Kia Automobile Model 2010 Kia Rondo

2010 Kia Rondo

The 2010 Kia Rondo is a compact crossover vehicle known for its versatility, practicality, and affordable price. Here are some key features and information about the 2010 Kia Rondo:

Design: The 2010 Rondo features a compact and boxy design that maximizes interior space. It has a taller stance compared to traditional sedans, providing a more commanding view of the road. Despite its compact size, the Rondo offers ample headroom and legroom for passengers.

Seating and Cargo Capacity: The Rondo typically offers seating for up to five or seven passengers, depending on the configuration. The available third-row seating allows for additional passenger capacity. The rear seats can be folded down to create a flat load floor, expanding the cargo space. With the rear seats folded, the Rondo provides generous cargo capacity for its class.

Engine Options: The 2010 Rondo typically offers two engine options:

2.4-liter four-cylinder engine: This engine produces around 175 horsepower and offers a good balance of power and fuel efficiency. It is typically paired with a four-speed automatic transmission.

2.7-liter V6 engine: This engine generates approximately 192 horsepower and provides slightly stronger performance. It is typically paired with a five-speed automatic transmission.

Fuel Efficiency: The Rondo offers decent fuel efficiency for its class. The exact MPG figures may vary depending on the engine, transmission, and driving conditions. On average, the Rondo achieves around 20-22 miles per gallon (MPG) in the city and 27-29 MPG on the highway.

Safety Features: Standard safety features on the 2010 Rondo typically include antilock brakes, stability control, traction control, front-seat side airbags, and side curtain airbags. Kia has designed the Rondo with safety in mind to provide protection for both the driver and passengers.

Interior Features: The Rondo typically includes features such as air conditioning, power windows and locks, keyless entry, and an audio system with CD player. Depending on the trim level and options, additional features may include leather upholstery, heated front seats, a navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, and a premium audio system.

Affordable Pricing: The Rondo is often regarded as an affordable option in its class, making it an attractive choice for those seeking a versatile and budget-friendly vehicle.

When considering the purchase of a used 2010 Kia Rondo, it's recommended to research the vehicle's maintenance history, condition, and any potential known issues. It's also a good idea to have a pre-purchase inspection conducted by a qualified mechanic or a trusted Kia dealership.

If you're interested in purchasing a used 2010 Kia Rondo, I recommend checking local dealerships, online classifieds, and reputable used car websites to find available options. Be sure to review the vehicle's history, request a test drive, and ask questions about the vehicle's maintenance and condition.

Overall, the 2010 Kia Rondo offers a practical and versatile choice for those seeking a compact crossover with spaciousness, flexibility, and an affordable price point.

I purchased a 2018 Kia Stinger the end of June 2018 and have had nothing but grief since the purchase. Presently the car has 3200 miles on it and has been in the garage multiple times. Ive made several trips to the dealer for a trunk rattle in which they had to put shims in the slam block in the hatch to resolve the problem. Then it was back in the garage because the interior lights quit working. And several weeks ago I backed it out of the garage and shut the car off for a brief time waiting for my husband to get into the car and when he went to start the car all the lights started flashing and the car would not start and the car would not recognize that the key fob was present. I immediately called the Kia dealer and the service manager went home for the evening and no techs available but was advised to have the car towed to Kia or call roadside assistance. This episode caused us to be late for an appointment. To make a long story short the battery had to be replaced the next day interfering with plans that were made for the day. Today my car is @ the dealership once AGAIN for them to monitor a violent jerk in the car which has occurred several times and was told the fuel pump will probably need replaced! They will be keeping the car for several days. Id like to note that I have to drive 35 miles one way to the Kia dealership. A new car is suppose to be a pleasurable satisfying experience and an investment in my hard earned money. This experience of owning my first Kia has been a nightmare causing me inconvenience, stress and grief. I regret the purchase and it was not a cheap purchase. No vehicle with this amount of mileage should have so many issues like I have had. Im making payments on a car that sits in a garage being repaired every month. I often wonder how much this unreliable car will cost me in the future when warranty runs out. Id like to note on the positive side that Kias service department has been awesome through this ordeal and has expressed concern and understanding with my frustrations and their customer service at Team Kia in Johnstown, Pa. is first class.

From the minute we signed the lease on our Kia, weve had nothing but trouble with customer service. The car itself has functioned just fine, however, there were numerous issues starting from dishonest salesmen misrepresenting car features (which I luckily caught during lease signing, which made it a 6-hour ordeal). I suspect they intentionally delayed the lease revisions so we felt we had already invested too much time to leave. I wish we had just left and gone elsewhere. Once we took the car home, the sales manager called to let me know they had accidentally leased me the wrong car, and that they were getting an identical replacement for me. At which point I had to re-sign all of the lease documents two days later. While this may be dealership-specific (Casey Kia of Newport News), issues with customer service seemed to be prevalent throughout the organization. Employees have no accountability and make no effort to troubleshoot or find a solution. At the end of our lease, we bought out the vehicle. We paid online in-full and faxed the odometer statement. Though after 6 weeks, they said they didnt receive the fax, so we re-sent it. Still nothing. After my third call and demanding to speak to a supervisor, they *finally* offered me an esign option via email (despite having been told there was no email option on previous phone calls). I am hopeful that the esigned doc goes through, as our vehicle registration needs to be renewed, and Kia wont release the title without it (though they were happy to take our money). If there were issues with our documentation, a customer service team member should have reached out promptly instead of waiting for us to discover the delay. I am very glad that I will no longer have to deal with Kia going forward, and I will definitely be purchasing a different brand of vehicle when it comes time for the next one.

One of the best cars Ive ever bought. It drives so good and very comfortable seating. It has the best warranty on the market (10 years) and for half the price of other vehicles that are similar in style and performance I am very pleased with my Kia Sorrento. It is a great SUV for our family. Go test drive one and see why there are so many Kia Sorrentos on the road today. I paid $23,000 out the door for a brand new 2018 SUV. I did a lot of homework and bought at a good time saving over $10,000 on my vehicle. I would definitely recommend buying a Kia. Im happy with mine and will be buying another one soon in the future.

I have had the most horrendous experience with Kia of St Cloud in MN. Have taken in my car for regular maintenance. After about a year, started having a problem with my back seat latch not letting loose. Was told that they couldnt fix it because they didnt have their main mechanic there. Told me to let me know if any more problems. Kept having the issue, so was told they would fix it when I brought it in for my oil change. Got at my appt 20 min early and there service advisors didnt help us for over 20 min. Had a few more minor issues to look at too. Was told wait time would be 2 hrs. Sat for over 3 1/2 hrs and my vehicle wasnt fixed because they now had to order parts. Tried to tell me on part was covered under warranty. Had less than 13,00 miles and had purchased extended warranty. Caused a scene in the waiting room where other customers were, so he said they would cover it. Called corporate to file a complaint and they were worthless. Gave contacted them 3 x and no results. They contacted dealership because I wanted my survey. Was told by corporate that they didnt have my email address, but yet it was on my service invoice. Service manager said that he doesnt have anything to do with, but yet corporate says they do. Nothing like covering each others **. WILL NOT EVER BUY ANOTHER KIA. THINKING OF TELL THEM THEY CAN KEEP THEIR PIECE OF ** CAR AND THEIR SERVICE AND TAKE THE LOSS.

I bought my car, top of the line Sorento, brand new. I had problems since I drove off of the lot. The major problems are excessive vibration, pulling to the left and most recently corrosion on the inside edge of my hood. Kia does not want to take responsibility for any of these issues and after doing my research, others are complaining of the same problems. This will be the last Kia that I ever own.

I purchased a KIA Sorento in 2013. It was brand new. In 2017 at about 30,000 miles, it started producing a lot of blue exhaust. It continued to produce the blue exhaust, so I took it into KIA Roseville to get it serviced. They changed the oil, did regular maintenance, and checked out the problem. When I went in to pick up my car, they said everything was fine, and there was some sludge, but it should work its way out. They also told me to call them if the problem persisted. The problem did persist, so I called KIA Roseville, and asked if I should bring the car back in. They said that the problem was probably caused by the sludge, and that I should just continue driving on it to work the sludge out. Well, I kept driving on it, and even drove from Sacramento to San Diego. When I got back from my trip to San Diego, my car started making a strange noise. I called KIA, and made an appointment to get it checked out again. I took my car in, and this time they told me my engine was about to fail, and that we needed to replace it. They also said that KIA would probably not cover the warranty, because we were missing some of our maintenance-receipts. They told us that there was excessive sludge. What kind of car gets excessive sludge in the engine at 30,000 miles? Oh, and mind you, I never had one warning light go on in the car. Well, it turns out this problem with KIA Sorentos, and other models, is happening everywhere. I have found hundreds of views with the exact same problem.

KIA Picanto 2016 Dont trust KIA Motors! The first technical problem that occurred with the KIA was in August, the car was taken to the KIA service in order to fix the problem. I was told that the problem had been entirely fixed and would not happen again. However, after a month the exact same problem occurred. The car completely stopped in the middle of the road and the steering wheel locked making it impossible for me to move the car somewhere safe. I had two young children in the back and this situation could have easily caused an extremely serious accident with not just myself and my family but others on the road. The car was taken to the KIA service in order to fix the same problem once again. This exact same problem has now occurred three times and each time it has caused me an overwhelming deal of stress, money and time. I am extremely frustrated and angry with this entire situation, the problem had supposedly been dealt with, I am not comfortable driving this car anymore as it is clearly not up to road safety standards and would never want to risk putting the life of my children or others on the road in any kind of danger.

I have a top of the line Kia Cerato 2010. I am frustrated with its sun roof. I went to the agent in Egypt on 10/13/2011 to fix the problem but they told me that the spare part cannot be found and to date, 3/20/2012, it still hasnt been found. I think the problem is with the roller. Please fix this problem because this could tarnish the reputation of Cerato. Thanks for your help.

Perth Kia service department made adjustment to the airbag sensor under the passenger seat each time the car was in for oil change for three years during warranty period. After warranty expired, I went in for oil change and asked them to look at the airbag sensor. They told me it was broken and would cost around 1500 dollars to replace. I thought they would do the honorable thing and fix it but I was wrong. I then contacted Kia and after a year they told me there was nothing they could do.

My family bought a brand new Kia Sorento from this dealership 7 months ago and it almost took their lives on the highway when the car suddenly stalled and stopped. We had our car towed to the dealership and they told us that the alternator was the problem and that our mechanic had spilt oil into it and it wasnt a warrantable item. We choose to not to believe them and had the car towed out and the alternator inspected and we found out that it was a failed part that they dont make any more for Kias. We sent the alternator to them after they told us to, to show them that they were putting peoples lives in danger and that they should have warrantied it and paid for it but instead they call us and tell us no. Instead of taking care of us they keep spinning this around trying to take advantage of us just so they do not have to pay. Keep your family safe and dont bother buying a car from here. Were not gonna give up. Were gonna make sure to fight this cause this is a crime.

I bought my KIA Sorento 2012 as a new vehicle, and have had way many problems than normally expected for the past few years, including safety problems. Car stopping suddenly on the road is a horrible experience with the family on-board, but it has happened twice even after their fix (First in 2014, Second in 2016). Major problems (Safety issue): Car became disabled while running on a high speed limit busy road in 2014. Dealership found an alternator failure and they replaced it. Car became disabled again while running on a road at night last Friday (February 26, 2016). The exact same symptoms as before; LED indicators began malfunctioning, accelerator stopped working, and Car lost its power while running.Other problems (Non-Safety issue): Battery replace twice with bad cells found. (Car keeps causing the battery to die.) Passenger power car seat stopped operating twice. Navigation keeps resetting (deleting all the saved addresses and settings). LED light indicators malfunctioning or stuck. Car is inherently bad or has some root causes for the problems, and so needs a more fundamental solution rather than fixing locally. This car is potentially very dangerous as the same safety problems keep breaking out, but KIA (Dealership, Headquarter) simply follow the warranty manual with the repeated problems.I asked KIA to either replace the car or replace the electrical engine board, but they refused. All Im asking is being able to drive the car with enough confidence that it wont stop on the road (and expose my family to a dangerous situation). Again, car being stopped twice suddenly on the road is a horrible experience, and KIA should deal with the issue more than just warranty, as there may be the same problems with their other cars.

In January 2008, I bought a 2007 KIA Spectra from Kia Brampton, with a 5-year or 100,000-km. warranty. All went well until December 26, 2012 when the vehicle was at 99,950 km. The oil light started to come on and off. It was towed to KIA Brampton where they declared the vehicle okay but proceeded to empty the oil and place clean oil therein. I was told to return the vehicle every week for check up which I did every week until March when KIA finally confirmed that the vehicle did have problem. Then they told me they will contact me after they get in touch with KIA Canada. In March, they took in the vehicle and claimed to change the rings, which they assumed was the problem. However, within two weeks, the same problem resurfaced and I took back the vehicle to KIA Brampton. The car was checked and we were told by the Service Manager that the change of the ring was a goodwill gesture and the warranty has expired and in general, when vehicles reach the end of the warranty, KIA seems to think that people want to con them to recondition the engine and hence they would not be able to help us. KIA Brampton recommended that we contact KIA Canada re the problem.I contacted KIA Canada about the problem and was told by the Customer Service representative, Malia, on May 24, 2013 that the KIA could not assist me because the vehicle has passed its warranty period. I refuted this of course on the basis that the problem with the vehicle was detected before the warranty period expired. I asked to speak to a supervisor and after being put on hold for 15 minutes, I was told that the Supervisor was busy and but will contact me within 24 hours. On Wednesday, May 29, 2013, I finally received a call from a Sandy from KIA Canada about the matter. I again requested that KIA honor the warranty and fix the vehicle. Sandy said she had nothing to add to what Malia told me because KIA Brampton fixed the problem in March based on their diagnosis and now that the car is over the warranty period, KIA is not responsible for any repairs.

We have been trying to return a leased vehicle since December! We have had the run around for months. And its still not complete. Every time I call I get transferred and left on hold for a minimum of 30 minutes before talking to someone long enough to be transferred again only to be hung up on in the end. They told us that the final bill was in the mail about a month ago. We kept getting calls that we were past due (several a day). When I called the lease end again (after several transfers) I was told to disregard the calls and that our final bill was in the mail and would arrive in 1-2 weeks. We continued to receive phone calls about missing payments. My husband ended up calling and after 2 hours of transfers he finally was told that they wont process it until the vehicle is resold? What? At no point did anyone ever mention this tidbit of info. I am disappointed because I loved my Kia, but now because of this experience I will never deal with Kia anything again!

I bought a 2011 Kia Sorento. When I first bought the car, it had an acceleration problem. And now it has an internal engine problem and Kia’s warranty does not want to cover the problem. It is a brand new car. I can’t believe that I bought a Kia and this was going to happen after only 12,000 miles of me driving it. This is too much. It has caused me and my family a whole lot of stress. I can’t believe it. It’s like a nightmare. It’s too much for a single, hard working mom of 5. I believed in Kia and their warranty. I thought about it and what else was going to be better than a 10-year warranty, 100 miles bumper-to-bumper? I guess not.

So yesterday, he goes the paper work has been file so what do you want me to do. I informed him I wasnt happy the manager and sales person gives you a price and when you get back to his office whatever the manager say doesnt mean anything I dont feel that is right .This isnt the first vehicle we have gotten. He was wrong charging us one more yr I know we could have said no to the car but my husband said go ahead but if he has done it once how many other times has he done it to other customer. He had no excuse but it cant be done yet the manager gave us a discount because it was a 2011 and the finance guy didnt and wouldnt sale it to us at what the manager and sales person quoted us.

I bought a slightly used 2011 Kia in 2011. It was in amazing condition and I spent the next 7 years taking immaculate care of it -- never missing an oil change and keeping up with the regular maintenance. Last week, while driving, out of nowhere my car seizes and then starts making a very loud rapping noise. Engine is kaput. I had it towed to my mechanic (my cousin so he doesnt give me any bull -- he even does a diagnostic in front of me and shows me exactly what is wrong with the car and why). He says one of the pistons broke, causing tons of metal flecks in the oil (which I had recently changed). The piston had also hit one of my spark plugs, chipping off a tiny piece of it. He said the issue is the exact same as all of the thousands of Kias being recalled, and that this is a bad engine and its the manufacturer at fault for it, not me. Especially since I had taken such good care of it -- no sludge in the oil, no nothing.Call Kia customer care & open a case -- they say I have to have a Kia dealership diagnose it for them to help me. So I tow it to a dealership and they charge me $120+ just for the diagnostic. I try to give them the diagnostic from my mechanic and tell them about the broken engine and the spark plug and the piston, and they wont listen to me. I go home and wait thru the weekend. They call me Monday morning to say my car doesnt have a broken engine, but that the tiny piece of spark plug is causing the issue and they need another $350 to try to remove it and it may cost up to $1100. I tell them to wait and call my cousin to ask if that sounds right. He said, no, thats outrageous, and he calls them and makes them put the mechanic on the phone. Mechanic is a complete ** -- didnt even run a diagnostic, just looked at the spark and figured that was the problem. Cousin asked if he ran a compression test-- of course he didnt! Then the mechanic tried to say it would take 3 hours for a diagnostic then, and cousin said, how long does a compression test take? Guy says, I dont know, Id have to look it up to which my cousin replied, Its certainly less than 2 hours. You can send me an itemized list of what youre doing.I ended up making my cousin the one the dealership had to go thru. And, GEE WIZ! Turns out when they actually DID THE COMPRESSION TEST, the problem with the car is exactly what my cousin said was wrong! And do you think Kia stands by its 100,000 mile/10 Year Warranty??! Of course not! Because Im the 2nd owner. And does it say on the ads or the website that it doesnt apply to 2nd owners? Not unless you find your manual and look it up -- Intentionally deceptive and misleading. And REGARDLESS, this is THEIR FAULTY ENGINE. Customer care wont do a fricking thing and expects me to pay thousands of dollars for a new engine, even though they KNOW its their responsibility and theyve already had to recall all their other engines (but for some reason not the Rio...) My cousin even called Customer Care and said my engine is affected by the recall, theyre just trying to save face. I have years and years worth of oil change and maintenance receipts as proof that the fault is theirs, and they wont do a freaking thing to correct their mistakes.I have never been so disgusted. The incompetence of the dealership, the arrogance of Customer Care, the mistreatment of their customers, the lemons they wont take responsibility for... I WILL NEVER BUY A KIA AGAIN. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the inevitable headache and HUGE repair bills-- STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM KIA CARS AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.I now have to junk my car after I had JUST replaced the breaks and done a bunch of other maintenance to it. I hope the company goes bankrupt and burns to the ground. They are the most corrupt lousy liars I have ever come across. Just do a quick freaking search online and you will find hundreds and hundreds of stories just like mine. It is unbelievable that an 8 yr old car with 98,000 miles on it would die with no warning and Kia just shrugs its shoulders. This is unacceptable. If anyone files a class action lawsuit please let me know -- they need to be taken down.

This is my second Kia Soul! I love the cars performance and the 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty (The best in the business)! That being said, several weeks ago, while driving northbound on the Interstate 5 freeway in densely automobile populated rush hour traffic, I got a flat tire. No big deal. That happens! What doesnt happen is calling Triple A and NOT FINDING A SPARE TIRE in the trunk upon the servicemans arrival! The serviceman was very accommodating. He explained that several years ago, spare tires were omitted as standard equipment (especially in small cars) to improve gas mileage (less weight equals increases fuel efficiency). My last Kia Soul was year 2011 so I didnt know there was no spare in the new models. Oh, by the way, I bought my Kia Soul from Alhambra Kia, Kia of Alhambra! NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THAT DEALERSHIP! Their customer service is absolutely horrible! In my hour of need, I called the dealership to ask why I had not been informed that there was no spare tire in my trunk and I was transferred to an answering machine! I left a message, but NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK!Anyway, I then called the national Kia Roadside Assistance Center where I spoke to an excellent receptionist whose goal was to serve my needs! She referred me to Downtown LA Kia. THIS IS ANOTHER KIA DEALERSHIP YOU SHOULD NEVER EXPECT PROPER SERVICE FROM! The national receptionist said changing the new tire I had bought elsewhere would be free! According to Downtown LA Kia, the service charge was $25. No big deal! EXCEPT FOR THE PRINCIPAL INVOLVED! I had already experienced a potentially traumatic event due to the companys negligence and now, I was just looking for someone, anyone from Kia to offer some form, any form of customer satisfaction! NO ONE SATISFIED MY NEEDS! The next day, I visited KIA OF ALHAMBRA and the manager apologized but HE DIDNT MAKE ME HAPPY! As result, I will never buy another Kia automobile! And I will never ever, never ever never buy a car from Kia of Alhambra!

Save the hassle, save your money and buy a different brand of car. Managers and service department cannot seem to communicate so Im hiring an attorney to get my money back for this overpriced piece of metal. Paint job really sucks. I have cracked paint from front windshield to back windshield and was told not to wash the car! Are you kidding me? Most expensive car Ive ever owned and I cant even wash it?! Im so done! I want my money back!

For 3 months off and on my 2012 Sorento loses power while driving. I have taken it to the dealership on Columbus Ga. They dont seem to know how to fix it. First it was a throttle engine sensor. Next they repaired something to do with the brakes. Then replaced the key fob. 1100.00 paid and still not repaired.

I bought a new car from Kia in November at 9 pm. After spending about 3 hrs there because the salesmen who promised to give me a better deal went home without calling me they then tried to charge me about a 100.00 more than the other dealer. The next day I noticed a small ding in door but was going to let it go until I noticed part of the rear bumper area had waves or indentations throughout it. I finally got it fixed after being laughed at originally. Three months ago I noticed the paint on my car starting to pop. There are no dents on the car and it is garage kept yet they are trying to avoid fixing it and blaming it on something contaminating the paint. This is garage kept in a personal parking spot at work with no trees around it. I partially blame the dealer. But for Kia corporate not to take action is inexcusable. I have missed work because of the stress this has put on me and I now may have to take legal action to get it fixed

We bought a Kia Sorento and financed through Kia.... HUGE MISTAKE! This company is absolutely horrible to work with... We traded our Kia for a different vehicle in February. The Kia was paid off via the new dealership... BUT Kia has called us 3 and 4 times a day trying to collect on a vehicle that we no longer own. We have spoke to several people at Kia giving them the payoff information and at the end of each call they still ask for payment.... YES... They ask for payment for a vehicle that we no longer own. There is a time lapse on Kia from payoff to their collection department. These people are awful to work with. For a month they call us numerous times a day....even after giving them proof of payoff! Our Kia was a good vehicle.... Just do not finance through Kia financial. I wont ever buy another Kia just for that reason! Horrible, Horrible Customer Service!!!!

Multiple Issues on 2004 Sedona - Lets see where to begin. I bought it new for $15k. Well equipped with lots of stuff standard. I suppose this lures most people in along with the 100k warranty. Within the first 1,000 miles, the starter went out. Infamous brake issues started around 12k. We have replaced the rotors on it three times and getting ready to do the 4th set this week. The vehicle currently has 100,600 miles. The AC capacitor went out at 59k, just under the 60k bumper to bumper expiring, so we got that repaired for nothing. The starter went out again around 70k and that cost $300.00. Wheel bearing have been replaced. A compressor went out around 80k and that cost $400.00. The climate control distribution doors dont open, so air barely blows into the compartment. Rear climate control hasnt worked for years. The coolant lines that run back to the rear unit literally rusted through and the mechanic had to plug the lines and route it so rear climate control isnt even possible. The rear brakes didnt seem to be working, so I took it to a mechanic who pulled the drums and said the shoes hardly looked worn and that the entire rear system had probably been hung up/frozen for years. He tried to free them up and thought he did, but I still dont think they are engaging. Thermostat has been replaced 2 or 3 times and I believe the water pump once. Its very heavy and gets terrible gas mileage, 18-20 miles/gal. I will say, knock on wood, that so far, the drive train has been solid. We have taken it on several long distance trips and have been very fortunate to have not had any problems on the road other than wondering if the brakes would fail at any moment, sweating in the backseats and hoping it wouldnt overheat. Other than that, it has been great!

The dealership is arguing about warranty coverage, because we may be missing some oil change paperwork. Oil in the vehicle was not an issue when overheating occurred. The last oil change was approximately 500 miles previously. The oil clearly was not an issue when the vehicle overheated. Who can we talk to at Kia to ensure the warranty is covered?

To start my fiance was driving her car and the motor seized on her on a major highway. Called the dealership. They told her the towing company they used was busy so she would have to sit on the side of the road in the summer in Mississippi for 3 hours. I got her car towed to our house from a friend of mine. We finally get Kia to tow the car to the dealership, come to find out there was a recall on the motors for this reason. Never once did we get anything in the mail for it. We got it there Friday morning, here it is Monday afternoon and all they know is what I told them and that is that it needs a new motor. They told us it would be 3 days for the kia tech line to approve the motor. So we are gonna be without a car for 3 days if not longer. I called kia customer service they said the same. After asking for a supervisor they told me that it would take 24 to 48 hours for the supervisor to contact me back. Overall this will be the last kia I ever own. Just a bunch of crooks who messed up and now dont want to pay for it.

BUYER BEWARE!! This is intended to strongly express a ZERO rating of Corporate Kia, as they refuse to stand by their products and are hurting their dealerships in the process. We have recently become part of a VERY large group of Kia vehicle owners with known defective engines and Corporate Kia refuses to rectify the issue of their poor quality!! We own a Forte with ~79K miles on it that is well kept. When the engine just recently began a loud knocking sound and a timely engine recall notification came to us, we brought it to Kia. After charging us $135 for a diagnostics fee and having our vehicle for literally two weeks (stating that Corporate Kia had been hacked and their systems were in disarray), only to ultimately tell us the engine recall issue DID NOT apply and it would cost us $8,250 for them to put in a USED engine!! Yes, $8,250!! They also stated that our vehicle had been serviced by Kia all along, but that the engine was junk?!? There are many Kia models already in lawsuit settlements for this defective engine issue that surfaces later on, but it is not on the Forte yet. Do a simple Google search and you will discover this. If youre thinking of purchasing, please do your research first, as there are many other car manufacturers out there who do not have this devastating design defect that leaves the owners with big $$$ expenses and no recourse. How Corporate Kia can ignore their consumers and poor quality like this is highly unethical and is why I am posting this!

The sub frame collapsed and the axle snapped while she was driving. The front tire was forced into the bumper of the car damaging the tire along with the fender. Upon research a sub frame recall SC075.a rep. It took over 3 weeks to get approval for the recall repair, then another 10 days to get all of the proper paperwork completed and the car was towed to a local dealership by Kia for the repair. Parts were ordered repair completed about 10 more days. When the recall was finished, we were told the car needed additional repairs we were overcharged by about $350 by the dealership. Per advice of our family mechanic we arranged to have the car towed by AAA to his garage. I arrived at the dealership to find that the tire and the damage to the body of the car had not been fixed. In addition, the car had been sideswiped! The passenger side door, rear view mirror all damaged. Dealer says it arrived that way blaming the tow truck contracted by Kia did the damage. I dont know if it was the tow truck or our local dealership caused the damage. When our mechanic did the repairs he noticed the dealership never screwed on the bolts that hold in the sub fame. I was told to send pictures to KIA National Services. I sent the requested pictures with no response. Two weeks have passed no response.

It started malfunctioning and when I proceeded to stop the car from veering off the road, I had to place my hand on the gear and force it into park in order for it to stop. I was stuck out waiting 3 hrs for my husband to rescue me... on the side of the road. And when I restarted it to drive it back home I had to drive under 50 miles with the hazards on the whole way there. Once I got to my exit the car malfunction again and proceeded not to stop but kept going and I was forced again to put it in park in order for it to stop. Im still very much upset about it when I got home I cried because I couldve ran into a innocent person along with my life and really caused a lot of damage. Im thanking God that everyone is safe. Kia Rio Gearbox problems - This vehicle was bought brand new on 2nd May 2013 from the Kia Northcliff, Cresta, South Africa branch. The vehicle started to develop gearbox problems with the gears getting stuck intermittently. After speaking to Mr. **, National after sales manager, Kia South Africa, he arranged that the vehicle had to go for assessment. The vehicle was sent to Kia to assess and fix the problem. They have replaced certain parts whilst trying to rectify the problem. After receiving the vehicle back, the problem was not solved. The vehicle was returned to Kia, and after one weeks assessment, Mr. ** (Workshop Manager at Kia Northcliff) responded the following: At the time of testing the vehicle we could not fault the vehicle. The vehicle is still giving the same problem and Kia is not prepared to accept that this is a factory fault and is not willing to replace this vehicle. I am sending this complaint now to the South African National Consumer Commission, Hello Peter, Verbruikersraad Beeld, The Automobile Association, Kia South Africa Head Office and trust that somebody will assist me to solve this problem once and for all, seeing that Kia is not prepared to accept responsibility.

I am a dissatisfied owner of a 2014 Kia Soul. July 4, 2015 I purchased a used 2014 Kia Soul with 4200 miles on it. June 2017 the engine blew up with 62261 miles on it. At this time I found out that there is NOT a 100000-mile powertrain warranty because I am the second owner. They dont tell you that when you buy it. I contacted Kia warranty service to submit my claim. Long story short, Kia not covering engine replacement because it is out of second owner power train warranty. I Had to pay to install a new long block engine into the Soul at the Kia dealership. $4322.00 for the engine and installation. Kia could not tell me what the mileage was when the Soul went into Service but only the date. According to Kia warranty, the second owner is 5 year 60,000 mile warranty from day and current mileage. So if my Soul had 2262 miles on it when it went into service, then my warranty would be to 62262 miles. Kia did not want to even talk about this. Just basically said, Sorry for your bad luck. Next I was told to file an complaint and I will be doing just that. It was determined at the dealership the failure was due to a blown head gasket which in turn allowed engine coolant to get into the #2 cylinder which caused the engine to lock up. Also the engine was free of any oil sludge and nothing was found to be neglected as far as maintenance. An engine head gasket should not blow on a well-maintained engine. Funny thing at the dealership when my engine arrived from their distribution center, I was told I was 4th in line to have an engine installed. Gee. Sounds like Kia has an engine failure problem. Guess they are not paying for anyones repairs!!! Poor customer satisfaction. Oh and Scott who I spoke with from Kia about the warranty, if you read this, this is not the way life is, consumers should not have to worry about their engine failing and be without a ride to work for 6 weeks and have to deal with arrogant warranty customer service person. My son has a Nissan with 145000 miles and it has only been to dealership for regular scheduled maintenance. Guess I will need to trade this Kia on a Nissan.

We have a 2014 Kia Soul, now has 104,182 miles on it. Took the vehicle for an oil change on 3/21/18 and advised the shop that the vehicle had been going out in the midst of driving. They kept it for a couple of days and $100.19 later, we were told we needed a new engine, but they had new cars on sale! (That! is sarcasm.) They didnt tell us why, and quoted the new engine to be $5100+ tax. The car sat in my driveway for about a week as my husband and I debated, should we get a new car? Or get a loan to pay for a new engine? But then, if we get the new engine, what if that triggers something else to go wrong? Called Customer Affairs, created a case, took the car back to the dealership, who has ONLY been the ones to handle our vehicle, for oil changes only, as we have never had any issues.Kept the car for TWO WEEKS, never heard a word, had to call, then we got the runaround, and was told that we were denied any help from the DPSM. We escalated the case, and had to call back the next day to be told all they could do is offer $1500 off of a $6800+ engine. Mind you, we were originally quoted $5100+tax. Not only am I livid, I am out a vehicle, and have been for a month now, Ive had to put wear and tear on my other vehicle while my husband and I share it, and now have to find a way out of this KIA SOUL problem.

One of our customers at our shop has a 100k mile warranty on her vehicle and her Valve Body went bad at 94000 miles. It is a part that should be covered under warranty. She has kept up on all of the maintenance on her vehicle per the warranty booklet and has records to prove it. Peak Kia was awful to deal with. They suggested replacing the Transmission and that it wasnt going to be covered under warranty. The grand total was 4000 dollars. The assistant service manager was a complete jerk. He stated that if she didnt have 3 Transmission services at 30k, 60k, and 90k then her warranty was void. I read the warranty book a few times to make sure I wasnt missing anything. She was supposed to at 90k for normal driving conditions. The book stated at 30k and 60k the Transmission should be serviced if the car is driven in severe conditions. Her car is not. We have been trying to get this covered since June. I have spoke to the corporate office in July and still havent received any word from them. Completely unacceptable! She has called multiple dealers as well as corporate and has only heard back today just to tell her they are still working on it. Come on, seven months. I took my Soul to Kia due to a screeching noise in the front while braking thinking there may be a stone stuck in the pad. Come to find out the rotors had rusted in the front only to the point that they were pitted. I bought the car a few months prior from an independent dealer and the Kia dealer said that the car must have sat for a while but they were not sure. Thus is just conjecture on their part. They said the rotors were not covered because the warranty does not cover rust. They recommended that I call Kia corporate and see if they will make an exception. I called and was treated poorly by Robin, a supervisor, but after an exercise in patience she agreed to escalate the issue to the district service manager. It has been 3 working days and I am still waiting to hear back from them. I had to take it back so they could get pictures of the rotors over the weekend. The funny thing is that rotors on the rear are fine which makes no sense unless poor rotor quality or substandard design with the front brake system. The service department says that the district service manager will likely approve it but it can take another day or two and it will take more time to get the parts in. Meanwhile I am driving a car that the front brakes sound terrible and I feel unsafe driving. Very poor customer service and quality.

Firstly, let me start off by saying this is in regards to the Kendall Kia located in Miami, FL. I was initially greeted by Anika, salesperson, who is a great girl with lots of sales potential. Eventually, I left the dealership in my new 2012 Kia Soul. One (1) month later, I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, Mr. Rod Rifai, after being unsuccessful at receiving a call back from any available sales representative. That conversation was trying, to say the least. My question for Mr. Rifai was when could I expect to receive my tag, as my temporary tag was expiring the following day. Somehow, that simple question turned into a screaming match between the two of us. He attempted to insult my intelligence throughout the entire conversation. I had to raise my voice just to be heard over his tirade and this was from the owner of the dealership. At the end of the conversation, I was promised that following Monday that Mr. Rifai would personally investigate the delay with my tag and get back to me. To date, I have yet to receive my tag or a follow-up call from Mr. Rifai and I am now on my second temporary tag. For obvious reasons, I will never recommend this dealership to anyone after my experience with the owner. He should not be in the business of customer service and, in my personal opinion, a hospitality class would do him wonders.

I purchased my 2014 Kia Sorento after it was a leased vehicle for two years. I was thrilled at the beginning until halfway through year 2 of owning it ALL of my paint started peeling off of the roof and the sides of the windshield. After fighting Kia for months and them denying that anything with their paint is faulty and taking it to numerous repair shops I got it painted for the low low price of $1,000. I then had the OTHER side of my windshield start peeling less than 2 weeks after I got the driver side painted resulting in me having to fight with Kia again. I have been fighting this battle since June of 2018 and am still waiting for my reimbursement check from consumer affairs for the first round of repainting. They apparently keep forgetting to hit their magical process button for my check as that is the excuse Ive now received 3 times from them. DO NOT BUY ONE OF THEIR CARS. The paint is not properly applied and is not thick enough and will start peeling just before year 4 of owning the car. Kia will tell you they only insure their paint job for 3 years and that you are out of luck. This product is faulty and they are not willing to do anything except turn you away and not acknowledge the problem. Terrible company.

I recently purchased my new Kia Soul (July 2012) with the expectation of 34 mpg. I noticed that my gas mileage did not meet those numbers. I am averaging 28 mpg. I received an email from Kia wanting to reimburse me for the difference in the mpg’s ($163.00). However, they only want to reimburse me for the mileage I have used. What about the future mileage? I have a 5 year loan on this thing. What about the remaining 4 and 1/4 years’ worth. Somehow I feel I have been cheated.

Bought a used 2010 Kia Rondo Jan. 2015. We are a much older couple & do little mileage. A few months after buying car various lites kept burning. Brought to local garage. Was told take to Kia dealership, an electrical problem. Changed lite, burnt again, along with complete dashboard. Back to Kia, this time supposedly the hitch that was problem. Changed lites again, now dome lite. Then car went dead, boosted by a garage, told us was electrical, boosted 2 other times. Back to Kia, this time ripped out the quette, bypassed some wires, good to go. Lasted a week, headlite burnt, Kia changed again at no charge but the new lite was not working. On & on this goes. Of course warranty finished. Now burnt lites & message on dash saying check. Back to Kia. Now need to put Quette back, and 4-500$ to change wiring. They finally diagnosed. This has being going round & round since March. What a nitemare. Serviceman called ROCH extremely rude. Cannot provide order # as car is still @ garage. Awaiting the proprietors call. Am also awaiting the t.v. program J.E.s reply. My husband also bought & changed various lites. What a way to be treated. Be careful anyone buying at this garage. We firmly believe this was a undisclosed problem when we bought.

This pass Sunday I was driving on I-75 North to Gainsville to drop off my son for summer camp and the engine made a pull. Then all the sudden a big rattling noise. The car was always serviced by the Orlando KIA West Colonial dealer for Oil changes and for services. My car had clean oil in the pan. This happen on 6/12/2016 and today is 6/19/2016. They need a paper sign from the District manager and I am getting the runaround. I see how it goes... When you step in the show room, they promise you bells and whistles. Then when the time comes up for them to pony up, they drag their feet. This is my last time I will purchase a KIA car or a new car. What is the point... I see that some other people are having similar issues. Think before buying a KIA... Not a happy customer.

My car was booked in for a noise in the engine on 3rd Nov 2015. Heard nothing for 2 days even after leaving numerous messages as the lady dealing with it was either away from her desk, on a call or busy with other clients. Eventually got a call late Wednesday afternoon advising that they needed to strip the crankshaft which would cost R2300.00. I advised that I would check with my husband and call them back. When attempting to call them back late Wed afternoon no one answered the phone. I then received a call Thursday pm to confirm that could go ahead with the job. I confirmed it was okay. I heard nothing on Friday and when phoning Friday pm, none of my calls were returned. By now I was extremely peed off. I eventually got my husband to go to Kia Tokai to check on the progress of my vehicle. When he arrived the ladys attitude was, Why have you come to see your vehicle? He was then shown the problem with the vehicle and the mechanic explained what needed to be done, we were offered 2 options costing R3700 or R20 000. We agreed to the R3700. Were then told the parts could only be ordered from JHB on the Monday 9th. We then received no update on our car at all. I then tried to speak to the manager of Kia Tokai who was in a meeting when I called at 9 am on Thursday. 12th Nov. I called throughout the morning and left 3 messages in total. He never returned any of my calls. Eventually the service manager called me to enquire what my complaint was. I explained the whole story to him and he was going to check on my car and call me back. Surprise, surprise he did not call back. I eventually called him again at 3:30 pm. This is what I was then told: yes the part had arrived but did I not know that it can take 3-4 days for a part to arrive? How would I know this? They now need to check if the part is compatible with my vehicle, come on, get real. Do you not know what part to order? I must be patient and wait because while my car has been at their workshop they have booked other cars in as well which will be worked on first, dont I realise that the job on my car is a big one. How would I know this, I am not a mechanic. Am I not a client? Are some clients given special treatment? Yes my car is not under warranty anymore (was bought from this branch in April 2012) but I am a paying customer. By this time I was fed up and asked to speak to the manager again. I was put through to reception, who advised me to pls hold as he was on a call. I was placed on hold 3 times. The service manager then came onto the phone saying the manager was in a meeting and if my car could not be fixed by close of business Friday 13th then they would organise a car for me to use. What rubbish! I feel that I was put on hold so that the service manager could speak to the manager first. Was he really on a call or in a meeting because reception says his on a call and the service manager says he is in a meeting. What kind of manager does not take responsibility for his workshop and staff?Yes I understand that parts come from JHB, yes I understand that some jobs take time, but is it not possible for a person to keep a client updated as to what is happening to their car especially if it takes 11 days without a result. It is now 2:30 pm on Friday 13th November and to date no car, no call! Would never take my car back there again (if & when I get it back). Would never recommend Kia Tokai to anyone as I would not want them to have to endure such incompetence.

I purchased a 2012 Kia Sorento back in November of 2017. After seeing the vehicle had been well maintained on the Carfax and it had low mileage of around 75,000 I felt confident the vehicle would be a reliable long term purchase for me and my family. Now just months later in May 2018 the vehicle spontaneously shut down while driving last week. Fortunately for me I on road with parking lot I could safely roll into and stop. This may not be the case if this happens to another vehicle who may be on a high traffic interstate, high speed roadways, etc. After having it towed to the local Kia dealership I am being told it needs an entire new engine. After a little research, I noticed a Kia Sorento engine failure recall for 2012-2014 due to poor engine manufacturing assembly from leaving debris in engine. After contacting Kia consumer affairs I was told my VIN was not included in this recall. However, they settled on covering half of the $4,000+ repair. If they know they are at fault, why not pay repair in entirety? They claim it is not covered under a warranty and I am ‘fortunate’ they covered as much as they did. I just wanted to educate anyone looking to purchase a new or used vehicle. Steer clear of Kia or Hyundai products unless you can justify buying a new engine before 90,000 miles. I am now going on my THIRD week of having to pay for a rental vehicle because Sorento is still is not repaired. Between the weekly vehicle rental fees, time and hassle, towing fees and the unpronounced $2,000+ for an engine repair I am beyond frustrated at the lack of customer safety concern and service. Please share this to friends and family. Even if this helps just one person not have to go through this situation in the future it was worth my time writing and sharing it.

I just wanted to share my story. We bought a 2014 Kia. Shortly after my purchase I discovered I was charged $2100 extra for a service contract (100000 mile warranty). We put a large sum down on the car and would have only owed around $6000. When I checked my paperwork turned out I owed $8000. The dealer had charged me for an extended warranty that I didnt want. So I had to return in person to Cancel after almost two months - the dealer finally sent Kia finance a check for $2100 dollars. So I called Kia finance and ask them to adjust my payments - didnt owe as much money on the car and they told me they would not redo the payments because I agreed to the original payment. I had never heard of anything so asinine in my whole life. Turns out we had to get the car refinanced to lower the payment. What a bunch of rude jerks. They wanted me to pay the same payment on a lower balance!

I feel that the finance representative was not accommodating and discounted me, after I signed the contract. I had it adjusted because of extra charges, the paperwork is different on other copies (the trade-in value was decreased to hide the extended warranty of $2000.00). He did not go over the contract. His name was Collin ** at Legend Kia in San Antonio (IH 35 N, San Antonio, TX, 210-650-9969). I obtained financing from my bank, which exceeded the cost of the vehicle I initially chose. I wanted to upgrade to another vehicle and he told me I had to pay the difference out of my pocket (which was not true). I feel discriminated against because I am a black female that went into the dealership alone to purchase a vehicle. I dont feel a man would have been treated the same.

Worst company ever! I will never buy a Kia again!! Car was losing oil so I took it to the dealership twice. The second time the determination was that it needed a new engine because there was sludge in the engine. Kias corporate office refused to cover this repair because I couldnt produce enough receipts (they have 5 and wanted 7). The last offer was for them to cover half of the expenses for engine replacement, about $3500 for my half. We declined the offer and are seeking legal counsel. This has to be the worst example of customer service I have ever experienced. There has been a lot of finger-pointing and no one wants to take any responsibility. After reviewing other peoples complaints I noticed that that seems to be a common denominator in all of the complaints, that Kia refuses to stand behind their product and guarantee their warranty. What a horrible experience and a terrible company. I think its about time for a class-action lawsuit. It certainly seems like there are a lot of other people affected like this.

Yes, these cars have problems and they can be extremely expensive to repair at times, but I am a fan of the Sorento. I would not want to break the bank getting one because of the experience my mother had. She had to replace the transfer case at $140,000 for $4500, which was about equal to the value of the car. So she bought a Honda, sold me the Sorento and I had it fixed. Ive had a 3000 watt aftermarket stereo with just an interstate battery and the stock alternator, no problems. The white 03 Sorento is customized with double tinted windows, removed emblems, stock wheels and door handles painted black, headlights and tail lights tinted black, and aftermarket grille without the Kia symbol. People mistake it for a Mercedes all the time. Satisfied, but Id never buy one off the lot. Id get another high mileage one.

I thought I found my dream car, but ended up having it for just 3 weeks. Two and a half weeks after purchasing, my battery went dead so I had it jumped and my boss checked the oil since the hood was open. He was totally shocked as there was absolutely no oil reading on the stick at all. We went and got a quart of oil and told me to immediately take it to the dealer. The dealer gave me a loaner car for the day so they could make sure there was no damage and said it was fine, topped it off with oil and said there was a loose wire on the battery. Three days later my husband drove the car to the store and called me and said he now knows where the oil is going... Its burning it. He said he saw a stream of smoke as he drove down the road. My first response was, this cant be... I am so in love with this car!! (Crazy I know!)I called the dealership and my husband took it straight there and they said a Kia dealer needs to look at it. Well, long story short and tons of phone calls to the Dealer and Kia Consumer Affairs, there was major sludge in the engine and the engine needed a replacement. According to Carfax, per Kia, there is no indication there was any maintenance to the car which resulted in the sludge. Ive never even heard the word sludge in regards to a car until this and now that Ive researched it... its an ongoing problem. Even though the car is still under the 60,000 mile warranty, Kia is not taking any responsibility and claims the dealer should have checked the car thoroughly before selling it to me. Kia also denied the warranty with this same problem on this car in July 2016 so the original owner traded it in for another victim to purchase and deal with this problem, which ultimately was me. Kia denies the warranty because of no proof of proper maintenance, but yet doesnt protect the next buyer with the sludge problem for this to happen again to an innocent buyer that was in search of a car. They claimed they didnt report things like that to Carfax. I stated, well maybe the owner did his own oil changes like my husband does and maybe it could be a defective problem. Of course there was no reason for them to listen to my plea or opinion. There was no reason for me to know there was any kind of problem. We checked the car out and everything looked great under the hood that we could see as well as the running of the car for the 3 weeks I had it. I just want to make it clear to the next buyer... Just because youre buying a car with a warranty it could have the word if behind it, so please be careful. Check the car fax, obviously its their certifiable proof of the maintenance of the vehicle, (its not just for wrecks anymore), read any lawsuits that are out there and for the lenders, be careful of what youre financing. If a car fax determines the maintenance of a car and a warranty that is not being honored because of it, you could be holding a title of a car that is not even on the road and end up in your parking lot broken down. Meanwhile, the consumers credit that they have worked on for years go to shambles. Personally, I believe over greed and deceit. Ive been without a car for 10 days now and unsure where all of this is going. Loved my car and so did my clients that I drove around. Its a shame how this was handled. I just hope I protect the next person on what to look at before purchasing what they believe has a warranty and is protected.

Leased a Kia Sorento early 2016 brand new. No problems that I noticed other than the engine oil got dirty and more dirty every time it was changed. Shortly after my oil was changed the last time, the engine started making a clicking noise then it all of a sudden blew. Dark smoke came out the exhaust. The car cut back on long enough to get home then it didnt cut back on. Had Kia tow it to get maintenance only to have the warranty company refused to pay for repairs. Was told that there was sludge in the engine and was asked to provide service receipts, which I did. I am not a rich person to just pull 5000 dollars out of my pocket and pay for a repair especially if I am not at fault. I told Kia to take the car as a voluntary repossession. No word since. Im completely disgusted and now Im sure my credit is screwed. Something needs to be done.

2010 Kia Optima service - I have taken my car on three different occasions for the front driver side wheel. I hit a curve and was trying to make sure that the rim and/or the tire was not bad. Each time I have taken it, they said they could not find anything wrong with the tire or the rim. But the tires have been rotated and now the rim is back on the front and my steering wheel is shaking badly. I took it back today and stayed there from 8AM to 1PM, to be told that I need to get a wheel alignment, tire balance and rotation, but it would be another 2 hours. I told them that I have been there all day and I have to go. This is not right. How many times do I have to take my car to get it serviced? The end result? No service.

They had it in the shop a total of 2 and 1/2 days and they still werent able to find the problem. This is a problem that Kia needs to step in and remedy. Kia Rio has a rip under the passenger seat where the handle is located to move the seat. Kia calls this a beneficial feature. I call this a defect as it was not listed in the features of my car, was hidden from me, has already separated so food, liquids, bugs, whatever, can get underneath the carpet. After only three weeks, it has separated. The truth is they cheap-ed out and didnt cover it with the same protective plate they put on the Sorento and higher end models and refuse to fix it. Instead of putting a plastic plate on the Rio to protect the carpet, which has already separated and frayed, they chose to spend the money for that feature on a Sirius button that I can pay extra for. It is defective and I dont recommend purchasing a Rio. Only three weeks and already a defect! Unacceptable!

Kia brand vehicle has to many mechanical issues, especially if the car is used. Those made before 2017 all have the same issues, and are NOT recommended as a good car in Consumer Report magazine. The 2 wheel drive models are too loose on the road and difficult to control. I actually had to change the way I drove since I always had a 4 wheel drive previously to my Kia purchase. The car is light despite its size and in a strong wind will move across the road so you have to fight to keep control or weigh down the back of the vehicle with sand or Kitty Liter in the back trunk.

Nov. to next Jan. is a good time for car buying, since automakers will put more incentive/rebates on new cars. But not every brand is honest with customers. In particular, as a recent buyer with PAINFUL experience, I recommend: stay away from KIA, if you look for non-cheating rebates. This is based on my painful car buying experience from KIA (it is not dealers issue, but just KIAs issue). To summarize the experience, I felt I was unfairly treated, discriminated or even insulted by KIA, who in the end took away rebate written in the car contract that I signed 3 weeks ago. Basically, the car I have already put >500 miles, But then KIA told me that I am suddenly not qualified for their rebate and I should come back to pay more). My detailed story was below. (I will post this to major auto websites to help buyers avoid painful experience of mine. Any question, please email me at **).I signed the contract and obtained a new KIA Niro 2017 on 11/24/2017 (Black Friday), attracted by low price with KIA rebate. I am a recent grad, with diploma dated on 09/2016, during that time I was with my F1 student visa (this matters). After graduation, I obtained EAD (employment authorization card granted by US government) and worked in the same university I studied. Basically, I have a work permit to be employed and my contract is annually signed due to nature of research task. ( this matters for KIA). My credit score ~790, with annual salary > 70K. With those info. I was qualified for KIA rebate (1000 dollar) and final price of the car is around 24K, checked by KIA and KIA dealer before we signed contract. I put 10K as down payment, leaving 14K as 4-years auto loan with KIA per rebates policy.I thought everything should work as the signed contract. However, from Dec. 4 the dealer contacted me for my visa and EAD, per KIAs requirement. I feel strange but I try to work with them so I send out my F1 visa and current EAD (C09 category) that my employer has on file. I even emailed my position/annual pay from HR, and leave contact of my employer HR so that they can verify files. Now KIA finance begins to send ridiculous statements like: Contract Returned (Unable to accept Employment Auth Card, Must have Visa) 1. Visa submitted expired 10.03.2014 - Not valid... acceptable visas H-1B, H-1B1, L-1, TN, O1, E1, E2, E3 2. We will need employer letter stating they will request reinstatement due to applicants Visa expired 10/3/2014.There are two hidden rules or tricks from KIA that they can not give me rebate: KIA does not accept my Employment Auth Card (EAD). They keep looking at my expired F1-visa but ignore my current EAD. They want me to have a visa in THEIR list, which is only a small portion of valid EAD from the US governments. (https://save.uscis.gov/web/media/resourcesContents/EAD_Code_Table.pdf). I wonder, if US government grants me EAD for work and I indeed got employed with a good salary (70K annually for 14K loan in 4 years), then Kias policy is a discrimination. Moreover, Kia is also ignorant, as visa does not mean you could work legally (like F-1 ), instead EAD is standard work permit. I and my employer felt very sad when KIA keep asking us valid visa and ignore my EAD.KIA could not finance with me under 4 years, as my current employer only sign a one-year contact. I need to have a employment with a 4-year contract from CURRENT employer AND 4-year valid visa (they do not say EAD). This is truly ridiculous. If 4-year finance requires: 4-year employment contract with the same current company, who can be qualified, given the uncertainty of many jobs? Dealer and I tried to satisfy this unfair KIAs requirement. After talking with KIA (from dealer), one way for me is to bug my HR +boss to write a letter stating that: they have a good intention to hire me for 4 years.I did that and my HR finally agreed to work on this. However, I was later told that even with the letter I still can not have the rebate, because my EAD (KIA always asked visa) was unaccepted, and I need to reinstate a 4-year valid visa in KIAs list by me or my employer. I felt truly insulted as KIA implied that they did not consider my employment as normal or even legal. My HR felt very unhappy, and asked me to leave KIA, why not choose other brand, like HONDA?. Unfortunately, I did not have choice since I drove the car for 3 weeks, returning the car will be very unfair/impossible to dealer. In the meantime, I tried to get KIA finance contact and talked to them directly. From the dealer, I got number and called KIA finance: 1866-337-5632. After reporting my case number: **, I was told that KIA finance would not talk with me directly, and they asked me to contact dealer. They just ignore my request. In the end, I and dealer have to take care about the extra money due to the loss of KIA rebate. I, dealer, even my employer, all harmed and felt this is unfair from KIA. I feel I am discriminated or insulted from the whole process. KIAs hidden rules on the rebate was a cheating and dishonest trick on customer or even KIA dealership. If one seeks honest rebate/incentive, stay away from KIA, and look at other brands (there are so many). If you insist on KIA, think about their two after-contract hidden rules/traps (that is after your employment/salary + credit score satisfies and contracted was signed) that I encountered: 4-year finance? OK, then do you have proof of 4-years of employment from your current job? Working on visa/EAD? OK, do you have current 4-year valid visa (not EAD) that must be in KIAs list? Other conditions (waiting to see other customers posting...)? Feel free to forward my experience to other potential autobuyers so that they do not have to experience I experienced.

It has been in for service over 7 times! They cant seem to find the transmission sticking. But it definitely does it. They told me it seems to be normal for the car??? Really... Ive had a 2015 Sorento loaner for over a week & it doesnt stick at all. Ive brought that up & they look at me like I have a 2nd head! Ive asked them if they changed the engine again from the 2015 to 2016? They said, No. But Ive notice it gets better gas mileage & has more pick up & go. I dont feel safe in my 2015 Sorento. I live in the Atlanta so I need a vehicle that can go when I hit the gas. Yes Im well aware that its only a 4-cylinder but the loaner I have is two & its a great car. Ive had no problems w/ the sticking or slipping transmission!

I was having my van serviced and fixed. I needed an oil change when my air bag light and check engine light came on. The dealership said that in order to check out the problems it would cost me $90.00 per problem. So I went to lock my doors, and the remote didnt work so I had them look at that. Now the other remote doesnt work either so they checked that out too. They said both remotes do not work . I find it a little weird that both dont work. The car is 4 years old and the one key and remote are in my safe, just in case I lock myself out and so I dont lose them. I would like to know if there is anything Kia can do for me and my family. Between me and my family, we own four Kia cars and we love them so I really hope you can help me.

Our 2012 Sorento was serviced by the KIA service department where we bought the car. We were driving in town at 35 mph when the engine just stopped. The engine had no warning lights and no noises. We luckily were near a parking lot and were able to coast in. Called the KIA service to receive the car and diagnose the problem. They tell us the main engine bearing failed and we will need a new engine. If this is a problem KNOWN to KIA, they should replace the engine for us. At no cost. We had a Subaru Forester for 260,000 miles with absolutely no engine problems! I think this needs more investigation.

Do enjoy navigating bad telephone menus and listening to worse music for hours on end, while praying that a minimum-wage customer service rep will pick up? Then you will love Kia Motors Finance. Impossible to deal or even communicate with. I will pay off my vehicle, even though financially disadvantageous, to avoid dealing with these incompetents ever again. Avoid like the plague.

After my 2016 Sorento stopped shifting out of park. It was towed 3 hrs to the closest dealership. I was told there was a rental vehicle reserved and covered in a neighboring town. After leaving work and getting a ride to pick it up I was called the next morning being told there was a mistake and the car had to be returned that afternoon or else I would be charged. I once again left work early to race up and get it returned before closing. The next day I was told that there were gas charges to paid on my end. To which I explained that I would have never picked up the car that was in my position for less then 24hr and was only driven from budget to my house and back if I wasn’t told to! After calling Kia Canada to see what could be done I finally received a call back 3 days later with a “sorry but there nothing we can do”. A week goes by and my car is now worse then it was with a secondary part now backorder. They say I can get another rental. But they will only pay for a tiny hatchback this time. This was after hours on hold, speaking to different agents who kept passing me back to Elliot the first agent I dealt with, who kept not returning my phone calls again!!! He then told me my remote living and size of family does not matter to him, Kia offers to help but do not have to do anything for me. I was laughed at when I said I was upset and asked to have my call return ASAP. Worse customer service ever!!! Although I have enjoyed my car up until this point it is not worth the dealing with such a horrible company. I am getting rid of my car immediately and I would never recommend to anyone to buy a Kia.

2017 Sorento engine seized in October of 2018. Vehicle is sitting at the Cooper Kia dealership in NY. Rewind. Vehicle had a slight knocking sound. Husband calls dealership and states that oil change was already scheduled following day and they say bring it up on Monday as it was Friday. Oil change completed and drove car home. A while later went to run errands and horrible loud knocking at this point. Call Kia and they say, Drive it up to us. Um ok. Not even 5 mile out of my home city and the freaking car dies on the highway, my husband driving and me following. Had a hard time getting it off to the shoulder and waited for roadside. Kia calls following week and says they need maintenance records before they will inspect. Faxed them over right away and charge me to take the valve cover off. Then then say engine needs to be replaced at my cost! No way!Under warranty with 32,000 miles. Kia said that oil changes were not legit. They said that because the VIN number not on the receipt, no good. So I argued the fact that the license number on all receipts could be traced to DMV to verify. Duh. Back and forth arguing and they finally decide they will honor warranty engine replacement but my husband has to pay for labor about 1,000. Uh ok. 9 months have passed and engine on backorder.Call in every month to see status and no one really knows. Kia consumer affairs had the third now rep that just called to see what’s going on. Really? You’re calling us. Billy from Kia consumer says that it doesn’t look like the engine will be in by the time the lease is up. So I’m paying for a vehicle and carrying full insurance that I haven’t driven in 9 months. He proceeds to have us contact KMF and the dealership to try and get out of the lease. We’ve asked to get out of the lease several times and denied. KMF said, Don’t call and ask us as it is solely up to Kia and the dealership. Ridiculous runaround and fed up with the terrible lies.Received a campaign letter about software issue and knocking engines to update in February. Maybe if the stinking sensor worked and warned people beforehand they could fix issues before disaster strikes. Or perhaps stop making the darn crappy engines and blaming consumers. What a disappointment. Husband went up to get plates off vehicle last week. Contacted BBB and attorney general. We shall see. I don’t want this SUV back. Never buy a Kia and don’t let them convince you that it’s your fault. FYI number 4 cylinder misfire code and crankshaft misaligned. Kia, your engines suck and you know it. With all the lawsuits and recalls, don’t be surprised if they go belly up in the industry. Awful experience.

I took my 2011 Kia Sorento to dealership in Charleston many times many months ago for them to fix my extra key, it would not lock or unlock my car. They never fixed it and finally said I was no longer under warranty!! Now I have problems with warning lights on dashboard and local service rep, not Kia dealer, said it was rear wheel hubs with ABS sensors that needed replacement. He also told me he called Kia dealer and they were backordered with so many orders. He questioned why there was not a recall since there so many people with this problem. Called Kia dealer this morning to check on this and said my warranty expired 6 mos. ago and that it would cost me $1080 for repairs! Why not a recall?

I really like this car but would not buy another one because all their dealers in Stafford, Stoke and Crewe and Kia UK themselves are absolutely hopeless and their 7 year warranty is a big joke and worthless. I have got white corrosion on 3 of my alloy wheels. They refused my claim but said that they would replace 1 of them as a gesture of goodwill as long as I do not write to websites like this one. I have refused. What is the use of replacing just 1 wheel. Who is going to pay for the other 2 wheels? Not me.

I find it hard to believe that every dealer I visited to buy this particular model car are increasing the MSRP price of this car by thousands of dollars using a dubious practice call addendum sticker, I initiated a complain directly on the KIA website but all I received was an email indicating that someone will be in contact with me, that was back in late October 2019. As of today nobody has call me or email to address this serious problem.I understand that this is nice vehicle and people might want to pay a few hundred dollars more for it but thousands more is ludicrous and not acceptable. If KIA is allowing dealers to ripoff unsuspecting buyers all they doing is destroying their own brand as once the word gets out many buyers will simply stay away from buying this brand. I saw this happening in the early 1980s with Honda. I was a young father with 2 kids and needed an economical car, I ordered a 1980 Civic and when I went to pickup the car 6 weeks later the dealer increase the agreed price by 25% and I was told take it or leave it. Having waiting for so long for the car I end up paying gouge price. To this day I never bought another Honda.

2010 kia forte - door locks open automatically when stopped. I have had this issue for about a month now. The first time I took it to my kia dealership they said they couldnt re-enact the locks opening on their own and to bring it back when it was doing this. The issue is when I stop, the car is in drive, or reverse, the automatic door locks open...You cant manually or by pushing the button, get them to relock. I feel this is a real safety issue. We took the car back on a morning when the locks had just opened on their own and went straight to the dealerships and spoke again to the service manager, who sat in the car with my husband on dealership property and drove no more than 10 feet, locks opened... They drove a few more feet and they opened again. So the service manager had witnessed the problem himself which he said they needed to have happen to verify what I was telling them. He was supposed to at that time reach out to kia corporate to see if there were any other issues of this type on file or if there were any modules about the locks. We were told on the day the service mgr. witnessed the problem they didnt have time to fix it that day and to bring it back in a couple of weeks and leave it overnight so they could check it first thing in the am. This brings us to today. They have had my car all day and the tech is saying he cant recreate the problem. I dont know why he has to when the service manager has told him the problem. They hadnt done any checks for shorts or faults. I called kia corporate and spoke to customer care there who did call the dealership to see what they had done as there was no record of the dealership logging a record with corporate as they were supposed to do two weeks ago. The service manager wasnt in today. They called him at home and he told them what he witnessed. At that point they said they were going to check for shorts. They had my car all day and are still saying they cant recreate the problem. Apparently tomorrow the service manager will be in and he will try to recreate the problem and were told I want this resolved by end of day tomorrow. I told them I want them to reimburse me for the gas they are using up driving around in my car to diagnose a problem their service manager had already seen. I dont see why, upon the service managers word that there is a problem with the locks, that they dont just replace the door locks. So they have my car for another day, for which I am inconvenience. If they dont fix the problem tomorrow, I will be contacting the COO of Kia Canada and registering my extreme displeasure with this experience. This was my first kia and now it will be my last. The customer service is awful and it appears they just dont want to fix the problem because its still under warranty.

My passenger side air bag light went on and I was told that I would need a new bottom part of a seat which would cost me $1.542.00. I feel that this is a safety issue that KIA motors should cover. I bought this brand new 2008 KIA Spectra. I call KIA Motors about this and the man that I talked to was not a helpful person at all and said it would take two days to see if they could help. Well, they called me within a few hours and stated they would not help me out. 3 yrs old and the car has this kind of issue.

Kia Stingers have faulty brake rotors, this is a known issue and a quick Google search for stinger rotor problems will confirm this statement. My rotors have been pulsating since about week one of ownership. Kia will not resurface or replace the rotors that I have have been fighting to have fixed for about 9 months now because I have since installed aftermarket wheels and tires. What a joke, any excuse they can use to get out of covering their faulty products. Will not be buying another Kia, ever.

I purchased a Kia Optima in 2016. It constantly had issues. The main one being that the air conditioner did not work although I took it to the dealer four times! I purchased the car on a cool October day. Unfortunately, I did not realize that the air was not cooling. It would only blow the temperature outside. Late March rolls around and I discover the issue. The first time I took it to the dealer, they added freon and sent it right back out. Thirty minutes later, the A/C was not working again. I called and was told that it must have been the transmission temperature sensor. I took it to another dealer and they said theres no way it would be that. The second dealer got it to work for maybe two days and then it was out again. Took it back to them, then it worked for like a week. When I took it back the third time they said It must be the whole AC control on the dashboard. The representative told me the KIA dealership in GA had to call KIA in California, and they told them to try that, but they were stumped on what the issue was. That was going to be another $500 on top of the other repairs I had already paid for. I took it to a private mechanic who specializes in wiring/computers of cars. He got the A/C working for about two months - lasted through the end of summer. Spring rolls around the following year... same AC issue. With all of the money Ive pumped into getting the air fixed... I essentially went without air conditioning in THE SOUTH... ATLANTA, GA from the time I purchased the car in 2016 to 2021. Also, the engine light was always on because of a faulty wire or sensor. In GA you have to get an emissions test to renew your tag. For some reason every time my tag was up for renewal... the engine light would come on shortly before. I will never buy a KIA again.

The ECMs re-flash/recall, this ECM re-flash, consisted of updating the software originally supplied from the car maker, and changing the ECMs Air/Fuel Ratio Algorithms to suit the cars fuel air ratio. This new software seems to keep the turbos waste gate open too much during wide open throttle causing the turbo not to spool up all the way resulting in boost loss, and obviously power loss. My question is, why update the software, instead of replacing a potentially faulty part that part being the FCV or Fuel Control Valve? Oh yeah, its cheaper than re-engineering of the faulty FCV, and replacing it with one that does not have a design flaw, better and even more expensive is, why not replace it with a tried and true fuel pressure regulator? Oh yeah cost, so KIA decided to take the easy route it seems, and detune the car, so the car does not reach full boost saving the faulty FCV. It appears they want to remove the power because the turbo is located near the firewall and placed on the back side of the engine. If the pressurized part & the axial lode of the turbo fails, and is spinning at an average of 150,000, this can act like a grenade under the hood throwing shrapnel everywhere, possibly causing both driver and passenger injury or death, as the force of pieces of hot steel and aluminum from the axial load, plus the inertia of rotating blades at 150,000 rpm would penetrate through the firewall into the front seat. I am now afraid to drive this car, let alone trade it in knowing it could hurt someone.

Then I also had the problems with sludge on motor which end in overhauling engine then had the same problem with the car stopping while driving. Still 2016 trying to getting it fix, new alternator, new starter, overhaul motor, new battery and still having the problem. It’s just a piece of junk. Dont recommend this vehicle at all. I bought a used 2010 Kia Soul on August 16, 2012; with 60,000-mile warranty. I thought I would be covered for equipment-related vehicle breakdowns. Two days later, on August 18, 2012, which was a Saturday, the car would not start. It was in the afternoon outside a store in the rain. After calling the local Kia dealership, it was expeditiously towed to that dealership. I rented a car and went about my business, hoping that everything would be covered under the excellent warranty. It turned out to be the battery. It was replaced for this dealer, but as a maintenance issue, I had to pay for it. During this process, I was told that the Arizona heat is hard on batteries. This being the case, I believe that Kia policies be changed, and customer not be sent out with an unwarranted battery. To me, it reflects badly on Tempe Kia and Kia as a whole. Another issue is covered in another complaint.

I own a 2013 KIA Rio Ex. I had many problems with the car. I always take it in to get the routine repairs, oil changes, brakes etc. One day on a really cold day my rear brakes locked up on the road (wheels dragging on the road), thankful that it happened on the side road. Had to get it towed to dealership and getting that call to say that it was my problem, cost me 539 dollars to fix and it took them a week to get the parts for the car. Since Feb 2014 I have spent 1400 dollars in repairs with a car still under warranty. It has also has had problem with the UVO system going for a 3rd unit tomorrow. Stay away from KIAs they are garbage.
