We sent our 2009 BMW 328i for 85000 mile service, at the same time our A/C was not working. BMW West Houston did a full check, and recommended a lot of parts changes, including the evaporator + gaskets, auxiliary belt and tensioner + bolt-belt tensioner, oil filter housing gasket. The total cost was 3000 USD+. Immediately when I took my car back after the service, the car panel shows the Triangle exclamatory mark, according to BMW West Houston shop that this is the software issue, can be reset easily, I can bring the car back to reset.From the last service, 3 weeks later, the driving mileage shows 570 miles, I start to hear a sharp noise, and soon the service engine soon light turned on. I brought the car back to BMW shop, after diagnostic, BMW has quote again 3000+ USD for some other parts to be changed, and told me to reset the software back I need to pay 500 USD to remove that. It is ridiculous after the full service with a lot of recommended parts replacement, just after 3 weeks the car has such a big issue again, especially there were about 10 days we actually didnt use the car in between. I am very disappointed with BMW quality, also very disappointed with the service quality.

Finding parts became a worldwide internet search nightmare, as USA dealers were ZERO assistance. BMW routinely changes part numbers, but apparently leaves no follow-up reference to find the part one seeks. I ended up contacting BMWs CHAIRMAN Harald Kruger with a message that lifted him off his chair. The immediate result from Krugers office was that BMW had found the unobtainable and extinct parts I requested... But at DOUBLE their advertised price. They changed their part number (for the 5th time in one instance), then doubled the price. Was I shafted?? Ill never waste another nickel with BMW and recommend the same to you.

My 2012 BMW X5 was recalled and I took it to BMW of North Scottsdale to have the work done. They had to remove the oil filter or something and apparently did not bleed it properly. I went on a trip and limped into Denver where I took it to Schomp BMW. They had to replace the oil pump ---it must have burned out due to air in the line. NOW apparently due to the oil pump going out the ENGINE has major problems and the cheapest way to fix it is replace the engine. There is a rocker arm problem with some of this years but mine is not in the VIN # for that problem so is likely a rod.

Not clear about durability as I have the car only one year, but maneuvering, acceleration, safety mechanisms, etc., are excellent. 228i is a relatively small coupe with rapid acceleration (0 to 60 in seconds), great maneuverability (takes corners sharply and with stability), good safety mechanisms (rear view camera, alarms/reminders for seat belts, emergency brake, parking, etc.). Windows provide good visibility all around though I wish there was a rear window wiper. Has driver & front passenger heater seats, automatic air conditioning and seat settings that driver adjusts to his/her comfort level, etc. Trunk is a good size. Back seat is a bit small if youre tall, otherwise comfortable. Could use a bit more storage space (console, glove compartment and very small compartment next to driver door to lock up keys for glove compartment if valet parked). Remote keyless access. Great car/value for the money. Good support service from BMW.

I had requested some assistance from Mini USA and was denied only because it is a little bit out of warranty. After listening to an interview on Whiteroof radio, its obvious there are known problems with the engines from a few years ago that have been fixed but that does us absolutely no good. The dealer where we took it cant even give a good reason (oil level was fine) why this would happen. It is still there after 3 weeks waiting to see if they can get us more than the $4,500 that was originally offered to us. There is no way we can or will pay the $9,000 they quoted to put in a rebuilt engine. Needless to say, we are very upset since until recently we had 3 minis in the family. Why would such a large company choose to not at least to partially assist such a loyal customer. All this after we spent over $2,500 just a few months ago to fix suspension problems. She wanted the BMW Countryman next but well see how this plays out and we may never buy any BMW or Mini products ever again as well as telling everyone that will listen.

He proceeded to send me pictures of another vehicle with the same situation. He instructed me to take the vehicle to my local BMW dealership and have it inspected. On Monday 10/17/2011, I took the vehicle to Dryer Reinbold BMW in Indianapolis, Indiana for an inspection. After getting the vehicle back and talking with the Service Manager, I was told that I should take the vehicle to BMW Collision Center for further evaluation. I called and made an appointment for Friday10/28/2011. I had taken the vehicle in for an inspection, and was told by the Technician that the vehicle had previously been involved in an accident of some sort,which was causing the misalignment. I immediately contacted the Laurel BMW dealership to speak with the Used Car Service Manager Guy **, but he was not available. I proceeded to leave a message on his voicemail regarding the situation. I continued to try and reach someone, who could help me with this matter. I was instructed to call the General Manager Patrick ** and leave him a message.I proceeded to fax over the estimates that were given to me by the BMW Collision Center. On Saturday 10/29/2011, I called Guy ** to see what could be done, but was not able to communicate with him because of his attitude so I called Patrick **. I ultimately could not reach him so I left several messages on his voicemail. I finally decided to email Patrick some pictures of the vehicle from 10/14/2011. Patrick responded to my email, and we conversed via email regarding the matter. Patrick finally emailed asking me to give him til Monday because he was too busy to further address this matter regarding the vehicle.

First, it got overheated and smoke started coming out of engine without a prior warning, after driving to Long Beach, California, just 45 miles with my family. I had to change all the plans and have it towed to my mechanic. It ended up costing me nearly $2,600 worth of repair work before getting the car back. A month or so later my transmission started slipping. This cost me another $3,100. 6 months later, I took it in to have it checked for serious oil and coolant leak problems. They had to change the valve cover gasket, coolant sensor and some coolant hoses, costing me another $3,600. Now Im having a serious smoking (out of tail pipe) problem, which will not make it pass the smog test. I got an estimate of $3,600 to fix that problem. Additionally, I have all kinds of flashing warning lights on the dash board. I hate to admit, if I want to go somewhere without having to worry about breaking down on the way, I wouldnt dare take my luxury BMW 745 Li, but rather my back up pick up truck Nissan Frontier. They are only profit oriented company and do not show any sympathy or care about their customers or general public. My brand new X7 was on fire last month without any indication on the dashboard. Me and my entire family (including 2 kids and 2 senior citizens) were in the car when the car started throwing smokes without any indication. I acted on time and stopped the car and we all left the car. While taking out my 4 years daughter from the car seat the car literally went on fire from the engine. It was freezing cold day with a single degree temperature and snowing and we all were standing outside until the fire dept arrived. We we all lucky that we survived without any physical injury but mental trauma was never less after that incident.I called BMW NA and filed a complaint to start an investigation as I also saw an article sent over by my friend from CNN where BMW is being sued in South Korea for the same engine fire issue. They acted so negligently that on the scheduled inspection day the public relation officer called me and told me that they didnt get an access of a car from insurance company as it was not communicated with them...Seriously? This shows how lightly they took the entire incident. In the end they wanted to offer me 2 month of lease payment and wanted me to buy or lease new BMW and sign a contingency not to disclose this information to NHSTA or any other places including social media. I declined their charity and chose to go out in public to educate them not to go for BMW brand. It is a known issue of BMW that their cars go on fire lot more frequently than any other manufacturers.DO NOT BUY BMW...THEY ARE VERY PATHETIC IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AS WELL AS PUBLIC SAFETY. I purchased a 2011 BMW 128i convertible with 30k miles in April 2014 and immediately discovered that when the heater was on very high or high for a period the radio will shut down and refuse to work. After an attempt (not knowing what that attempt was) to fix this car the dealer and BMW complaint division refuses to fix it or admit to a design FLAW. Has anyone else experienced this problem. My ADVICE to anyone thinking of buying a BMW convertible - check this out closely or shy away. They will not attempt to fix it nor admit it is a Design FLAW. It is REALLY inconvenient to drive in the cooler weather. Once the radio shuts down the heater must be turned off and returned to cool to continue listening to the radio. Never had this problem with any other convertibles. I will be selling this car!

Backed it in and knew I would get in and drive off. I took my car in for internal problems nothing having to do with the body. I did know I had to do a 360. My main concern was that my car was running properly. Not that my car would be smashed. How does that happen? Then for the manager to be so rude and mean to me blaming me like I did that damage. As he walks in he says to me “looks like someone is going to need a new bumper! That is no way to treat nor talk to a customer who just spent money and then having her car damaged from someone at BMW. Unacceptable. No one should have to go through this. Horrible.

The car had bent rims and would never ride smoothly... they wanted me to pay for a thrust balancing, then they would blame the tires but my independent tire shop confirmed the tires were okay. The first time I had a major problem the car was in the shop for 12 days because they do not have a enough bays. Lesson learned: If you buy a CPO car insist on a new battery... battery dies about a year after purchase $600.00!!! Purchased a two year extended maintenance warranty (battery not covered) BUT unknown to me it was backdated to when the previous maintenance contract expired in 2014. Lesson learned: Read the fine print because why would any educated intelligent adult assume a two year maintenance contract would start the day you purchase it and expire two years later?The salesperson stated that the original bumper to bumper 4yr/50,000 mile warranty was still in effect because it was a 2011 with 47778 miles but when I kept trying to get resolution on the vibration I was told the original warranty had aged out because the original sale date was actually at the end of 2010. They should hold representatives of the company responsible for their statements. As many on here have stated I would expect more from a Luxury car company.

Dont get caught in this SCAM, there is no warranty, so same day you purchase your new vehicle, if tires start losing air and you find there is a puncture. Too bad, you get to purchase a new tire out of pocket. You then purchase a new tire, same brand and model and the dealer warrants the new tire for 1 year? Huh. No offer from dealership or from the national headquarters of any discount or compensation for your trouble and issue. What type of customer service is this?? We found the car with way more problems with engine. Alternator. Engine oil leak and a/c evaporator core. We had driven before a Lexus 300 for 250000 miles and we never face these many issues. Similar experience with BMW 328i 2009 driven for 66000 miles and problem with a/c evaporator core. Replacement cost 2750 - we think BMW has issues with engineering and design and lot of costly repairs. We will never buy the BMW brand again ever...

Problem 1: Transfer case have been replace several times and Im still having problems with this high price Junk. Problem 2: About 6 months ago the car started sputtering when you accelerate. I found online that you can take your BMW 2011 750LI xdrive in for a customer care package (They did not call it a recall but a customer care package). I thought this would correct the problems because they replace some sensors and vacuum hose but the problem is still there. BMW did a full diagnostic and said Remove and replace all injectors (x8), ignition coils (x8), and spark plugs (x8). (During the inspection found the vehicle misfiring). Final cost will run $6777.00. My warranty company will refuse to pay because they wanted to know what would you replace all 8 injectors and all of the other parts because all 8 injectors cant be bad. The warranty company think BMW know they have a faulted Injection systems and trying to upgrade and correct the problem at the customer expense. The car burn major oil, BMW claim this is normal. I will get a second opinion. This is the worst car I have ever own and when you spend a 100,000 on a car you expect to drive it more then 4 years without all of the problems these car has cost us. I thought BMW quality meant something. I will never, never buy another BMW in Life.Problem 3: Car have 114k now they are telling me the Transmission needs to be replace. This car have been a nightmare from hell. BMW NEED TO BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR PUTTING OUT SUCH horrible quality. YOU HAVE LOST US FOR LIFE. Now when I see a BMW commercial I laugh. I had it taken to BMW SPIRE in London. 2 days later they emailed me saying I have to pay them 16,000 ($20,000) to repair it because the timing chain had gone. I had the car serviced by them one week before and they said nothing about it. No warnings. Nothing. It has a full service history with BMW SPIRE. The Bmw cars are not fit for purpose.

I had the car for 5 years and never really learned how to use the radio. I liked the All-wheel drive feature though. Overall I was satisfied and would consider getting another 5-series. Im 67 and the car fit me well enough. I never had to spend any money on repairs. There were some issues such as Bluetooth not working great that bothered me, but no dealbreakers.

After 5 hours an overly long and drawn out negotiation, and after being physically and mentally exhausted, we agreed to a deal. The first offer provided to me on my trade-in value for my car, which was at 50,000 miles, was $15k… A few hours later, and after many back and forths on lease options, monthly payments, etc., they begrudgingly offered me $17k, justifying the low amount for a windshield that had been cracked and filled by Safelite previously, and 4 worn tires. The car was in impeccable condition otherwise, and BMW assured me they could only retail it for $19k.On March 5, after only 2 days of actually driving the car, I experienced a horrifying issue - I lost the throttle in my car in 2nd and 3rd gears. I was on a 60-mile drive back to my home at night by myself, and while in stop-and-go local traffic, accelerating and merging onto a major highway, and then in local traffic again, I found I had lost any and all throttle over first gear. My speed dropped from 60 mph to 35 mph in seconds and without warning. I narrowly escaped, I would say, at least 10 precarious situations that were nearly horrible accidents. I ended up driving the car straight into the dealer in Roxbury fearing for my safety.They had the car until March 8. Service told me they dont know what caused the issue - they couldnt reproduce it - and asked me all kinds of insulting questions, inferring that maybe I didnt understand how to drive a manual transmission when Ive driven one for nearly 20 years. Or, maybe I just didnt understand the auto start and stop feature, or maybe I just couldnt differentiate scenarios during which it would be appropriate for a car to either go or to stop”. They said they spoke with BMW engineers who told them it could have been a faulty fan sensor and fan, which would have cut the throttle to protect an engine overheat. Brand new car, no issue showing on the temperature gauge. Car was returned late Friday night. While I was waiting for the car that Friday, I found the flyer for the resale of my traded-in 2009 330. They had created a sticker for $21,959... about $5k more than what they have given me on the trade-in. Nearly a 25% margin on my trade in. I kept the flyer for my own records.On March 13, again on a late night drive back to my home, the same issue happened. Same real danger of accident and this time I had a friend following me who witnessed the behavior of the car. I called the morning of March 14 and Service offered to come pick up the car for service and drop off the loaner. Its now March 15 and I havent heard a status yet. I paid the $499 initial monthly lease payment on March 2 and BMW has had the car for 7 of the 13 days its been in my possession.At this point, I would like to return the car for a full refund since it is neither safe, reliable, enjoyable or usable... and I would like my 2009 330 back and to walk away from BMW and never look back!

They say I need a valve body which is a $2000 dollar part inside the transmission which my aftermarket warranty would not cover because they said since its electrical they wont cover it. But the warranty states they cover internal tranny parts which is another rip off these warranty companies. AC compressor failed, water pump failed. Suspension sucks, it shakes. Have bought new tires and like 5 wheel balancings and still vibrates at 60 mph. And the car only has 61000 miles on it right now. This is my second BMW, they both sucked, spent way too much repairing these cars and time wasted. It will be my last BMW and the dealer will not address most of these problems, they recommend getting just a whole new part so 40,00 miles later that part will do the same crap. Fail!

My son drives a 10-year-old Honda Accord that has moldings in better condition than my BMW!The representative then proceeded to tell me about other services that the car needs: wheel alignment, steering wheel service, etc. that are more important than the aesthetics (molding). I was driving on I-880 in Hayward, going about 70 mph, and the driver-side door and curtain airbags deployed suddenly. There was absolutely no impact to the vehicle (1999 BMW 323i). The road was very smooth and gravel-free. I pulled to the side of the freeway, a very unsafe area in that location. My vehicle wouldnt start back up due to a safety feature in the safety terminal of the battery. I contacted BMW NA and it took them close to two weeks to get an engineer to look at my car. I received a call from the claim representative and she told me that the airbags deployed because my car is not new.” After rebutting that ridiculous statement, she proceeded to find another answer (other than the airbag sensor is defective, of course). The engineer found there was some kind of impact to the car. I know there was no impact because I was driving my vehicle. I requested documentation for my records and the claim representative told me she cannot give me any documents because the findings are internal information and she cannot give that information out. She proceeded to offer that BMW NA will pay for the damaged parts, but I had to pay for the labor, which would cost a minimum of $4,200. The manufacturer should hold full responsibility for the damages.If BMW NA believed they were not responsible for the incident, why would they offer even one penny toward fixing the damages? I believe that a class-action suit should be pursued. There have been many incidents reported about this same situation. My vehicle was manufactured in December of 1998, one of the first vehicles ever manufactured for the model year 1999. Naturally, there would be some bugs/defects with my vehicle, especially considering that there is a recall for the airbag system on 1999 BMW 323is (but only for the 1999 323is manufactured between April and August of 1999). Please help. I will try to round up as many people with this same issue and have them file complaints as well.

NO ONE DID!! I find it disturbing that a BMW owner with proper documentations would be left stranded for days because of a policy that leaves no room to judgment and that no one at BMW Customer care, care enough to take action and use his or her judgment to resolve the situation.Updated on 01/19/2015Last week I wrote a complaint that I was trying to have a replacement key made for my Z4. That same day Kristina from BMW customer care contacted me to say that she needed more time to reach someone to resolve my problem - that since my vehicle was registered in Canada that it was against BMWs policy. Not once could they diagnose the problems with transmission. The last few times I took it, the transmission malfunction light was on. One of the service advisers even saw it. But again I was told they couldnt duplicate the problem. In May 2017, I again took it there since my light came on again. They had my car for weeks, but I was told to pick up the car. They couldnt duplicate the problem. A few weeks later, my car would not go in reverse and the transmission light came on again. I called and spoke to the Service Manager Steve **. He told me to bring it to him and they will take a look at it. Well, my husband was able to get it there and told him that the car would not go into reverse, reminded them that I just had it there for the transmission issue and showed picture of the transmission light. Once again, I was told they couldnt duplicate the problem. Their foreman sent me an email stating he reviewed all my previous complaints (which a documented in email) and stated they couldnt duplicate the problem, but that I needed a new transmission shifter selector lever ($1,500) but couldnt guarantee that would take care of the problem. Also stated in email that he notice they showed a pattern of low voltage issues (which I never was told before).My warranty expired the beginning of this year (due to time on mileage). Not once was I informed of the low voltage issues and nothing was ever done about my complaints of the transmission. This would have all been covered but now it is not. I contacted the corporate office, Group 1 Auto. They are the owners of BMW of Annapolis. I received a call from Steve ** from their office. I had him on a conference call with my husband so he could explain our issues. While my husband talked to him, Mr. ** snickered several times while my husband was talking. My husband asked if they was laughing at him. I found the snickering very rude. All I wanted was some kind of resolution with my car. I wanted to know why the transmission light kept coming on (both my husband & I have had problems with the shifting or slipping of the transmission). We were never given an answer. I didnt want to put $1,500 into the car and that not be the problem. I wanted answers. Instead I got we need the loaner car back and Do you want us to put in shifter? Well it turns out Steve ** was at the BMW service department. He told us on the phone we need the loaner back and we will not do any work on your car so please take it to a different BMW service department. I have never in my life been treated in this manner. They couldnt figure out the problem and instead of calling the Corporate Team (which I found out BMW has to figure out problems like this), they wouldnt work with us.My husband ended up getting the car (with no reverse), and noticed damage to the dashboard and curb straps (that were not there when car dropped off). He also had to call the police in order to get the information on who actually worked on our car (test drove it and tried to diagnosis) since BMW would not give him that information. Now I am without a working car, a broken dashboard and still do not know what is wrong with the transmission. I dont understand how it got to this point. Why were the experts not called when they couldnt duplicate the problem. Especially when I told them I was having problems in 2014? This could have been avoided had they taken the extra steps. I understand parts need to be replaced, but I feel it was never diagnosed properly. I am in total disgust. This has given BMW a bad name.

In the first year of ownership, we had multiply problems with the car including but not limited to: new air conditioning, rear door latch, interior door panel, oil leak. The biggest and most dangerous problem occurred on February 11, 2015. I was driving home on the freeway and I lost all power in the car. We were in the fast lane, going up a hill and suddenly no power! There were no warning lights of any kind, just complete power failure! I was able to pull over on the freeway and call the BMW service department in Fresno. I was told by my service adviser to simply turn off the car and it would reset. Upon my arrival back in Fresno, I took the car in to the BMW dealership for repair. After the car was there for a few days, I was told to pick up the car because the service department found nothing wrong with the transmission. Once again I drove the car and with my family in the car on the freeway, I lost complete power again! I took the car back to the service department and told them the car was unsafe to drive. I was given a loaner car. My car was in the service department for one month! My service adviser called me and said that there was nothing wrong with the car and to come and pick it up! I then called the service manager and customer relations with BMW corporate. I explained I could not drive this car because it was not safe for my family or any other driver on the road! It was then that they did an electronic test and determined that it needed a new transmission. On July 23, 2016, on our way to the central coast, the engine started making a horrible loud noise. I took it in to Coast BMW and they informed me my AC compressor was out, the wishbone was cracked and had to be replaced and they found 2 oil leaks. My car had been burning one quart of oil a month and the Fresno service department told me that was normal for an x5! The service advisor at Coast BMW told me my car was NOT SAFE to drive. We had to leave our car at the coast and rent a car home. These are all problems that should have been discovered by the Fresno service team because the car had been in several times. There is truly no excuse for BMW to put the lives of my family and the lives of others at risk. I trusted that I purchased the ultimate driving machine. These problems should NEVER happen to another family. Please be warned that BMW is willing to risk your life and your families lives to save a buck.

As I had initially paid more than I should have for the vehicle (including 4 free maintenance visits) I feel that the final visit should have been honored. I contacted BMW USA and they (unfortunately) will not allow any maintenance past the expiry date. This is a warning to others before you purchase a BMW - DO NOT MISS YOUR FINAL VISIT. I will not be purchasing a future vehicle from BMW.

If I drive on highway, I am getting around 19-20mpg which is far less than what it is advertised and what I was told before the purchase. I have reached out to the BMW service multiple times but I was getting a constant response back from them saying that they couldnt find anything. As per the dealers advice, I have reached out to the BMW customer care hoping that I would get a solution from them. Its been more than 2 months since I have started interacting with BMW customer care and I have called them a number of times. Every time I call them, I am being told that someone from BMW North America service will look into the car and the dealer will schedule an appointment for that which has never happened in spite of multiple follow ups. I am completely fed up with this. It is clearly evident that there is something wrong with the car. I have got a car with a major flaw and nobody from BMW is even taking care of this in spite of multiple complaints.

I love the fact that it has an interior motion sensor and tilt sensor, you’ll know if anyone ever tries to jack your wheels. I love that this car has manual mode and sports program for performance driving. My car has been a very reliable car, still runs just as good as the day I bought it.

It did not exist prior. Sixth, they turned off the ability to update the system through the i-drive. Seventh, the 4-wheel drive sensor still comes on.Eight, I was charged hours of research--shouldnt they already be a BMW expert? RPMs even go down when I give it gas. This X6 as well as my previous one have given me nightmares since 2009. BMW and its authorized service are horrible. They are not reliable! They are dangerous! They are selling defective products that are dangerous and refuse to even talk to the people who they are obligated to under their warranties.

Those are the repairs I did for 9 months ownership:Weak air-conditioning due to evaporator leaking in AC system - a quote of repair cost ~$1200, fixed under warranty. DCT Transmission fluid leaking due to bad o-ring - unknown repair cost, fixed under warranty but I have to pay $2** for new DCT Transmission fluid. Otherwise they will reuse the old fluid and put them in after repair (!!!) Do you reuse toilet paper or condom(s)?Adaptive headlight control module failure - does not cover by CPO warranty. I paid $7** for the repair and reprogramming. High Pressure Fuel Pump failure and Rail pressure sensor failure - this is known issue in N54/N55 engine and the High Pressure Fuel Pump on my car failed in exact 55k mileage. The quote of repair is $17** + taxes + $175 diagnostic fee, fixed under warranty. A Xenon light bulb failure in one headlight - does not cover by CPO warranty. Paid $4** for a set of genuine BMW light bulb and DIY. Let imagine when you get this car with no warranty. How much you will have to spend on every repairs? Good luck with your BMW cars.

Autohaus Graser, Pressath, Germany states now I must buy a new battery, which is nonfunctional due to being inappropriately discharged by the defective battery terminal cables (recent recall). Also, the electric water pump became defective as a result of electrical problems secondary to the defective battery cables and has to be replaced. I requested reimbursement for new battery and water pump as result of faulty battery terminal cables which led to electrical problems. I am overseas in Germany with my American Spec BMW, which was purchased new in Germany in October 2008, Pentagon Car Sales.

I called them and explained the problem and they scheduled another time for the same rep, Bill **, to actually look at the problem. I went to the dealer to meet the rep to discuss the problem; he no-showed and let me sit at dealership waiting on him. I called the 800 number and I expressed my frustration about the unprofessional behavior of the rep. When I got home I received a blocked caller ID call from the rep who asked to come look at the problem but never apologized for his no-show. He showed up at my home with an obvious attitude, looked at the car and said it was not warranted. I was very disappointed. I then took the car to a different dealer, Bert **, to get a repair done unrelated to the paint. When completed I asked for a price to have the paint repaired. I received a call from the service tech who stated they thought I should have the BMW rep look at the paint as they felt there was a defect. I asked who the rep was and the answer was Bill **, the same rep from the other dealer. I explained his past evaluation and asked for a price anyway. I called the 800 number again and shared my concern and they said there would be no further action in spite of my request for a different set of eyes. I feel BMW has poor representation and does not want to fix their defect. I would not recommend a BMW. I will get the car repainted and submit a claim in court.

While I have had to do repairs (I work on it myself) it is nothing out of the ordinary; tires, brakes, coolant system rebuild (pump, radiator, fan clutch, overflow tank and pulleys/belt), alternator, O2 sensors, vanos seals and intake rubber ducting, all gearbox fluids changed. It is all to be expected for a car of this age. I have no complaints as the car has served me well. Some interior trim has broken or weathered and has been replaced, and the sunroof tracks will get replaced this summer. I am getting it detailed to celebrate its 250K milestone. This car owes me nothing! It has served me well and I have no indication that its getting tired.

The vapor was so strong you could see the car vapors seeping from the car while standing on the outside of the car. I took the car to be repaired 3 times for the same problem. The fourth time, I had to contact the corporate office to have a specialist look at the problem. The last repair was a little better, but I can still smell the gas as of this date. Now my car is 6 years old and still has less than 50,000 miles on it. The thermostat light came on saying that the car is hot, not to drive any further. So, I took it to be checked. I was told that the engine thermostat needed to be replaced and would cost $650.00, so I asked them to hold up on repair because I wanted to check with other mechanics for 2nd opinion. I called the specialist to get a quote thermostat repair. Both mechanics from other shops told me to tell BMW service department to make sure that my problem was not the water pump before changing the thermostat. I called BMW back to ask them to make sure that my problem was being caused by the water pump. The repairman insisted that my problem was not a water pump. He said he was absolutely sure that my car needed a new thermostat. After his confirmation of the problem, I gave permission to replace the thermostat. About 1/2 week later, the thermostat light is on again, worse than before because its now red instead of yellow. I had to bring the car back on Monday, 8/20/12. Guess what they are telling me the problem is? The water pump which is around $1,100.00, not to mention the $650.00 I just paid for a thermostat that was obviously not the problem in the first place. I am raising hell! I hope you readers can hear it in my complaint and excuse the spelling because I cant even think straight right now. I will never buy another BMW! Never, never, never, never! Nice looking car, but you cant drive from here to there on looks. Buyer beware.

THE KEY DATA AND THE Printout also confirms that while it failed to monitor and display any warning even after the pads badly damaged, the disc (we noticed it after hearing abnormal sound, otherwise we would have stranded some WHERE). Although the dealer said that he will write to BMW, as expected he came back to us asking for our consent to repair the discs for approx. US$1400. He failed to give any explanation for the failure of the BMW intelligent maintenance system, CBS, The I drive display, VEHICLE information display, etc. and is not ready to own any responsibility to ensure a reliable system, leaving us doubts about the reliability of other data shown on the display about the wear and tear, fluid levels, etc. Such an irresponsible response is unacceptable for expensive vehicles as the systems has to be reliable and if there is a fault and consequent damage, inconvenience to its clients, the company should take responsibility and get the matters sorted out at the shortest time possible.

After a couple days and a 250.00 diagnostic charge at the local dealership, I had my worries confirmed.It needed: 1.New transmission at the tune of $10,000.00, it only has 148,000 km on its lifetime fluid that never needs changing! My Honda CRV has 310,000 km on it and going strong. 2. New tail light since they were melting to the point of failure, 650.00.3. New engine fan since it was only running on high mode only and sounded like a Boeing 747 at take off., 1200.00!Like I needed to be insulted, the guy at the dealership suggests that maybe the owner before worked the tranni too hard by pulling things, since it has a towing package. Wow. After many hours of surfing the web, I learned that these are all problematic issues due to lack of quality and very poor design, which BMW will not take any responsibility for.I finally had the transmission repaired for 3000.00. Have not fixed the tail light issue and have no intentions of changing the fan. I am in the process of selling it or trading it off before the rear air suspension goes bad. Never again, should have bought a Honda.

This car has cost me more than my sons college education, however, to BMW North Americas credit. I had a lovely lady named Medidah to help me with my sensor board. I had to pay labor which was ok; at least, someone cared and assisted. I wish I could afford another car, which I cant unfortunately. This car is paid off. My first new car (ever) I purchased. I was so happy to save money. I ordered exactly what I wanted. I paid it off in 3 years. Next car will be my Honda or Toyota, which I have owned previously. Both were great, inexpensive to maintain, and lasted long time. I shall never, ever purchase another BMW, even if I do love the x5 :(

I approached the dealer to buy it but they refused. According to the dealer BMW and financials services are not allowing them to sell the car at the listed price 23k to me. I would have to pay 27k. The dealer is completely transparent about bmw’s poor practices. According to the dealer BMW and FS don’t want to expose this practice as all previous customers will demand a price adjustment. BMW FS is extremely aggrogrant and says it’s an issue BMW NA and dealership need to address. Dealership is willing to sell if I register at a different address. BMW NA will not respond. The brand is untrustworthy. Period.

I traded it in on a 2011 Coupe, with warranty. I almost have 50,000 miles on this car and I will definitely spend $2000.00 to get the next warranty. Then I will sell the car or trade it in. I love my BMWs. They are fun to drive and MY dealers have been great. The first was DeSimone BMW in Mt. Laurel, NJ, the current one is in Atlantic City, NJ. I always get a loaner car. The staff is polite and they answer my every need. As long as the car is under warranty, it is all good. It is so sad for me to read the horror stories on this site. I thought I was getting ripped off buying my 2011, it seems not. I wish the best for all of you. These are expensive cars, and for me they are worth it for the service and atmosphere, AND driving.

Take in mind, two of my friends who got this recall done, BOTH of their starters went out at the SAME time. So I told this guy, Cody, that if my starter goes out... Ill be back, he goes thats interesting, but definitely let me know if the starter goes out. So I have the car for one day... I pull up to a gas station, turn the car off to get some gas. Try and turn it back on. Wow turns out my starter went out. Called BMW to get it looked at, they tell me my starter is out and that its going to be a whopping $1,400 to fix my starter and regulator for my window. This is ridiculous, so the manager called me and basically said that Im WRONG over and over and he had to be right. I asked him if it were a possibility that the starter got too much power to it? From this new cable. NOPE Im wrong, theres no chance at all. Just because the starter is somewhere else doesnt MEAN that this recall defected my starter. Weird cause my car was in perfect condition before that recall, and before the power went out. Will never be doing business with this corrupt company ever again.

First of all, when I purchased the vehicle I was not informed I had run-flat tires on the car, nor was I offered a replacement warranty option. Naturally I did not think I had run flat tires on the vehicle since there is a full size spare tire in the trunk, which cars with run flat tires on it typically do not have.Then of course I have had multiple problems with the tires and the computer that registers the pressure in the tires. I brought my car to Vista BMW service several times and they kept resetting the computer system so the tire pressure did not register low pressure, never telling me I had problems with my tires. After the pressure light came on for the 10th time, I brought the car to an independent tire dealership, they put the car on a lift and showed me the tires. The front tire had a nail in it and that was why it was losing tire pressure and both rear tires had the steel belts sticking out of them and thats why the tire pressure indicator kept coming on. Yet I had brought the car to Vista BMW on many different occasions and never once did they inform me of the problems with the tires.Leaving me in a dangerous situation everyday, driving this vehicle. I ended up replacing the tires with regular tires after having the car for 1 year at my own expense. The other major problem I have had since I purchased the car, is the constant internal squeaking of the car, which sounds like all the doors are loose from the inside. The squeaking is so loud you can hear it over the radio. Again, I have brought my car into Vista BMW service and they claim the seal on the doors needed teflon tape to stop the squeaking. They proceeded with the repair and the noise was gone for a couple of months. The noise returned and I returned to Vista BMW service. I was then told 2 different solutions by 2 different service advisers.One adviser said the seals of the doors needed to be replaced, the other said no, that they were going to tape it again because that was what the manufacturer suggested, which is what they did, placed tape again. The noise was gone only to return a couple of months later. I believe I went back again another time for the same problem. I have to review my service tickets. I just brought the car in again to Vista BMW service on January 26, 2012 because the doors were squeaking again and I was having other problems which have still not been fixed ; (replaced windshield wipers, which dont clean the windshield and are extremely noisy, asked to have wiper fluid put in at service appointment, they put in plain water, interior vanity light out, still not replaced, and on curves a yellow light on my dash board which is a circle with a triangle in the middle flashes, I have brought the car in for this several times and it still has not been fixed).I spoke directly to the service manager at Vista BMW, Don ** and he reviewed my complaints, which he assured me would be taken care of. I have not heard from anyone since the car was dropped off on the 26th. Today is January 28, I called Vista BMW service today and asked for the service manager and was told he would call me back. A valet from Vista BMW called me back and started reading off my ticket of what was addressed, yet had no knowledge of me or what has been happening with my car. The service manager assured me on when I dropped the car off that the door seals would be replaced, not taped again. I asked the valet again to please have the service manager call me back about my car.Mr. Don called me back today and told me they taped up the doors again. I began telling Mr. Don what he had told me, that the door seals would be replaced as well explaining all the unresolved problems I have had with the car. He expressed that he did me a favor by getting involved in this particular situation and that he test drove my car and the squeaking noise was gone. I expressed to him again that he assured me that the seals would be replaced and not taped. His response was, “Fine, we will replace the seals but I can not promise the squeaking noise will not happen again on the interior of the car.”I expressed to him the car is 1 1/2 years old and still under warranty and this should not be the case. Mr. Dons response was, “Well, thats the way it is and there is nothing you can do about it. We will not replace your car and you are in no position to declare Lemon Law on your car since you have 30,000 miles on the car.” I told him I never mentioned Lemon Law and wanted my car fixed once and for all. When I asked him about the other problems I brought my car in about, his response was, “I did not read your service ticket so I dont know.”I am beyond frustrated, I have never had a new car in service as much as my BMW, I have also never had such poor service from a car dealership. This is my first BMW and will be my last. I had several Honda cars, new, and never had a problem with these cars or the service and I spent half the price on the car. (I won’t step foot in that door ever again and make it a point to tell anyone of the troubles I have with both car and dealership.)12) Doors locked with car running, 13) side plastic plate at bottom of door pops off. Had to use $4.00 tube of silicon on a “fine piece of German Engineering”. 14) Front cowl is plastic and broke off while hitting a pothole in the cold... Did I say...plastic front cowl like in the same plastic in the toy cars my Grandchildren play within the bathtub...but obviously more resilient. 15) Intermittent wipers are stuck on one speed. Told by Georgian BMW this was due to an aftermarket windshield. Odd in the corner of the windshield it reads BMW and I had never replaced it from when I bought the car. I spoke to the service manager and I told him I had a valid receipt for repair. He was quick to answer, It doesnt matter to me. Your cars warranty is void. I quickly reached out to BMW of NA and going back and forth, they asked to see the receipt just to waste my time for two months. Now BMW of Bayside and BMW NA does not want to give me information or a reason why they arent covering me especially after BMW of Bayside told me when they received the car, it had only 4.5 quarts in the car and only 3500 miles over the normal 15000 miles per oil change limit, which should be enough to drive it even if I didnt get an oil change. Im now in the position of not paying for my car and leaving it in the shop. I will burn my credit before I shell out $28k for a warranty item!

So far, I have replaced fog light bulbs twice broken in driver side every time. The car does not have spare tire. Therefore, you have to use run-flat tires, which is $400+ each. For run-flat tires, there is no warranty at all. I replace all four tires two months ago and two months later, one tire got a crack. Since it does not have warranty, I have to buy another $400+ tire again. BMW tries to save every penny by transferring cost to their customers. It is not a company to consider customers as the first priority. They try to squeeze money from their customers as much as possible. Will never buy BMW cars again and will never do any business with them again. I learn the lesson through a hard way. Hope you would not make same mistakes as I did. It is a really painful experience.

The battery is dead permanently, the error signal was on when I purchased it originally, but the sales told me it will be back to normal after couple days driving. But after 1 week driving, the battery error signal is still there, and need to be replaced. 4. The rubber seal on the front end hook is coming out, and looks really ugly and do not match the BMW brand at all. 5. The auto lock is not function at all. After enabling this feature, the auto lock still not working at all. This feature is very normal one on any premium brand car back to 5+ year ago. I personally own another Acura and Tesla, all of cars have this function and there is no problems to use such function in the past 3 years.6. All of the cellphone app remote control function is not working on my car. I cannot lock/unlock/flash/horn the car via the phone app.I drop off the car 5 calendar days (4 business) ago. And service department is still working on it, from the time it took, I can definitely tell this is not a small issue. Since the service adviser told me, replacing a new battery will only cost them half business day. So for sure, there is a huge defective on this brand new X7 car. I am really surprised that this dealer will sell defective car to the customer, especially on such high end/premium 7 series product line. Update @2020-06-24: After 5 days waiting, today afternoon the service department just called me back, saying the display is totally off, and cannot be fixed by them. So they decided to order a new display from BMW, and the new part will by arrived in Friday (so another 3 business days waiting). And then they will need to replace the display part completely! Can you imagine this is what happened to a brand NEW X7, with 7 days driving and only less than 200 mileage.

After two months I did not see the check, I went to ask my sale guy at the dealership. He later told me BMW NA sent a $500 check to my previous address. (My sales guy made a mistake by giving BMW NA that address as I had not lived there for two years). He said he had contacted BMW NA several times to ask for the check. It appears no one there was taking care of this matter.After hard pursuit, I finally had my check delivered to me in May 2015. That is six months later after they made their promise. I had to chase after my sales guy who was lazy by not advising me timely what was going on with this matter. The experience was horrible. There was no such thing called customer service with BMW NA. It is shame you have to keep chasing after them closely for more than six months to do their work. It is a shame with BMW NA.

I went to Google and wrote a review about the towing company.10 minutes later BMW RSA calls me back and say that T & T towing is refusing to return my vehicle because of my review. (Second sign they dont care) why would you call me. I don’t know them. YOU (BMW) chose them to tow my car. So if you are saying they won’t return it then my car is stolen at this point. Another Hour goes by no car. I now get the police involved and T & T towing decides to bring back my car. It is now 12am the next day.I called BMW to schedule a pickup for the next morning for 7:30-8am so they can get it because I go to work. I called the next morning at 8 only to be informed NO Tow truck was scheduled (Third sign they dont care). I call them and rearrange and afternoon pickup after 5. I get car tow by Past and Present Towing and Recovery. I go pick up my car and I now have a BIG gash missing from my bumper. I call and file a claim on June 5th 2019.First BMW denied my claim saying there is no record they towed my vehicle a second time. Then after I got RSA to send report because it seems customer service and RSA are on different networks and it shows they towed it twice. I am on month 3 and they STILL havent made a decision on my vehicle. I am going to sell this car and get an Audi or Mercedes. No reason to spend this much and they treat you like this.

Its very possible one of these employees introduced oil to your cooling system via the overflow tank which could have long term effects on your engine, water pump, etc. I believe if you are a BMW owner or German car owner in general, you need to have some basic automotive understanding which would include NOT taking your car to any random oil change place. Learn how to do it yourself using the correct oil, filter and tools, and it can be so rewarding. Or take it to someone who cares about your car as much as you do...

I did not purchase the extended warranty (maintenance warranty offered by the dealership) as it covered nothing. I am afraid that the engine will fall out of the vehicle, causing bodily injury or maybe even a fatality. I noticed that you already have one complaint about this same issue. Please help me. After 1 week of them having car and only the battery being replaced, had transferred to another dealership to actually have someone work on it. After the new dealership got the engine apart to find leak they kept finding things wrong which had to be ordered and in the end they had the car an additional two weeks. Was in for service 3 of 5 weeks I owned the car. When I got car back the Idrive (radio) did not function. Was told that it was not functioning when it arrived, later found out that the first dealer corrupted the program (killed the radio) when they reprogrammed for the new battery. First dealer would not pay to replace the battery. After getting car back without radio discovered a coolant leak. OF COURSE not covered by warranty, $1500. Wife got a flat and took to replace at Dealership. When we got the car back, the Tire Pressure warning was on still. Dealer said tire pressure is reset through IDRIVE (radio) so they could not reset it because the IDRIVE was broken. Later the transmission AGAIN stopped going into reverse, this time BMW did cover it. Started seeing fluid leaking from transmission. Later found out from Independent repair shop the battery was not the cause of transmission fault, nor the fix that BMW did. The Hard Plastic transmission pan had a micro crack which would leak slowly and then cause the transmission, after about 2 weeks, to be too low to operate. AGAIN fix and not covered by warranty.

Last month in July I drove my car from Mumbai to Pune and it was a rainy day. I parked my car and went to stay in a hotel overnight with all doors and windows completely shut. When I came to the car the next day, I found that my car was completely flooded with about 40-50 liters of water only on the left hand side of only the back side.We used 1 liter Bisleri bottles to remove and we removed water for about 2 hours manually from my 7 series BMW. When the water was completely removed, we started to drive back from Pune to Mumbai. Only drive back I noticed that the car was filling up again as fast as about 10 liters in 30 minutes so we stopped the car every 30 minutes to empty the car of the water. We were very worried for our life while this was happening as we were worried that the water in the car will interfere with the electricals of the car and the car could catch fire.However, when we returned, we sent the car to the authorized BMW service center - Navnit Motors. They told us that the water had filled up inside the car because apparently the car has some vent which sends the rain water out of the car. However this vent got choked so instead of the rain water going out of the car, it started coming inside the car. Now I dont understand this - as this is the basics of any car. I have never heard of something like going happening in even small segment cars like Tata Nano, Fiat Taxis, Hyundai i10, etc, Maruti 800, etc. I cant understand how a luxury car like BMW 7 series can get something so basic wrong wherein a car which is regularly serviced by the BMW authorized service centers can flood up during monsoon from inside and make its passengers do work like removing water from the car and throw it out of the window. Its supposed to be a luxury car which is supposed to give immense joy and that is why they are charging a hefty price for it. But what I have experienced is barely joy. Sir, I need your help in getting justice as BMW thinks that it is my fault that this has happened to me and they have raised a service repair bill of 38000 for this and along with it they have raised a bill for million other things which were not wrong in the car and they are saying that I need to pay them 150,000 rupees for random other jobs which are as crazy as this. Sir, how do you recommend that I get justice? I feel cheated by BMW as I feel that Ive been sold a faulty car and they are not responding to my email.

Self-adjusting strut replaced, after replacement the strut would not inflate; $900 part. Next, they stated it must be the modulation computer; replaced $900, still did not inflate. Next, they said it must be the pump, $900. Still did not work. This cost a towing fee of $200 also, the vehicle had been in their shop for the six weeks. They have now returned it to local authorized BMW repair center. The strut is deflated, causing all struts to deflate making the car undriveable without destroying all struts. Now after paying them, they tell me to drive the x5 back to them and they will take a look at it.I had to rent or borrow for seven weeks. I have paid them because they stated the x5 was repaired, but after paying them and going out to pick up my car, drove to city where I live and by the time I arrived, the struts were deflated. Now it sits having to be towed again to Little Rock BMW for $200.
