I hate my 2009 X6. Since I purchase this car 2012, I have had it in the shop 6 times for electrical issues! They tell me at the dealership they cant find anything wrong with it..... go figure but I keep taking it back. The last 2 times my son was in the car and the problems started. I want to trade it but I cant at this time.... No more BMW for me!

We are in the market for a newer 3 series BMW sedan. Our current 2002 325i has 240k miles. I have been a faithful BMW owner since 1970. But after the problems with our 2002 325i engine I am not sure about BMWs in our future. Last April we on a road trip to visit our son in Asheville, NC with the intention of purchasing a 3 series BMW. Our experience at BMW of Asheville was not impressive. We found a car during a web search of BMW of Asheville website. We were greeted at the door, offered a drink of water and introduced to sales specialist. The car apparently had some theft and paint damage while at the dealership. So the car was in the paint shop. But after an hour we were getting annoyed having not seen or Sat in a car. Then I noticed our sales specialist jumping in the air with a key fob I assume trying to locate the car. With Millions of dollars in inventory it would seem simple, to note on the inventory number where it is located and status. The dealership giving us excuses just lowered our confidence in the dealership. In the future I hope customers find a different experience than we had. Still needing a newer car we are looking at a 2007 328i. But after reading the reviews posted here. I am seriously questioning what I am about to do. Can I just on faith that it will turn out okay. Or will the insensitivity of corporate wear me out!

I bought a 2006 BMW 750i CPO. I bought the car with only 39000 miles on it. I have 67000 miles now. I was told the car had 6 years and 100000 miles of warranty on it. When I called about another problem with the car, was told the cars warranty had elapsed. I told them the car was warrantied until 2012. The dealer told me the car was bought in 2005 even though it is a 2006 model and that it had expired. I informed them that the sales person told me the car was warrantied until 2012 and not 2011. They will not honor any warranties. Since purchasing the car, I have been in the shop for Thermostat problem, lighting problem, fluid leak problem from transmission and coolant, steering column problem, etc. I called the dealer and National BMW and nobody will help me. The transmission now has a warning light. If I replace transmission it will cost $5k to $7K.

It sounds like a tractor and it drives like one. Engine is struggeling under 3000 rpm and above it, the vibrations are so severe that you will think twice about driving above 60 miles per hour for extended periods of time. The Rotax engine is the worst engine I have ever driven. Good for your lawnmower but that,s it. And, in my opinion, not worthy of the BMW badge.Pro,s: it is reliable, cheap to maintain, and easy to handle.

I purchased my 2012 BMW X5 last November with 18K miles and a factory warranty. I brought the car in for its first service (in June, the computer told me) and oil change and to fix the tire air sensor. After the oil change was completed and supposedly the air tire sensor was fixed, I was told to call the service rep if I had any more issues. Well within a few minutes of leaving the dealer, the light flashed on and off and has been doing this ever since. Well I took it in today for another schedule service apt. - rear brakes (the computer told me too) - and to again check out the tire air sensor. I was told this would take one or two hours, so I waited (I was told they were out of loaners). (Note: work is over an hour away and home is 1/2 hour away). After over 3 hours, I got the car back and was told that I would have to come back yet again to fix this complicated tire air sensor - a couple of days will be needed to troubleshoot this issue, which I dont really care that much about. Air sensors are problematic on a lot of cars. I got in my car and the car said service check (computer) in two thousand miles (about maybe 6 weeks for me). So back at the dealer soon.Well I regret buying a BMW. It is an excellent ride. I didnt realize I would be spending so much time at the dealer for service for a late model car with relatively low mileage. So not worth it unless you live within a few minutes of the dealer. And yes the dealer will give me a ride anywhere! I work for myself, so every hour I am sitting in the dealer is an hour I am not getting paid for. I wish BMW would take some consideration for our time and realize not all of us have time to visit the BMW service dept. every month. I hope to get rid of this vehicle soon. So now I have to bring the car back for the third time - for the same issue. Oh well thats what I get for buying a BMW.

I have taken my BMW 328i in three times to the Plano BMW dealership to have fixed for check engine light which keeps coming up every 3 to 4 months. One of the issues has been an EVAP leak error which keeps coming up every 6 months. Now they say you have to continue paying to diagnose the same issue that they could not fix. I have had it with BMW and when comparing it to my E350 Mercedes Benz I will give Mercedes a thumbs up on their service and their car. I am just so frustrated with BMW and this will be the last car I buy with them.

I took my BMW 328i with 48,000 miles in to the BMW Birmingham service department on a Friday afternoon for a new battery. I was told by the service advisor that it needed coils, a new belt, belt tensioner, and some type of “boot” due to an oil leak. They quoted my over $2,000 for the repair. I told them I could not afford that much unexpected repair work and agreed to the battery and coils, which they said were a minimum to get the vehicle running properly at a cost of about $1,250. I also told them that my 16-year-old daughter drives the vehicle to school (around 5-10 miles a day) and that I was having it repaired because she wanted to drive it to a school dance the following day. 10 days later and less than 100 miles following the $1,250 repair, the vehicle was towed to the private garage of a retired BMW technician due to a coolant leak. After he inspected the vehicle, he told me that there was nothing wrong other than the radiator hose clamp had been removed and slid down the hose at the heater core. This could be seen easily by a BMW technician. He repaired the vehicle by reconnecting the hose/hose clamp and replacing the coolant.I called Birmingham BMW 6 times without a return call over a 10 day period and went by the dealership in-person once to speak with them about my issue and no one would talk with me. When I asked to speak with a manager and for a business card for the manager I was told that everyone was in a meeting and that they did not give out business cards. I persisted for a contact in writing for management and the wrote a name and number on a post-it note.I shared this with BMW of North America and asked for help contacting the dealership. I received a call from a service advisor the following day, who proceeded to make excuses when I shared my concerns then he transferred me to a service manager who acted in disbelief when I told him what happened to me. I shared my concern that the service department was pushy about the need for service with urgency to do it quickly before something broke and rendered the car undriveable. I question this culture within the dealership and asked the service manager how a technician could miss something as obvious as a clamp that had been disconnected and slid down the hose? I was told that the technician would not see an issue with the cooling system since he was working on the battery/coil pack/electrical system. To which I replied, then how did they find issues related to an oil leak and the belt and belt tensioner? And they had no response other than they would check into it. I have had no further response and feel that I cannot trust BMW Birmingham, Alabama to service my vehicle.

I had my car serviced and a day and a half later after I paid 1800.00 to fix it, the same lights came back on. I took it back and they tell me it cost another 11,000. If I knew it was going to cost that, I wouldve fixed it for the 1800. I also had a oil change and the same oil light coming on and they didnt put a sticker up for my next oil service. I purchased a 2013 328xi for my wife in June 2016. It came with 18 alloy wheels and brand-new Pirelli run-flat tires. After a few months, the rear passenger tire kept losing air. I took it in for inspection 8/23/17 and was told it was due to a cracked wheel. My wife never hit anything with that wheel that would cause such severe damage. The service rep said that she probably hit a pothole and that the run-flats dont provide enough cushion to protect the wheel. In other words, its a defect in the wheel/tire assembly (borne out by a class-action suit settled by BMW for cracked wheels on the Z4 in 2015). The solution offered by the service agent was to replace the wheel and tire for $1,035. I asked if BMW would take back the run-flats (with only 5700 miles) and replace with conventional tires so I wouldnt risk another wheel crack from a pothole. The answer was no.So I paid for a new wheel (discounted 50% by BMWNA after filing a complaint) and took the car to Discount Tire and bought 4 new Conti Extremes in trade for the run-flats at $30 each. Cost me $758. They inspected the right rear tire and saw no evidence of damage. There was also no evidence of impact to the wheel - just the hairline crack. BMW of San Diego could have done the right thing by replacing the defective wheel at no charge (the car is still under warranty), but instead tried to fleece me for the full cost of a new wheel and a tire that wasnt damaged. In fairness, the service manager, William **, made a good-faith effort to make this right. But the dealership and BMW didnt care. BTW, the car actually handles much better with the Continental Extreme Contacts, and the ride is much more comfortable. We just have to pray that she wont get a flat, because there aint no spare.

Bought new 2008 full service record drive, went out 31000 miles. BMW took bike hostage for 2 half weeks prime riding season to figure out if they would stand behind it. Dealer said, “Dont worry you had all service required done, should be no problem.” After holding bike 2 and a half weeks, “Oh sorry too far out of warranty.” Dealer gives used drive 1600 dollars, no warranty. This is a normal BMW consumer experience. Dealer said all the drives they rebuilt none have ever came back but up here you dont get that many miles per year, all confident in their rebuild but no warranty. Total terrible experience, looking at different kind of bike next time. No more high quality BMW experiences for me.

At the end of the 4th year, my front windshield rubber sealer started cracking and falling off - small cracks on the back window as well. I talked to my dealer and I was told, It is normal. Ive never had such normal experience with other vehicles - Ford, Nissan, Lexus and Benz. It is not covered under warranty. I was told it is not even a service provided at the dealership. Id be better off if I just call an auto glass shop. I strongly advise BMW to use better material for the sealer.

I bought my 2002 BMW 330ci in October of 2011, since then I have had to have the cam shaft censor replaced ($270). It has been misfiring for an unknown reason causing the check engine light to stay on constantly and causing it to idle down and die every once in a while. Also, adding to my list of non working car parts, my trunk doesnt seal properly and leaks and the convertible top will not go down yet leaks every time it rains ($700 to fix) and my passenger door wont unlock and the lock is stuck down in the door making my passenger door unable to open ($300 to fix). Now it is February of 2012 and my reverse went out completely and with no warning at all. I have had nothing but problems in the short time I have owned the vehicle so now it is parked in my driveway until I can come up with the $4000 or more for a new transmission. I am not only dissatisfied but also angry and disappointed. I bought BMW because I thought I was buying quality and dependability. I am very let down and can honestly say once I rid myself of this money pit I call my car (which is hopefully very soon). I will never buy another BMW and will share my experience with other perspective BMW buyers.

IM lucky to be alive. What first began as a smell of fuel inside the car escalated to a strong smell of gas. After looking at the undercarriage of the vehicle, I discovered fuel leaking down the drivers side gas tank inches away from the hot exhaust. Tracking where the leak was coming from, I removed the passenger rear seat and discovered that the fuel pump plastic housing developed cracks all around, causing the fuel to escape below the passenger seat down the gas tank. The vehicle operates fine and there are no dash lights indicating that there are any failures of fuel. However, it seems the fuel has broken down the plastic housing of the fuel pump over time, resulting in an enormous loss of fuel when the vehicle is running. I am very glad I discovered this issue, which I believe is an enormous safety issue and consider myself lucky that I didnt catch on fire on my last drive. I will follow-up with BMWs hotline because I am certain there are other drivers that own the E90 series that may be having the same issue and hope NHTSA can put this on their bulletin and open an investigation on the serious issue. As far as BMW Coggin in Fort Pierce, FL, Richard ** politely kicked me out and told me he had an appointment with a doctor and did not even hear my issue out.

First, Id like to say that this Driving Experience has been the worst experience on my end. This letter is to notify you BMWNA as the manufacturer that my vehicle is once again at Fort Lauderdale BMW for the fourth time, and I will allow one more repair before my attorneys proceed with the Lemon Law of Florida State. I will also like to ask if anyone at BMWNA has any kind of consideration to at least prorate my monthly charge because of my reoccurring issues with my car. I believe thats just right being that I have to waste money, time and mostly time in traffic and off work because of this issue. Im a very unhappy customer and I will say this now and forever, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BMW! And everyone that I get a chance or would like to get to hear my horrible experience with BMW I will be glad to tell them of my long stressful/humiliated days. My time with BMW has been enjoying all the loaners that I have acquired since my time with BMW. I really dont know, but BMWNA keeps telling me that they have traded me out of the car twice already so they cant help me in anyway but I dont think its right for me to pay close to $1700 monthly for my car to be in the repair shop constantly. The information in red is of the lady that communicated with me that BMW OF NA cannot help me anymore, when I was having my issues with 2013 328i that the alignment was bad and BMW of Coconut Creek could not fix it. I ask for BMWNA to allow me to trade out of it because of on going issues and Margaret ** I guess said OK but its not like they give me money the first and I still carry the negative equity. Then I got into a Certified New 2011 M3 which had issues from the start. You check all service records on that 2011 M3. They changed parts and I would say out of the 9 months I was on the contract, it was in the shop 4 months. The vehicle had a stalling issue that could not be duplicated but yet parts were changed within the 3 service centers I visited. Coconut Creek BMW, Pompano Beach BMW, and Braman Bmw of Palm Beach. I got loaners so frequently that my phone would automatically sync to the Bluetooth system. Because of my numerous times at service and Margaret ** Certifying that the car would work as intended, it happened again. She first gave $1500 and the trade of my car for a certified used or new car. I said that wasnt enough because at the dealerships I went to they said the bank couldnt allow me to get in to a less expensive car so they then gave me $3500 which I thought was still a low amount being that the BMW stores could not help much so now I have a HIGHER PAYMENT WITH A CAR NOT OF MY CHOICE BUT AN EXECUTIVE DEMO, that the BMW Bank allowed me to get into because of my negative equity on the M3. But I never wanted to get rid of M3, the car was in the shop month after month and I just wouldve thought that since I was going through this issues they would have some sort of consideration and put me into the same car for the same price and not a $100,000 car not of my choice. I just want to say that when I do get the chance to leave BMW of North America I will leave running and never look back!!!BMW of North America has no consideration for your customers. I mean Im not lying of the repairs because they have my service records. I have my service records on this new 650 xDrive. This has been the worst experience and can guarantee you that I will never encourage anyone to buy a BMW and will never get myself into this mess again. Thanks but no thanks.

I recently purchased 2012 BMW 5 series. It was 51k miles on it and this car had a very good maintenance record. I was thinking thats a very good deal to get a low mileage, well maintained and reliable car. But as for now it appears to be the worst purchase I ever made in my life. I drove it for few month (now it has 57k miles) and got transmission fail for no reason, BMW service asking for $6500 for repairs. How it could happens on that ridiculous mileage? I drove many other brands and some of them was well over 100k miles on it, and were just changing oil. So Ill probably fix it and sell right away accepting loss, I totally lost my confidence in BMW, thats garbage. Dont want to wait until engine will fail in next few thousand miles. BMW Goodwill only works for valued customers who already spend fortune for them. My point is that BMW cars is a total junk! Only can drive it within the warranty period when they will have to take care of their junk. Thanks.

I purchased a 2006 BMW 750li from the dealership on 10/14/2011. After purchasing the vehicle, I realized that the front end right side headlight was not aligned properly. I immediately called back to the dealer salesman Rich ** and informed him of my findings. He said that the dealership was closing, and to take pictures and send to him what I had noticed. I sent him pictures and informed him that I would contact the dealership in the morning which was10/15/2011. I called the dealership in the morning as I said, I would and spoke to Rich **. He proceeded to send me pictures of another vehicle with the same situation. He instructed me to take the vehicle to my local BMW dealership and have it inspected. On Monday 10/17/2011, I took the vehicle to Dryer Reinbold BMW in Indianapolis, Indiana for an inspection. After getting the vehicle back and talking with the Service Manager, I was told that I should take the vehicle to BMW Collision Center for further evaluation. I called and made an appointment for Friday10/28/2011. I had taken the vehicle in for an inspection, and was told by the Technician that the vehicle had previously been involved in an accident of some sort, which was causing the misalignment. I immediately contacted the Laurel BMW dealership to speak with the Used Car Service Manager Guy **, but he was not available. I proceeded to leave a message on his voicemail regarding the situation. I continued to try and reach someone, who could help me with this matter. I was instructed to call the General Manager Patrick ** and leave him a message.I proceeded to fax over the estimates that were given to me by the BMW Collision Center. On Saturday 10/29/2011, I called Guy ** to see what could be done, but was not able to communicate with him because of his attitude so I called Patrick **. I ultimately could not reach him so I left several messages on his voicemail. I finally decided to email Patrick some pictures of the vehicle from 10/14/2011. Patrick responded to my email, and we conversed via email regarding the matter. Patrick finally emailed asking me to give him til Monday because he was too busy to further address this matter regarding the vehicle.

I bought a certified pre-owned 2007 X3 in 2009, which luckily means I have a warranty till 2013. When I bought it in May 2009, it had the service engine light on and dealer tells me its due service and will do it the week after. Ever since, the light keeps coming up every 2 months, and the dealer takes a week to do something. Then he tells me that they do whatever BMW tells them to do and gives it back saying that the problem has been resolved. So far, I have had at least ten such trips. The last two trips are taking much longer. The last trip took 19 days about month and half ago. I went in again on Nov 28th and it is still being looked at. The dealer has provided me a loaner car so I dont have a major hassle as a result. But it is amazing that this supposedly superior engineering company cannot figure out after so many tries why the stupid light comes on. Can any one really trust their advanced systems like iDrive and so on to actually work? Is BMW more of a superior marketing engine as opposed to a superior engineering company? The evidence suggests that they are definitely a superior marketing company.

At the end of the day dealer called me saying they could not find any trouble with the car and they compare the noise with brand new 2014 BMW X3 and the noise is normal. Took the car back home and after week the ticking noise is still constant and now I can hear it on the upper first floor window of my home. What a disappointment!! I will take back to dealer as I did research on internet and found that this kind of trouble lot of other people have also. I have 2012 Honda CRV and it still runs very silky smooth and cost half of this BMW X3. If BMW dealer cannot fix it, I will fight till they buy back it from me as this is nothing but a lemon. No more BMW in my car shopping ever!!

I bought this in April 2008 with 18,000 on it, as a 40 mile each way commuter, and with the Corbin seat and BMW bags already on it. I love it right from the start. It has massive torque, gobs of acceleration and is fast enough for me (I haven't had it flat out, but I've had an indicated 120 mph out of it without trying hard). I found it a little too buzzy for comfort around 4500 rpm. The Manic Salamander bar end weights (18.5 ounces instead of the stock 9.5 ounces) completely cured that. I found it very windy over 70 mph; Parabellum windshield, adjusted as high as it can go cured that. My other add-ons were for personal preference, not necessity. The bike is as reliable as a stone, comfortable all day, a joy to drive and magic through the twisties. At first I felt like I wasn't getting much feedback from the front suspension, then I realized it just was not having any problems, so there was nothing for it to tell me. It just goes around bends on any surface at any speed I've asked of it without fuss.

BMW has got the american car makers in the dust. The quality of materials used and the construction of the vehicle is far superior. If you look at the American workmanship is it so much inferior to the Germans. We need to upgrade our workforce in order to be competitive with other markets i.e. Germany, Japan.

I bought 2013 BMW 328i xDrive in Sterling, VA. My car has 74k miles on it. This car brand new is about 40k. Total repair cost so far: - At 47k miles - transfer case cover failed. - Cost to repair - $7,500. - At 73k miles - Head display unit, where you see navigation & radio etc, froze and failed. - Cost to repair - $2,200. - At 73k miles - Engine valve cover gasket started leaking oil and the Sterling BMW told me that it is at 8 on a scale of 10 to leak fire and catch fire. - Cost to repair - $1,000. TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS SO FAR - CLOSE TO $11,000 = CLOSE TO 25% OF NEW CAR PURCHASE PRICE.I have in my life never ever seen 25% repair costs in first 75k miles on any car I have driven. Highly disappointed and speechless. Thought this was a high end, high quality German built car. I called Sterling dealer, they said they acknowledge the repair price tag and agree that BMW North America should do something about it. So call BMW North America. They said I should have bought extended warranty - Ha!

Bought myself a new car, very exciting right? WRONG! Not if its a BMW! I bought this car less than 30k miles, 2014. This Friday will be my 3rd time taking it to the shop in less than a month. Its still under warranty, but now Im seeing signs, as I did with my Pontiac Firebird money pit. Feels like something is wrong with the mass air flow, tranny, parking lamp malfunction, now check engine light is on. Whats next??? Idk anyone who is taking their car in every week on their day off. I purchased a used BMW that was purchased as a certified pre-own by the previous owner. The warranty extended through 2019 up to 100k miles. I thought this would be a transferable warranty seeing that it was purchased through BMW. I called in and was transferred to a third party company who had no record of the warranty. I called BMW back to which another person explained that the warranty can no longer be transferred because I did not buy the car directly from the previous owner. There was a third party involved. I offered to pay a transfer fee, have the car reinspected or whatever yet BMW would not transfer the warranty. I was surprised that BMW wouldn’t want to stand by a car that they certified as good based on a transfer of ownership that involved a third party. That seems like bad business to me and way to force a new owner to repurchase the same warranty again. I would suggest others be aware of this clause when purchasing a used BMW.

I have dealt with Victoria BC BMW now for 5 years and am sorry to say that they have lost me as a customer. Forever. Awful, horrible, deplorable service. They simply disregard the clients concerns. Over the past 2 years my vehicle has been in the repair shop to have the following fixed and they simply just say they cant fix the following: a) A car that just stalls out of the blue for no reason. b) Brakes that squeal in reverse. c) Also the brakes needed to be replaced after 10K km!!! Which was not covered by warranty. This is ridiculous and there needs to be a recall on that model - 2018 X1.d) The trunk closes when you are half way inside of it. Very scary. I requested they disengage that automatic setting and they were unable to do it. ???? So I have lived for 2 years in fear of going into the trunk because it would randomly close on me when I was inside of it.BMW VICTORIA- you do not live up to the customer service mission statement of BMW.

Because I have purchased 7 ($500k worth) vehicles from BMW over the past 12 years, I thought that they would work with me in replacing the tires. They told me that it was my problem and that they are not doing anything about it. Do not buy any BMW products at all. It is not a suggestion but it is a warning as you will regret if anything will go wrong. They are only profit oriented company and do not show any sympathy or care about their customers or general public. My brand new X7 was on fire last month without any indication on the dashboard. Me and my entire family (including 2 kids and 2 senior citizens) were in the car when the car started throwing smokes without any indication. I acted on time and stopped the car and we all left the car. While taking out my 4 years daughter from the car seat the car literally went on fire from the engine. It was freezing cold day with a single degree temperature and snowing and we all were standing outside until the fire dept arrived. We we all lucky that we survived without any physical injury but mental trauma was never less after that incident.I called BMW NA and filed a complaint to start an investigation as I also saw an article sent over by my friend from CNN where BMW is being sued in South Korea for the same engine fire issue. They acted so negligently that on the scheduled inspection day the public relation officer called me and told me that they didnt get an access of a car from insurance company as it was not communicated with them...Seriously? This shows how lightly they took the entire incident. In the end they wanted to offer me 2 month of lease payment and wanted me to buy or lease new BMW and sign a contingency not to disclose this information to NHSTA or any other places including social media. I declined their charity and chose to go out in public to educate them not to go for BMW brand. It is a known issue of BMW that their cars go on fire lot more frequently than any other manufacturers.DO NOT BUY BMW...THEY ARE VERY PATHETIC IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AS WELL AS PUBLIC SAFETY. SPREAD THESE WORDS OUT TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE AS I CANT SUE THEM AS NY STATE LAW DOES NOT HOLD THEM RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE NO PERSON WAS INJURED PHYSICALLY. IF YOU NEED ANY OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT HOW BMW IS BEING SUED THEN GOOGLE HOW THEYRE BEING SUED IN SOUTH KOREA AND IT WILL SHOW UP...

I only can come out a reason is they have alignment flaw. By the end of lease, we sent the car to the Ontario dealer for pre-inspection. Estimated end lease cost was $950 on Feb 9. Returned car 10 days later, the final inspection at same dealer came out the end lease cost to $1401.20 ($51.20 is overmileage charge, $400 Exterior Wear). We were disagree the new cost and agree to let BMW Financial Services to do the final appraisal. Today we have received invoice for total $2563.30 (Extra charge: $400 Excessively Worn Tires or mismatched Tires and $1000 Exterior Excess Wear). From GM to used car manager have been unable to get an honest answer when looking at a used M5 with 14k. Checking the carfax car was sold as a CPO elite. First I called the dealership to confirm with service. When a service advisor answered she told me when I gave her the VIN # that this car was NOT in their system. Not in their system, it is on their lot!! Then was told when asked the salesperson that the car was NOT CPO. I decided to call an independent BMW service tech. BMW warranty info is nationwide. He was extremely helpful once I have him the last 7 numbers. He told me it is a CPO car and goes with the car, just purchased less than 4 months ago. After reading all the negative reviews of BMW customer service think I might pass on buying my first BMW. Especially since my local BMW dealership does not seem to know what they have on their lot.

I purchased a BMW 550i new from the dealer ($75K). I was sold a maintenance warranty on the understanding that it covered the cost of replacing the brakes at 80K miles. When it reached the 80K I was told that the brakes still had too much life on them to replace and since the 5-year warranty was expiring, they would not replace the brakes. Theres some small print that was not clear that allows them to do this. DONT BUY THE EXTENDED SERVICE WARRANTY if you decide to purchase a BMW. Its a total rip off. Unless you drive very aggressively, you will basically overpay for for oil changes and windshield wipers. Read on about whether you should buy a BMW.While I liked the car, it has had an endless set of repairs. This was fine while it was under warranty but a money drain once it was off warranty. I was extremely disappointed and furious with the service the guys at BMW of Dallas provided. This is not something you expect from a luxury car dealership. It was utterly unprofessional and zero consideration for a customer’s inconvenience and situation. My car was towed in Monday morning at 10am from work and I was being handled by a service adviser Andrew ** reporting to service manager Ricardo **. He was probably the worst guy in terms of communication. I don’t expect them to keep me updated on my cars status every few minutes but at least 1 phone call/email or text in this day and age to let me know an ETA so I could plan my ride back home from work. I usually take my car to another BMW dealership in Plano, TX Classic BMW and they are very professional. Being a BMW dealership, I expected a similar professionalism and style of communicating with their customers.I finally get a call from Andrew (this was after my multiple calls, voicemails to find out if the car had made it to the shop or not since I didn’t ride along with the tow truck) to let me know at around noon that they had received the car and will let me know what the charges maybe before they work on it. Again, no update until 4:15pm and that was again after me following up multiple times trying to find out an ETA so I could plan on my ride back home and pick up kids from after school care. I talk to him and he said he was unable to replicate the issue and thus they couldn’t fix the issue. My bill was about $300 for diagnostic fees. At that point I was furious as after all that lack of communication, he had the temperament to let me know that there was an outstanding bill.I let him know that I was very disappointed and upset with his way of communication and all he had to say was they were extremely busy and I was not their only customer. This was the last thing I expected to hear from a luxury dealership like BMW. I asked him I wanted to talk to his manager, Ricardo ** who was obviously not available to talk to me that time. Ricardo (also goes by Ricky) calls me at 7pm Monday evening to apologize and say that he expects his staff to at least communicate with their customers and let them know what the status may be. I told him I would be over tomorrow (Tuesday) to pick up the car.Tuesday a.m. (day 2) when I called them to notify that I was going to need a shuttle pick up from my work (which is about 8 mi. 15 min drive), Carlos at their shuttle desk told me he would have someone at 3pm to pick me up. I wrapped up my meeting and was waiting outside for my ride. I call them at 3:20 p.m. to check on the status and talk to Carlos after multiple transfers on their phone and long holds, he tells me that the shuttle is picking up other customers and will come get me in next 10-15 mins. At that point, it would have been 3:45 p.m. I finally get tired of waiting and get a ride to the dealership. We reach there at about 4:15 and I called Carlos again to check on the shuttle status out of curiosity and he tells me the guy should be there in another 15 mins?? At that time, it would have been maybe 4:30 p.m. or more. There was no apology or remorse from Carlos either at that point. So basically they didn’t care or feel bad keeping their customers stranded for over 1.5 hours. Again no communication whatsoever to let me know what the status of the shuttle was or any type of intention to remediate the problem. I met Ricardo finally in person and told him how upset I was. He said he had talked to Andrew about his lack of communication but I really doubt if he had taken any action. It is Wednesday afternoon and I yet have not heard anything back from Andrew ** in terms of any voicemail or emails? When I left, I had a letter attached to my receipt that asked to provide a customer feedback from their client experience manager Erika **. I left her a detailed voice message yesterday about my experience on my way back home, but another example where the manager has not gotten back to me at all.I feel the issue seems to be with the team there where they don’t think their customers need to be treated with utmost priority and professionalism. Especially when there has been so much of an inconvenience and hassle for someone, there was no effort on their part to get back and try to make amends. This was one of the worst experience having to deal with a dealership in terms of communication and way they treat their customers. VERY DISAPPOINTED. NOT RECOMMENDING TO ANYONE IN THE FUTURE TO USE THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT.

I purchased a 2013 X5 on 5/22/13 and it has been in the car shop over 2.5 months. I am beyond frustrated in dealing with the dealership and BMW North America. This is the 3rd time in the shop for the module issue, BMW has switched out the module twice, and has rewired it twice but they still do now know what is causing the issue. They have had expert technicians that came out and conference Germany but no one knows why it sometimes work and sometimes doesnt work. All I am asking for is for BMW to give me a fair trade for the car but they are not willing to so. The reason being that this is not a safety issue. I just bought my 2007 BMW 325ci about a week ago. I bought it 250 miles away from where I live. I was assured that it had all been inspected by BMW in Tri-Cities, WA and that it was in perfect shape. I bought a 2009 BMW X5 4.8i V8 from my son-in-law who bought it new. The car had 37,000 miles on it when I bought it and now has 87,000 miles. Half of the mileage has been on 1000 mile trips. The car has been well maintained with all recommended services throughout the period. My wife and I are over 70 and do not drive the car aggressively. Here is my repair experience with this car. All but the first occurred after the 50,000 mile warranty expired: Air conditioner hose connection leaked refrigerant -- replaced hose. Headlight washer nozzle dropped off -- replaced nozzle. Plastic water overflow tank seam separated -- replaced tank. Vacuum pump leaked -- replaced vacuum pump. Oil leaked through several front engine seals and valve covers -- replaced seals. Burnt oil of 1 quart per thousand miles, through valve seals -- replaced valve seals. Vacuum leak through fuel pump activating engine/emission light -- replaced fuel pump. Total cost for these repairs was around $15,000 over 3 years. All of the repairs were done at BMW dealerships. (This, of course, was over and above normal maintenance like oil changes, adding oil, alignments, tires, brake pads, inspections, etc.) Fortunately, I had third party extended warranty coverage. The dealership mechanics told me these problems are common with BMW V8 engines. There are several reports on the web of these same problems. While BMW touts their engineering, they obviously dont engineer seals that lasts 100,000 miles. If you are considering a used BMW V8, count on $3,000 to $5,000 in repairs a year plus typical maintenance. By the way, I generally keep a car for 200,000 miles or more. The BMW is the priciest car I have owned. It also has had more repairs up to now than any of my other cars throughout their 200,000 mile life history. The car is a nice car to drive. However, given my experience, I cannot recommend a BMW. The problems I experienced had nothing to do with the the sophistication of the design. They were all basic part failures!

I bought their product and have had a very big problem with the jack lift that they provided me with to change the tires on the car. This jack is very insufficient, the reason being that when I jacked up the car to change a tire on it, the jack collapsed and let the car fall without the tire on the axle. This has happened twice already one time the jack collapsed and the car smashed my wrist and severely hurt it. Furthermore, since the jack collapsed, it wedged beneath the car and scratched up the bottom of the vehicle. I feel that this is very unacceptable since BMW is supposed to be a quality car. I hope the company gives this complaint notice and strives to improve the quality of the jack that is provided with the car. I can no longer use the jack they have provided me with because I do not want to risk further damage to both myself and my vehicle. I hope you consider sending me a new one. Thank you very much for your time.

I purchased a new 2007 BMW 116i 5-door in June 2009. I am a good BMW owner with regular service, etc. I had no problems until March 2013. The oil light came on, smoke was coming out of the tail pipe upon turning car on, and the car also idles funny (jugging). The service technicians and manager have given many reasons. The car only has 34,000 km driven for just under 4 years. To date, the car is still giving me problems. The local BMW SAID they contacted BMW Corporation for goodwill and help, but to no avail... the car problems still persist. I just had regular car service. I do not drive the car so as not to aggravate the problem. I felt that I was spending $$$ for quality and good name. What do I do now??? Not sure! Are there any other BMW owners having this or similar problems? Any suggestions on what to do???

Ordered a custom built leased 328i Luxury Line. After a few months of ownership, I noticed that the wood trim on the right rear door had a crack in it. Although it was minor, it could be felt and didnt want BMW to charge me when I turn in my lease. Went to South Motors BMW to tell them about the problem. The first service guy was an idiot who said that I should have bring up the problem earlier and that it was too late. Upset with this, I emailed BMW of NA included VIN, name, photos, and description.Within a week, I got a call from my the person who sold me that car saying that he was so sorry and to bring in the car for another look. I went back and was met by my salesman and service manager. He took photos and ordered the new part which they installed a week later. Apart from the first idiot service guy. I want to thank both BMW of NA, my salesman and the service manager for resolving this problem in a quick and responsible matter. On my 4th BMW and very satisfied. Car has been flawless since.

BMW 750i xdrive run flat tires and wheels - I have lost 5 new front pirelli run flat tires within the 6 month. In addition one of my wheel cracked and I had to replace it as well. Evidently BMW command center that pushing these run flat tires dont care about their customers. These run flat tires might be good for European autobahns but not for road conditions in East Coast. I have changed the plans of purchasing BMW for my son. No anymore BMW. I have replaced the tires to non run flat. In addition to it BMW claims that run flat can run another 50 miles after damaged is not simply true - it barely runs 10 miles max before start damaging the rim. In addition BMW emergency service does not deliver anything emergency except being polite on the phone. I will be selling out my BMW as soon as I can get rid of it. I have a BMW X5 (2012) which I purchased new, it had an AC problem however that wont be fixed by BMW. Here is my story on the X5. After warranty is done at 50K miles this is where all the troubles start. Thermostat failure a 2500$ repair, Burnt Oil smell, fluid leak repair $2500 in 2016 by a BMW Repair service. Took it to the dealer to see if it would resolve and he replaced the same Oil Gasket leak at East Bay BMW in Pleasanton, CA for roughly $2500 in Aug 2017. Now I take it back to the dealer and ask him about the 2 year warranty and he says it is a different issue and I need to spend another $1500 to get this fixed. There is no end to the excuses for bad repairs but I wanted to call out that my experience with BMW and their repair technicians is so poor that they refuse to accept responsibility or address the issue.

Hi my name is Kizy **. I am a newlywed and also have a baby on the way. My problem is I bought a BMW 2011 X6 that was under warranty when I purchased it for my wife in 2013. it had a 3 year warranty or 50,000 miles on the car. My problem started on August 18 2014 when the car overheated. I took it to the BMW store in Rochester, Michigan. I was told that the coolant to the turbo needed to be replaced which was fine and I picked up my car two weeks later. On September 2, 2014, I picked up my vehicle and drove it to Costco but as I was leaving Costco, I noticed that my car left a puddle of antifreeze underneath my car, so I ended up having my car towed to the dealer again. They then said they found two leaks in the car and the tank was leaking. They said they repaired the cap. My car was in the shop for over two weeks then I had to have it towed again and it stayed there for another five days!A couple days later, my low coolant light came on so I called the dealer and spoke with the service rep, **. He told me it could be a bubble in the system from when they flushed it out. They handed me a quart of coolant and told me to put it in my car and if the light goes back on, to give them a call because they were busy. So I added a quart of coolant and then a couple days later, my light went back on and because it was a Friday they could not get me in that day so they gave me two more quarts to add to my car. I did not think anything of it so I did as he instructed and added 1 quart more so light would turn off.I went to the movies with my wife and her eyes started itching and we both started to feel sick and nauseous. I was getting upset that my pregnant wife and my future baby were in danger for inhaling coolant! The next day, I called BMW North America and spoke to a lady named Betsy. She advised me to take my car back to the dealer that day and I did. I explained to BMW North America my concerns and how important it is for me to make sure my pregnant wife is safe and healthy!! I explained to everyone at the dealership all my concerns regarding my car and my familys health. On October 24, 2014, I brought my vehicle in for service because of the coolant scent in my vehicle and my car had been burning a quart of oil almost every week. BMW Rochester found that the coolant/antifreeze return lines to the turbo were leaking into the engine and the car was returned to me on November 03, 2014. On November 05, 2014, my wife and I were out and she noticed the scent and told me they did not fix my vehicle because she could still smell it and her eyes were burning again. Her senses and her smell were stronger than mine because she was pregnant. So I called BMW North America and the dealership to explain to them whats going on. I brought my car back into the dealership for this same issue now being the fifth time and I had service reps **, and the head mechanical get into my car so they could smell the coolant I have been trying to get them to fix and also told them how my car had been losing its oil. On November 06, 2014, I brought my car back into the dealership and the head service rep, **, told me coolant was coming in because the bottom pan wasnt treated properly and he was going to make sure that his top serviceman was going to treat it this time. At this time, I was angry and I felt that BMW wasnt taking my case seriously and using my pregnant wife and I as test dummies. They would fix the one problem but not all of them and if it didnt work, they would keep telling me to come back in. I just dont feel like the dealership or BMW cared about our health or safety and they used us as test dummies. On December 12, my reduced power came on and my low coolant came on. I called BMW of Rochester. They told me not to bring my vehicle back into the dealership and refused services and told me to go to Erhard of BMW at 4065 Maple Road Bloomfield Hills to fix my problem. I was really upset that I had to drive an hour and some time to go to the dealer to have my problem fixed! The service guy ** at Erhard told me on December 19, 2014, that there was a coolant leak again coming in my Vehicle from the bottom of my turbo line and the computer needed to be reprogrammed. He also said I needed the spark plugs and intake replaced. I still havent gotten my car back. My biggest concerns are my familys health and safety. Im also concerned of the internal damage and the value of my vehicle depreciating. Im at a loss for words with BMW and the dealership and dont understand why I kept getting the runaround and still do not have my vehicle correctly repaired! The distress this has caused my wife and I has been unnecessary!

I purchased a used 2009 BMW X5 with 9,000 miles two months ago from Coggin BMW in Fort Pierce, FL. Within a few weeks, there was a very strong fuel smell in and around the vehicle. Upon calling the dealership for the 3rd time, we were able to get an appointment 4 days later to have the vehicle looked at. The issue was a fuel leak around the fuel pump flange and melted plastic around the fuel pump electrical wire. This is a very dangerous situation that could have resulted in deadly consequences.I am very disappointed by the lack of urgency on the part of Coggin BMW to resolve this dangerous situation. Most of all, I am appalled at the fact that BMW North America would produce and sell a vehicle that would have this life threatening issue by 9,000 miles. I find it very disturbing that the issue is brushed aside unless there is a fire or catastrophic explosion due to the negligent manner in which BMW made this vehicle. I believe that I am not the only one who expects a company of BMWs stature to be free from serious problems like this, especially with a fairly new automobile. The dealership fixed the fuel leak and melted electrical wire issue but I am not confident that I am safe in this vehicle. I was not told why this problem happened and not sure if and when I will have another serious malfunction that could result in serious consequences. I do not feel safe in the vehicle and I have no confidence that BMW can provide a reliable, safe product. I also dont have confidence in the dealer network to provide a reliable and safe vehicle for me to drive.

Bought this 2010 BMW X5 35d brand new from a dealership in Colorado. Its spent more time in dealership shops than in the garage. Check engine lights, battery drain problems, electrical problems... on and on and on. The worst car Ive ever owned and at a most ridiculous price. Many times the check engine light or battery drain light (or whatever) comes back on or recurs within a day or within a week. Back to the shop we go... only to be told they cant find it or replicate it. Great. I go home, it starts again. Its beyond ridiculous. As soon as I pick it up from the shop this time (its getting the THIRD battery now), Im selling it. Ill never own another one again. EVER. Dont waste your money. Both BMW of Dallas and Classic BMW of Plano have horrible service centers. Most recently, my service adviser, Richard ** insisted I missed my appointment day because the online appointment scheduler didnt catch the update I sent him, even though I was sent an email reminder for the day I showed up. ** left me a message on estimates but never answered or returned a call to confirm authorized work. I left a message with the service manager, who never called back either. I never saw him while paying the invoice and only while driving home and the left signal stop working did I realize they disassembled the tail light power supply.Last month, I made an appointment over the phone to have the door handle fixed at Classic BMW of Plano. When I arrived that afternoon for the arranged appointment where I described the issue, they said they wouldnt even look at it until the next day, if I leave it overnight. I left and called for the service manager. He/She never called me back. I talked with someone at the BMW USA toll free customer service center. They never followed up.Last year, I had a bad experience with BMW of Dallas and ** when I explained the passenger window was rattling, ** kept the vehicle the whole day and call me later to explain the rattling was music CDs in the door pocket. I took my husband back with me who demonstrated the rattling noise without the music CDs in the door pocket. We had to bring the vehicle back another day for repairs. Back in 2007, I wanted to purchase a vehicle from BMW of Dallas and they wouldnt let me test drive the vehicle. Because of this, I shop and purchase my vehicles from Autobahn BMW in Fort Worth.I love driving the ultimate machine. I have never complained about the expensive cost of maintenance even though reliability is awful for such a high priced vehicle. My biggest complaint is the service I receive at the Dallas area dealerships. And because service is so poor, it is time for me to admit to my friends and family BMW is a poor option and consider another make of vehicle.

I lease a 2014 528i and I am about to return the car at the end of the Nov 2016. I have leased Lexus, Mercedes, Audi, Volvo and Toyota and I have never had such a ridiculously high inspection report/quote. They charged me for 3 tires @ $300 ea! (I have 34k miles on the car) and they charged me another $1200 dollars for absolutely normal small MINUTE DINGS on the bumpers. That is outrageous! I called customer service and everyone has a very pompous and entitled attitude. Theyre very rude! One supervisor finally removed 1 tire charge and 1 ding charge of $300 but still leaving me with an abusive $900 charge for a couple of very small dings that you can barely see.I called customer service a second time and the woman I spoke with was rude, short and useless! Not to mention that after driving the car for 2 years it started shaking and rattling when idled at a traffic light. These cars are not built well at all. They are the ultimate driving machine indeed. They will ultimately drive you broken, frustrated and unsatisfied. I was actually considering leasing an X6 but now I WILL NEVER LEASE OR BUY ANOTHER BMW AGAIN.

My 2006 330xi has been a great car. My warranty expired after four years. During the four years of covered issues including replacement of tires twice (very loud run flats) and replacement of chrome around the windows that oxidized, I was still a happy owner. I noticed that the rubber strip that meets my windshield and the top of my car was flaking off of the car. I called my dealer, BMW Devon Hill. First, I was insulted on the telephone when the service technician asked me if my car was outdoors. Then, I brought the car in and he looked at the problem and showed it to the manager, and when I returned, I was told that I was out of warranty. He was kind enough to give me an 800 number to call. Why he didnt go any further to help me is the first complaint I have.I spoke to a very nice girl over a period of 10 days who also told me that I was out of warranty and basically told me to have a nice day. I wrote a letter to BMW. Someone called. That was a miracle. He asked me a few questions, called back, and had the same final decision. My complaint is the rubber probably cost about $5, if that and the labor might be 10 to 15 minutes. This automobile, ultimate driving machine cost me $42,000, and once I went out of warranty, it was, Goodbye. Youre out of warranty. I couldnt be more disappointed. I would never buy another BMW for something as small as this problem. I was insulted and basically dismissed by everyone. I think this is terrible public relations, customer service, call it whatever you want.

On 08th of September I collected brand new BMW X1 (my dream car), sDrive16d SE N47 2.0, GU64EVC from your dealership. The car is defective and the faults are: 1. Very stiff reverse gear (due to this now I am suffering from a tennis elbow on my left hand). 2. The In car sat nav system which cost me 890.00 (low volume mainly when driving in motorways & giving wrong directions). My TomTom sat nav, which I bought for 200.00 is about 5 years old and have much more features and options than the pricy in car sat nav (if I have known this I would not buy it). 3. The driver seat is too low & most uncomfortable car I have ever driven in my whole life. Every time I take a long drive I end up having severe back pains. (I am at a point that I can’t risk my health). I have to say, I am very disappointed & have lost my trust in BMW due to the entire experience. I have been told by service department that they cant find any fault with the car and they are not going to help me. Few more issues I would like to make you aware of the car, these glitches don’t occur continuously however do happen and truly frustrating: The radio/music stop functioning unexpectedly, Unable to use the Bluetooth, Sat nav disappear from the screen, Tire pressure warning light keep on appearing. It seem as I have to check the tire pressure every two weeks. How inconvenient is this.

I have truly enjoyed the 2014 BMW convertible. It is just fun to drive. I often get told how nice it is. The take off is fast and the controls on the wheel make it less distracting to answer phone or navigate the radio. The overall look is very attractive. I am very short and the seats fit me perfectly. They allow a large range of positions so it also helps my pain from a cancer removal. By the way, the truck release on the key remote drives me nuts. Its like it has a combination of buttons to hit. The car also has a very small trunk so I am not able to purchase larger items.

Its a 2011 BMW 535i. When I turned on the front defroster the fan was making an abnormal loud noise. Took it to the dealer and they checked that out and said leaves went inside the fan motor and they had to replace the fan motor. My question to BMW again how did the leaves went inside the fan motor to begin with? Do not they have proper system in place where the leaves should not be even allowed to go inside. I saw this happen to way older cars. I drove Japanese cars which were way older models than these, never ever had any issues like these. Please do yourself a favor stay away from B** unless you love to keep throwing your hard earned money and get stressed out all the time, and will always drive in fear.

I was wondering whether you might be interested in running a story about what to watch out for when leasing a car. I am having a very difficult time with BMW Financial Services organization and have identified at least 4 ways that their owners choice agreement does harm to the customer. I learned a lot and thought it could be of potential interest to your readers. After turning in my i3 at the two year lease end, and making every payment like clockwork, and returning the car in immaculate condition (nothing found wrong by the independent examiner), they are suddenly hounding me to pay them $353 purportedly so they can use that money to sell the car to someone else. What, I said? I leased the car from you, its your responsibility to sell it. I have tried talking to them but they claim that this money clawback fee, is somewhere buried in the fine print of their agreement.Strangely, no matter how many times I spoke with all of the people at the dealership no one ever made me aware of this situation. And the Financial Services Group was irrational when I called them. When I explained that I bought another i3 but I didnt finance it, they wouldnt take off the fee. It would seem that finance group at the dealership needs to tell the customer when we are in there signing pages and pages of documents. But my real wonder here is why BMW management would want to pursue this after the fact, fee extraction extortion strategy.I was told, now after the fact, that had I did another financing with BMW finance they would have waived the fee. However, the reason I didnt buy the i3 I had from the dealer was because I was told that I would have to pay a $2,200 customer loyalty fee over the street value of the car. And I actually have this in writing. Is this a rational thing for a customer to be told? Is that what loyalty means to BMW Finance. Hey you are loyal, so you need to pay $2,200 more for the car? For $350, and what they want it for, I can tell you that they arent earning goodwill and keep customers this way. I have two other tax issues that harmed me that was also part of their program. These were tax related and needlessly abusive policies. Anyway, I dont think I will be leasing another car from BMW Finance.

For a luxury car, this is a piece of crap. We bought a 528i, and 2 years later the thing is nothing but problems. The heater does not blow hot air unless you max the thermostat out. The fan won’t blow air unless you max the fan speed out. The vents fall apart and are not covered under warranty or extended warranty. Took it to the dealer and they said it was all normal and accused us of user error breaking the vents. No one sits in the back seat, but yet the vent broke. Total BS. Will never buy another one of these crappy cars. I have a BMW X5 as well, also crappy piece of junk. They can’t even honor their warranty or roadside service commitments. Total waste of money. Hendrick BMW in Pleasanton California is the dealership that we used and they are substandard. Never been so ignored by any car dealership. Took all day to get an update on a car they had for 3 + days, only to get all the BS answers about why they could not do any of the repairs. Just BS about normal function and blamed us for their ** falling apart.

If I could give less than one star I would - Id like to share my story how Passport BMW located in Camp Springs/ Marlow Heights MD screwed up my fuel pump recall causing the fuel pump to leak gas like a faucet. Ive since contacted BMW NA who has been less than helpful facilitating my effort to have another dealership look at the car. Anybody else out there having issues with BMW, I will never buy another BMW.

I brought my car in for an issue dealing with the airbag light illuminated on my dashboard. After being given an appointment 3 weeks after I asked for one, I was told that it was a seat motor issue and that the car thinks there is a passenger in the seat and will activate even if none is sitting there in an accident. The repair would cost over $1500. I rejected the offer but asked if they could take off the warning light. They said that it was impossible, that only if they repaired it could that happen. As I was waiting for the return of my car, they told me that now my passenger window wouldnt go up (although not even 20 minutes earlier I had raised it). I was told that the part was a window motor and it would cost $180. Since I had no choice, but found it highly coincidental, I agreed. They kept the car, but did give me a loaner, for 3 days. When I went to pick it up, they had charged me for 2 diagnosis, and $250 for the part. When I said I was told it was $180 the gentleman told Thats the price. $250. I paid. When I got in the car magically the airbag warning had disappeared. I then contacted BMW Canada complaint department. Then I received a phone call from the service department asking me about my experience. I told him and he said the manager would call me back that day. He never did. I called back BMW Canada and they said they would have him call me. Again he never did. After a week I called BMW Canada to complain again and they called him and transferred the call to me. I asked the complaint department to stay on the line as I spoke with him. She said she could not but to call her back after my call with him.I spoke with him for about 5 minutes. He was belligerent and kept saying they were not thieves. He would not give me an explanation as to how this could have happened. Since I was getting nowhere with him, I hung up and called back the complaint department again at BMW Canada. The woman had left for the day (16:00hr). I left numerous messages for BMW Canada to call me and finally heard back. They say there is nothing they can do other than when the dealership comes up for review, bring it up. If this is how BMW deals with their clients, I promise you this will be my last BMW.

3 Year Tire & Wheel Contract for BMW X5 - I thought I was purchasing peace of mind. That was what I was told when I bought the warranty. When I ran into a problem, no one was able to help. I was told to replace the tires on my own and get the money back from the contract. Little did I know, they pro-rated the money I paid and then gave the money to the lien holder.

I had actually received a piece of mail that had said my car was a recall. Now as many years as we’ve owned the car never have I ever heard or had been sent a letter of my car being a recall and we’ve been the first owners the only owners and it’s been so many years. My car is a 2001 and they’re just recently telling me about the recall which could’ve killed me and my kids and very harmful very harmful recall. Actually it is. They should’ve notified people a lot sooner because anything could happen whether it’s your fault or not your fault. Then they tell you to come in and that they will take care of it for you but they make it almost impossible for you to bring your car in and at the very end they end up making you pay for something which is supposed to be completely on their end. The customer service was horrible.

Two weeks ago we had great pleasure in taking BMW Arden to the small claims
Two weeks ago we had great pleasure in taking BMW Arden to the small claims court. My daughters 18 month old BMW had a faulty wishbone arm. It should have been repaired under warranty but she had to pay the insurance excess of £395. We had a small win as BMW had to pay it back. I know it wasnt much but at the end of the day it was the principle. Here is how it began: BMW Series 1. On 17 September 2017 my daughter Sam stopped at traffic lights to turn right into the Esso garage. When the lights changed, she moved slowly away, at this point the wishbone arm snapped causing her to catch the car in front. A passing mechanic who has his own garage examined the car and said it had issues. The only marks on her car was a small dent and scratch as the photos show. We sent photos to an online mechanic, he said that slight knock would not have caused the wishbone arm to snap. Her insurance company transported the car to their garage in Ashford. A couple of days later BMW asked Sam if they could take it to BMW Arden to undergo repairs as it was still under warranty. When she collected her car a month later, she was shocked when she had to pay her insurance excess of £395.00, she’d been told it was being repaired under warranty. It is apparent that at no time Ageas the insurance company inspected the vehicle. A letter dated 6th March 2018 states “I have reviewed our Audatex report from Arden Maidstone repairers who have not advised in their comments on the engineers report that the drive shaft snapped due to wear and tear or due to being faulty. Had they seen the car then they would have known it was the wishbone arm and not the driveshaft. They also wouldn’t have had to ask BMW what caused it to snap!We wrote and complained to BMW Arden, BMW Customer Services and the Ombudsman. They all said the insurance company carried out the repair so you have to pay. Her authorized repair company in Ashford did not do the repair, BMW Arden did and then invoiced the insurance company for £4550,09. Our mechanic said the cost should have been no more than £500. A solicitor advised me the onus of responsibility lay with Arden BMW, she said the insurance company was just doing their job.On July 6th, 2018 I wrote a final letter to Gary ** the assistant service manager at BMW Arden, His last email said, “The possible cause of the broken wishbone arm was wear and tear.” At the time my daughter’s car was 18 months old with under 7000 on the clock, so how could it have been wear and tear? We believe it had a faulty wishbone arm from new or it was in an accident when it was delivered to Arden Maidstone.

My 2004 BMW 525 headlights have completely hazed over. I have tried several aftermarket products for headlight lens restoration. This has not worked or even made them marginally clearer. My dealer service person believes that the lenses were made of a lower quality plastic in this time frame compared to newer models. The only repair is to replace the whole headlight assemblies at $2,000 each. The Customer Relations person at BMW USA cheerfully took the complaint and said that nothing would be done. We are on our own. It is always nice to see a company stand behind a poor engineering decision, which is widely known within the company.

I purchased a 2018 BMW X5 in 2017. We bought a brand new vehicle so I wouldn’t have to be having car trouble. I’ve owned the vehicle about 14 months and it has had 2 engine malfunctions within one year. The vehicle just starts shaking and completely shuts off! Both times it happened in the freeway were cars are driving a constant speed of over 55 miles. Luckily I was able to just merge to the side of the freeway without causing an accident. Very bad experience just thinking I could of put my kids in danger since the engine just shuts off out of nowhere. This last time we were stranded in the grapevine where there was no stores or gas station close by just waiting for the tow truck to arrive. Both times my car has been in service for over a week. I am trying to request a replacement for a car that is not faulty or if they can just reimburse me what I’ve paid for and return the vehicle. I am very disappointed. We thought that one of the best car makers were BMW and it has let me down especially for the price.

I owned a 2008 BMW 335i and experienced the same issue that is being recalled on the 2010- 012 models. I now own a CPO 2011 335i and the starting my car sounds as if the car hasnt been cranked in 2 months. While in park the engine is super loud and revs for no apparent reason. The dealerships are nothing but vacuums for money. After having a tire replaced for the 2008 at one dealership, the water pump failed less than 5 feet of the service garage door; but I was told this was normal and could happened. Please note that the car never had any warning signs of overheating or loss of a/c power or anything. This was $1200 to fix. The service manager was smug and uninterested in my concerns. His only offer was to allow me to leave my car on their premises and charge me a fair rate for renting a car. On the same 2008 model, I was driving on the expressway and out of the blue my car loses engine power and goes into safe mode. This was $800 to fix. I contacted BMW customer care and the rep couldve cared less, telling me I was out of warranty and nothing they could do about it. If this automaker cared anything for their customers they would deliver superior products and superior customer service. Unfortunately, this automaker fall short on both.

Started with bald tires (VERY BALD, bands showing) at 7K miles. Going through tires every 7K miles. Engine light issues - they blamed the diesel version of the vehicle. Was in the shop for over a month on and off for that issue. Now the car has 25K miles and both brakes needed replacing, front & back. Trunk lid issues, driving alone and light comes on. Light wont go out and lid wont close. What a disappointment.
