Rx350 Years behind in electronics and user interface. Inconsistent at best. From maps, to rear hatch to phone interface, to trip data it all is terrible. I turned in a Ram 1500 that was two years older but years advanced on all those features. The ride of the Ram was also much better. My previous four Genesis were also much more friendly.

This brand goes to great lengths to add detail to the interior of the car. The detail makes the car feel classy. Intuitive gauges to slick interior is one of the reasons I keep coming back. Gauges are setup in a way that makes it easy to read. Car stark is awesome. The options on wheels was something I liked and upgraded audio was something I found extremely valuable. Updated dashboard lighting was also a plus. Im happy with the amount of space inside the vehicle. I have a family of four plus a dog and never have any issue packing my car for trips.

We took the car to the local dealership in January, August and October asking for them to identify and repair the brake issue. Each time, the dealership told us that they could not find any problems with our brakes without even trying some random things to see if this would fix the issues. Lexus Corporate sent out an inspector to exam our car, but couldnt find anything. Lexus will not help us.On Sunday, November 17th, we were driving back in heavy traffic. The traffic came to a quick stop and my husband again had the same brake issue. Fortunately, he was able to swerve to the shoulder to miss the car in front of him. We are beyond frustrated, as the next time the result could be an accident resulting in an injury or worse. The dealer told us we have exhausted our options with them. Now we have a vehicle which is very scary to drive – especially in heavy traffic or anytime there could be an unforeseen quick stop. We have a very unsafe vehicle that Lexus has turned us away saying they have no more options. However, they didnt even try blowing out the brake lines, adjusting the brakes, reprogramming the ABS - nothing. At this point, I would never buy another Lexus. Good luck if you have any issues.

You will be asked to sign on very higher Value Estimate by saying: this is just an Estimate not actual and when you see the unexpected high bill they will show you the Estimate. You Signed the estimate. What a cheap way to steal money. They charged me Insane for Instaling one tyre. Standard of service had reached from bad to worst. It seems service advisors are forced to Rip every Lexus Owner who walks in. Horrible.... Customers are just a ATM Machine for them..

There were no obvious problems until a multitude of lights came on telling me to get the car to a dealer immediately. I took the car into Mungenast Lexus on Saturday, 3/8/2014 with 89,000 miles. The tech hadnt seen some of the items and I was told I would have to wait until Monday to find out the cause. They got the malfunction lights off and I said I would drive it until they came on again. The car wasnt driven much Sunday or Monday but the lights came on again late Monday and I took the car back to Mungenast on Tuesday, 3/11/2014. On Wednesday, 3/12/2014 I was given an estimate of $10,682.75 for the necessary repairs, not including taxes. Does anyone know of a $73,000 luxury car requiring $11,000 in repairs at 89,000 miles? A car that has been maintained and hasnt been in a wreck, has regular maintenance (although not by Lexus) or any other obvious mistreatment. I made a complaint to Lexus Customer Care (yeah, right!) and they gave me $2000 toward the repairs which I felt was a joke given the forums that point out all of the problems with this car. Virtually all of the repairs necessary are mentioned in all of the forums or other online places to learn of car troubles.I had all of the repairs done except the upper and lower control arms to the tune of $4637.81 including the $2000 credit against the repairs. The upper and lower control arms represent another $4690.15 plus tax. Ive been told to get this done as soon as possible. The car cant really be aligned until these are repaired. I had the first items done in order to get the car back and take advantage of what had been offered before they tried to renege on that. Additionally, I cant sell the car as is because it wont pass a state inspection. Even if I get it fixed, CarFax is probably going to show the repairs so I cant sell it as an individual and if I keep it, Ill be waiting for the other shoe and another $3000 or $4000 in repairs. I feel like I have been really screwed by Lexus with little ability to fight back.I plan to make sure this is known to as many people as possible and am seriously considering a big yellow lemon on all 4 doors with something like, Ask me about my Lexus experience with an e-mail or phone number. I have no idea if this would qualify for a lemon law claim. Repairs: 1) R & L #1 & #2 Upper Control Arms: $3210.35* 2) R&L Lower Control Arms: $1479.80* 3) Water Pump: $701.50 4) R Front Shock: $595.36 5) Brake Actuator: $2704.96 6) Bank 1 & Bank 2 Fuel Ration Sensors7) O-Ring, Fuel Gasket & Insulator at High Pressure $1523.67Fuel Pump: $871.52 *Work not done yet. Work that has been done: $6637.81 including tax. $2000. Lexus credit equals $4637.81. Perhaps the shock and the water pump would be okay although with 7 previous pre-owned cars driven in excess of 125,000 miles I had replace no shocks or suspension items. One fuel pump on a 2005 Lexus at about 100,000 miles.

There was a recall on my Lexus SUV. I was in the hospital when it came out and missed it. Shortly after expiration date I called Lexus and they told me to bring car to the dealer. The dealer found the problem and was happy to fix it. When they reached out for approval at corporate the dealer was told that Lexus would not approve. I wrote the CEO of Lexus USA explaining the problem and challenge due to medical issues. The CEO nor anyone ever had the courtesy to respond to my letter. On May 9, 2012, I purchased a used 2004 Lexus RX 330 for $14,600. I put a down payment of about $6,000 down and financed about $10,000. My payments are for 3 years at around $240. I drove the vehicle to the Lexus manufacturer to have them find out why my vehicle has a bad odor and other items on vehicle. I found out that this vehicle’s sunroof had been leaking and as a result of the sunroof leaking, that carpet has built up mold and was needed to be replaced. They also found out that there were other things on vehicle that needed replacing; seat belt in the rear seat, front arm controls needed to be replaced, radiator needed to replaced, engine cap was clogged, bushing needed to be replaced, the extra key needed a battery, several dents on the vehicle, tires needed to be replaced and several dents and items that needed to be replaced on the vehicle. The manufacturer advised me that the vehicle was not safe to be on the street without these repairs. I took my concern to Steven and he told me several times that he was not going to fix the problem because he did not have to. He insulted me and my relative and he became very belligerently loud and abusive for no reason. I left the premises and advised him I would be back. It has been 1 month later and this situation has not, up to now, been resolved. Can you please help, because I am paying for car insurance and I have the car payment? This vehicle is just sitting in my driveway for the last 2 months. I have had to rent a rental so that I could pick up and take my son back and forth to college. I hope you can help.

Lexus ES330, 2004: I purchased one in 2005 with 13,XXX miles. From day one the slow shift has been a problem. The car constantly bucks when the gears change. I have taken it to service and theyve reset the computer many times. My biggest problem is the delay when accelerating; sometimes 3 to 5 seconds (if at higher speed and need to change lanes, etc. ) the delay has created near misses. I cannot get Lexus to admit this is a problem, or prove it. They say they re-designed the transmission (I think) in 2009. Meanwhile, Im stuck. I hate this car. There has been no change from Lexus service. They do not admit it is a problem.

I leased a 2013 Lexus ES350 from Sewell Lexus in Fort Worth on Oct. 18, 2013. This is the 4th or 5th Lexus ES350 that I have leased and have been very satisfied until this car. We are both retired and have less than 9000 miles on it. We had driven this car without any problems up until Dec. 2014. In Dec. 2014 we went to start the car and the battery was dead. Sewell sent roadside service and replaced the battery. All was good until April 2015. Same problem, dead battery. They checked it out and said everything was good. In April 2015 same problem. They have checked it out. Cannot find problem. Said we dont drive it enough. If so, how did we drive it for over one year with no problems. Anyone else have same problem?

Called in yesterday to a Brisbane Lexus dealer to get a value on my 2017 Lexus ES350. The vehicle is 27 months old, in pristine condition, has just had its 2 year service and has under 18,000 klms on the clock. I was offered in the low $30k should I want to sell it. WOW! How can a vehicle be devalued by over 50% in just over 2 years? No wonder buyers are looking more to buying demo or second-hand vehicles. Maybe it would make good financial sense to check the resale value of BMW, Audi or Mercedes before looking at a Lexus. I am still in a state of shock!

The calipers on the Lexus are really low end. They corrode and seize onto the rotor. Very much a safety issue and there should be a recall. I am having to eat the cost to change both seized rear calipers. They were so badly seized that I had to undo them from the brake line and try to work the slide pins out and even used a torch to heat them to no avail. I ordered 2 new aftermarket calipers and will put them on this week. Also, A/C drain gets clogged from inferior packing and leaks water all over the carpet which can produce harmful mold. Lexus wants $2,000 to unclog the drain and add new improved packing. Requires unbolting tranny and manifold. I am going to try and get my arm up on there where the firewall meets the bell housing and pull the grommet out. This car has had fuel rail recalls, valve recall, piston ring recall and several visits for squeaky brakes. All these problems are really unacceptable for what is supposed to be a well built car.

This has been the worst car I have ever purchased. When I first got it, the rear view mirror started turning dark and the stuff inside started turning black and now its horrible. Years later, the Dashboard and the door panels started getting sticky and anytime you touched them they got black stuff on your finger and would scratch the panels. The dash is so shiny that when you drive in the day you cant even see out the window because of the glare. Now the navigation system doesnt work and it operates the ac, radio, navigation and everything else about the car. I took it to the dealership and they wouldnt touch the nag because the dashboard would fall apart and they dont want to be responsible. They said this happens to everyone that comes in. I called lexus and they cant do anything for me because there hasnt been any complaints filed (what the rep tells me) yet all over the internet thats all you read. On December 2011 I took all my savings to buy the best luxury car to drive and enjoy my Golden years. After receiving various recommendations and reading the reviews I decided to buy a Lexus RX 350. I went to Lexus of Wilmington and purchased Lexus RX 350. The dealership assured me this car would easily last for more than two to three hundred thousand miles if I changed the oil in a timely fashion. On September 21, 2019 the temperature gauge showed my car was overheating, I immediately took it to Newark ToyotaWorld. They found no leaks and there was no warning code or indication on the display panel of any malfunction. I have religiously done maintenance as recommended based on the professional advisement of Lexus from the date of purchase. All maintenance records can be obtained through Newark ToyotaWorld. After taking the RX350 to Toyota on September 21st, I was told by the Newark Toyota dealer that my car needs a new water pump and engine replacement. The cost to replace it with a used engine and no warranty is $8,049.49 and the cost to replace for a new engine is $14,985. I was told to remove my car from their parking lot within a few days. I talked to Lexus customer rep Cindy and Lis ** complaint #**, she told me to get my car towed or transported to Lexus of Wilmington to further analyze the engine malfunctions (I have already spent $120 diagnosis fee, and $100 in towing charges). Why I need to further waste more money for towing to Lexus of Wilmington, plus their diagnosis fee, when it has already been determined by a professional Engineer that there is no compression in the engine, Radiator is leaking, water pump and battery is discharged.Since I no longer have any reliable transportation, I have turned to public transport to go to doctors appointments, and receiving rides from my neighbors to run daily errands like food. I have depleted my savings funneling money into this so-called world class Lexus, now I have no money left to buy any new vehicles. My dream of enjoying my golden years driving a dependable luxury car has become a nightmare. I wish I had gone with a competitor’s product in hindsight. I feel I was cheated out of my money, knowingly I was sold a Lemon by Lexus of Wilmington. Company/dealership has defrauded and I can do nothing.Zubair

Ive been a Lexus owner for many years but recently got a shock on the service charge.. Very high compared to previous services. On examination, most things listed were checked and the supposed listing of balanced all wheels Im told by insider staff did not take place, as did a number of other things. Its likely less than 2 hours was spent on the service but they charged the full service fee. On top of that there is an unexplained miscellaneous charge. I doubt many of the things listed took more than a min or 2 and the labour charge is inflated. I suspect these costs are deliberately inflated motivated by greed, personal bonuses etc and it seems to me that Lexus has changed its approach from providing clear and reasonable service to customers to one of ripping them off and not caring at all.Owners should be told in advance of the basic cost of a service and not be surprised by large charges, and clearer explanations should be given. This is the norm for any service e.g. visiting the Dr or any other professional or trade services. There seems to be an attitude at Lexus that its a prestige car, therefore customers should pay more. Some friends and colleagues also with Lexus cars have found the same.. ie increase in charges without notice and the lack of pre service consultation. Lexus used to have my loyalty and trust.. No more..

Getting close to 50 years old, I decided to purchase a reliable, safe, easy to service car that will last until I can no longer drive. Bought a 2004 Lexus ES 330 with only 18K miles, certified pre-owned. Online reviews were glowing, mechanics said, Youll be bored, but just have oil changes up to 100K miles. Hah! At 20K miles, the dealer insisted that I needed new brakes ($1500?) before they score the rotors. Having owned MBZ, Jaguars, Alfa Romeos, and other temperamental exotics over the years, I am familiar with cars and when things should fail. I took the Lexus to an independent mechanic, and found the brakes were almost new, good for another 20K miles, at least (did brakes at 50K for a reasonable price). Scratch dealer servicing forever. The Lexus was always a compromise... noisy, rough ride compared to the Jags and MBZ, but I figured reliability and no drama was worth it. At 65K miles, struts started leaking... $1,000 ($3000 at dealer). I let them leak. Now, 70K miles, right after an oil change using synth-blend, not full synthetic oil, the valve cover gasket started leaking. Repair is $1,300, which includes timing belt, water pump, pulleys, etc... Cheap, compared to dealer, but still 25K miles too soon. Minor problems, but it seems that prices for simple maintenance on these Toyota/Lexus cars has grown to be as expensive and frequent as the exotics used to be. Might as well lease a BMW or Alfa with full service plan included, and flip it every 3 years. That, or an old classic that increases in value as it gobbles up your wallet in repairs. Like they used to advertise, You asked for it, you got it, Toyota. I sure as ** did! Nothing special about Lexus. Anyone want to buy a well maintained 70K mile ES330 needing 90K mile service and struts?

Lexus ES300H is my dream car. Become my nightmare now. My new car water leaking into the car within 6 months & 8 months. The 1st incident was the sunroof leaking and the 2nd incident was the aircon evaporator coil. I am very disappointed such a premium given such problem. Furthermore, Lexus Service Centre does not have the spare parts on hand. Therefore, I got to wait for a month plus for Lexus Service Centre to repair it.

Why Scout GPS Link is only available on select 2018 model year (NX, RX...) with the Lexus Display Audio multimedia head unit? The reason why I ask this question is that the existing GPS is cumbersome to use comparing with Scout GPS Link. It should be very simple and easy to implement it with the existing system of Lexus as I am a software engineer with more than 30 years of experience. Please let me know if you need my help. This add-in will definitely benefit all of Lexus car users. Thank you.

For two generations, our family has been very loyal by purchasing Toyota cars to drive. For the last 40 years, our family has purchased and driven at least 25 Toyota cars. But we were disappointed with our brand new 2007 Lexus ES350. On December 27th, 2012, I read the article on Yahoo news about the Toyota Motors agreement for settlement of Unintended Acceleration. Well, I owned this 2007 Lexus ES350 and experienced that sudden acceleration problem when the car was set on cruise control driving on the freeway. Therefore, I submitted a written letter by email to Toyota Motors explaining my findings. The reasons for selling this car are because (1) I never heard any reply back from Toyota Motors after submitting a letter to customer service. (2) my wife and family members in Asia was afraid of us driving it in the United States with an accident. Furthermore, they live very far away to come to our immediate attention if we were involved in an accident. (3) Lastly, there were sad news happening here and there because of this sudden acceleration issue. Finally, I sold the car to CarMax dealership in Monrovia, California in March of 2011 with less than 7,000 miles on the odometer. At first, I even went to Longo Lexus/ Toyota (which is the largest Toyota dealership in the United States) to sell the car back, but they explained that there is no recall on my car. The Longo Lexus service foreman even went on a test drive with me in my car and on the street. Also, Longo Lexus/ Toyota refused to give me a reasonable offer to buy my car back. I paid $40,000 brand new and sold the car at a big loss for only $24,000 to CarMax with less than 7,000 miles on the odometer because we were afraid to drive the car.Continuously, our friends and family comfort me that life is more valuable than losing money on a known trouble car. How come Toyota never bothered to help when we have an issue? What happened to good old Toyota reputation? Kindly help me in this matter!

I bought a 2015 Lexus and found out afterwards that I had to pay extra each and every year for this feature. As if that wasnt bad enough it has only worked about 3 times in 2 years. This year is no different. I have called customer service and been to the dealership and still isnt working. I have spent literally hours trying to get this resolved and was just told again that I would have to call again on Tuesday. I am so fed up. I wish I could give back my car and start over. Never again will I buy a Lexus!

Lexus offers a lot of advanced technology and great interior as well as safety for the whole family. The appearance is very up to date and very flashy. It would fit anyones style and it can also be customized to fit the drivers style. There are also many options available to pick from. More great affordable options than other vehicles would have or offer. Plus passenger capacity is great and outstanding. Also very trustworthy and stands behind their words and promises to their customers and company. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a great car.

Exploding glass moonroofs. If you are investigating the purchase of a Lexus with a glass moonroof...beware. They have a tendency to explode for no reason. I was on a desert highway with no vehicles in front of me and all of a sudden my sunroof/moonroof exploded. It sounded like a gun going off over my head and it nearly caused me to wreck it had shocked me so much. I did a little research and apparently this issue is an ongoing one with many other drivers reporting the exact circumstance. The Lexus corporate folks are very, very rude about this and will not help you or offer to pay for what is obviously a manufacturer defect.Very sad to see they will not stand by their product. I will be seeking legal remedy but in the meanwhile, if you must buy a Lexus, stay away from the cars with the glass moonroofs. You could be driving and not only have a sudden shock that can scare the life out of you but if your interior moonroof shade is also open at the same time, you could get badly injured by the falling broken glass shards. Very dangerous.

I purchased a 2004 RX 330 2 years ago with very low mileage, from Lexus of Sarasota, FL and purchased the extended warranty with the vehicle. For the better part of 10 months I have now been working with Tampa of Lexus and the warranty company as the dashboard continues to deteriorate and no resolution at hand that satisfies me. The warranty company despite the fact that we sent over 10 pictures of end to end dashboard cracks, and the fact that Lexus of Tampa, recommended that the dashboard be replaced, only wanted to send a dashboard technician to repair it. The Lexus of Tampa finally wanted to replace it and charge me $250 dollars, but I didnt believe I should be responsible for a single cent of it, since this is a known Lexus issue and Lexus should be accountable. Lexus of Tampa then recommended that I take the vehicle back to Lexus of Sarasota where I originally purchased it and let them deal with the problem. My conversation with the Lexus of Sarasota Service Rep went something like this... Well, we have to weigh several factors. How many vehicles have you purchased from us? which the answer is this is my 4th Lexus, and OBTW, my 2007 Lexus Dashboard is sticky and chipping as well, and this vehicle is still under warranty. How much Service have you done with us? And although, I have performed almost some of my service has been performed at Sarasota, the majority has been done with the Lexus of Tampa, because they are conveniently located near my office and they have better service. Lexus is Lexus and none of these issues should even matter, as Lexus should stand behind their product. Lexus of Sarasota are now going to take pictures and request a Good Will repair ... Stay tuned as I have zero confidence that Lexus knows how to do the right thing for their customers. They have a sticky and cracking Dashboard issue that they simply refuse to own. These will be my last Lexus vehicles because I will not purchase another Lexus if they do not resolve my problem.

Showed the service writer Jaime at Pembroke Pines Lexus the center console covering that was cracking and degrading. He wrote up a service order and told me he would contact me in a few days regarding a warranty claim. I called him a week later and he told me that the person that handles warranty claims went on vacation and would be back in a week. I went away and after I returned I called him on February 5th or so. He said he had not heard anything but he would contact the appropriate people and have an answer for me by days end. I told him if I did not hear from him I would be calling Lexus. He assured me he would call that day. I never heard from him.I called Lexus USA and spoke to Ed. He said he would check into it and get back to me by Friday. I missed his call on Friday. He called Tuesday and informed me that as the dealer had told me, the damage as normal wear and tear. I just told him that my family had 4 Lexus automobiles and they would be our last. When you sell a car for $75,000, the interior should last more than 3 years. My previous car was a 2003 Cadillac, cost 1/2 as much and when I bought the Lexus the center console was in better shape after eight years of use than the Lexus is after 3 years. By the way, Ed from Lexus offered to pay for 1/2 the repair. As far as I am concerned the Lexus warranty is only a 1/2 warranty shown by this situation.

The Lexus RX is the most luxurious car Ive ever driven. Im always complimented about it and the interior is just stunning. And for 40,000 dollars it was definitely a steal and completely worth it. Driving it is smooth and the ride is quiet. The acceleration in 5 seconds took me by surprise. The Lexus RXs can typically hold 6 people. It would be suitable for a small family. If you have a bigger family, Lexus can still hook you up with the GS and the LX etc. I got it in a nice silver color and I always get the urge to wash it (to preserve its beauty). The seats are in great shape, and I find it so amazing that minimal additions and changes could transform it that great. You can customize the interior, exterior and wheels. Its like picking the toppings to add on your perfectly nice fro-yo - its not necessary, but its better - and then you eat it (drive it) and feel content afterwards.

I own a Lexus 2006 and a year ago I started noticing hairline cracks on the dashboard. I spoke with a Lexus representative and he said that Lexus is aware that it is a manufacture defect and I should take it to the dealer and they should replace it. I took it in to North Miami Lexus dealer. The guy took pictures and said that he submitted the claim. I followed up with him since he never called me back to follow up. After 5 weeks he said that Lexus will replace it but I will have to pay $1000. He also said that I can call Lexus customer service if I am not happy. I did call them and followed up with Customer Service manager, Michael, was told that since the car is outside of warranty (however, very low mileage and they recognize that, could have been covered under that) they can only extend the dealers offer and that is very fair. They never looked at the pictures since the dealer didnt upload them and apparently someone in the other department declined for Lexus to take full responsibility for the defect. After searching the issue online, I realize that I am not the only one with the same issue and that different Lexus owners were offered different deals. My belief is that they never even looked into the issue and I was given the generic answer by the customer service management. This is very disappointing and would love to join a class action suit. Lexus is aware of this defect and just getting away with it. The luxury car dealer is washing their hands off. I am not angry but very dissatisfied to look at the car everyday and see the cracks while it is suppose to be a luxury car.

This car (Lexus ES 330) is very good now and has served me well. I have had it new since 2004 and still running like a champ. I have liked this car from the beginning and still do. Its design is not too over the top and theres not a lot of extra bells and whistles. Just enough of a design to keep it simple yet it works. I dont need all the extras, I just need basic transportation and most of all safety is the biggest plus in any car. I believe in safety first and foremost. This car being 12 years old still has some of the goodies. It has the sun/moonroof, lots of airbags and antenna in the window vs. actual antenna that you see on cars. Its a 5 passenger car and has great sound from the stereo and many speakers too. It also has leather seats heated for your comfort, dual thermostat for the heater or air conditioner and lots of trunk space you can open from the inside of the car.

I have 66,000 on my 2008 Lexus GS 350. I have really only had one problem with my car, and that being the rear calipers froze. I have a certified pre-owned warranty that would cover this problem had I not taken my car to a personal mechanic for brake pads. He is the one who realized the calipers froze. It was towed to Lexus and it took me 3 weeks of fighting and speaking with the owner of the Lexus dealership to get it covered. Now 6 months later the headlight went out, When I looked and noticed there was condensation in the housing of the light. Again I still have a bumper to bumper warranty but again, this is not covered. The seal is broke and they state this is normal wear and tear. $1791.00 to replace, ARE YOU KIDDING ME. WHAT does the certified pre-owned warranty cover because at this point I have had two issues and neither of them are covered under this warranty. So with that said, and the fact that it took me 1 year and 2 months to get mats for my vehicle that were promised as part of the purchase deal from my salesman, and then they were not LEXUS mats. They were WALMART cheap mats... I AM ALL SET WITH BUYING ANOTHER LEXUS. SO NOT WHAT THEY PORTRAY THEMSELVES TO BE...

It has always been my dreams to one day own a Lexus. However, this is not what I intended or expected from such a prestigious and renowned luxury car dealership. Two weeks after purchasing my Pre Owned Certified Lexus ES 350 I have had nothing but major problems with this car, both mechanical and interior issues. The paint on the car is fading and very spotty, the armrest and the leather seats are tearing apart by the day. Typically I am the only one using the car, other than my husband who has his own car, and I do not have any children that would exacerbate the problem. Just recently there was a problem with my trunk latch that was making it almost impossible to close my trunk. I took it to the dealership, and thank goodness it was covered by the warranty.Once I received the car back, about a week later, I noticed the same thing started happening again with the latch, and I also noticed an echo sound when closing the trunk that was not there before they serviced the vehicle. Immediately I contacted their corporate office and told them my concerns, but to no avail. They offered me a voucher that could probably pay for one tire, and just wished me away. I really feel abandoned and betrayed by this dealership, and to some degree, heart broken because this was my dream car. I hope that they can get these current problems resolved without dragging me through a long and drawn out process, and not having to obtain a lawyer to get to the bottom of these issues. If anyone has any suggestions or comments that could help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am the owner of two Lexus vehicles. I am investing my time to inform you of my feelings towards Lexus; as the respect, integrity and trust, which I have so highly esteemed about Lexus, has been compromised. This time the 2007 Lexus ES 350 with just 34,000 miles encountered a problem with the passenger window as it would no longer function properly. What I learned is that the window mechanism is so cheaply made that the plastic parts just broke apart. This design flaw resulted in a five hundred dollar plus repair bill that stole hard-earned dollars from other priorities my family has at this time. When I needed to truly rely upon Lexus reliability during challenging economic times, you let me and my family down. What is concerning is the fact the other three windows will certainly face the same catastrophic failure. (And surprisingly, considering the fact that the windows are hardly ever used as the Florida heat makes the AC priority one). The bottom line is this: Why would I ever buy another Lexus product when price and value are so far apart? Please let me know how you may be able to help given the aforementioned situation that my family and I currently find ourselves in.Lexus Service Specialists phone reply: As you did not visit our service department and took your car to a private repair facility, you voided your warranty. My car was well out of warranty, but they said that the CPO (certified pre-owned) Warranty would have covered this had I gone to the dealer. Well actually, the CPO would not cover a window repair; but the Service Specialists... they would have helped if I would have asked. Wow, with my other Lexus which had several service issues, the dealership was very specific that the warranty did not cover my problem and all costs would be borne by me. It is so sad to be witnessing the demise of the famed Lexus brand name. My friends and neighbors, who also own Lexus products, have also commented never again when asked if they would purchase another Lexus, as their own experiences have been much worse than mine… so sad.

I bought my 2006 GS300 1/07 with 7,000 miles. I had all maintenance performed at the dealership since ownership. Absolutely nothing performed elsewhere, whether oil/filter, tires, brakes, etc. All periodic maintenance was religiously performed. My car would rough idle occasionally, and it began eating oil several years ago. Numerous oil consumption checks, and many, many trips to the dealership. My check engine vsc light came on 1/5/15, something that had occurred previously on multiple occasions, and I immediately took it to the dealership. Was told I NOW need the engine misfire repair, which to my understanding includes replacement of the pistons. Lexus Satisfaction has to get involved after the request for the repair from the dealership was denied by Lexus because the car is now 9 years old (which coincidentally just occurred). The engine misfire repair will be performed as long as the car is less than 9 years old. I then battled with Lexus Dissatisfaction and was ultimately informed they would not compromise on their decision. It is truly a very disappointing decision. Nothing more than typical corporate games. I will NEVER purchase another Lexus.

All cars have problems, but before you purchase take a look at some of the issues in the BMW section... Valve guide seals ($4k), evaporator cores ($3k), coolant leaks, multiple window regulators, transmission issues, a/c issues, water pump issues, electrical issues and even engine bolts that break off! The list goes on and on. Just do a Google search. And these are with BMWs with 50,000 and 60,000 miles. I hope that my story will convince people to do their research and at least consider the Lexus brand.I bought my Lexus GS400 in 1999, and now at 16 years old and with 215,000 miles in my opinion it is one of the most reliable vehicles ever built. If you do some research, the 1UZ-FE V8 engine produced by Toyota in the late 90s (and used in the GS, LS, Tundra, LX, etc.) is one of the most bulletproof engines ever made. It will pretty much run forever. There are vehicles with this engine on the road today with 300,000, 400,000 even 500,000 miles and more. Even though it has evolved somewhat, it is still pretty much the same V8 motor used in Lexus vehicles today. That should tell you something. Now to my vehicle. In the first 5 years of ownership, I didnt have a single problem with my car. Not one. I replaced a battery, but that is something you would do with any car. In the 6th year, the throttle body assembly needed repair, but not a big deal. In the 10th year my starter contacts went bad (they go bad in all cars) and my alternator went out (again, expected for a 10 year old car!). Other than that its pretty much been regular maintenance: oil changes, tires, brakes. In 16 years I have never changed the spark plugs!! They are original. Ive driven up and down the east coast and this car has never left me stranded.Again, do your research and choose wisely. Today, KBB values my car at about $5-6k (it was $46k originally) but it doesnt matter because if someone wanted to purchase it today I would say its not for sale. I am keeping this one. Im sure Ill purchase a 2nd vehicle one day for fun - maybe a convertible - and guess what brand that will be? A Lexus of course! Even then Im not trading in my GS400 - this car is staying in my garage.

I contacted the corporate office and they referred me to Lexus of Pembroke Pines service department to take a picture of the dash and they would forward the photos to them. After they received the photo, I was told that they had to look at my maintenance history with Lexus to decide what they would do to resolve my problem since my car was out of warranty. I stopped having my car maintenance done at Lexus last year because of the issues I always would run in to with the service department at the North Miami Beach dealership. They always wanted to push off extra things that I didnt come there for. And when I would refuse they would have an attitude. So I decided, why spend your money at a business where there is bad customer service skills.I faithfully had my car serviced the entire time that I had my car. When I asked to speak with someone else at the Corporate office they decided that they will pay for the labor and I can pay for the parts. I feel that when you buy a Lexus, you should never have to worry about a issue like a melting sticky dashboard. I have purchased Hondas, Mercedes Benz, and Jaguar and never had an issue like this. I will be in the market again for a new car and I will not take a change and buy another Lexus and have to worry that the same thing will happen.

Lexus offers cars that are very fast and comfortable to drive. I am a fast driver so I would recommend a car from this brand. The appearance of the cars would be defined as beautiful and makes you fall in love. They all have their own unique look. The car is very nice, they have a wonderful shade of color. Because of this they look more beautiful than they really are. It has love and adventure written all over it. If I had a family we would go everywhere in that car. Thanks for the car. The girls go crazy for these cars.

It also has nice sleek model with iron mesh and grand beautiful color with hand crafted Italian leather finish with good interior as well as exterior. Its easy to upgrade to any other premium line and its not much of the expensive or add upon any other features inside or out. Its big enough for as much as 6 people with huge capacity for people as well as the cargo and its useful for all the passengers in future also. So far, Ive never encountered any problems.

Updated on 09/04/2019: Lexus has refused responsibility for the poor design of the 10 speaker sound system in this vehicle. No fix. In a arbitration hearing an arbitrator referenced that the design of the sound system is such that it will not operate property (two regular speakers in the back cabin are simply overwhelmed and stated that this is how Lexus designed the speakers) but still denied claim - what a joke and a waste of time. My last Lexus!!!Original review: Rear speakers are worthless. Will only work if you fade completely to the rear (no sound then from front) and increase volume to at least 45 level. Lexus will not respond other than to say that is normal for this model - a manufacturing problem. Class action?

I bought a Certified 2004 RX330 from Lexus Clearwater. I bought the car in 06, the SUV had 22k miles, was soon told I needed new tires. Did research as why would I need new tires now, especially on a Certified car, with so little mileage and only two years old. The tires were switched out, they were Cooper tires which arent the tires from the Lexus manufacturer. When I asked Clearwater Lexus about this and told them someone from Tampa Lexus had talked with me about the issue, they said, Why would you listed to Tampa Lexus? They are worse than we are!! I spoke with the corporate office and best they would do is offer new tires at retail - still bogus. Now my dash is cracking and Lexus Tampa said $1900 to replace, and 10% off as I dont service my car there enough for a larger discount. Now the headlights are cloudy and there is a recall, but there are no parts for their own recall just an acknowledgement that there is an issue. I was duped by Lexus, they are horrible. Very sorry I ever bought a car from them. Dealerships should provide an actual printout on how they certify a car, if they had, the tires wouldnt have passed a certification test. Like a home inspection, I want to see levels and percentages of wear and tear and how they could ever pass worn tires as certified. Lexus shmexus. Poor quality, certified means nothing, horrible customer service.

My car had a sunroof, full-leather interior, a 6-cd disc changer, v6 engine, power windows and automatic locks. I also enjoyed the ability to adjust my sunroof as I pleased or use the tilt option for a slight breeze. I greatly appreciated the cd changer given that I traveled between cities a lot. It gave me comfort to know I truly would enjoy my time on road. I didnt have the chance to upgrade my car much due to financial limitations. However, Lexus did offer many different upgrade and personalization options. There were upgrades for the seating as far as different colors of leather, and initial embroidery that add a personal touch. Even though the car seemed small, it could really hold its weight in passengers and seat them comfortably. At one point, I had eight people in a 4-door Lexus--6 kids and 2 adults! I hauled off my whole apartment with just this one car! I liked the size because it wasnt too big or too small and it was very easy to handle and control the vehicle. Overall Lexus truly holds up to their brand by creating reliable, luxurious and efficient cars. As a college student, I constantly traveled between cities and in just five years I put on over 200,000 miles. Im thankful to have had my Lexus by my side while pursuing my future!

There are many Lexus fun luxury models. I looked at Extreme Luxury XJ3, XJ1 -- all good models for me, priced different. Very hard to choose the one I wanted and took three months to pick. Waited to test drive till I was sure. Went online to check different models colors, prices to be sure. Had many things I wanted -- leather seats, CD player, GPS tracking, GPS navigation, and any add-on I could think of for me, heated seats, etc. Love two colors, white and black, and went with black. Overall love the two-door model. Just wanted four people capacity. Thats all I would need being childless. Four doors and more room wasnt needed for me. Like the more compact cars anyway. Easier to drive and love it better. Great color and model, and its the best for me.

I am an owner of this model mentioned in title and did not know what I was getting myself into when purchasing this vehicle. Should have done further researches. Anyway, we learned from mistake. This model is well known for his faulty ABS actuator and Lexus would not want to replace it saying that you are out of the warranty time frame of 5 months (Despite the very low mileage that you have), when they know for sure the car was made with a faulty part (which is why they extended the warranty on it in the first place). That is very low coming from Lexus. They are supposed to be one of the world class customer service especially considering the price of their product. Like I said, Ive learned my lesson. 2007 Lexus RX350 - I had to replace rack and pinion steering column due to a leak at 74k miles. I had to replace 2 coils in 2 of the cylinders, one at 62K and 77K miles. In a year, I have had to put over $2,200 in this supposedly reliable car. The car has lots of road noise. I was thinking it was the tires, but recently drove a 2013 loaner with new tires and the road noise is as bad as in my 2007. Im questioning whether or not it is really the tires at all. I looked at 3 Toyota SUVs and they all had awful road noise and thought that stepping up would be different. I cant wait to get rid of this car and will never get a Toyota or Lexus again. I do not know how this car gets the number 1 luxury mid-SUV ratings.

At just over 130,000 miles, my 2002 Lexus ES300 Sedan, which I bought used in 2009, quit running. I had it towed to my mechanic of 14 years. The engine is totally locked up due to oil sludge. The oil had just been changed. There was plenty in the car and it was the color of caramel. The oil my mechanic pulled out of the bottom of the engine is the color of road tar and just about as thick. I serviced my car regularly. He called Lexus and they told him this had been a problem. I’m asking Lexus for a new engine but know it will be a battle regardless of the validity of my claim. Anyone have any advice/recommendation on how to ensure this has a positive outcome for me?

2008 RX 350 with 104,000 miles. I purchased extended warranty that was up 3 months ago. Took car in and was told I need a new water pump. Bearings in water pump went back causing leaking and affecting the heating and cooling system. Also need a new steering rack costing $1,700 by itself. It is also leaking. As I read through the comments Im seeing that these are consistent problems with Lexus. I usually keep cars at least 10 years. I have never owned a car that needed these type of repairs so soon. I am extremely disappointed because Lexus vehicles are supposed to be down for quality and reliability. If I had wanted a car just for appearance, I could have paid a lot less, knowing I may have to put in large repair sums. The water pump is supposed to cost over $1,000.00. Will not recommend vehicle. I purchased extended warranty knowing I was getting a reliable vehicle and probably wouldnt have to use it. But to be on the safe side because I had planned on keeping for well over 10 years. As soon as extended warranty expired, Im have costly problems.

I purchased my 2012 Lexus in 2013 with a little over 6,000 miles. I took it to Freeman Lexus and they admitted that other customers have the same complaint but its not covered under the warranty and Corporate would have to cover it. I contacted Corporate and they said they wouldnt do anything about it.This car is too new to have this issue and is a factory defect or inferior product of leather if you ask me. I do NOT recommend anyone purchasing a Lexus especially if you expect to have a luxury car and put out 50k+. I owned a 2006 Lexus and never had problems. I have contacted the Lexus service and and went to the service departments in person. They all didnt accept the car. I dont get it. I had the car checked before I shipped it from the States and I did make a complaint about the engine shaking to the service department when I was in New York, Manhattan service center. I had the car checked and the service department told me everything was fine. Now the car is dangerous to drive, engine light is on and the traction light is on. I went to a mechanic here and he said that some cylinders needed to be replaced. Other than that, my drivers side drive shaft needs to be replaced due to the rubber that is wearing off and some kind of liquid is coming out of it, which cost a lot of money and I went to the dealership and they told me that they couldnt even order the parts for me because they would never come. The car has two recalls that needs to be done. The gas pedal keeps getting stuck to the carpet and something that has to do with the fuel, and Lexus is putting my life at risk because I got the car from the States. I really do not understand. The car is still a Lexus and still belongs to Lexus. Im demanding the repair to be done by Lexus company at least from Japan. If you would at least send me an email to someone I can speak to in Japan, I would really appreciate it. The car only has about 9000 miles which is considered still new. Ive asked the Lexus here in Saudi Arabia to at least check the car from the computer to see what the problem is. They refused and told me the codes wouldnt come up because its an American spec car which is really just an excuse because Im 100% sure that it will read all the codes. Please direct me to someones email, just someone who could help me. I moved to Saudi Arabia and had to ship my car because of my work and was transferred here. Im seriously going to look up legal actions against Lexus!

I am wondering how Lexus rates so high for quality and service. I have purchased a 2013 Lexus ES 300h fully loaded and have been very disappointed. I respect JD Power’s results and this is why I picked the Lexus ES as it is highly recommend. The Mark Levinson system is the worst I have ever heard as a premium system. The response from Lexus has been terrible or lack of. I have driven luxury vehicles for the past 25 years, and Lexus has been the worst customer service I have ever encountered and cannot understand how Lexus is so highly rated. I am not the only person who feels this way. After my situation, I started to go online and found many other people with the same concern. I think when a company rates other corporations, it should look at websites, forums and related blogs to get sense of customer satisfaction. I have contacted Lexus every other day for three weeks before I received a reply from someone. I think when you look at the price of the Lexus ES, Lexus really cheap out, claiming heated wood steering wheel - none of the wood is heated, ventilated front seats that do not work very well, no sunglass holder, no compass on the mirror if you upgrade to a GPS, and very poor voice commands on the GPS system. The vehicle feels very cheap; when you close the door, you can hear it is hollow. My vehicle is 6 weeks old and I have had the amp and subwoofer replaced as it blew, and a door speaker and the system still sound terrible. Lexus just band aids the issue and is not fixing it. My fear is if Lexus cannot remedy a stereo issue, what will happen when it is a really big issue?

First of all, this is my first ever negative review for any company. Unfortunately, based-on what has just happened to us, I felt an obligation to at least warn others. Lexus doesn’t stand by their brand, and ultimately won’t take care of loyal customers even when your car is still somewhat in warranty. We’ve owned two other Lexuses over the past 15 years and have proclaimed we would only buy Lexus going forward for life. Our 2014 RX350 (purchased in 2015 at 28k miles) had a 100k mile warranty or Sept. 2020 expiration. We are just under 130,000 miles on the vehicle and our engine is completely gone (just 6-year old car).We spent over $300 for the diagnostic test alone at the dealership at the request of the manufacturer to validate the assessment of a trusted third party repair shop who told us that the engine was shot and would need to be replaced costing $10K. The Lexus dealership provided an estimate over $6K to fix an engine with the disclaimer that more parts may be needed after tearing it down (assuming the cost is going to be much more). This is not even a new engine replacement. All regular maintenance has been done faithfully at an independent and reputable auto service business.Lexus manufacturer has completely refused to help in any way even though a representative at the dealership says they never see this happen in these models. Our car is unfortunately not worth more than $13,000 and the cost of repairs simply don’t make sense. Lexus doesn’t stand behind its product and have definitely tarnished it’s reputation as a brand. We would have probably spent at least $300k more in our lifetime on Lexus vehicles and passed down the current vehicle to our daughter because of their perceived reliability and quality. This is not the case!!!!They washed it all away for simply not replacing our engine this once or even helping in some way (they didn’t even reimburse us for the diagnostic test they requested to consider the issue). Lexus should be ashamed, and I hope this review helps someone else avoid this situation in the future. Lexus, don’t brag about your product reliability, customer service, and commitment to customers satisfaction. Going forward we will chose to do business with a company with more integrity and honesty.

We have an 07 LS460 that was purchased as a certified car in July 2010 with 29,000 miles. I was called around November 2012 when car was in for service about extended warranty. The guy said that he would get with us before certified ran out. We had car in for service in June 2013. They replaced a few items and were told of a knocking noise when braking. Neither myself or the Lexus folks think about the warranty. Now 2 weeks out of warranty and only 52,000 miles on the car, it needs a brake actuator at a quoted cost of 3,000 dollars. They have offered a 50 percent off to fix it. When I look online I see that the knocking noise was this part. This is our 3rd LS and also 1 RX for my daughter. Very disappointed with Lexus. Could be a safety issue and seems to be a problem on the newer LS. After 16 years of having a Lexus, there will be no more. I was told that they would work with me if I traded the car on a newer one, that they could absorb the $1500 in the trade. What a bunch of trash.

Sent my my 395.00 fee (what-ever in lease contract) BUT THEN SAW A FEE ADDED OF $150.00.Can you guess why they added $150.00 - never guess in a million years. REMOVAL OF A BUMPER STICKER. YEP, $150.00 because they didnt say hey you might want to remove that sticker - the finance guy who looks over the vehicle is a real **. Nope just turned over keys - thank you very much and then one month later sent me a bill that I called on to figure out $150.00 for what? Did you have a 26.2 sticker on your car? Yes. Well thats what the charge is for - removal ARE YOU GUYS SERIOUS!Wrote to the higher ups - called the people who I leased the vehicle from and no one cared and no one returned phone calls. Then had the balls to send to a collection agency. Protection plan $2,000 - one month early - under mileage that I paid for upfront! Perfect condition. So you know what screw you Lexus. I paid the $150.00 and I will tell my friends and then they will tell theirs and so on and so on about how unfair you guys were to a client. So maybe you wont post on your precious Lexus Facebook page without your people reviewing but I can post here and I can tell the world! Maybe thats my satisfaction and of course never ever lease/buy a Lexus.

I had a worst case scenario of a safety recall: defective valves broke and I had total engine failure. Lexus did honor the repair, though I was under 100k mileage, I was over 3 yrs. They kept car 3 wks, replace one engine block and the valves. I paid for brakes, flushing system, and a new starter (car suddenly didnt start when I went to pick up car after 3 wks. Strange! Starter was another $1300. Car has 67,000 miles. This car is terrible... The brakes I can feel under foot and they sound like they need new brakes, not like they just had a brake job. The engine runs rough and loud. Makes some noises. The car also has a roar. The driver door even squeaks now and the whole car makes a noise and is rough. Its embarrassing! Has anyone had any problems? They had to take it apart and put it back together... Im thinking they didnt do a good job. Its not the same car. Any help or advise? I dont even know what to tell them.

I have owned two LEXUS ES since 2001 and have had excellent experience with each. My first was a 1998 and was finally totaled by a hit and run driver in 2016 but had 275000 miles on it without a single repair to the engine or transmission. I serviced as recommended but nothing broke on that car. We have a 2007 now with all options and love this car too. So far at just over 100k miles, we have had mice eat some wires under the hood and the VSC, traction and check engine lights have remained on since repaired and we are not sure why. Also the new car has been hacked and cant figure out how to solve. To those who complain about paying annual to use features, I say dont buy luxury if you cannot afford it and every car has additional features to pay for! OnStar Satellite radio, etc. Overall Lexus is an affordable car at new, used prices so no complaints here! Also one thing about Lexus of the so many things I love is that there is NO road noise!

Luxury cars at their finest - Beautiful cars and so sleek with factory wheels and chrome everything. Some even have heated steering wheels so hands dont get cold. Even though they may be expensive, you get what you pay for. The deluxe editions have cd players, moonroofs, sunroofs, tinted windows, leather interior, and chrome rims. Definitely spacious enough to have plenty of people ride along. Back seats are roomy enough for four people to sit comfortably. Lexus LS 400 models are the ones that I have owned and I was in love with both of them. They have everything on them from heated seats to moonroofs. The first one I ever owned had a six-disk cd changer built into the trunk.

I am a current owner and driver of a 2007 Lexus is250. This car was purchased brand new in October 2006 from the Westminster Lexus dealership. Since the very beginning this car has had many problems which include numerous manufacturer recalls. In 2011, shortly before the warranty expired, the navigation unit went out. By the time the car was taken in, it was 60 miles over the warranty miles (Warranty was void because of mileage not years). The dealership said that we would have to pay for the repairs and quoted the repair to be $2,300+. Also around this time, the dashboard began to get sticky. Another repair that would have to be fixed out of pocket. This car has been very well taken care of. We made sure that we followed all the manufacturers recommendations on how to properly care for this car. We have never used any solvent or spray on the dashboard and followed the recommendations to use warm water. A sunshade has been used since the first day to shield the sun away from the dark interior. I have tried countless times to see if any Lexus dealership could help me out because this has to be a manufacturers defect but no dealership has offered to help. I have met several Lexus owners that have experienced the same problems. I have read on online forums even more people from all parts of the United States and in the U.K. who have the same problems. I am not as concerned with the little problems with the car as much as I am with the navigation unit and the dashboard. I finally decided to contact Consumer Affairs after a friend suggested I do. She has a separate problem with her Lexus and said that bringing this to your attention may finally get results. I feel as though buyers of Lexus are getting the short end of the stick. We spend so much money purchasing a luxury car but end up with a defective vehicle that requires more money to fix. Im not even going to go into details about the cars paint.

They had various models that I was interested in with various trim level for each model. They could have more models, but what they had was adequate, even if it wasnt huge. Their cars are high quality and the prices are reasonable. They use high quality parts in their car, and their cars are very reliable, i.e. good value for the price paid. There arent many upgrade options and personalization available. They only have a few trim level that you can choose from which bundles in the various options. I would prefer more ala carte selection so that I can choose only the options that I want and not have to pay for some options that I dont really want. The model I was interested in all seats 5 passengers comfortable. There was plenty of interior room as well as cargo space to carry both people and stuff. It could be tight if all passengers are large.
