the dealer to explain to them about the situation, and they said they wanted me to bring in the vehicle for check-up. I scheduled an appointment. I also contacted Honda headquarters (for the second time) and spoke to Mohammed. I told him about the situation I was going through, and he asked me what should I expect from Honda. I told him that at this point, I was so regretful that I purchased a vehicle that was broken from the beginning, that the vehicle is non fixable, and that I wanted to return it. He said that I needed to go back to the dealer and return the vehicle. I did not like his attitude; he did not even try to resolve this issue. He said if I had already made up my mind, then I should go ahead and return the vehicle. I mean, if Im paying for this car, the least that Honda should do for me is a replacement. Shouldnt I? Well, Honda, the least that you can do at this time is give a replacement vehicle or the money that I have paid you for this piece of crap! I will like you to do this before I take matters further. At this point, I am tired of having to drive an unsafe and broken vehicle made from you, Honda. I am tired of going back to dealers to get the car fixed. I am tired of you, Honda, not paying attention to your customers! If you do not resolve this issue, I promise that I will no longer ever in my life purchase another vehicle made from Honda or its affiliates. And Im only 24. Guess how many cars I would buy from now until I cant drive anymore!

In my opinion this is not the way to treat a LOYAL customer. I have sent many individuals to purchase this brand---No more. Customer loyalty is not of high value to HONDA.

Well let me start by saying Honda has been my go-to for many years, 14 Honda automobiles, 10 Honda motorcycles, 6 pieces of Honda outdoor power equipment. I must say though the last 2006 Honda Civic that I purchased with 64K miles has bittered me after having to put a motor in this car for a problem that Honda knew they had but refused to stand behind it. After some minor research I have discovered Honda had a major engine block casting problem between 2006-2009 in the civics. I think a recall would have been a better choice for Honda owners rather than a lousy extended warranty period. Honda informed me that I was just out of luck, after all the car does have 64K miles. How much more were you expecting? It was very misfortunate for me as I bought the car privately. What was even sadder is that I am really convinced that the people who sold me this car knew there was a problem, they possibly received the same great customer service from Honda that I did. VERY POOR HONDA MOTOR COMPANY. THE SAYING GOES ONE UPSET CUSTOMER GOES FURTHER THAN ONE HAPPY CUSTOMER!

My 2019 Honda Civic, brand new 3 weeks ago, has been in the Honda service department 7 times for the same problem. The low tire pressures warning light goes on after 2 days driving out of the service department. I have been given 7 different explanations & as many attempted repairs... Down to new tires. The problem is still NOT resolved. I bought this car for my teenage daughter because of its purported reliability & safety. The last time it arrived to the shop with a flat tire due to “manufacturing defect”! 1 of the 4 tires was replaced. Today they are saying a 2nd tire needs replacing. Would you allow your teenage daughter to drive this car? I am extremely distressed and she has spent more of her college summer break waiting at the dealer! This situation meets the trifecta of the LEMON LAW criteria. This vehicle is unreliable & downright dangerous.

I recently received a recall notice for a new Honda SXS we purchased. The recall was for a safety issue related to the steering joint assembly. They say they will repair it free of charge. Keep in mind, upon receipt of this notice it is no longer safe to operate the vehicle until an inspection/repair is performed. Thus, rendering the vehicle unusable. The local dealer wants to charge to come pickup the unit or the owner must bring the unit to the dealer for the inspection/repair. Due to COVID-19 we decided to go with the first option. However, thats an additional $100-$150 charge from the dealer for a problem that Honda created! Asked American Honda is they would reimburse and they decided to recite the warranty which exempts them from paying for the transportation. Under normal circumstances this would be acceptable, however, due to COVID one would think they would make an exception and do the right thing for a lifelong customer. NOPE! There are simply too many choices out there when it comes to vehicles and too many other companies willing to do the right thing. Honda will never see my business again and I would recommend anyone looking for a Honda to reconsider and go with a more customer oriented organization that would be more deserving of your business.

So my car note had been behind for month due to the fact that my husband had lost his job, and I have been the bread winner. My carnote of my 2011 Fit had fallen behind, but I always sent them SOMETHING. Fast forward I come off my day shift at work and notice that my car was gone:(. I frantically called Honda like hey did you guys repo the car? And the Rep. said, Well the car is in repo status, but it does not show in our system as being picked up or not. She made a few phone calls and said that she would not know until one of the many companies they work with send in the proper documents stating that the car was picked up. Long story short Honda required me to pay a repo fee to the city (Torrance, Ca which was 12$ to the city Court House) pay the repo fee, and bring my past due balance current. The only thing that sucks is the process of running out of time during the day and having to wait a whole nother day which equals another day of storage fees. My car was picked up on a Thursday. My fees were paid that Friday afternoon, but because I paid a little after 4 pm the lot was closed :( and I had to wait until Monday to get my car. I must say my situation was HORRIBLE, but it wasnt because of Honda. And Out of all the reps I spoke to they were not all that rude to me (They were kinda like demanding and one person told me more information than they were suppose to but hey he was being nice). So all and all once my account was brought up to date Honda faxed over the release paper. I was able to go to the lot and get my car. (I did have to pay a storage fee of 362.50 CASH???) But I cant just say Honda made the process harder than what it was. If I have anything to complain about its the fact that these lots close SO EARLY and are not open on weekends and cont. to charge you :(. But I just got my car released to me today. After being gone from Thursday December 15 till Monday December 19...

My son purchased a new 2013 Honda CRX from Colby Honda, Northridge, CA. When he took his car in for the last service they impounded his car for what they said, a period of about two months. Further, they told him he would not receive his car back until the airbag is replaced or he signed a waiver releasing Honda from any liability for damage or injury caused by the faulty airbag. The dealership did provide my son with a poor quality 2002 loaner car that had 100,040 miles on the odometer. Last week he took a trip and the cars engine warning light came on.In the meantime my son is making the monthly payments for his impounded Honda CRX. He tried to contact Honda Corporation and was referred back to the dealership. The customer service person at the dealership was rude and not helpful. I believe Honda should provide its customer with a loan car that is at least equal to the car he is making payments on or waive his scheduled payments until they return his car. The airbag problem is the responsibility of Honda, not the customer. I would assume numerous other customers are dealing with this same issue. In the meantime, Honda continues to sell and deliver new cars that must have compliant airbags. What can be done to correct the problem?

Three different men drove the car three different times on the main road including the technician and claimed nothing is wrong with the car. They refused to service it or even take a look at it. I told them not to drive out my gas and my mileage. They still took the car anyways and drove it around. The manager asked at first I said no then yes. He also did everything to try and keep the car on the road but still refused to service it or replace the gas in my car. As he was testing the car he was raising his voice at me saying its the road the car is pulling because of the road. I will never ever return to any Honda dealer to service or purchase a car. To give some background, I purchased a 2014 Honda Accord Coupe in June of 2017. Roughly two months after, the car began to have problems where to vehicle would not start the first time I pushed the start button. Over the next few day, the problem became progressively worse. I took to vehicle into the Heritage Honda in Towson, Maryland and reported the matter to the service manager, John ** who informed me that there was nothing he could do until the problem could be recreated. Please keep in mind that the vehicle had not reached 36K miles when I brought in for it to be checked. Fast forward to October 7, 2017 when I took the vehicle in for a recall repair and explained to the technician the same problems I shared with John. Again, I was told there was nothing they could do. I left the vehicle to have the recall repair completed and received a call from the service advisor who notified me that I needed to replace the starter. I was very shocked to hear this, as I stated before the car had JUST hit 36K miles before I brought it in for repair. She gave the cost of the repair, and I approved it.After doing some research when these symptoms with the intermittent starting began, I see that this has been an ongoing problem with Hondas since. There was even a service bulletin for this very issue for 2014 Honda Accord (V6). So my question is, if there was a problem with the starter for the same year and model of my car (minus the V6 engine) why wouldn’t your company recall vehicles that were not V6? That seems like the fair thing to do.Needless to say that I am not a very happy Honda owner at this time. I have been a very loyal Honda supporter, and would like to continue to do so. I feel Honda should do was is morally right and reimburse me for the monies I paid to replace the starter. I have been working with Allen in customer service with the hopes of amicably resolving this matter, but unfortunately he was only able to offer me a $500 Honda gift card to be used for future purchases/services at any Honda Services. This does not seem like a customer oriented resolution. This makes it a win-win for Honda. I’m still out of my $800 that I paid to replace the starter, and you get the $500 back into Honda for any services that I may need in the future. Just doesn’t seem fair.

We have a 2013 Honda Odyssey in white. On June 1st 2019 Honda issued a service bulletin saying they would fix the defective pealing paint on “certain” VIN numbers. Luckily our car was one of those approved VIN numbers, HOWEVER.... they claim that they will ONLY repaint 2 areas on our car, the roof and the tailgate. We have other visible areas starting to flake off and peel away, especially around our windows and it’s only a matter of time before the rest of this faulty paint falls off. It’s the ENTIRE CAR that’s covered in this defective paint, repainting only a couple areas is NOT OKAY! We are extremely furious and want our car completely painted in order to fully fix our cars paint!

I would highly advise against ever purchasing a Honda vehicle as they have very sketchy lease turn in practices. My husband (a former Honda technician) and I turned in our 2 vehicles with the intent of purchasing 2 new Hondas, however they did not have any good deals going on so we chose to go with another brand. A month after turning our vehicles in we received a letter stating we owe close to 400 dollars for what I would consider to be normal wear and tear on my husbands vehicle (one small dent on one of the doors, a small tear in the floor under the accelerator and a small crack in the windshield which had just been replaced a few month prior, and had they told us this we could have gotten it fixed free through our insurance.) Our person who sold us our new vehicles told us they are pissed because we didnt purchase Hondas again, oh well we would have if they were more willing to make a deal!Apparently on their website somewhere it says in fine print that before turning your vehicle in you can have your own inspection done. Who in their right mind would think to go looking for something like this, or even think that they would need to do this. Our vehicles sat on the lot where they were turned in for 11 days before they were inspected by someone from Honda, we did not turn them in with a crack in the windshield and dent in the door so this obviously happened while in their possession.Following a few letters from an attorney on our behalf acknowledging that we are willing to pay to replace the carpet (even though I feel it is normal wear and tear) but we feel the other things are not our responsibility, Honda sent the matter to a collection agency without even trying to remedy the situation. Honda did not even reach out to discuss this matter with us, they just dismissed it completely showing they dont really care about their customers being happy. Had this have been resolved in a better manner, in 3 years when our leases are up if they had good deals going on we would have gone back to Honda, however now we will NEVER purchase a Honda vehicle again. I will also advise anyone we know who is thinking about purchasing a Honda vehicle not to for the rest of my life!

I have a Honda Accord that my husband bought for me. The car is 2 years old now and I just had taken it in for service on my brakes. I mentioned that I hate this car because of the road noise. They said its probably your tires and $1200.00 later I have new tires and new brakes but my car is quiet now. They said I should have brought it back after I first got my car. Well, in my opinion it should have been right to begin with. I had NEVER owned a Honda before! I ran into 2 other people that had the same problem with their Hondas. I have no idea what type of tires the factory puts on their cars - but Honda should start with the best - if they want repeat customers.

This email regards a horrible customer service experience I have had with Honda. I have had a problem with my 2017 Hatch - the center console randomly begins a series of beeps (beep-beep-beep) and throws my iPhone, especially the navigation system, off of the system. I have video recorded the problem happening and taken it to my dealer and another dealer on 4 occasions. They cannot replicate the problem.I called Honda USA to seek additional help. My case was given to a case manager - LUIS - who argued with me, made me cry on every phone conversation, even angered my even-tempered husband. I am seeking help with this problem and all I got was verbal abuse. When I asked to speak to a manager or another agent, I was told by LUIS that I could only speak with him. This one experience - this one experience alone - has decided me that Honda is not the company for me. You seem not to care about a problem that I am sure with time will end up in some sort of recall situation - I simply cant imagine that my car is the only one having this problem. If your customer service is so uncaring and apathetic, then I simply cant be a part of this company.

Always had Hondas. We love their reliability. Wish the Pilot was less expensive, thats a favorite. Had a Pilot for years but I had to retire it. We now have a Civic and an Accord. Only problem with the 2016 Civic was the air conditioning but Honda is reimbursing customers for this.

My company purchased a Honda Accord Automatic [P 262, Engine No. K24Z 20001515; Chassis No. G8N000825] on 28-July-2008 from the Dealer in Bardoli, Gujarat, for my use. Ever since then, the car engine cannot be started if by chance the driver runs cabin fan (i.e., fan without AC) for more than 10 to 15 minutes. I have then to call Honda Service who send on chargeable basis, a vehicle to tow the battery to jump start the car. Thereafter, the car carries on.This has happened four times at odd places and at odd times. Fed up with the problem, I tried to diagnose the problem my self and to my horror I discovered that the original battery provided by Honda is too small and to camouflage this a plastic encasement has been place around the battery so that the impression given is that the battery is of proper size. In width it is shorter by about 50 mm. I had not expected this from a Japanese Company since I have been of the opinion that Japanese do not cheat their customers.

I purchased a new 2020 Honda Talon from Nash Motorsport, Mesa, AZ. I purchased the pre-paid service contract and extended warranty. I live in Mesa, Arizona and the vehicle has been ridden in AZ and once in Southern CA. The vehicle has never been in snow, sand dunes or extensive mud. Most of the driving is typical to the Box Canyon area in AZ or Queen Valley; sand roads and routes. Very rarely has LOW gear ever been used except for a few steep hills. The transmission would not stay in gear during a hill climb and I turned it into Dealer for service immediately not to cause more damage in November. The vehicle is still there. The warranty customer support is horrible to deal with and no escalation process except open claim. They call you back with same answer. NO escalation process. Honda has out right lied and said the vehicle was driven in a way it was not and the damage was caused by switching back and forth between low and high. This is an out right lie.

The brand new Hondas safety features do not work. The ceiling leaks when it rains. The mileage on the car is from going back and forth to the dealer without repairs ever made. When I call Honda corporate, they say there is nothing they will do. They also interrupt, talk over me, and are extremely rude & unprofessional. That is unacceptable, so I keep calling back. So, while I am making payments on a brand new Honda that I cant drive and it rains inside the vehicle, they bully me and tell me they are going to charge me with harassment because I keep calling. Haha! As an emergency flight nurse working alongside police, I can just see how the police will investigate Hondas claims when I show them my lemon vehicle. Hell, theyll start calling Honda for me!

I own a 2008 Honda Ridgeline that is at about 60,000 miles. I have taken especially good care of this vehicle with regular maintenance updates. Overall, other than the poor gas mileage (best is 20 mpg on highway), it has been a good vehicle. The problem is that two exhaust sensors have had to be replaced already at a cost almost $1,000.00, not to mention waiting at the Wilde Honda Dealership in Sarasota, Florida for many hours at a time. I cant imagine why the sensors have gone out already, and the incredible costs they have incurred. Honda has a reputation for build quality. Unfortunately when they do need repairs, the cost is an arm and a leg. Just FYI my other car, a 2010 Ford Flex has and still is running relatively problem free at 85,000 miles so far.

I have a 2017 Honda CRV Touring. Bought in Nov. of 2017. Has 11, 500 miles on it. Counting the original battery it is now on its 3rd one. As of July 5, 2019 I have had the 6th dead battery. Ive had every excuse under the sun for these. First one was that we had to keep the key fobs for electronic start more than 20 feet from the vehicle when not in use. Electrical components in them will drain the battery. Most recent excuse was we dont drive vehicle enough. Was told to take car out on the highway at least once a week, drive 10 miles at 50 MPH and then return 10 miles. This is necessary to keep the battery charged. Rarely does vehicle ever sit 1 day without being driven and driven every week multiple times over 20 miles at 50 MPH. Other people have had same complaints with identical vehicle. I am in process of filing claim under Pa. Lemon Law. My 2nd and last Honda.

Hello, I visited Metro Honda service center on 4/8/2019 for regular service
Hello, I visited Metro Honda service center on 4/8/2019 for regular services. They change oil in my car on 28,503 miles and my current miles is 30,245 so just after I drive 1742 miles my cars oil life is 60% left. Actually when my car was on 30,000 miles that time I found that my cars oil life is now just 60% left. I clearly feels that this service center done something wrong with my car because as per my research I know that Honda Civic 2016 Ex-T model have synthetic oil and that have normally life of 7500 miles. In my car already 40% oil life is finished so I will get oil change soon around at 31,500-32,000 miles (from now after 1500 to 2000 miles). Every time I go to this service center and they are only the people changing oil in my car when this time I went there that customer service representative asked me that, Why are you just coming here for oil change and and why tire rotation and other services you are not giving us to do it here. I told them because they are charging too much money and not doing proper services so then customer service representative told me that, then why do you came here for oil change, go to the another service center who ever is giving you cheaper service, and that time I didnt give him any answer but I feel that this is not the right way to talk with the Honda customer. I am using Honda car because I have trust on the company. I strongly feels they did something wrong with my cars oil that why 40% of oil life finished too much early and previously I never seen that my oil life reduce this much faster. I am using my car daily. I have another same model car that is also 2016 Honda civic Ex turbo model and same silver color but that car I bought from another dealer and in that car also I drive same mileage and still in that car I change my cars oil around at 6000+ miles every time. I have trust on Honda that why I am using two same model of cars because I am driving it everyday. So I want refund for this oil change and also I want proper service for my car. I clearly feels that Metro Honda from where I bought my car and there I am going every time for oil change they did something wrong. Also, one more thing I would like to describe here that is before around 10 months ago at this service center they found that in one of my cars back side tire due to manufacturing fault there was something wrong with the brake and that they found after 2 years and 3 months after I drive my car for 24000 miles around. This is the thing which is risky for someones life. So you can imagine how much great services they are providing to the Honda customers.I want you to know that this is not a good business practice where they didnt behave good with the Honda customer and not giving them proper service. Please take some strict action on this and I want a clear justice for my car. Please fix my cars oil life problem. I hope I will get back very soon from the Honda Company and please solve the issue in my car with the oil life. -Harsh

I have a Honda Accord year 2014 version. I bought it during December 2014. All this while I trust Honda quality. I am its fan. However after 1 year of using the Honda Accord, an abnormal irritating noise coming out from the back, around the door, speaker and car boot area. I had send the car to authorize service center for 3 times, however still not able to solve. The irritating noise is getting louder... Everyday early morning while driving the car, the noise spoil my mood. It is testing my patience. With this issue, I am not happy and disappointed with Honda quality. It is in fact worst than a cheap car for the fitness (noise) condition. I am still looking forward for Honda to solve the irritating noise soonest possible. Besides the irritating noise, recently I encounter the wind screen having a few crack mark at the edge. Input from the tinting service provider it is due to the paint peel off. Really unbelievable that Honda can produce this type of quality level. The price of the car paid is really not meeting my expectation on its quality. Just wonder if Honda looks into the user experience and expectation when developing its products.

On October 10, 2017 I had my vehicle in for service with what seemed to be a miss-firing engine. My Service Advisor was Eric **. Mr. ** told me that sediment had accumulated in the bottom of the fuel tank and that they had cleaned it out. After this I began having trouble filling the tank with gas because the pump handle kept disengaging. The car was also running poorly and finally about two weeks later I could not accelerate above 25 miles per hour. At this point I took the car to another car repair shop close to my place of employment (A & M Auto Shop in Jersey City). The owner called and asked me to come down to the shop to see what he had discovered. He had begun to flush out the fuel line and found part of a rag lodged in the pipe. He dropped the fuel tank in order to remove the rest of the fabric and then also found the fingers of a plastic glove sitting inside the small enclosure to the fuel pump. Inside of the gas tank was a wipe rag which had shed particles throughout the inside of the tank. After A & M removed the rag and glove, the car ran well for a while but the mechanic told me that he couldnt tell how much damage had been done to the fuel pump as a result of all the particles (from the rag) that had been sucked into the pump. We do not use this car extensively but planned to take it on a trip to Williamsburg, Virginia in April, 2018. While driving through Washington DC, we noticed a burning smell and the car would not accelerate above 20 miles per hour. We pulled into a Firestone Auto Care Center in Springfield, VA on Saturday afternoon around 4:40 pm. Since the store was closed on Sunday, they could not service the car until Monday morning and we had to pay for two nights in a hotel. On Monday, the Firestone mechanic suggested replacing the catalytic converter. He did so but the problem remained the same. Firestone did not charge for the service since the problem was not fixed. They suggested that we take the car to a nearby Honda dealer. We had the car towed to the Honda dealer who could not service the car until the next day. At this point we had to pay for another nights stay in a hotel. The next day, the dealer informed us that the fuel pump had failed and must be replaced. On our way home from Virginia, the car again began running rough. I have not driven the car since then. I believe that these problems can all be traced to the particles from the rag which corrupted the fuel system. At this point, the car still does not run properly. Since the rag and glove originated in your shop, I am asking that you restore my car to good working order at no additional charge and reimburse me for my expenses thus far -- $2158 (A&M - $475, three nights in the Wingate Hotel - $719, and Virginia Honda - $964). I have the rag and glove that was found in the fuel pump tank as well as video of these items being removed by the A & M mechanic who is willing to attest to what he found. Please contact me on ** so we can resolve this matter. I look forward to hearing from you.

I purchased a 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback in November of 2017. Navigation system has not worked correctly from the beginning and other electronic problems have arisen since. I gave them 8 attempts to fix it, with my car being in the shop a total of 67 days. I started the lemon law process and after the final attempt didnt work, I requested them to buy it back. They sent me a letter declining to do so because they tried to fix it in good faith. They offered me a one time $1500 cash settlement for my time and to keep me a happy customer.I refused and filed with the state for an arbitration hearing. At the hearing, they tried to say EVERYTHING I did could have caused my problems- had to replace my window from a rock and that new window might be causing an interference, using a Bluetooth headpiece separate from the car might cause an interference, having my phone in the car might be causing an interference, using music on a usb drive could have corrupted files and cause an issue. It was horrible. The arbitrator sided on my side and they were told how much they had to pay me back. They sent me a letter stating in order to repurchase it back, they needed several items of information. I faxed all the information requested over the same day. A week later, I get another letter requesting one piece of the information to be sent again like I hadnt already sent it. I overnighted the entire packet to them again. Then, I get a letter saying they are happy to comply and someone would be in touch, but when I dropped off the car, I owed THEM more than $6000 from prior debt I had. I refused and a gentleman called me to explain why, which made no sense. Then the very next day, I get another letter stating that was in fact exactly how much I owed them and I needed to contact the state if I had any further questions concerning it. The state rep said she even chuckled at that one because there was no way they were going to tell me that was correct since it wasnt what the arbitrator decided. During this time, I left a total of 4 voicemails for the Honda representative, and two emails. None of these messages were ever returned. Last week, I FINALLY received a letter stating they were going to comply with the request at the stated amount and someone would be in touch. The very next day on Friday, I was in meetings for a total of 4 hours. During that time, I missed 1 call from Hondas repurchasing vendor about scheduling a time on Monday to return the car. I called her back when I got home, and we scheduled for Monday. She verified everything I would need to bring and I asked if I would be receiving my check at this time. She stated there was no check included in my packet. I told her I did not trust honda enough to give back the car without them complying with ALL the decision. The next morning, I get a call from the same rep saying she has the check as it was overnighted to her for me. The same day, I get a nastygram in the mail from Honda stating they had tried to call me, and sent a letter and had proof that I had received it (the same letter I received that stated someone would be in touch regarding scheduling). The letter continued to state that honda had performed its due diligence in meeting the terms of compliance, but my participation was critical and they were requesting me to extend my full participation in this matter in order to complete the process. (All this because I didnt respond to 1 phone call until 4 hours later, when they have never responded to any of my contact attempts.) The car is scheduled to be picked up tomorrow and I cant get rid of it fast enough. The local dealership has been wonderful (surprisingly for a dealership) and I originally thought about getting another honda because of this reason, but my experience with the actual company has made me swear off Honda for the rest of my life. This was my first and last one and I will take EVERY opportunity to post copies of these stupid letters for others to be aware what this company is really like. I will be posting reviews anywhere possible to warn people NOT to buy a Honda for any reason! Any company that treats its customers with such disrespect is worthless.

I booked and prepaid to have my windshield replaced by Honda in Concord. I paid on May 15th, prior to going to SFO to catch a flight. I was informed by the representative at Honda, that the glass people would need payment up front, and then book a date and time and the glass people will come to Honda and install. Well, here I am, Tuesday, May 28th, been here since prior to 8.30 a.m. My appointment was at nine. First of all, I was told they had no record of our payment for the windshield, which was paid on the 15th. I told them I have the record on my credit card. They said they still dont have record, they then located it after taking my car and finding the receipt in the center console.Anyway, here I am sitting at Honda, Concord, CA, 1.38 p.m., the service person came over approx. 1 hour ago, saying the car had GONE to the window place, and it will take almost all day. Okay, what happened to the window people coming here?!? Also, I have sat here for over 4 hours, unable to go to the bathroom, in case they happened to say it was ready. Also, we paid a large amount of money for a warranty, every time we come in, they cant find it on the computer, and they charge us!! Why dont they ask the financial department, as they have got it from there once before after a fuss from my husband. Now, my husband called, asking to speak to the General Manager of Honda Concord, and was told he wasnt allowed to speak to him. Was he asked to leave a message for the General Manager? No!!! He was told to leave a message for the Service Manager, who is apparently in a meeting and will call my husband back. Lets see how long that takes....
